sticky rice mango pancakes and hot asian omelet!
    Leslie S.

This place is the place to be. Super cute vibes in and out, and the menu is unbeatable. I had their baja baby skillet, and it was a little spicy but still delish. The chorizo was pretty greasy, and I wouldn't get this again. But trying my mom's hot asian omelet made me envious because it was so fluffy and not oily at all. I need to get that myself the next time I am here. I think what really influenced me to give this restaurant a 5 is due to their famous mango sticky rice pancakes. The sauce is soooooo good. The pancakes taste like they were made using rice flour. Wasn't heavy at all. You need to try these!!! I can't wait to come again for these pancakes and eat some more of their yummy brunch meals.

Like I mentioned before, my family and I are on a mission to try 1-2 new breakfast spots each month because of how much we love breakfast food. This was the second stop on our list, and it turned out to be a great choice. Since the restaurant is on the smaller side, it can get pretty crowded on weekends. We decided to go on a weekday morning instead and were seated right away, which made for a relaxed start to our meal. The menu has a solid variety of options, so we already know we'll be back to try more. For food, my wife ordered the Monte Cristo along with a passion fruit lemonade. The sandwich was good overall, though it leaned a bit more savory than I personally prefer--I tend to like my Monte Cristos on the sweeter side, so I would've preferred a little less mustard. That said, the passion fruit lemonade was excellent and an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys a refreshing, fruity drink. I went with the Belly Bomb Panini and added sausage to take it up a notch. Flavor-wise, it delivered, but the bread did get soggy fairly quickly. It didn't bother me much, though I know texture can be a dealbreaker for some people. What really stood out for me was the Starburst lemonade--it was easily my favorite drink of the meal, and I couldn't get enough of it. For our son, we ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Sauce Pancakes, which ended up being a hit for all of us. He especially loved them, and honestly, we didn't even need syrup. The combination of the sticky rice sauce, whipped cream, and mango created the perfect balance of sweetness. My only wish is that the portion came with a bit more sauce and fruit. Overall, we were really happy with both our visit and our food choices. There are definitely some standout items here that are worth trying, and we're looking forward to coming back and adding more favorites to our list.

Food looks beautiful but sadly no flavor!! The eggs were soaking wet ( I ordered scrambled eggs) I ask to send them back and the gentleman offered for them to cook them more! By this he meant taking the eggs that sat for 15 minutes wet next to me until he returned to ask us how we were doing then they tried recooking the eggs! Mind you when you order you pay! You have no idea what you're getting yourself into until it's in front of you. Staff was friendly but unfortunately the seasoning wasn't in the food and that egg incident will keep me from returning I forgot to mention that the mimosas are overly priced and really distasteful! Had I known it was coming room temperature in a plastic cup mixed the syrup I would've passed! Taste like Andre's which gave me a terrible headache The one star is due to having leave one for the review to post

Walked to Arize this morning, glad we did! Arrived a little after 10:00 joined the waiting list and called within 10 minutes. You enter and order, greeted by a very friendly cashier. She answered questions and offered suggestions. We split the sausage biscuit and mango sticky rice pancakes. My friend got an iced coconut americano. The biscuit was tasty, two sausage patties with 2 slices of American cheese and came with red skinned potatoes. The pancakes were very light and fluffy with mango & whipped cream. The mango sticky rice syrup was tasty but not too sweet. We were both full and plan to back to try waffles!

Mango sticky rice pancakes were super yummy 10/10. They have a little crispy edge action going on if you like that. Outdoor seating was nice. Definitely coming back next weekend for chicken & waffles.

Food was amazing overall! It's a small shop vibe with a very small dog friendly patio. Service was so kind and attentive - gives you a real family vibe! Mango Sticky Rice pancakes were to die for!! Never had such a good flavor sauce, usually other places taste really artificial but this was tasty. Chicken all around for every plate was great, maybe a little dry but well seasoned. Coconut rice ia the choice of rice to go! Will be back when I'm craving those pancakes and waffles.

Really wanted some French toast sandwiches, and we saw them online so we decided to give them a try. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing inside. There was a hodgepodge of things everywhere. The floor is a little uneven and the furniture doesn't really match, but sometimes those kinds of places end up being the best, so we decided to still give it a try. The gentleman at the cashier was super friendly. He greeted everybody who walked in, and as people were leaving, he thanked them as well. We arrived around 11-ish, from the time we ordered, we did not get our food until about 57 minutes later. People who came after us received their food before we did, and all we ordered were French toast sandwiches and potatoes. We did also order matcha drinks. I had a matcha coffee drink and my sister had a matcha Thai tea, and those came out about 15 minutes after we ordered. There were a lot of people coming and going while we were there, but it was still surprising that it took so long for our food to come out. We asked for our sandwiches to not have mayo, but they still came with mayo. Also, the sandwich itself was super soggy. It tasted like wet bread. Usually French toast has a crisp outer layer and a soft center, but this was more like soggy bread with meat, cheese, and mayo, which was very underwhelming. The breakfast potatoes were delicious, they were cooked to perfection. My matcha coffee was also really good. It looked really cute before I shook it up, and the flavors meshed very well. I tried my sister's matcha Thai tea too, and it was even better than mine. If I do return, it will probably just be for the matcha drinks. Customer service was good, but slow, it's just unfortunate how long the food took and how the sandwiches turned out.

This is definitely a solid brunch spot in Long Beach. I came here last weekend with a few friends, and we were pretty early, about 10am, so finding seating was easy. You order at the front and then they'll bring your food out to you, so no one is really checking on you throughout your dining experience. I ordered the Thai tea boba pancakes and the fried chicken biscuit. The pancakes were not bad, but very unique to add boba on top I thought! The fried chicken was pretty tasty and definitely a lot more chick n than biscuit. The biscuit was thick and dense, but still good. Overall, a good solid breakfast!

I can't say much about the ambiance as I didn't sit down. Got to-go order, it was fast in preparation. They have an online order service, which I enjoy very much. In the to-go order, I feel that the price was worth the amount of food we received. I had to take a break and eat the 1/4 residual for a later brunch. Definitely on the radar to go again!

    Baja Baby Skillet

Ate here last week with my parents after my cousin recommended it so much. Parking is on the street, parking meter most likely. That's what we did anyway. We were greeted by a friendly face. She was very patient as we were first timers here and even recommended some of the more popular items, such as the chicken & waffles plate and the mango rice pancakes. My parents opted for the Baja Baby Skillet which they shared. A bit odd that they don't offer toast with their breakfast plates; instead you get a biscuit. What we all really enjoyed was that salad on their plate. I would take that over toast anyway. So good! The potatoes seemed a bit overcooked for my preference, but good flavor. I ordered the mixed berries French toast and scrambled eggs a la carte. I was surprised by the amount of egg I got but honestly, I was disappointed with the French toast. They claim "4 triangles" which is usually 2 pieces of bread cut in half diagonally, but this was literally just one slice cut in 4 triangles. It was good, but I felt deceived. Haha. I also was expecting mixed berries which is usually any combination of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries; what I got instead was strawberries and two kinds of grapes. No complaints on the fruit as they were delicious and perfect texture. I was just expecting something else. Our coffee was good, a bit on the weaker side but good flavor. We appreciated that they also brought us a bit of milk in addition to the creamer cups. The girl who greeted us and took our order was also who brought us our coffee and food. She checked on us a couple times. Again, very great service, very sweet. I'd return just because of that and maybe try other things on their menu.

Excitement to disappointment really quick First time going here due to people posting how good the food. If you are hungry don't go here. We arrived 11:30am thinking the wait is not that bad. We waited more than an hour which is fine since our kid was sleeping on the car. We got called and ordered food around 12:43am. We ordered hot drinks to have something while waiting and took them a long time to deliver to our surprise it's not hot! We asked our server if they can at least microwave it. Took them a while too! Our food came at 1:35Pm. And they got wife's order wrong. Smh! I got waffle chicken with is good. I will give it 4 stars My wife did not finish her monte Cristo due to not being good but due to disappointment! While eating they decided to fold the umbrella so we are eating under the hot frigging sun! Ps. Restroom needs maintenance. Needed to pee and the lid was full of poop splatter. You also need to pay first when you order so you are held hostage until you get your food. They are seating people more than they can handle so a lot of people are waiting for so long! We see the faces of disappointment. Food : 4 stars Service : 1.5 stars Restroom: nasty Are we going back here?most Definitely not..

Impressive first time experience. Service was on point. We will definitely be back soon. The food was excellent, all perfectly prepared with love, like home cooked meal. My Chicken and Waffles was one of the best I've had. Seasoned to perfection with a flaky crust and moist and juicy inside. Highly recommended.

Basic breakfast, not tasting the Asian fusion. I feel like they miss the opportunity to create amazing dishes. The chicken biscuit was good but missed the spices I would otherwise expect from maybe a Thai flavored fried chicken or any sort of Asian flavors that could have been incorporated. I see on the menu they had more Asian inspired sweet options like mango sticky rice pancakes and boba pancakes though. I didn't try since we aren't sweet breakfast girls. The coconut americano is nice, refreshing. It's an americano made with coconut water. They had a lot of coffee and drink options. This restaurant is very much self serve, you place your order at the front, Pay and get your number and someone will bring it to your table. The server that took the order and brought it to your table was very nice! Condiments in a centralized area so you can help yourself. Cute and cozy vibes. Okay but would not actively crave.

The beef itself was a little chewy and in large pieces. I prefer the meat to be cut a little smaller and would like more lettuce and cucumber. I got a little taste of the spicy fried rice, which was really good. Some of us ordered Thai tea and didn't expect what we received, which was the tea with a Thai tea popsicle. What a treat! We overtipped, to probably compensate for our last visit. However, the new kitchen manager has clearly changed the calamari (10/10 before, 3/10 now, to the point I felt embarrassed that I'd waxed poetic about it to my out of town guests, who didn't have more than a few pieces, and the ones I ate were just to kind of toe a line), and this is pedantic, but sesame buns for the sliders was a weird choice. Meaning, we were spending time together and just moving through the interaction, like clothes in a spin cycle. But going here made our time together mean something more because we had arrived at a space that elevated our mood and spirits. So we were now feeling the suds and splashes of the movement not just in the monotony of the spin. As we entered, I felt like the place was a Chinese Market but indoors. I have never bene to China (I have yet to die so maybe one day my feet will have the chance to step the Great Wall) but I feel like their street vendors would have stands like the seating motif within the main room of this joint. The place was not packed but there was no space within the wooden booths for Conrad and I. I asked for options, and they showed me two different rooms. The first room was the Hao Pen You room which was heavilty yet beautifully decorated with varying red lanterns in the ceiling. Additionally, there was a paper dragon hanging in the ceiling, swimming in the air amidst the lanterns. The host ushered me in, and milaseconds after I felt a quick sense of awe. Not like the one I felt one I saw the Sisteen Chappel, but one that compelled me to snap quick photos of the aerial view. The host understood. She stopped her explanation to give me the space to feel my wow that was delivered in a red envelope. I eventually decided to sit in this room, so there is more detail that I can deliver, but before I do, I did request to see the other room of the house. So we crossed the room with the wooden booths and stepped into an immersive Tiki Bar that gave shipwreck vibes. Like the survivors of shipwreck took what they could from the boat's carcass, and made a great bar in the beach that glowed with the light of jellyfish and had seaweed on the ceiling as decoration that was not stale like mistletoe on a doorway. When Conrad and I sat in the Hao Pen You room, we learned that it was a quasi speak easy. According to history, in the 1800's it was common for Chinese immigrants to visit gambling and opium dens behind laundry rooms to find a space that they could call their own and escape discrimination. I am sure that dens of the past did not have the blazing style of the room I was sitting in, but I did appreciate learning about the history that inspired the room. Only because the pain of the past was reshaped to honor a culture in theatrical and edgy red. Plus, as one of my pictures show, the dragon's face and laser lit eyes, made it seem like a real creature born to this earth, not one simply reserved for myth and Game of Throne episodes. I appreciated the immersive trip to Chinese's lore and history. The reason why I did not give this place 5 stars, was the food. The food in general was (maybe tragically) basic. Conrad did not confirm this fact until we were outside the restaurant. I asked him why did he not share his feelings with our server when she asked? He explained why would he, she did not cook the food, and she could not do anything? And I am from the camp, where honesty matters but I guess it might only matter to me? He might be right what does honest feedback do for a server? Conrad might have been practicing "restaurant politeness" like keep the situation civil because if one becomes a demanding patron or eater then one breaks the social contract and becomes rude. Specifically, Conrad and I had the Vegan Dumplings, the pork buns, and rice wrapped in leaves. And even though we had different bites, and each one had their own flavor profile at the end I can only describe each bite as basic. That is my opinion, and I stand by it, as I should, as every one should. Perhaps this restaurant owns this identity. This might be a place that offers theatrical atmosphere, great drinks, vibes that make a Tuesday special, but their food might be the area that remains standard, and in the final score card the servers of the joint might be ok with that.

We stuck to the basics for our meal, but I thought they were some of the best I've had! Our spring rolls were huge. I usually prefer a thinner, more acidic dipping sauce but their house sauce was actually perfect! I think it was a hoisin based creation. The entrees were well prepared and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice. The pad thai was delicious, authentically drier versus saucy. Eaten with the curry it was a divine bite. The Panang curry sauce was addictive. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items! We found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant, and it was a 30 minute but the hostess said it was no problem. There is also a lot nearby that I'm sure patrons of the many small businesses in this neighborhood use.

We were greeted and helped right away and got a place in the restaurant that fit us well. We ordered the veggie spring roll, tofu soup, beef pad thai and tom yum. The veggie spring roll tasted fresh and the sauce added a nice layer of flavor. Off the bat, the portion sizes for the tom yum and pad thai were VERY generous (from my experiences with Thai restaurants). The pad thai stood out and was absolutely delicious! The service did great with helping us out and attending to our requests. The ambiance was relaxed, and where we sat in the back was cool because there was upbeat music playing loud enough to muffle the surrounding sounds but still soft enough to have conversation at our table without needing to raise our voice. Overall, I'm glad I gave S T Noodle Bar a try! I'd recommend it!

She's always busy, constantly moving, but still makes a point to greet people, check in and talk to our boys. That kind of attention is rare, and you can feel the difference in how the whole place runs. The food is legit. Not just "good enough for LB," it's actually authentic. The crab fried rice is hands down the best fried rice I've had. The flavor and texture are just on point every time. The xiaolongbao is also really solid. I'd compare it to Din Tai Fung. DTF has more variety, but this feels like a more focused, smaller menu that still delivers on quality. If they ever add chocolate xiaolongbao, it would honestly make this place perfect.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating & the staff have been attentive when we're seated in both areas. My friends & I have tried different things but mostly come back for the shrimp Dan mein, beef broccoli, garlic green beans (we always fight over the large) & fried rice. If you're comparing to DTF; xlb, dimsum and cucumbers are okay. They're made differently. But the main entrees definitely beats DTF Parking is easy when I come during dinner I will usually park on the street. There is also garage parking connected to the Whole Foods
