The smell of the food they were cooking smelled so delicious. It was hard to not want to try the food. Sean had explained the menu to me since it was my first time going there. Joey (owner cooking on the grill) recommended sweet heat croissantwich they have that's not on the menu. A customer in line had chimed in how they had done a collab with Gooey Center cinnamon rolls and they put a maple sausage in the middle. I had ordered a few sandwiches but was only able to try the sweet heat croissantwich. This was amazing it was a crunchy yummy goodness that I can't explain. It wasn't spicy and you can taste a slight sweetness. It was the perfect bite each time. I had also ordered a hashbrown on the side. It was so crispy and it didn't need ketchup or anything else. I can't wait to come back soon to try the breakfast burger which they're known for and the S.P.E.C sandwich. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich sounded pretty popular as well. I believe the smash burgers is what started it all but you definitely gotta try it for yourself.

I'll start off with the parking. There's plenty of parking in the shopping center if you get there early enough. The decor was on par with the theme. The place is not big but every inch of this place was decorated. Definitely gave a Halloween vibe. My husband and I wanted to try the food. At the entrance I was told to ask a waitress about a table. Some were reserved already so we waited a little while. Paola hooked us up with a table about 10 minutes later. We ordered our food and some drinks and within 10 minutes we were eating. We ordered some wings a burger and Cajun fries. Everything was delicious and although the drinks are kind of pricey they were delicious. Paola kept checking in on us and once we were ready to close the tab, she got us a high top table by the area where people were dancing. She still would check in on us from time to time and even brought us some water. So shout out to her! The dj played good music and the whole place was vibing. Everyone was having a good time. They played music that made me reminisce of my high school days as well as current music. The only thing I was not to fond of was the bathroom. Only two stalls for the women's restroom and a bathroom for either gender. At times the line would be long. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves very much and would definitely go back next year if they do it again.

Luckily, my friend and I had a great time meeting new people (way younger than us) and dancing our butts off. The bartenders were so nice. Loved James. Hes super cool. The signature cocktails (I forgot what I had but it has vodka lol), was actually refreshing. Not overly sweet. Can't say much on food since my friend ordered fries. But otherwise, I hope they bring back more pop-ups (hinting for Xmas theme, guys???)

This is one of very few places in L.A. where I will willingly wait in line for an hour to order and…read moreanother 30 minutes to get my food. If you've been to a popular BBQ place in the South, you're no stranger to the lines. I've been to APL at two pop-up locations: Ayara Thai in Westchester & Gin Rummy in MDR/Venice. The latter (and current) location, Gin Rummy, has seating, so it's a better experience. Ayara is a Michelin-listed Thai place, but Chef Adam was serving out of the back & there was no seating. So far, Ive tried the burnt ends (9/10), beef ribs (9/10), lamb chops (9/10), and pork ribs (7.5/10). To put this in perspective, I would not score any of these items anywhere else in L.A. higher than a 7/10. Yes, some of the sauce can be overly-sweet, but the craftsmanship that goes into smoking the meat is unparalleled in L.A. And, yes- I have a charcoal smoker at home and make decent brisket and ribs. As other reviewers have mentioned, prices are high, portions are large, and there's almost always a wait, so best to go with a party of 4 or larger so that you can sample more of the menu. And, they should add one more order kiosk and add one more person to cut the meat in order to move the line quicker. I could eat this BBQ every week. Bon Appétit!

Highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

my hojicha addiction continues to fuel me as I got the hojicha milk soft serve and a Sakura mochi…read more The soft serve is the Hokkaido milk flavor and they have a really strong concentrate of hojicha syrup put on top! I find the syrup rly good, a little nutty chocolatey, but some may find it too strong and bitter, possible burnt taste. I find it good, but bc it's a concentrated flavor I can see others not being a big fan. The sakura mochi is rly good! Very floral flavor and I liked it a lot, but the texture of the mochi was a bit off. I think it's bc I went around 8pm (an hour before they close) so the mochi was probably not as fresh as it could be, but that's on me. The location is shared with a boba tea place (yi fang) so if you wanted ice cream and boba as a late night treat, perfect opportunity!! That's why my sibling and I like to come here for a sweet treat variety and they have some nice seating around. It's also the arts district so it's nice to just walk around the area as well to chat with whoever ur with. I usually get street parking, but allegedly you can park in the the apt structure and get parking validation for 2 hrs (?)

Well...the experience turned out to be a big disappointment. I won't be returning. - The girl who served us, didn't make us feel welcome. She made us feel like we were more of a nuisance or bother rather than a valued customer. - The Matcha and Hokkaido Milk soft serves were mediocre at best. Go to Tea Masters for Matcha soft serve. Their Matcha soft serve is extremely better. The Hokkaido Milk soft serve had an artificial after taste. - Beware, their soft serve is a complete rip off. It's hollow on the inside.

So i am a bit confused about the photos here, because there is an actual restaurant looking place,…read moresome little cart and a food truck. Hopefully they are all related. My review is based on the food truck. It was my son's birthday. He was allowed to chose anything he wanted for dinner. Any price point... anything. Well i had seen this on Instagram and shared it with him two weeks prior. At first he wanted to go to Nobu or there were a few other high end options, but that is not his style honestly. Luckily, he remembered the post that I shared. He wanted to go here. Well, buckle up kids, we are going on a field trip! We left work/schools early and took a drive to Compton. When our navigation said we had arrived it suggested we park in the lot across from the library. Ok. There directly in front of the library was the food truck. There was a small line, so that was ideal. Not a long wait. My other smaller human and i went to wash their hands in the library. When i came out he had ordered the hungry man or something. It was more than enough for us. The oxtail was good. The ribs were good. The chicken was good. The cornbread was yummy. Just not over the moon for the greens... and i loooove collard greens. But that's ok. We went for the meats. They were out of the dinosaur ribs, so maybe if we go early enough next time, we can try those. We took it across the street to the park and ate and that was enough time for the small one to also play to get energy out before we headed home. The drive home was long, now that rush hour traffic had started. But none of us complained, because the meal was worth it.
