For lunch today I got their grape leaves and veggie combo platter and believe me you these flavors are so absolutely divine it's beyond! I had no idea grape leaves existed prior to this review but let me tell you I'm so thrilled I'm finally to the party because these unassumingly looking morsels are juicy, tangy and so yummy with just the right amount of sass! I swear they must be gay because they are that good! Ugh!!! As for the veggie combo platter like again what the hell?! The hummus is so smooth, creamy and oh so flavorful and pairs perfectly with the warm pita bread. The falafels are crispy but still tender and slightly moist on the inside. Yes, I said moist bitxh. The salad is fresh and exciting. The side with parsley and other cute little things makes such the perfect wingman for the platter. I always get the #2.... why mess with a good thing? I'm really picky about falafel. In my opinion, it's either amazing or terrible; There's no in between. Today I decided to switch it up and the falafel at Al Basch is amazing. Crisp on the outside, light and moist on the inside. You can tell it's made fresh to order. I have had the pleasure of smelling the wonderful food smell coming from this place for months when I drive by. I have ordered from them on yelp and have been extremely satisfied with the food, the price, and the amount you get! I had never actually been inside the restaurant and wanted to wait to write my review until I had a chance to come in. I tried to park in the lot but it was full. There is some street parking but usually occupied by the people at the Ralph's across the street. I ended up ordering online and picking up. The restaurant it self is tucked away in the corner of the strip mall but is so worth it. It is relatively small with smiling faces inside. And super clean! I've gotten chicken shawarma plate and the beef shawarma plate both with no rice extra salad, with an order of baba ghanouj. The amount of beef and chicken you get is enough for two meals! The salad is crisp and fresh, and the hummus is so good it goes down easy! Both the chicken shawarma and beef shawarma are full of flavor. The baba ghanouj is smoky and chunky which I love! You also get some pita for it but I prefer to eat it by the fork full :) I'll definitely be back! read more

We came here at 930 on a Friday night. The place is empty but you can tell it's popular due to the to go to orders in the kitchen. We got the chicken schwarma sandwiches (wraps) and they were so good! Very flavorful. We got the tzatziki sauce and I didn't even need it, it was that good. My gf used it tho and was happy with it. Very fair prices too. We got the small sandwich and it was $15 for 2 of them after tax. 1.99 for a canned soda. Knocking off one star bc I heard them call our order ready in the back but it still took awhile for them to bring it out. Enough time where I got up and asked if it were ready because I wanted our food and there was nobody in the dining room but plenty of staff behind the counter. I love Mediterranean Food. I am Greek so I grew up eating Greek Salads and Spanakopia. I used to live down the block from this new restaurant when it first opened years ago. I immediately fell in love with their wonderful authentic fresh food. The chicken breast is marinated and tender, the dolmas are tasty and flavorful. Solid for the price! Friendly staff and quick (relatively) healthy lunch or dinner plate options for as low as $5.99. I got the white meat (chicken breast) plate that comes with rice, salad and hummus for $6.99. My bf got the dark meat plate (leg and thigh) that comes with the same sides for $5.99. The chicken portions are small. The flavor is good enough. They aren't generous with the rice but it's enough food to fill you up. We paid a total of $14 and change for dinner for two, which is a win in my book! read more

Great quality Lebanese food! We ordered through Grubhub via Yelp and it was delivered within 25 minutes of ordering. The falafel pita was perfectly portioned and I loved that it wasn't too crispy. Their tahini sauce is delicious and small touch of mint inside the sandwich was bomb! The chicken kabob plate was yummy and cooked well. It came with hummus, salad and rice; all of which were great! I expected more from this restaurant after seeing the 5 star reviews. I ordered the popular chicken sharwarma plate. It was extremely salty and I had to drink water for hours after my meal. Big portions and yes the pita was served cold as other reviews have stated. Why all that salt ?? It really makes me wonder about the quality of the meat they are using. AL Basch is my new go to Mediterranean take out place. I am forever faithful and loyal. Never heard of it before, and it was just a random choice made by a friend for dinner. We were a group of 5, and we ordered take out through Postmates. We got the chicken kabob plate, the beef shawarma, beef Kafka, grape leaves, hummus, French fries, and a plate of falafels. A bag of pita bread came along with it - like 7 pita slices were in there. Each plate came with rice and salad, and they were good sized portions! Both the beef and chicken were tender, juicy, and delicious. Grapes leaves were fresh and seasoned to perfection. French fries lowkey reminded me of McDonalds fries and let's be real, McDonald's fries are bomb so. The winner though goes to the falafels, oh my gah. So. Good. They were crispy on the outside, and moist and flavorful in the inside. I absolutely loved the contrast. I would highly recommend and will definitely make a return. Wow! Yum! I live in Torrance, but was in the area and hungry. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The employees were super friendly and helpful. Helped my mom and I decide what to order. We were tired and starving and needed some guidance :) We both ended up with a single chicken skewer plate. They happily accommodated our "white meat only" request. The chicken was super flavorful and tender. A first, it seemed a bit salty but as I continued I found it to be perfect (and I did not feel anything after, which sometimes happen if food IS salty). I am a bit salt sensitive. The rice was delicious and plentiful, and it came with a little salad with house ranch dressing. The hummos was perfect, as well. I wish this gem was in my neighborhood, because I would eat there at least once per week! read more

This is by far, my favorite mediterranean/middle eastern restaurant in LA. I live in the Valley and have tried some good places out here, but this little spot in the corner of a strip mall, on Sunset and Fuller, just west of the Hollywood Ralph's, has fantastic food. The falafels are freshly made, warm, soft, and delicious. The mediterranean salad is crisp, and the Beef Kabob is perfectly cooked. I have eaten here several times and the food quality is consistent and always excellent. The service is great as well, from both the owners and their staff. They've allowed to me make substitutions and offered suggestions to customize my meal so it has all I want on one plate. They really make you feel at home here. The garlic sauce was tasty (I used all of it). *Tip order extra tzatziki sauce! Ordered 3 small containers of tzatziki (about 2 tablespoons in each). I will give my honest feedback, I would have liked to have seen more meat on my plate. The rice was plated underneath the meat which made it appear to be a nice portion of meat but it was sparse. Great for a quick and relatively cheap bite! I had the beef/chicken shawarma plate and both types of meat were quite tender. The hummus was just okay and the pita bread was thin and cold. Would have been a thousand times better if we had been served warm pita. The salad was average and the garlic sauce was delicious. The rice was also a bit disappointing as I usual enjoy the rice at shawarma spots. Service was also questionable. The cashier who took our order was not very friendly and quite curt with us. The same guy who managed the RORo's location actually opened his own place and I'm a sucker for always supporting local small businesses! Location: plaza adjacent to the Ralph's. Parking: small lot but didn't have a problem. It's shared with other business, a donut shop, massage, hair salon etc. Food: I ordered the veggie skewers plate! It was nice and healthy. I'll definitely try the falafel next as that's always my fave (non-meat eater here). Interior: nice and clean and they have a TV and you can see into the kitchen area where they prepare your food. I never want to move from where I live because, well, then I might not be able to walk to AL Basch Chicken every other day! Seriously! I FINALLY stopped in for some shawarma after driving by to my house 10 billion times... and I am SO SO SO SO SO GLAD I DID because hot damn was that friggin' delicious!! My friend and I ordered at the counter, STARVING, this I ordered extra chicken. I figured they'd just give me one measly ounce more but... NOPE!! After accidentally putting dressing on the salad I requested without dressing, they made me a whole new plate that was pretty much ALL chicken, and I loved EVERY SINGLE BITE. Everyone one cause I finished the whole damn plate and then wanted more! The flavors were EXACTLY how I like them. Salty, garlicky, just utterly marvelous! One of my favorite shawarma joints in Roro's Chicken down the street and well, I no longer need to go there because this chicken shawarma knocked me off my feet AND... it's closer to where I live! I warn you though, if you do drive, parking could wind up being an issue, if you can't find a spot in the lot, but circling around a few times until you snag one, 100% worth it! read more

Fast forward to the current visit Friday April 27. On this occasion I had the #8 Combo. Lule, Beef and Chicken. While we waited, Maurice was so nice to let us try out the Chicken Shawarma, Oh man, such an intense flavor is possible out of Shawarma (chicken). I was told this place was top notch for Shawarma, and now I am a believer. The beef was equally impressive. Not only will they go the extra mile to accommodate your order how you want, they will gladly do it with the "Customer First" attitude we all love as a customer. The Lule beef is well seasoned and cooked just right, juicy and flawless. The chicken Sishkabobs were also generously seasoned and just the juiciest I've had so far. The beef Sishkabobs were the star for me, I totally had that clean well prepared beefy flavor delivered by cuts such as the favored Filet mignon or the New York steak. Overall i am currently in a food crush with Al Basch Chicken. But like I say, don't take my word for it. I just give you my opinion. It is ultimately your job as a "fair" reviewer to stop and give Al Basch Chicken a try. You will thank me for it later. As for Maurice, I love what you've done with the place.
