Pizza is good and garlic twists are a family favorite. I would like to give it a higher rating but their service is terrible. The phones don't get answered half the time. Then the greeting and assistance for the order is usually very short and unhelpful. The last three times I have arrived and the order has then been wrong and not ready at the time they say it would be. No apology or acknowledgement of the mistakes. I haven't dined in, so I can't comment on that service, but the pick up/to go service has been awful and it's clear the employees don't have a customer service mentality. read more

I love their pizza! Our pizza chef, Mark, told us all about what they have to offer. I like the slight sweetness to their sauce. I got a very tasty Moscow Mule to drink. Altogether a very good meal. I'll definitely be back for a pizza next time I'm in town. read more

Service and quality has really gone downhill. Used to love coming here. One of the things we like is that they will cut pizza in squares and today when I ordered I asked 3 times to make sure it is square cut. I get there and look and neither pizza was correct. The manager explained that it is a new guy and he is being trained and didn't understand what square cut meant. Seems like he would have asked or he would have had someone helping him. Darn. Went to AJ's to sit outside and have a glass of wine for our anniversary. Unfortunately we were seated outside and no waiter or waitress came out to serve us. We waited an appropriate amount of time and...nothing. What a huge disappointment given we just moved to Chesterton and looked forward to trying the restaurants in our area. We attended a graduation party last night. We had a large party and the evening couldn't have been any nicer. First impression was the happy staff and the place was spotless. We were seated right away. The host and hostess of the party placed the order a little early so the pizzas came out a few minutes after we sat down. In my opinion a server can make or break your evening. We had an amazing server. She was cheerful. She took good care of us answered our questions about a certain beer and answered my questions about the tequila. My margarita was delicious and very reasonable too If you want good food drinks and SERVICE this is the place to go. I will be back and encourage others to give it a try. read more

We went on a Thursday night. The pizza was good, but the noise bouncing off of the high tin ceiling was horrendous, we couldn't hear each other talk! My kids and I stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn across the parking lot. They were thrilled to have pizza for dinner and I was thrilled that beer, wine, and cocktails were on the sign! AJ's Pizza didn't disappoint! We had a nice casual dinner - pizza, salad, a martini for me, and it was very affordable. Our server was a bit flustered at first, she had a very large party next to us, but was very attentive and personable. My salad and martini were excellent and the kids were happy with the pizza. Personally, I wasn't impressed with the pizza- it seemed a little underdone. I prefer that a thin crust pizza have a more crisp crust. This was so soft I needed to eat it with a fork. The flavor was good, though the sauce was sweet as others had noted. Overall, a pleasant dinner and way better than the usual offerings adjacent to a roadside motel! read more

I had never had AJ's Pizza before and I was excited to try it because I had remembered to actually order it. I pretty much wasted my time and money. First of all I ordered a pizza and fried pickles and was told 45 mins for pick up. No problem. I get there 45 minutes later and they didn't have my order under the right name after I repeated 3 times over the phone, honest mistake whatever. Then they had my order incorrect. Correct pizza but had twists instead of fried pickles, again whatever honest mistake. But then I have to wait an extra 25 minutes while I'm sitting there. No apologies the entire time. I get home to enjoy the pizza and it's completely soggy.l and very undercooked. That was the final straw. Waiting an hour and 10 minutes for a soggy pizza just set me off. Never ordering again and will never recommend to anyone. Sorry that just was an awful experience. read more

I visited this place just because we were hu hey and happened to see it......we enjoyed the stuffed crust meat pizza well done as I ALWAYS order anywhere. I thought that it was well made had a good crust sweet sauce and for a pepperoni hater, I could tell they were quality pepperoni because it was not greasy at all....the staff did seem a bit young or maybe unorganized...the right management could make a good staple from this place.....thinking of taking my children tomorrow, if I do I surely will post our experience read more

Hubby and I tried AJ's on a Wednesday. Restaurant is clean, servers are friendly and attentive. The pizza, however, lacked flavor. The sauce is sweet, with no oregano or seasonings. The crust in the middle of the pizza was so thin, you couldn't pick up a slice to eat it. We were hoping for a new favorite place in town. Sadly, we won't be back. read more

I have had dinner and lunch here multiple times over the last month (work travel). Not one bad or disappointing meal at AJ's. Some of the better pizza I've had! And the "stuffed" pizza with breading on top is one-of-a-kind. Really puts a nice twist on a classic. Subs are alllllll great! Salads always fresh and crisp. Terrible place they ran out of sausage. You read that right no sausage for your pizza! The sauce for the bread twist tasted like canned tomato sauce. And we had fruit flies all over our table.
