Bites & Bashes is the type of place you want to hoard to yourself once you find it, and at the same time hope to see it explode with popularity. Starting from the top: the food was excellent, their breakfast burritos are inventive and very filling. Their caffeine selections were excellent, I loved their iced Crack In A Cup. Also, who can turn down bottomless mimosas? Lastly, the service was top notch: I saw their team address regulars with tons of kindness while we were catered to and walked through the menu as newcomers. Ok, so I usually wait a day or so to write a review but this place was worthy of an instant review. originally I heard of this place through work, our doctor ordered us free lunch every Tuesday and this lunch ended up being delivered to a different office. Since then I have driven by multiple times and curious to see what it was about. Today I walked with some time on my hands and let the lady at the front know it was my first time trying it out. She actually recommended the chorizo chilaquiles breakfast burrito (not sure if that's the correct name but somewhere along the lines of it lol) and let me tell you! It did not disappoint. Definitely different but the flavors were all there. I am so picky about burritos and have been craving one lately! To have this as a treat was well worth it. I love the diverse menu, I am excited to see what their drinks taste like. The only downside I thought was the time it took to receive my food but on a brighter note it was hot and fresh so doesn't matter. The worker also gave me a free cookie that was the bomb just for waiting a bit longer. I would definitely order ahead if short on time. Breakfast/ brunch shop perfect for small parties (4 or less) . Check which days they are open and at most they are open until 3pm. Got the guava margarita to start off with and it was a perfect blend of enough guava and tequila. I also got the crack in a cup which is basically Vietnamese coffee for me. I had to let the ice melt a bit haha. I wanted to try the Shakshuka and it was really good although I haven't had an authentic one to compare with, but all the flavors went well together to eat with bread. They also have cookies that were out cooling and I loved the coco loco (I think that's what it is called) shredded coconut with chocolate chips with a chewy center. My kind of cookies, yum! After leaving the doctor today, my friend, her mother and I needed some really good breakfast. Healthy food seemed limited in this unfamiliar area. The three of us came around 9:45am and I am SO happy we found this place. I have a broken ankle and I am on crutches and this was one of the first places in LA that I have been to without a crazy high sidewalk! I was able to comfortably get out the car and enter the restaurant and doorway. The decor is beautiful! Simple, clean and modern. The gold chairs were my favorite. There was one woman handling it all in there and she was killing it. Our drinks (yep, I had a margarita at 10am :) were so delicious. #1.) order at the counter. No one said anything to us and we kind of sat there stupidly. At least tell your customers to order at the counter and then sit down. Or have signage, maybe a line on the menu? We just were a little lost and felt silly. #2.) there weren't very many substitutions that you can make. No Turkey sausage can be added to the burrito, the Turkey sausage can't be taken out of the shakshuka etc. also no sugar free syrup. #3.) I was just a little confused. Is it a full service restaurant or a cafe where you take your food to the table yourself. If you're plating fancy, charge me $5 more but bring me a glass of water please. I was doing some home hunting in the area and looked for a good bite to eat and came across the gorgeous photos for Bites & Bashes. Oddly, what caught my eye out of all the items was the Korean Breakfast plate - a mixture of white rice, bulgogi, and eggs. It seemed so simple yet the pictures looked so gorgeous and I had to try and see if the taste matched the picture quality, and it did! My Korean Breakfast plate variation was with egg whites (+$1 extra), white rice, and bulgogi. I loved the presentation full of small colorful flakes, making the egg whites (which I know are usually boring - I cook them every morning, so I would know!) into a really nice treat. What should otherwise be a simplistic plate turned out to be really nice and flavorful. The egg whites were fluffy. The white rice was cooked just right (not too soft or hard), and the bulgogi was super flavorful and juicy mixed with onions and giving flavor to the rest of the rice and egg whites. My only small observation was that it was a bit pricy compared to other locations with similar bowls although the flavor profile and attention to detail make sense. I'd love to see some hot sauce or gochujang included though to give it a bit more of a bold flavor profile. Parking is a little tight. There is some parking in the back of the restaurant as well as street / neighborhood parking (note the neighborhood is a bit narrow street-wise). The cashier was super nice, and it looked like they were doing a major photo shoot inside. There is also some outdoor seating. We ordered a breakfast burrito and chicken salad sandwich ahead. It's an order at the counter type place with great service and food quality. We both enjoyed the flavor and texture of our meals. It's nice that there are hints of Korean fusion going on, and their housemade salsa with the burrito was probably the best thing for me. The two things we ordered at bites and bashes were a HIT! My fiancé and I recommend the breakfast burrito . We really loved the tots inside , and everything about it . We also loved the kimchi fried rice . The presentation was amazing . I loved all the little flowers , and all the colors in this dish. Taste wise it was also good . The only problem is that we wish we ordered more cuz it was so good ! We also loved their unique drinks . Super cute cafe! It is the perfect spot to get together for brunch or lunch. I came here on a Thursday afternoon with a girl friend and our experience was exceptional. The women behind the counter greeted us with a warm welcome and offered us their menu. We took a seat by the window before getting up to place our order at the register. We ordered their Crack Fries, Vegan Korean Glass Noodles, Penne Alfredo with Sundried Tomatoes, Sweet Corn and added Chicken. To drink, we had their Lavender Lemonade and Peach Iced Tea. The drinks were served immediately and topped with florals. As a flower lover, I thought this little touch was so nice. The lavendar lemonade was delicious. The lavender wasn't too overpowering and lemonade wasn't too sweet or tangy. The perfect mixture! The Chef and Owner, Julie, came out and greeted us which I thought was wonderful. I also learned that she owns a nearby farm where she sources some of their herbs, fruits and vegetables for the business. Loved that! Our food arrived within 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised by the Crack Fries and Korean Glass Noodles. The fries were nice and crispy, topped with a chipotle style sauce, parmesan cheese, and parley. I understand why they are known as crack fries...you can't stop wanting more! The noodles also known as Japchae, was one of the best I've had. The flavor profile, all the rainbow colored vegetables, and presentation did it for me. Will definitely order these items again! Great flavors.... Family friendly. I had a free afternoon free from family obligations so I was driving around looking for lunch. I remember my friend telling me about this place and decided to try out the lunch. They seem to have multiple places for parking down Narbonne and sounds like their catering business was strong considering all the trucks that were around there with their logos. I walked in and was impressed with how busy the place was. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and i wanted to try everything, but kept to a sandwich and crack fries. I also grabbed an iced tea which was delicious. I sat down at the table and saw all the families in there. You order the food at the counter and then grab a seat. In about 10 minutes the Korean Spicy Pork sandwich with crack fries came out. The sandwich was flavorful and moist along with great bread. The kale salad was brimming with vibrant radishes and edible flower petals, and the croutons and crispy quinoa brought a nice crunch to each bite. The All American Breakfast was a standard stack of fluffy pancakes, but my only complaint here was that the pancakes were on the small side, and the meal only came with 1 and a half strips of bacon. Not even two strips? Not exactly a hearty breakfast. That was a little disappointing considering the price. Everything still tasted great though. The owner/chef chatted with our table for and informed us that she has a local garden and grows some of the produce used in the menu! The most recent event that Bites & Bashes catered was for our office holiday party at the Natural History Museum for about ~200 attendees. They were patient and kind during the planning process as we had to build out an entire kitchen for their team. Crystal and Gabi specifically were able to figure out ways to make our dream menu come to life even with the venue's restrictions and extreme lack of power sources. What a wonderful way to start our weekend! I had an urge to have brunch with my wife and found this gem of a place close to our home. Did some research this business originally started as a food catering service owned by a mom and daughter duo before moving towards a restaurant. Can I tell you how happy I am that they made that choice!? While the service was a little delayed due to high demand and short staff, their team was fantastic and very accommodating. Their lattes were solid, not the best we have had but solid. My wife and I shared the crack fries and the sauce used was unique and delicious. The wife had the breakfast burrito and she loved the crisp texture of the smashed tater tots and the aioli was delicious! I went with the Bacon Steak, while the portion was smaller the meal itself was surprisingly filling. I am a 275lb man and was very happy. The potatoes were like none I've had before and combined with the handmade bbq sauce the meal itself was a pleasant way to start my morning. There is a lot to explore on this menu and my family is excited to be so close to being able to do so! We ordered the Shakshuka for the Hubs which was beautifully presented and very flavorful. I ordered the Bacon Steak which consisted of Pork Belly (the steak) with a very delicious BBQ sauce along with two over easy eggs prepared perfectly and delicious "smashed" potatoes. It was not what I expected. When you're used to the standard sling hash or diced potatoes but see these mushroom-like potatoes, it's intriguing. These were especially good dipped in the BBQ sauce as well. I ordered the coffee as well which was pretty good too. The prices are a little on the higher side.
