The food was excellent! The best I have had in a while (and that's in comparison to similarly priced places). Appetizers: -Trio dip sampler: delicious and they gave us a refill on the pita bread (a favorite). It also comes with a plate of cucumber spears -Calamari: the best you will ever have, more squid than fried batter -Cheese cakes: great but a little too much cheese for me -Zucchini fries: not good. They were more like slices of skinny bread than "fries" and it was mostly the fried batter, which also happened to be over fried and mostly burnt. -cabbage roles: good, but my mom makes these with meat and rice and I like them better. Main course: mahi-mahi, pecan crusted with green beans, and arrozo pasta. I couldn't stop eating this is was magical! A unique dish. The sweet mint sauce was different but I liked it the more I ate it. The fish was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. Yum yum yum. Dessert: -baklava ice cream cake: I'm torn in this one. I really liked it but was slightly disappointed bc the baklava on this was hard (not soft and flaky as usual), but that's understandable because it's frozen due to the ice cream, and it was a bit too sweet for my taste -dough puffs with yogurt, essence seeds, and yogurt: I really loved this dessert. The puffs are like soft donut holes covered in honey. They are the perfect balance of sweet and the yogurt balances that nicely as a cool plain flavor like cookies and milk. read more

Hadn't been to Ziziki's for a year or so, as I moved away from Dallas but it's always been one of my favorite Dallas restaurants. Had lunch there today with a buddy and the place seemed kind of tired and the food way lackluster. I usually go to Travis Walk location so maybe that's the difference. Ordered the lamb gyro plate which I was really craving... and the lamb seemed undercooked and with little flavor and the gyro flatbread which I usually love seemed different and wasn't even into finishing it. Also I should know this by now but it would be nice if they said on the menu that they put a lot of feta cheese and onions on the gyro as I don't like that and am sure others don't either. Would just be nice to be able say to leave it off but I always forget that they put it on! The roasted potatoes however that come on the side, were excellent! That $$ on Yelp can really vary - we were expecting $10-15 per entree, but here it's more like $20-25 per entree. Which is fine, just a little surprised. The food was worth it. We had a tzatziki appetizer that was incredible - I could have licked the dish. Some of the best tzatziki I've had. (Also, can I just say that it irks me that they spell the name of their restaurant wrong??) Hubby's gyro platter was delicious, topped with that great tzatziki sauce. My moussaka was alright. Zizikis is such a cute place! they took precaution during a pandemic, provided great customer service and the chefs special choices were plentiful and justified price of dishes. It's a nice little Mediterranean restaurant that adds a touch of americano flavors. I ordered the chefs special lamb brisket and it was full plate- the meat fell right off the bone YUM!! My friend ordered lamb lasagna and he said it was also great quality of food. Only thing it was missing was a lack of veggies. They added a few olives and cherry tomatoes on the side of plate to give it a Mediterranean feel. I would suggest that you add garlic, hummus sides with beer bread and a Greek salad as well. The drink I ordered a summer vodka with soda water however it made the drink sour with too much lemon juice. I'm a big fan of Greek food especially when it's fresh and in a unique environment. Today I had the distinct pleasure of dining for lunch at Zizikis at Forest and Preston in Dallas. The service was prompt and polite and the waitress was able to accommodate my substitution request with ease. For an appetizer I went with the artichoke dip and pita bread. This was a Greek hummus with artichokes, garlic, lemon and warm pita bread. While the hummus was fantastic, it was the pita bread that was distinctly rememberable. So much so I asked what made it so tasty. The owner informed me this all came down to Greek oregano with some salt, pepper and garlic. For lunch I opted for Salmon Souvlaki (skewers) and a side Greek salad with Ziziki dressing. I preferred the light salad compared to the standard potatoes. The meal arrived promptly and the skewers were served atop a large round pita bread. The salmon was perfectly moist and fell apart with the touch of my fork. It was pretty easy to clean up my plate. I opted for a coffee to close out the meal and the addition of cinnamon was a welcome surprise. Overall, this place bleeds of authentic Greek food and I'd highly recommend it. I had lunch here a while back and am finally getting around to writing the review. Met a gal pal for lunch and we had a hankering for some Mediterranean food so Ziziki's was the winner. I had never eaten here before and will absolutely be back. We did go during the week for lunch and did have to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Totally worth it though. The parking can be a challenge during the lunch hour, so bring some patience and comfy shoes to walk across the parking lot. Ha! The feeling of the space is upscale, family with a welcoming vibe. You know, the dark wood, white table cloths, round tables, etc. You definitely feel like it is more special than a typical lunch place. I would imagine this would be a lovely date place for dinner too. For an appetizer we ordered the TRIO OF DIPS which consists of Artichoke hummus, spicy hipiti, spinach feta dip, warm pita bread. All the dips tasted very fresh and delicious. The pita bread...I mean...YUM! So fresh, soft, fluffy, the perfect chew, and warm. I would go back just to have this app with a glass of wine. For lunch I had the Gyro which came with the most delicious, crispy, flavorful potatoes. The gyro was delicious too. The serving size was definitely enough to take home and enjoy some leftovers later. I mean, if you skip an app, and you're hungry, this will not leave you looking for more food...or maybe you just need to order one of the desserts that other reviewers have raved about. Staff was kind, welcoming, and attentive without feeling like they were trying to get you to turn the table. Some restaurants can tend to make you feel rushed, particularly during a busy lunch hour. We did go a little later in the lunch hour and the place really never did get slow. Even with the crowd, it was not too loud or disrupt our conversation. Pre-Covid, my husband and I would come here about once a month or once every 2 months and had really great dinners. Service was always fantastic and the food was really great! Post-Covid, we ordered take-out and when we got home, we were very disappointed. We ordered ziziki bread, Chicken Souvlaki, and Lamb Gyro. None of the dishes had any ziziki sauce, everything was super dry and "thrown together". Really disappointed as this was an anniversary dinner. Did not do my homework Turns out Ziziki's Greek restaurant Preston Forest is part of a chain and it shows. If you are a fan of classic Gyros' with that distinctive Greek taste served with a rich Tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers you won't get it here. What you get is some sort of stringy, thin beef served almost wet in a bed of Pita; never seen anything like it. After the fact I looked into the kitchen and saw no rotisserie with meat being carved in broad slices. The evening started with an incredibly disappointing Saganaki (flaming cheese). Being from Chicago and having experienced the dish where it was invented at the Parthenon in Chicago's Greek Town, I should have known better. I will say my wife's Spanakopita was very good. This restaurant chain promotes itself as Greek inspired not Greek; I really should have done more homework. read more

In addition to that he had already 1) forgotten my husbands soda, 2) had to be asked to have water refilled, AND 3) had to be asked for limes 2 times. Second, the location and parking are convenient - for dining-in or taking-out. Third, and no less important, is my favorite server Sara, who remembers me although my lunchtime visits and pickups are infrequent. For a few years pre-Pandemic, I and a group of 15 to 20 professionals lunched together at Zizikis every other month. Sara took amazing care of our group, some of whom would arrive late. Had an absolutely fabulous dinner here!! My husband and I ordered the dip trio and shared half chicken half lamb souvlaki. Everything was so flavorful! Highly recommend both dishes. I do agree there could be more veggies - next time I'll get a side salad and I'll save room to try the ice cream baklava! We had great service as well. We went here for a late lunch and it was better than expected. An upscale joint in a strip mall, I seem to be finding a lot of these in the North Dallas area. I had the Lamb Philly. The lamb was tender and didn't have a gamey taste. The cheese, roasted peppers, sauce, and toasted bread with the lamb made this one amazing sandwich. The sandwich came with a side of roasted potatoes with just the right amount of seasoning, and whatever that seasoning was, it made one of the best potato sides I've had. My husband had the lamb gyro and again the lamb was tender and cooked just right. The pita was soft and warm. The toppings and sauce were perfect. They also provide a kids' meal, so for those picky kids, there is a cheese pizza made with pita bread. My favorite part of the meal was the dessert. You have to have their baklava ice cream. OMG, it was heaven. Layers of baklava filling and vanilla ice cream drizzled with sauce that is just the right amount of sweet. Two stars is too many, but for the saving grace of the food. We are regulars at both Ziziki locations and frequent at least a couple times a month both dining indoors and take-away. Yesterday on Sunday we took advantage of a rare opportunity to have an adult parents brunch and took advantage of the $30.00 BRUNCH. This was a bad mistake. Our reservations were for 12:30 on Sunday. They were not full, but busy when we arrived. We sat outside with the promise that the heaters were on and working. They were not. It took five trips to get someone to get them to work, and separate trips to remind the team we had not been touched yet at our table. It took 25 minutes to get our drink order in, no one asked if we wanted the complimentary mimosas (we did not, but trust me if we did like others did it would have cut down on the complaining heard by most). Peoples children were using the patio like their own playground running around. It was windy. Our glasses remained empty several times. When the food arrived, we had to remind her of what all was on the brunch to bring the rest. Twice. SMH. I asked if she was knew, and no, was the response. Anytime we tried to get a manager or someone to help us, we were passed along to someone else as it was not their job. OMG. I was a in the restaurant industry for 5 years. I get when we are short staffed. I get when we are over booked. I get that there are still some protocols in place that make serving a tougher job. There is grace with that. There is not, however, grace for lazy imcompetant employees...and that starts at the front desk. No smile. No welcome. No proper dress code adhered to. Shame on Ziziki. I hope the owner reads these, because you have a nightmare at your Forest location. I hope you fix it. It would be a shame to remove one of our favorites. read more

Fairly priced, service slow. Kitchen is the problem. One of us ordered a salad with chicken. The kebabs had no seasoning or flavor and were very dry. The salad was just lettuce and feta. Not good. I had the Greek platter. The spanakopita lacked flavor. The philo was tough/dry. Seemed warmed over from last week. The lamb in the moussaka was tough and not seasoned well. No flavor. The staff is incredible at this location. We dined here for a friend's birthday dinner, and Vinny, our server, was amazing. Drinks: The Mixed Berry Mojito was on the lighter side for my taste buds, but the Spartan Mule definitely made up for it. Entree: I ordered the Lamb Shank, and it was so tender! You could still taste the seasoning, but it was not overwhelming by any means. The mashed potatoes were light as air. I came here for lunch with my mom. It was not as busy and it was almost 1PM when we got there. We had the lunch menu. I also ordered a bottle of wine, as it was 1/2 the price on Monday's and Tuesday's. Should you all want that extra information. (Wink). We ordered two appetizers, calamari and dolmades. Both appetizers were super delicious!! I love the delicious taste of my calamari dipped in the sauces. The calamari had two sauces, tzatziki and a tomato based sauce. I even mixed them both at one point and loved it. The dolmades were delicious and loved the cucumber, wish our plate had more. For my main meal, I got the chicken breast gyro. I ate mostly everything, minus the potatoes. I did have a couple potatoes, as I could not resist it. I just ate my chicken breast gyro, as I needed more of the protein component. I just wish my pita bread was not bathed in the sauce. Maybe next time I will ask for it on the side. The sauce was on the pita bread with the chicken gyro and onion. I still ate it, but I am more of a person that would rather dip it. Next time, I will be sure to see, if they can make it for me on the side. On the other hand, my mom ordered the salmon salad and was satisfied by its serving portion. Overall, the presentation of food was fantastic. Our server, Maurice, was awesome. We've been meaning to try out Ziziki's for a while now and finally got the chance. To our surprise, it was half off bottles of wine that night (it was a Tuesday night, if I remember correctly), which was an added bonus. The dining area is very nice, to the point that we almost felt like we weren't dressed appropriately (not going to lie, we were going to go to Panera when we saw Ziziki's and changed our minds!). Staff was very friendly. We ordered pita bread and hummus for an appetizer and I do believe it was the best pita bread I've ever had in my life. When we finished the bread but still had hummus remaining, our waitress offered to bring more bread or cucumber slices without us asking. We opted for the cucumber which was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and presented very elegantly. Surprisingly, we weren't charged for this, which was very nice of them! Main courses were good, too. I had some sort of lamb dish. The lamb itself was kind of eh, but maybe I'm just not a big lamb person. The potatoes, though, were simply the best! When we return I may just ask for a plate of pita with potatoes!!! read more
