Another delicious Zankou Chicken location. This location is just as busy as the others I've been to with the same old school decor. There is a small parking lot in front and an underground parking structure that has an elevator if you are concerned about accessibility. I was in the area and decided to drop in for takeout. Took home chicken, hummus, garlic paste, tabbouleh, pickles, and tzatziki. Every single item was so good. They forgot my baklava though hence the one star down.

Mixed Combo Kabob Plate with tabbouleh, rice and cucumber salad. An extra skewer of shish kabob and a small side of tabbouleh.

Allow me to share with you why the Zankou Chicken in Glendale is the best of them all. It begins with the chipper, professional attitude that Carlos has when taking your order over the phone. When you arrive to the restaurant, you are greeted with a kind smile and your order is made promptly and completely. They're even generous with their garlic paste and extra peppers that are asked for, free of charge. But most of all, I was incredibly impressed with Ruth's humility and compassion. It is very clear that she and the team work very hard and have pride in their work. This team offers exemplar customer service! The food is clean, well made, and delicious. The team is efficient, professional and polite! I highly recommend Zankou Chicken in Glendale!

I've come back here a few more times since my last review; mainly because it's the closest location to me, and let's be real, I love my chicken. I'm someone who prefers healthy, smaller meal portions, and Zankou definitely delivers on that (They offer other, large portioned items on the menu, but this is simply what I like). That said, I really want to point out how much the service has improved for me since my original experience. Tigran (shoutout to you!) has been amazing every time I've come in these past few months. He's taken care of my order with no issues, and even when he's not there, the other staff members have been nothing short of great. I always get the Chicken Tarna in a large container or the Tarna bowl with rice. And since I've become a bit of a regular lately, Tigran and a few of the others have remembered my name and my order, which honestly makes me feel so welcome. I'm really glad I gave this place another shot; now it's one of my favorite quick food spots to stop by.

My wife and I went to this location with 18 dollars, the remaining balance I had left on my debit card. We were unsure of the potential vibe of this Zankou location, but as we walked through the door, we were eagerly greeted by three chipper employees, and immediately knew our lunch had the potential to be fantastic. We were having trouble figuring out the optimal meal for our budget so I explained the situation to Sipan & Kim. I have only 18 bucks. What could I get to satisfy two hungry artists?" Immediately, Sipan and Kim were actively racking their brains to find the best bang for our buck. They were contemplating between a 1/2 chicken plate, or a chicken bowl with extra protein, or maybe even a schwarma plate (no, that would be too much after taxes). We finally went with Kim's suggestion of the 1/2 chicken plate with a side of hummus and cucumber salad would be the best option with our price constraint. We placed our order and it came out to 18.70. I placed my card on the machine, with a slight fear I wouldn't be able to pay for it. The card beeps and I'm 70 cents short. Sipan, the main cashier helping us, assured me that it was completely fine and placed his card on reader, covering my charge. Then I thanked him profusely, as he handed me water cups and my receipt. We got our food three minutes after paying for it, which was life saving, like finding an oasis on a long Saharan trek. We were very hungry. As I went to pick up the tray with the food, Kim threw on an extra pita bread. Thank you Kim. We got our food and it was as incredible as the service. The crispy skin and juicy meat of the chicken, the perfectly smooth and grounding hummus, and refreshing crunchy salad, was wiped clean, eaten, and appreciated as we felt its its nutrients convert into energy for us to live our blessed lives. Lesly then handed me a drink on the house, which was really kind too. Overall, I'd give this Zankou chicken experience a 10/5 stars. The true definition of quality and fast food. The team is vibrant, uplifting, and inspiring. Thank you especially to Sipan, Kim, and Lesly for creating an experience to remember, on the first day of 2026 to say the very least! What a way to start the new year.

It was getting late, so while I waited for the kid in the car at their activity, I went on The Heights website found an order form and placed an order for some sammies all in 5 minutes. I didn't even ask the hubs or the vegetarian kid what they wanted. I went with what I thought they'd like. 15-minutes later, I was picking the sandwiches up at the walk-in only shop. There was no line and better yet, they were wrapped up and ready to go when I walked in. The smiling lady asked if I wanted napkins or utensils. They have case after case of cold drinks so we picked out a couple of drinks, paid for those and left. It was easy and fast. Enjoyed the yumminess at home. I normally would save a half for another meal but my "Pasadena" hit the spot that I finished it up all at once. Quality bread, meats, cheese, fillings aka all the ingredients...to boot! PS the kid loved theirs and so did the hub. Thanks for making dinner: easy and delicious! There are no pictures because it was too delicious to take the time out and take any. Just order.

Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) She was great. We will definitely be back at Dune soon!

Could be because it was Sunday and there was a Farmers Market nearby, but still something to consider. We ordered the Lamb Plate ($26). Portion was solid and the plate is actually pretty interesting -- lots of different sides (flatbread, greens, olives, pickled turnips, etc.), so it doesn't feel boring. That said, the lamb itself was just a few small pieces and it was ground. I would've preferred more actual meat Tried the rosemary lemonade too, but didn't really taste any rosemary. Just a regular lemonade, slightly sweet and sour. Also you pay upfront right after ordering. We sat outside on a small patio facing Glendale Blvd. It's a tight space, and at one point someone from the street was walking around nearby talking to themselves, which made the experience a bit less comfortable. Staff was friendly and service was quick though, no issues there. Also, no public restroom, so keep that in mind. Overall, not bad. I was hungry, so I finished everything pretty fast, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to make a special trip again.
