Service was good and the ambiance was fine. However, the food was a major disappointment. A bicycle tire is less rubbery than our chicken dishes. Nor did they have any flavor. The chicken used to have Greek seasonings and was grilled to a moist perfection. Now it is boiled to the consistency of grissel with no seasonings whatsoever (not even salt). I had Ziziki's food which was catered at this year's Greenhill Speech and Debate Tournament. The food is delicious. Try their Yogurt/Cucumber (Tzatziki inspired) salad dressing, so so good. Their lamb skewers were fantastic. Highly recommend if you are craving good Mediterranean cuisine. read more

Disclaimer: I came here for a business-type dinner and had everything covered for me. I was with a group of approximately 25 so Ziziki's printed out a separate menu sheet for us. I know nothing of the prices or the regular menu. I find myself teetering between a 3 and a 4. Ziziki's is a solid 3.5. Appetizers I tried included the trio of dips and the calamari. Both were enjoyable. The trio of dips was a winner and the presentation was simple yet lovely. The spicy hipiti was probably my favorite and I loved the garlic-y, soft pita bread. Calamari was just alright. I appreciate the fact that it wasn't overly breaded. For my entree I ordered the leg of lamb gyro. The lamb was a bit tough for my taste. It was hard to get a clean bite out of the sandwich due to the toughness of the lamb. Flavor was not totally there but the Ziziki sauce saved it. Maybe I'm just used to the tender, shaved gyro meat off the vertical rotisserie that I typically get at other Mediterranean restaurants. The side of potatoes had the perfect texture...but they were super salty. My friend ordered the lamb souvlaki and let me try a piece of lamb off his skewer but I was unimpressed because it didn't seem to have any flavor other than the flavor of pure lamb. Unless this is what they were going for, I don't know. The baklava ice cream cake was de-li-cious. On the bottom there was a thin baklava layer with flaky layers of filo, then a thicker layer of creamy vanilla bean ice cream topped with cinnamon, walnuts, and syrup. The cinnamon is what enhances this dish. Excellent service. Food was served in a timely manner. Waters were promptly refilled. Alcoholic drinks instantly replaced when empty. Hostess was unbelievably rude. Didn't greet us, just stared at me with a crappy look until I spoke. She also didn't understand why seating 5 at a table for 4 was not okay, even though I had a reservation for 5 that I made weeks ago. Luckily for the restaurant, one person canceled last-minute so we got a 4-top and they didn't have to worry about seating 5 of us comfortably... since obviously that was an inconvenience. We then sat for 10 minutes with no one coming to our table. It took me getting up and asking if drink service was offered during the brunch buffet for someone to come help us. Food was okay to good. Highlights: lemon cod, artichoke hummus, eggs with feta, tomato, and basil, lamb meatballs, and all the smoked salmon I could eat, even if it was cheap and chewy. Middle of the road: drunken mushrooms, cold white pasta, and greek salad that I could put together myself. Lowlights: the "bagels" were Thomas mini bagels and not actual bagels like I was expecting. Spanakopita was strangely sour and very off-putting. Chicken souvlaki was dryyyyyyy. So dry. The bottom of the lamb souvlaki bin was overcooked dry meat. Mimosas were served in giant wine glasses and have very very little alcohol. It just tasted like OJ. Also, huge point of note: don't list things on your website that you don't actually have. The brunch menu on the website says it includes red pasta and grilled fish with red sauce. I can forgive the latter being absent because the cod (funny enough, not listed) was so good. But the menu also says it includes "Chef Made to Order Omelet Station (variety of toppings)." This is not true. My husband and my mother and I were all very much looking forward to this, but the Preston location does not have it. So disappointing. This needs to be taken off the site. Nice looking restaurant, good for a date night. Got the Chicken Souvlaki with extra ziziki sauce. The kebabs were cooked perfectly and went very well with the sauce and the pita. They were a little big so had to cut them in half. They were presented well and tasted really good! They were a little more expensive then other restaurants but tastes great! I was introduced to Ziziki's when I first moved to Dallas last year and have been to several of their locations many times -they are consistently wonderful and their food is always fresh and delicious! What I love most is that there are so many healthy options on the menu! My favorite thing to order is the salmon salad. They use sushi grade, fresh salmon and it is always perfectly cooked. It blends perfectly with the feta cheese and crisp romaine. Their vegetarian platter is also a wonderful blend of fresh and healthy treats, would highly recommend for any plant based friends! This place is a "Wow" kind of place. Everything about our experience was amazing. We came here for a belated anniversary dinner because quite frankly it is one of our favorite places to eat. It is always relaxing and the service and food are perfect everytime. We ordered two appetizers to start with. One was Flaming Cheese, the other, Fried Zucchini. The Flaming Cheese was amazing and tasted wonderful atop the pita that is was served with. The Zucchini was wonderfully crisp and tasted great with the cucumber sauce it was served with. Our main course was Chicken Souvlaki, simply prepared and grilled over an open fire. It was served with over roasted potatoes and was the perfect sinner. This spot is located in a crowded and busy corner but it is certainly worth the parking effort. The location is not very big, either but it is certainly cozy. The staff is always friendly too. My pick is the Mediterranean bread as an appetizer, delicious! For lunch, the chicken or lamb slouvaki; however, this time I opted for a salad because I have to lay off on too much gluten. M and I went for our goodbye lunch since we are both about to move and relocate. They sat us promptly and gave us a choice of table or booth. At 11:45am they weren't too crowded and had extremely attentive service. The waitress was kind and could tell we had some serious catching up to do so while she check on us she didn't interrupt and that was appreciated. We both ordered the skewers: M had shrimp and I chose the salmon. It was perfectly grilled, flaky and cooked exactly medium like I had requested. It was served on a homemade pita with tzatziki sauce on top and a few red onions and on the side some potatoes with rosemary and other herb seasoning. Food was fresh and delicious. We love this place, been going for years when we visit Dallas. It is tucked away in a nondescript strip mall at Forest and Preston, close to where I grew up. It seems like a neighborhood secret. We went last night-table of 9 (we called ahead and made reservations) and it was busy but not overly crowded for a Saturday night in Dallas. The atmosphere is charming and cozy and just has a warm feel to it. The service is top notch. Last night our server was Sara-she was very friendly and attentive. I had the Vodka Summer Soda-it was good-a little sweeter than what I am used to but the flavor was great and the fruit in it was fresh and delicious. We had calamari and the trio of dips-artichoke hummus, spicy hipiti, and eggplant dip with warm pita bread and cucumbers- as appetizers for the whole table. Yum. Everyone was happy. I had the seabass filet with quinoa and asparagus. It was so good, couldn't stop eating! The fish was cooked perfectly and the quinoa had a unique flavor. My husband had the sliced leg of lamb gyro-free range lamb on pita, onions with Ziziki sauce and herb roasted potatoes-he loved it. Whoever is in charge of cleaning may want to pay a bit more attention. The floor under the bar stools looked like it hadn't been swept in a couple days and the very end bar stool (closest to window) had cobwebs. Just looking around the place while I was there, I could tell most people don't go to eat there to sit at the bar, but still.I could understand this more coming from a much cheaper restaurant in other neighborhoods. The restaurant is higher priced than a lot of places. I had a lamb gyro sandwich which was $23 and I didn't feel it it was worth that price. The lamb was good-the pita was very good and when you got a bite that had just a little sauce & veggies and a bit of everything in it-really good. It's a bit nicer of a restaurant so it came with fried potatoes rather than fries. But there are other places in Dallas to get a gyro that is a fraction of that price and over all WAY better. I also had the Keftedes appetizer which was good in it's own way. I suggest getting a little piece of the cheese, piece of meatball and drip it in the sauce. There were total 5-6 meatballs and price was $11. With the the cleanliness of the place mixed with the plate itself-I can't see paying those prices. It's on the edge is a rich neighborhood so maybe the people just don't know any better? I lived in Michigan for a few years where I was spoiled with lot's of great Greek restaurants. This restaurant is really good! It's a little upscale, their service is really good. The restaurant has a nice, warm feeling and nice decor. We got seated quickly. We tried their Lamb Loli Pops, grilled lambchops on a stick. It was perfectly grilled and had great flavor. I tried their lamb souvlaki as the main dish. It was also cooked great. The Ziziki sauce was a little tame, I would have liked more garlic flavor. I also got a chance to try the avgolemeno which is a Greek lemon soup. It was creamy and very tasty. The goat cheese cakes were dusted with Panko breadcrumbs and fried, and they were delicious spread on a little bit of toast. A Greek staple I always get is the lamb gyro and it was honestly one of the best. I don't know what sauce was on it but it was not at all dry and full of flavor. Ziziki's is a Mediterranean Style Restaurant in North Dallas. I have been to the Uptown location, and in comparison to that location, I am not going to lie, I do prefer the Uptown Location over this one. We had an "okay" time here, at this location because the staff made us feel like a burden. We had a group of 7, larger than the 4 that they allow us for online reservations. I called a week beforehand for a table of 7. We came on the Saturday for their brunch. At the Uptown location, you were able to order what you wanted off of their brunch menu. Here at this location, they just gave us food off of the menu without asking. Some of us had dietary restrictions, so we were not able to eat some of the food they made for us. We felt bad having to waste food. They did have bottomless mimosas, however, they cut us off after 3-4 mimosas each, so it wasn't really bottomless. The waitress said that we were too "hyper", so that was the reason we were cut-off. They had us seated at one side of the restaurant with no one next to us, so I felt like we did not bother anyone, plus there were moments where we sat silence waiting for staff to come help us out, but they wouldn't come with a wait time of 30 minutes+ . When we did ask, we would ask the hostess for help whenever we wanted water or food, but the waitress was on her phone in the corner of the restaurant. I literally saw her.... We were very clean, actually, helping stack plates after we ate dishes too. Yet, they made us feel unwelcome. When we received our checks, they automatically put 20% tip on our checks. I spoke with the manager, and HE WAS THE MOST ACCOMMODATING. He told us if we weren't comfortable with the 20% tip, that we could remove it, but we didn't, because we did have large group (of 7), that a 20% tip was reasonable. Typically, we tip 40%+ on our tab, but with our miniscule service, we felt 20% was fair and nothing more. He was the reason that I decided to give 4 star rating. He gave us his business card, and told us to come back for a better experience, so I really appreciated him for that. He truly made us feel better, and I am so grateful for that! There wasn't a wait at all (we made a reservation just in case). The interior was quite elegant. The hostess led us to our table, which was near a window (I like natural lighting, because it makes my food pictures look better). We ordered the trio of dips, which came with artichoke hummus, spicy hipiti, eggplant dip and warm pita bread. My favorite was the spicy hipiti (even though it wasn't spicy at all). The pita bread were also delicious. It kind of tasted like seasoned bread sticks, but with pita bread. For my entree, I decided to try something new, so I ordered a rack of lamb. It came with two lamb chops with mushroom sauce, roasted herb potatoes, and asparagus. I didn't eat much of the potatoes, because they was a lot of seasoning on them. This is my first visit in years. It was long over due and so delicious. For lunch I shared artichoke hummus and pitas with my friends. It was delicious tangy smooth goodness with seasoned pitas. I could eat that all day. The lamb salad was also incredible. I know it's salad but oh so good. The lamb is tender and tasty and the dressing they make is wonderful. I dont know how to describe it. I am relatively new to Dallas (from New York) and have been looking for a reliably good Greek spot. Ziziki's is it! I have been to the Travis street location, which I also gave 5 stars. This review is also reflective of how the establishment handles the COVID precautions. Overall, they do a good job. We made a reservation and came on a Saturday night. I normally would not sit inside a restaurant and have been exclusively doing outdoor dining however, it was cold out and the indoor area looked pretty sparse. We were also given a table that was off on its own and weren't surrounded by anyone else, which was a major plus for me. The wait staff wore masks of course and it felt like a safe experience. In terms of the food, I love the chicken souvlaki as a main dish. I've also had the trio dip and the ziziki bread and those are also delicious. We ended our meal with the baklava ice cream cake, which was incredible! I'm not a huge fan of baklava, but this cake was one of the best and most creative desserts I've had! read more

I do love the dishes, but I would only go to Ziziki's when I would be spoiling myself or inviting friends out to eat. Appetizers: -Trio dip sampler: delicious and they gave us a refill on the pita bread (a favorite). It also comes with a plate of cucumber spears -Calamari: the best you will ever have, more squid than fried batter -Cheese cakes: great but a little too much cheese for me -Zucchini fries: not good. They were more like slices of skinny bread than "fries" and it was mostly the fried batter, which also happened to be over fried and mostly burnt. -cabbage roles: good, but my mom makes these with meat and rice and I like them better. Main course: mahi-mahi, pecan crusted with green beans, and arrozo pasta. I couldn't stop eating this is was magical! A unique dish. The sweet mint sauce was different but I liked it the more I ate it. The fish was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Yum yum yum. Dessert: -baklava ice cream cake: I'm torn in this one. I really liked it but was slightly disappointed bc the baklava on this was hard (not soft and flaky as usual), but that's understandable because it's frozen due to the ice cream, and it was a bit too sweet for my taste -dough puffs with yogurt, essence seeds, and yogurt: I really loved this dessert.
