Let's do pros then cons. Pro it's nice inside, very clean. Nice staff, friendly. Cons using card has to be over $5. The food wasn't that good for the price although it was big. No drive thru. No visible public restroom. Good place for when your drunk and don't know where to eat cuz they have a dine in. Could use more coffee choices. Personally the only reason I came was because I was drunk and needed some coffee but not plain black coffee. I still got coffee standards lmaooo. read more

I work nearby and have been here 4 times, testing new items but to no luck have I been happy. This food isn't even mid, it's disgusting. They forget ingredients and they put no love into the food. From sandwiches to burritos to fries, it's all bad. The service is quick and you can't even excuse it for being fast food because the food is really bad. The ambiance is sad, and the workers don't even look happy. I overpaid $12.03 for a burrito even though it's marked at $8.99. I am here giving an honest review because I am pissed at myself for even giving them one chance, let alone 4. Okay, so I got off work, was feeling hungry. Wanted to cheat myself to something. Was originally thinking of checking out Hamburger Habit around the corner. I never been there, and was curious. But after hearing what people had to say about Hamburger Habit, they were like, "Go to Big Tomy's instead.", and I'm like, alright. So glad I made that decision. Big Tomy's is great. Big Tomy's is a really nice comfort food place/hamburger stand. They have really great burgers. They have some of the best Chili Cheese fries, in LA. I swear to God. Their food is just fantastic, and I'm very happy. The whole atmosphere is great. Inside of the actual restaurant is clean and nice. They really care about giving their customers wonderful food, and it's really nice when you come across a new place, and the experience is perfect. The employees are really nice. Wow!! Patty melt was so good and had double patties. My husband got the super burger which came with a generous helping of avocado and bacon. The inside dining area is clean and the staff was so friendly. We will definitely be back. We couldn't believe how good it was! Definitely worth a stop if you're looking for some cheap eats. Stale oversized hamburger bun. You know... the bad ones they used to sell at Vons. Super bready and dry. I'm not sure if the scale was off, but that 1/4 lb patty looked rather small. So thin I couldn't even taste the meat between all that bread, huge wet leaf of iceberg lettuce and about 1/4 lb of thousand islands dressing that was just dripping out everywhere. Not sure why, but my burger meat was white on the inside. I also got the carne asada taco. Also no bueno. The meat seemed to be seasoned in those home taco packets you can buy in Vons. (Second connection) The cut pieces were chewy and fatty. Pretty gross. The salsa was flavorless and mild. I wish I could say something nice about the ice cream cone, but same luck there. The ice cream at Vons is better. (Nothing wrong with Vons BTW) just saying not sure where they buy their raw foods or products , but the quality is super cheap. read more

I've been coming to Big Tomy's for years regularly for takeout burgers, omelettes, burritos, etc for consistent food at a great value. However, prices have shot up and portions have reduced noticeably recently. Although I understand the increasing prices of ingredients, labor, etc, the significant increases in a short period of time are unreasonable. I used to come every week prior to their extended closure and continued after they reopened. However, I will no longer be coming regularly. Drove into the parking lot. The Handicapped space had a cone in front of it. A worker was washing the adjacent pavement. When asked if he would please remove the cone so we could park there, he refused, saying he had to "wash" the space. His co-worker in the tiny house on the lot came out and removed the cone. I sat near a window where I could keep an eye on the seemingly disgruntled worker wash other spaces around the vehicle. (The Washer also bothered a Woman who was eating in the patio. Coincidentally, I noticed the tiny-house worker whispering to the cooks and cashier prior to taking our order.) We ordered Fish-n-Chips. The fish was burned to the extent I tapped a fillet on my plate, whereupon it emitted a sound the same as tapping a rock. I asked the Cashier about this: He said they had to "hard-fry" the fillets because they were frozen - and they would not prepare another serving. Everything (fries, zucchini, onion rings) were hard to the chew. The only salvageable items were the bland garden salad and a fountain drink. So, will we be patronizing this place again? read more

I was super excited for my first visit back here since they reopened. I really like how they remodeled the spot. But the excitement started to fade after I parked and waited in line outside to get in to place my order. A couple customers were talking about how the place had changed for the worse since reopening. One woman who said she was a regular told me 3 things: 1. They constantly mess up orders 2. The food is cold by the time she gets it home 3. The meat patties on the burgers are not the same full and juicy patties that we were used to. There was another customer that was there complaining about their order being messed up. And the same lady who told me the above complaints ordered before me and her order had problems and she had to have them fix it before she left. I still went up and placed my order after her, excited that I finally had a local spot again for fried zucchini. Being wary that my order would be incorrect, I asked them to repeat and confirm my order when I picked it up before I headed home. Went straight home and discovered that I was missing a sandwich and my zucchini was cold and soggy. How does it get like that when I live 5 minutes away? And yes, the meat patty on my bacon cheeseburger was pretty thin. For those asking why I didn't do a quick visual check before walking out, it was because the employee tied my bag handles into a knot as he repeated what I had ordered so I assumed it was all there. Underwhelming and disappointing. The kitchen management definitely needs some work and I hope they can get the service and quality back to where it was before.
