Came here specifically for the baked breads, and honestly -- every single one was a winner. The quality you get for the price is kind of amazing. The bread here is just so good. Chewy, flavorful, and clearly made with care and I'm totally in love with their focaccia. It's chewy, fluffy, airy, light, and perfectly seasoned. I could eat this every day and not get tired of it. It's also priced very reasonably at $9 for an approximately 8" x 4" piece. Another standout is the blue corn sourdough. Not your typical sourdough as the blue corn adds this really nice, subtle corn flavor. It's not overwhelming at all, just enough to make it unique and memorable. I actually made the mistake of ordering the regular sourdough once and was honestly a little bummed after having the blue corn version. For this giant loaf it'll cost you a heafty $13, not, as this loaf will last you for a while. I even keep it in the fridge after a week and the texture is still just as good as the first day we bought it. Highly recommend this one. We also tried the milk bread ($13 9" long), and that was delicious too -- soft, slightly sweet, and super satisfying. Hot tip: if you're buying multiple focaccia (like I did -- no shame), don't stack them on top of each other. They're so light and fluffy that they'll get squished, and that's just a tragedy for bread this good. I already know I'll be back again and again for my bread fix. Sad that they are no longer in SJC but sooooo happy for them that they are doing so well! Well deserved! My first time at their location in Santa Ana. I was a bit worried about the line but it went fairly quickly (don't forget your sunglasses though because it can get hot on a sunny day!). Of course I got the sourdough bread loaf as well as the Japanese milk bread. I added pastries and wow!!!! The ube croissant definitely lives up to its hype! Sooo delicious. The cinnamon roll was topped off with a thick creamy frosting which was phenomenal but the best part was that the bottom outer edges were CANDIED and crispy. Very very good bakery. I have gotten their sourdough loaf and some pastries including the croissant and chocolate croissant and everything is very good. The pastries are all amazing and the bread is also really good. The worst thing about this bakery is thatt the parking and the line are awful depending on the time, you can spend over 20 minutes circling the area to find parking just to wait another 30-60 minutes waiting in line without shade if you do plan to come make sure you come right when it opens or an hour before they close and you won't have to wait as long. Tucked away in the French Park area of Santa Ana, a stone's throw from the Amtrak/Metrolink station, is one coolest bakeries. Their traditional breads and pastries have fun Asian twists. My recent first visit was fruitful. On this particular Friday (30 mins after opening), Mary was a line so in I went. The blue corn masa sourdough was gorgeous. It stayed moist for days and made for amazing sandwiches and toast. The blue corn was ever so subtle. The big winner was the sourdough milk loaf. It became the house favorite and disappeared quickly. The soft and slightly sweet slices were oftentimes just toasted and eaten plain. Even better with a schmear of buerre de bavette. During the holiday season, the intrepid bakers roll out panettone. Via their IG stories, they chronicled how it's made over the course of 3-4 days. Lots of care and lots of love. They kept on experimenting this year so while I got my hands on their dark chocolate chunk panettone, they ended the season with a dark chocolate chunk and candied orange panettone. I've never had a fresh one before and it was really quite nice. Moist and light as a feather...and a nice hit of yeast. The pastries can be a lot of fun here. My breakfast that morning was their laminated soy glazed gochujang and charred scallion roll...this ultra savory cinnamon roll. A blue corn muffin was topped with a dollop of honey butter. It was uber moist and my chowpup ate it cupcake sandwich style. The Monkey Kouign is their play on both monkey bread and Kouign Aman, and that was a solid hit. The tomato tart was laminated-based and tasted of a lovely cheese pizza. I did not get a chance to try to ube cruffin. But I hear it was great. They've quickly gained fame for their Filipino recipes. Fan favorites include the blue corn sourdough, ube cruffin, and blue corn masa cornbread. I couldn't go home empty handed, so I ordered a little bit of everything: focaccia bread, ube cruffin, pumpkin cream cheese cookie, sun dried tomato croissant, and a baguette filled with thinly sliced pork. My favorite item by far was the sundried tomato croissant. I will be adding this to my 'last meal on earth' list. It was savory, buttery, crispy.. all my favorite things. It was extremely buttery & flaky for their pain au chocolat, savory for their tomato & cheese pastry, but their ube cruffin was just a bit too sweet for me. The service made up for it though, very sweet and attentive workers. They even offered samples of the rosemary sourdough focaccia bread & their panettone bread, which my boyfriend and I enjoyed thoroughly. There's fair seating outside and some in the front, so it's good for families and large groups of friends to sit down & relax to enjoy pastries together. I just wish the hours were more extended! The crust is nice and lightly toasted with a buttery finish. This is great! Chocolate croissant - had this with my morning coffee. Texture was perfect but was a little too sweet for the wife and I. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit feel extra special. The only "problem"? I keep ordering everything again and again . I even brought my grandma and mom for their first visit, and they loved every bite already planning their next trip back. Love the regular sourdough loaf. Great crust and super light and fluffy on the inside - 4.5 stars. The butter is alright, but I can't say it's better than the grass fed butter I purchase I at Costco - 3.5 stars. The sweet croissant was pretty good. I thought it said cheese and jalapeno but there seems to be none. I don't know if I was given the wrong one. Got a oaxaca cheese savory sauce thing which was so so good. Chocolate croissant was on point. Parking can be a little difficult. There's some tables out front and in the back. Since the lines can be long. Already thinking about my next visit. Met up with some friends last Thursday morning. Parking is tough -- arrive early or fight for street parking. I luckily found a spot right in front. There was already a line forming at 9am, and it took me about 10 mins of waiting before reaching the front and selecting my pastries. I ordered the gochujang roll, ube cruffin, tomato roll, and the chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious, but my personal favorites were the gochujang roll and the cookie. I also ordered an iced latte with ube foam. Not a strong coffee flavor but very beautiful for pictures. I tried my friend's rosemary latte, and I would get that next time. Service was very friendly and knowledgable. There's no indoor seating, but there's outdoor seating in front and lots in the back. read more
