This deli used to be our go to place with great food and service. They closed for a number of months due to a water leak. When they finally opened again my wife and I couldn't wait to eat there again. We were disappointed in the quality and quantity of food they offered. Their Rueben sandwich was a staple in their menu. Now, I will never order another one. The meat was gristly and there wasn't much on there. They use thousand island dressing and it should be Russian dressing. They us a marble rye which is actually pumpernickel, and it should be rye bread. The service was good however, and their prices went up substantially. Smaller portions at a higher price are not worth it. We won't go back to eat there ever again. It's disappointing to say this as we use to love this deli. But we will never go back. read more

Yosh's is by far becoming my favorite place to eat. The prices are fair, and the food is over the top amazing. It's always hard for me to try something new because the last thing I ate there was so good. But it never fails that whatever I try is my new favorite. One of my favorite lunch spots in Reno! I usually get the lunch combo, which is any two of 1/2 sandwich, house salad, or soup. It's a great deal at just over $10 with tax. The Reuben and Tomato & Sweet Pepper soup are my go-tos, but I have never been disappointed with anything I've tried. The restaurant has lots of seating including covered outdoor seating. Tried them out again and even worse sandwich than the first time. They use some sort of stock pictures on their website because as another reviewer showed, the French dip advertised and the French dip you get is atrociously different. Not sure why they show a sandwich stuffed with meat, when I have to order double meat and don't get the amount shown in the "regular" meat picture. Why not take actual pictures of what you serve to customers. Today my sandwich is barely edible. The dutch crust bread is burnt with no crunch, it's disintegrating upon touching my lips. The sandwich looks like it was ran over, the bread is comically flat. The meat is overdone and rubbery. Completely disappointed. What's the hype with this place? My FAVORITE deli in Reno! My boss introduced me to it and it's changed my life, tbh. My usual order is a half cinque terre on dutch crunch and a half order of the house salad. It's now a full salad order because it's the salad dreams are made of. The spring mix, the candied walnuts, the cranberries, the house made croutons, the shallot dressing... there's no way to describe it other than AMAZING! When I crave a salad, I crave this. I stopped at Yosh's Unique Deli after hiking near Mt Rose and grabbed lunch. We were looking for a dog-friendly, outdoor seating area and Yosh's fit the bill. I ordered the half sandwich and half salad and selected the Smoked Tri-tip Sandwich with the House Salad. The sandwich was good, and the cold tri-tip was tender and soft. The house salad was served with a sweet dressing and contained a variety of berries and vegetables. None of the food blew my socks off, but it wasn't unenjoyable either. The service was the best part of the experience; both the server and the cashier were very polite and helpful. The bread is super soft/chewy, and the salad had so many amazing ingredients (cucumbers, homemade croutons, roasted red onions, candied nuts and cranberries) not your typical "house salad". I've dined at Yoshi's few times and must say this recent experience was very disappointing. Not sure if I will come back for a $28 lunch for one. The cashier was unpleasant and looked miserable. Ordered a salmon caesar salad for dine in and cup of soup. Had to ask for my soup first. Brought it in a togo cup. Then brought the wrong salad. The food runner seemed so annoyed didn't apologize. Brought my caesar salad with dressing on the side and such a small portion. Looked undesirable like I purchased a salad at a fast food restaurant. The salmon and soup was very good. This deli is definitely a favorite of mine. As someone who has been waiting for a Panera to come to Reno, Yosh's is my go to place when I am craving Panera. I have been wanting to try this place but since it closes before traditional dinner time - it's taken me awhile! I came on a weekday around 11:30 AM and it was probably peak timing! If you're in a hurry, I would probably recommend a phone order. The line was fairly long when I came in but moved quickly until I was at the front. It's clear that they were training some people, had a demanding customer who cut the line because there was a change in her order, and phones ringing off the hook. I ordered two sandwiches that were out in less than 15 minutes and two lemon bars. First off - the lemon bar was DIVINE. Just absolutely delicious and moist - I cannot recommend it enough! I had the gobbler sandwich which is a thanksgiving sandwich. I liked the sandwich - but I didn't love it. It was really mushy and missing much of a "crunch" though it was on a Dutch crunch roll. I had a hard time finding the turkey on the sandwich but the flavors were unique. The inside has a fair amount of seating and they also have chips and drink options. Parking can be chaotic with so many great spots in the shopping center but manageable. read more

First time having Yosh's in quite a while as am rarely in this part of town. Still excellent quality food. Their sandwiches are not huge but are reasonably priced less than $10 for a full sandwich. They make the bread and their meats in house. Their French dip was great with the au jus obviously made from scratch with nice aromas of vegetables in the broth. Very much enjoyed their turkey sandwich (cinque terra) and their smoked tri-tip also. Would certainly return when in the area as the quality of food is obvious. Maybe they could offer a larger sandwich to complete with some delis huge sandwiches for those who enjoy that much food. As far as deli's go this place fits right in. What I want to review was my sandwich. I had the French Dip. I have to say, as simple as the sandwich is, too many screw it up. It safe to say this was the best French Dip I've ever had. First was the smell! It was enticing. The taste was spot on, the beef was super tender, the bread tasty and the dip was good too. I've been here a few times, and am a hardcore fan now. Our last visit was a pick up order during the our social distancing and self isolation event of 2020. They are handling this so very well. And the food just makes your day. Soups, they have amazing soups. My all time favorite is the tomato roasted red pepper soup. It's hearty, full of flavor, tangy, satisfying any time of year. The family lives it when we have a quart in the fridge and it goes so very quickly. The specials are always worthy of trying as they are always scrumptious and tasty. Everything I've had on the menu has been so good. Tri tip cooked to perfection, mushrooms the prefect pop of umami, lettuce crisp and fresh, and breads...their breads are divine. If I've got a choice of bread, I've always asked for a recommendation and have always been very happy with the choice. The tea and lemonade selections are almost reason enough to head over here. There are a ton of salad, soup and sandwich options that had great, creative ingredients. Also looked to have plenty of baked goods for dessert. For not being a deli/sandwich kinda gal, Yosh's really has my heart. They're locally owned and you can tell in the quality of their food and the diversity of their menu and specials. It's VERY hard for me to deviate from their phenomenal gobbler sandwich - with lingonberries - but I am never disappointed with any of their sandwiches or their house salad. Speaking of... that house salad.... YUM. A full salad is incredibly filling and it's filled with all of the goods. One of my favorites for sure! I visited Yosh's Unqiue Deli's pleasant and warm location this afternoon at the suggestion of a friend. I ordered a Smoked Tri Tip Sandwich with Havarti, grilled onions, Aoli and Mesquite Smoked Tri Tip on Swiss Onion bread. This sandwich was absolutely delicious. The Smoked Tri Tip Sandwich had just enough Aoli to make each bite the right moisture but most importantly every element within the sandwich was tasted in every bite. The onions were grilled just right and didn't overpower the other flavors within the sandwich. The Mesquite Tri Tip melted in my mouth and the Swiss Onion bread was a great choice. I will absolutely go back to this deli and try other items from the menu. Yosh's certainly seemed like unique eatery to me! A final note, if you are looking for a large Sandwich, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for great flavors and a portion size that isn't overwhelming, this is the Deli for you. read more

Fantastic! Yosh catered a bagged lunch for my company and it was a hit! We ordered 33 lunches, in a combination of bagged lunch which consisted of a sandwich, chips and cookie. We also ordered salads. Staff: Ordering was so easy! Great customer service. All orders were accurate and the staff even took the initiative to write employee names on each bag (which saved us valuable time). The two people helping upon order pick up, were kind, very helpful and professional. Food: The salads and sandwiches were delicious!! Fresh and abundant ingredients. Everything looked like the pictures on the menu....and we all know, that rarely happens! It really took me about a week to write this. I've been here numerous times and it was always fantastic. The sandwiches ordered today were mediocre at best. The Rueben was so slight in the meat & minimal kraut; the veggie was okay but loaded with sprouts to make it appear larger. There were ants crawling all around the cashier/order counter. We did speak to a owner/manager (they never really confirmed who they were). The reply was they weigh the meats to ensure control. Well, I probably will not revisit as the amount charged for minimal ounce per sandwich is not worth it. There are quite a few sandwich places that do not skim for the sake of scale. I had some business to do at a business nearby and decided to stop in for lunch. This place is actually bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. The interior has an industrial look with the polished concrete floors and the recessed lighting. The menu has a lot to chose from and I decided to get a half order of the smoked tri tip. At the recommendation of the person taking my order, I had it on sourdough. Was an excellent recommendation. I found a seat not too far away from the register and while waiting for my order, I noticed that the majority of the diners here appear to be active people as they all seem to be stopping after a tennis game, walk or workout from the gym. My order came out within 5 minutes and the sandwich was very good! The meat was tender with lots of flavor and the sourdough has just enough tang to bite back. I would recommend going here before or right after lunch as it looks like the lunch crowd can be alot for this place. I needed to order in lunch for 40 for our office and VIP guests. The last time I tried a deli/sandwich restaurant, it was disastrous. We needed something easy to eat since our conference room is max'd out...some people are not at the table so have to eat from their laps. Sandwich and salad was the right answer. We chose an assortment of 3 flavors of sandwich: The Smoked Tri-Tip, Veggie and Cinque Terre. The Smoked Tri-Tip was super-thin sliced so tender, easy to bite into and chew. The aioli and creamy havarti cheese was a great side-by-side flavor with the tri-tip. The Veggie sam was super fresh, thick with thin sliced veggies pepper jack cheese, oil and vinegar...again making for some excellent meeting of flavors. The Cinque Terre is roasted turkey, prosciutto, aioli and tomato bruschetta. Seeing a pattern? Great "main" ingredient accompanied by additional element that makes the flavors zing! How can I know this? Did this girl really eat 3 whole sandwiches? Well, pretty much, yes! But it was 3 halves. They will also cut their sams into quarters....yummm and then you could get MORE sam choices and sample them ALL! We also had 2 salads...the Caesar and the Grilled Portobella Mushroom. The Caesar had large shavings of fresh parmesan cheese (TREAT!) and the dressing was spot-on. I was hesitant on the mushroom salad due to people's particular tastes, but that salad was a hit. Fresh and chunky with cucumbers and tomatoes and an excellent balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Everyone loved it all. Came here about noon on a Friday. The line was to the door when we arrived but moved pretty quickly. They have outdoor covered seating and indoor seating. Probably 20 to 25 tables inside and about half that outside. You order at the counter and have a seat. They have paper menus by the door along with chalkboards on the wall. There are several salads in the cooler that look delicious, veggie pasta, two types of potato salads, cucumber and three bean. There are also several assorted desserts. My wife ordered the gobler on Dutch crunch it is like turkey dinner in a sandwich with warm turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing. She described it as "comfort in a sandwich". I ordered th tri-tip sandwich on a swiss onion roll. Our sandwiches were delivered to our table in a timely fashion. They looked and tasted amazing.
