Reservation was honored on time, despite the lobby being clogged with 49ers Football fans who were waiting to get a glimpse of the team that was staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel where this restaurant is located. The menu has a heavy tilt toward Italian cuisine and the entrees we ordered were well executed, with strong flavor profiles and served at a proper temperature, plated in an appetizing manner. The menu is simple enough and offers a Lunch Combo of Soup or Salad and 1/2 sandwich for $20. An up charge of $4 allows you to choose a smaller portion of one of their pasta dishes which was still an amazingly generous portion. Our reason for choosing Andare was based on its proximity to The Paramount Theater and online reviews. Just about a 4 minute walk to the venue and the food was delicious. Only stumble was the service which was a bit slow and while the bar was jammed, the tables in the restaurant were less than half full. Service was still polite and efficient. They leave a bottle of water on the table so you can refill your own water, and they added an automatic 18% gratuity to the check for a party of 3, which was odd but fine. Even though the service was a bit slow, I probably would have still left 20% because the math is simple. I imagine if you were in the hotel for dinner you would be headed to Daniel's Broiler. But if you want a tasty lunch at a reasonable price in a nice setting, this is a solid choice. read more

This will be quick. It doesn't deserve much attention as this restaurant should be nothing more than a quick glance as one walks down the street and then moves along. It held promise based upon the menu but delivered deception and disappointment. I ordered a Coke and spaghetti and meatballs. What I got was a very expensive can of Coke and a paltry portion of spaghetti and one meatball. Generally, at least when communicating in English, when an "s" is included at the end of a noun, one can expect more than one of something. They could have included at least two meatballs so it wasn't a classic fib. And in case you wonder, "but how was the pasta?" Let me just say it was undercooked two (plural) levels below al dente. You would have thought that for the price they would have provided bread with the food. But no! I gave it one stars only because it is in a nice hotel. What an amazing hotel restaurant! We just got into town and wanted to do a quick dinner and were blown away by the service, food and comfort of the staff. Laem was amazing and one of the best restaurant servers we've ever had. Was so great to our daughter and made the dinner incredibly special. Food was excellent and unsure why this isn't rated higher. We got the calamari (5/5), margarita pizza (5/5), spaghetti and clams (4.5/5), fettuccini Alfredo (/5), and chocolate cheesecake (4/5). Pretty good restaurant within the Hyatt Regency hotel. I went with a group of 6 friends for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant got us a table very quickly despite not having a reservation! The rest of the wait times for food ordering and arrival were medium to long. Waiter was friendly and gave us good drink recommendations. Food was great, but seemed a little expensive for what it was, specifically for the pizza. The portion of pasta was pretty small too, though the pastas are pricer cheaper. I'm visiting Seattle for a conference and this restaurant is in the Hyatt Regency. The bar was full of conference attendees but the restaurant was empty. (My appetite is on central time). I started with an Italian margarita. Great flavor and not too much alcohol. The tomato basil soup was next and it was amazing. Great flavor with visible herbs and a nice bit of grated cheese. The linguini entree was just the right temperature with loads of flavor. Chives, sun dried tomatoes and garlic with a creamy sauce. What a great meal! And I'm here 3 more days. I'm only posting this because I got so excited seeing other posts about the calamari that I had to go try it Wednesday. In previous photos it came with red sauce (which you would expect from an Italian restaurant) and sometimes also a white sauce (tartar)? Mine came with some kind of smoky (chipotle?) sauce. The steam from the calamari made the batter gooey or just plain fall off. And there were peppers or something also in the dish. I've never eaten such good food! My mom and I ordered Steak with crispy herb bread pudding, egg yolk jam, brown butter leek sauce, and charred cipolinnis, and strawberry lemonade. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The steaks were the perfect temperature. The strawberry lemon hit the perfect balance between sweet and tart. We were especially inpressed by the crispy, savory bread pudding. We basically licked our plates clean. The meals came out quickly, even with a packed restaurant. Dinner for two; ordered Chop Salad and asked for Gorgonzola on the side. Arrives with it mixed in and the server mumbles something about being an hourly worker when we asked about the mistake. Huh? Spaghetti Carbonara comes and it's impossible to find the pancetta because the dish is just a large blob of cheesy overcooked pasta (see image). 1-1/2 stars because the focaccia was good. Barely. Came here with my parents for a holiday dinner, only get to see them a few times a year when they come to Seattle and we stopped by Andare for food and drinks and everything was superb, all the food was good and the drinks were excellent. Jordan's service was incredible, his attitude and personality was fun and he made the meal perfect. From adding fried chicken breast to pasta and the right portions for each, his knowledge of the menu made hard choices easy. So many good things were on the menu! Still I want to write a review regarding the awesome service she provided. She was patient with my Indecision, allowed me to taste the olives before ordering them. Visiting for a conference and popped in Andare for breakfast. It is located in the Hyatt so I was a little skeptical but truly had a good experience. Very reasonable priced breakfast buffet that had all the staple but also we strong on fresh fruit and cut oatmeal. Also, you can order if the menu and everything is included in the buffet price. Both drinks and dinner were below mediocre. For drinks, we ordered the Mule and the Witch's Wine. The Mule was awful... Primary taste was LIME. The Witch's Wine was an average drink. I admit that our server mentioned it was a "spirit forward" cocktail, we just think it would be all we tasted. For dinner, we ordered the Baked Ziti and the Gnocchi. The ziti was undercooked & chewy, with the bread crumbs adding an unpleasant texture that did not add to the flavor of the dish. The gnocchi was bland and the sauce was 'tangy tomato', something akin to a canned pasta flavor. With that said, we want to provide kudos to our server Abraham. My family and I were staying at the Hyatt that this restaurant is located in, so we decided to get dinner here after a long afternoon / evening roaming around downtown Seattle and Pike Place. This was on a Friday night so a lot of the restaurants that we tried to go to in downtown had super long wait times. Luckily, when we got to Andare, they seated us immediately and we put in our order shortly after. We got a pizza and a pasta to split among the three of us, which was the perfect amount of food if you don't want to be overly stuffed. The carne pizza was quite good and I loved the variety of meats that it comes with, but I felt that the tomato sauce was a bit too sour for my liking (though that didn't take too much away from my overall experience). The fettuccini carbonara was also delicious and definitely my favorite of the two dishes! The sauce was perfectly creamy and not too heavy, and the pancetta added a great salty flavor to the pasta. My parents who usually aren't huge fans of pasta dishes also loved this carbonara :) Overall, this is definitely a good spot for food especially if you're staying at the Hyatt. What a lovely experience we had last weekend at Andare. First of all, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing but feels upscale. Tucked in the back of the hotel, but you won't feel like you're in a hotel restaurant. Service was excellent, which is saying something for this current environment hospitality is in. You can tell the staff really want you to have a good experience. Our server was Lauren and she was so great! We brought our toddler and everyone was so sweet to her! Even after she threw food all over the floor. I am sucker for a good chicken dish, and this one did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked chicken with risotto and french beans. 5 stars for the crispy skin. I honestly usually hate green beans, but these were delicious. We also had the eggplant parm sandwich (great option for vegetarians - which honestly there are a ton of options for vegetarians!) and a beet salad. The beet salad was actually my favorite part of the meal! Even our toddler loved it! PS we have gotten the trofie pasta multiple times too and it is so so so good. Pro tip- get it with the meatballs! Two stars for great service and decent atmosphere. Wine list was so so but passable. The big surprise was the truly awful Caesar salads we all had. I mean DRY, flavorless, not a hint of any anchovies or any of the normal Caesar dressing flavors. No croutons, but after that was pointed out we were brought a couple of small dishes of bread crumbs, yes Breadcrumbs, to sprinkle on. The salad was so dry there was no dressing clinging to any of our salad plates. There was not a hint of any creaminess. It was like Kraft Parmesan sprinkled on moist lettuce. When we asked for an itemized bill, we noticed an 18% "service charge" tacked on *after* tax, which is basically a tip they didn't tell us about. We almost double-tipped! And for what? I'm pouring my own water! At this rate, I might as well serve myself from the kitchen. That whole bill situation left a worse taste in my mouth than the food. We always tip, but come on--what service were we even tipping for? Don't charge us without telling us! It feels like you're scamming every customer who walks in. 1st time here to take advantage of 15% discount to season subscribers of the 5th Ave Theater. This is the first time this restaurant appeared on the list. Very modern surroundings. The menu looked ordinary but each dish was different from what we expected in unique and flavorful ways. It is not often that I pleasantly surprised by a preparation I have not tried before. Nice restaurant, accommodating service, and tasty food, at a reasonable price! The managers Loren, Maddie, and Mark and Chef Katy accommodated gluten free, dairy free, poultry free, and hot/cooked food without salt, within my budget ($18 for lunch and dinner respectively and $12 for breakfast). They even arranged to bring ingredients to make the dishes they do not serve, to help me survive and function during a conference. Chef Katy's clams and rice tasted wonderful. I had the clam dish every day. Their pizza looked so good, so I tried even though that was not the arranged plan. The best gluten free and dairy free pizza I've ever had. They also brought the pizza on a metal plate with 2 layers to help the water from the hot pizza not make the pizza soggy. The same price for gluten free and dairy free pizza as the regular pizza ($21) is a big plus as well. The couches were comfortable, and being able to see people making doughs was fun as well. I arrived after a very long day of travel only to find out you need a reservation. I didn't have one, but after I spoke of my exhaustion they were kind enough to seat me at a window bar. I ordered a cucumber martini and it took forever to get it. It was delicious once it arrived. The Andare salad was nice and the meatballs were in a spicy marinara sauce and tasty as well. I was too full to even eat a bite of the pita bread that came with the meatballs. I love the ambiance, but Seattle is only at 50% capacity for restaurants so a little challenging to find dining. I would recommend this place, not only because it's convenient for guests of the hotel, but also because you can order large or small. Drawback: automatic surcharge added to your bill. I was here during lunch and got the two for 23 deal. Wasnt interested in a breadt sandwhich so I got the sausage and kale soup and the ceasar salad with shrimp and parmesean crusted foccaia. The ceasar salad was one of the most disappointing ceasar I've had. Most of the time ceasar salads are a little over dressed for my taste but this one was just shone the bottle at most. On top of that the salad was missing the croutons and shaved parmesan. With such a disappointing salad the kale soup was such a nice contrast. Andare has a cool, open vibe with lots of light and an impressive display of wines. However, the food selection was a bit underwhelming. We went for restaurant week and had meatballs, Caesar salad, and chicken masala for our three courses. Each was fine but had nothing special to them. This was the first time I've ever had a breaded chicken masala, and I was a bit overwhelmed by the crispy texture mingled with the abundance of sauce.
