Service was wonderful as we informed them that this was our son's first upscale steakhouse experience. It was my husband's and my favorite steakhouse when we used to live in the city many years ago, but we remembered the steak being a little less salty and more tender. We ordered the porterhouse for two with creamed spinach, and it was definitely a big enough portion for two adults and one child. Love how the steak sizzles on the hot plate as the servers bring it out. It takes a bit for your eyes to adjust to the dim lights but all the more heightened senses to savor the taste!

What an amazing experience. I would always go to the usual steakhouses but decided to give this one a try. WOW! Now I will not go to another steakhouse. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was very good, the ambience outstanding and the food was SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!! Yes! We all enjoyed our steaks, sides and cocktails were expertly prepared. What an awesome time we all left saying we had! I highly recommend this restaurant. This is now my favorite steakhouse in NYC!

Updating my review to give it more stars this time :) Came here for an event on a Tuesday night, the food was really good! Friendly staff too! Tried the scallops, tbone ribeye, lobster mac and cheese, creme brulee and some other sides and everything was good! Shishito peppers, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, crispy Brussel sprouts, onion rings are all good

Christmas Eve Dinner - 12/24/25. Complimentary Bread Basket

Benjamin Steakhouse @ this location is on E. 41st St. in Midtown, close to Bryant Park, 42nd St. Grand Central Terminal & other hang-out areas & shops. I visited the week before to get a view of the place before booking the Christmas Eve Reservation. The lovely woman @ the front let me look around, answered my questions & completed my reservation quickly. We came for early Christmas Eve dinner, in order to start enjoying it before the later dinner crowd arrived. Benjamin Steakhouse Staff at the front give us a warm greeting befote fulfilling our request to be seated upstairs. We enjoyed sitting in their Balcony Area overlooking downstairs. Benjamin Steakhouse had a Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Prix Fixe menu option. It included a glass of Eggnog (you can choose either the alcohol or non-alcoholic option), an Appetizer, an Entree, a Side & Dessert. We both had the Liqueur Eggnog option, a Crab Cake Appetizer, Filet Mignon - one w/ side of mashed potatoes & one w/ broccoli (we shared to get a taste of both side dishes), & one slice of cheesecake & one slice of carrot cake for dessert. Boy, I know that I say things are delicious often because I have had some great food in my lifetime (lol), but when I say that every dish was delicious, I mean it! The Crab Cake, & the Filet Mignon w/ Vegetables....cooked so well. Fabulous bread basket, succulent steak, crispy broccoli, creamy potatoes, well-seasoned steak & crab cakes & heavenly dessert! .Eggnog, the dishes the desserts - everything was flavorful & fantastic. So much so, that I wish I had some of every dish in front of me now (lol). Benjamin Steakhouse had beautiful holiday-themed decor, a gorgeous Christmas Tree, coupled w/ elegant ambiance & overall wonderful service! They have a good Restaurant Week Menu & a good Valentine's Day Menu - this will be available on Feb. 13th & Feb. 14th. @benjaminsteak Benjaminsteakhouse.com

Sirloin and creamed spinach. Excellent meal.

Really a very good steakhouse. I had lunch at the bar today and would rank Benjamin's high on the list of NYC steakhouse options. Got the sirloin from the regular menu, cooked medium rare. Also just a side of creamed spinach. That was a perfect portion. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a great dry aged aroma and taste. Service at the bar -- I believe it was from Angela -- was excellent. This is a very strong candidate for a good quality steak if you are in midtown. I would rank this in the conversation of Wolfgang's, Gallaghers, and Rocco's. Would strongly recommend this place.

It's one of my personal traditions to dine at a steakhouse on Thanksgiving, and this year's visit to Benjamin Steakhouse may be one of my favorites thus far. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, even on a packed holiday. The Thanksgiving rush was handled with ease. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided perfectly timed service throughout our meal. The first thing I had was the crab cake, and it was great: crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside... just right with the seasoning. No filler, just quality. For my entrée, I went with the Traditional Thanksgiving Turkey (turkey, stuffing, roasted yams, potatoes au gratin, and cranberry relish). Everything on the plate delivered! To finish, the pumpkin pie hit the spot... smooth, spiced just right, and it came with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A perfect ending to a holiday meal. I left full, satisfied, and already thinking about returning long before next November. I recommend it whether you are on holiday or not.

Came to Benjamin Steakhouse for our 6 year anniversary. Benjamin's is set up like a traditional "old school" steakhouse and has the great service you would expect at that type of establishment. No waiting with reservation, quickly sat, and even surprised with a glass of champagne for our celebration. Much appreciated. Our waiter was attentive, made great suggestions, and was always nearby. The porterhouse for two was cooked to perfection, the sides were filling and shareable, and they had a great lemon drop martini. This is a great steakhouse for celebrations, closing a deal, or meeting with friends.

I had dinner at Benjamin's this week with a group of 11 friends, and the entire experience was flawless an easy 11/10. Ambiance and Service We were seated in the upstairs dining area, which was perfect for a large party: roomy, lively, and still comfortable enough for conversation. From start to finish, the staff was attentive without hovering. When one of my dirty gin martinis arrived missing the blue-cheese olives, our server noticed before I even said a word and swiftly brought a fresh skewer which was a small touch but big impact. Drinks * Dirty gin martinis (with plenty of blue-cheese olives) * Espresso martinis to cap the night Both cocktails were well-balanced and generously poured, making them worth the splurge. Starters * Wedge salad -- crisp lettuce, thick-cut bacon, and a punchy dressing that stole the appetizer show. * Grilled octopus -- tender and nicely charred, but the wedge was the unanimous favorite. The Main Event We split three Porterhouse-for-Fours and one Porterhouse-for-Two. Every steak arrived medium-rare, perfectly seared, and remarkably tender with no chewing marathons here. Sides * Lobster mac & cheese (rich, with big lobster chunks) * Creamed spinach (silky and indulgent) * Onion rings, sautéed mushrooms, and broccoli (all solid) The mac and creamed spinach tied for crowd-favorite, and the staff handled all the plating table side eliminating any awkward passing or uneven portions. Value At roughly $240 per person, including 3-4 cocktails each, appetizers, steaks, sides, and dessert-in-a-glass espresso martinis, the price felt entirely fair for the quality, quantity, and service level. Bottom Line Benjamin's Steakhouse nails the big-group steakhouse experience: stellar service, perfectly cooked porterhouse, standout sides, and cocktails that keep the table buzzing. I can't point to a single miss. If you're planning a celebratory gathering, put Benjamin's at the top of your list. You won't be disappointed.

Dark and cozy atmosphere, great servers- they all seemed to help each other. Steak seasoning was good but a bit dry. Could have used some fun and unique steak sauce other than there house made bbq/horseradish sauce that's on every table (I wasn't a fan of the sauce). Sides were bland and could have used more salt or seasoning. Not bad, but wouldn't come back or suggest to anyone to come here if they want to a nice juicy steak in NY

My experience was unexpected. Made a reservation for a Sun morning before the shuttle and flight back home. I appreciated the hostess offering to check my suitcase. Country music flowed through the speakers during my entire meal. I distracted and detracted from the decor and atmosphere- it was weird. My food was average. Nothing notable. The onion ring batter had no flavor. The burger bun was huge so I tried to eat the burger with a fork- the meat just crumbled in tiny pieces like ground meat. I asked for bread when no one brought it. A group of 6 finished while I was getting seated- no one else was in the restaurant. I felt like a distraction as the servers were preparing for lunch or dinner service. Servers were friendly. Restrooms in the basement- only noting this for anyone with mobility concerns.

Here comes to celebrate sister's birthday at the great steakhouse!! Perfect timing for NYC Restaurant Week! Service was amazing and the ambiance was great for any kind of celebration :) steaks were very well done became one of the top steakhouse! Gotta go back there for another rib eye steak!!!

Went here for a business lunch. And it was restaurant week so we all had the fixed menu. The Caprese was delicious. The balsamic vinegar was sadly nonexistent and could have had more basil. Loved the mozzarella. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Sear was great and loved the level of salt. The mashed potatoes were heavenly. Loved the garlic flavor of the vegetables but they did seem like frozen vegetables and not freshly chopped. The chocolate mousse was a disaster. Way too sweet and not enough texture. The cream was just too overpowering and they didn't even need that on the plate. For the size of our group the service was fine. Vibes are cool but it was absolutely freezing in there with the ac blasting. My whole group was freezing. Would 100% recommend the filet and mashed potatoes.

This dish was outstanding and lived up to the high standards expected of an authentic steakhouse. We ordered the Porterhouse steak, which arrived steaming hot on a warm plate, instantly whetting our appetites. The cooking was perfectly executed, with a crispy, aromatic crust that was full of flavor. The server thoughtfully cut the first few slices for us and arranged them on the plate alongside fresh green asparagus. Even before taking a bite, a smile had already spread across our faces. This kind of experience is hard to replicate at home, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Sometimes, it's worth spending a little extra to enjoy professional quality service lol.

Once we were sat, they gave us an overview of the menu, the highlights, and specials that weren't on the menu including Tomahawk steak, rock shrimp appetizer, side of corn and more. For dessert, we ordered their special, Tiramisu, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Since we were celebrating a special occasion, they gave us a lava cake on the house which made our night even more special. I would definitely come back here to try a new cut of steak and reorder some of their sides.

The place is beautiful, I love the ambiance and I love being able to see the cuts of meat from the window outside. I opted for the filet mignon from the lunch special menu, medium, while my fiancé got a NY sirloin, medium rare. However, we got a very bloody red filet mignon and a pinkish sirloin. Iykyk. The food was good and other than that mistake, I have nothing to say about it, delicious drinks, too. One of the best dirty martinis found in the city. HOWEVER. We sat down at 2:15, and got our food at 3:20. It took a long time both to order and to receive our dishes. I understand being busy but we left the restaurant at 4:35

The fried calamari was some of the best I've had tho it was observed with a little bit of cocktail sauce and a huge thing of tartar sauce. I'm sure I could have gotten more cocktail sauce, since I don't like tartar sauce, but it wasn't necessary. The calamari was so good. The lobster bisque was delicious and the picture can't show you that it was full of lobster. There was a LOT more lobster than a lobster bisque normally contains and the price was about normal for a lobster bisque with one tiny piece of lobster. The iced tea was a bit out of control. If I'm going to be charged $5 per glass of iced tea, that glass should be larger than the ones they use AND not 90% ice. That much for a glass of ice with a splash of iced tea is extreme.
