Before Blaze was here, there had been many restaurants that tried to occupy this "used to be dead space." It seems that Blaze is here to stay! The first time I went here was back in the fall of 2014. I was going to order quite a few pizzas to feed at least 15 people. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the friendly staff. Then an employee explained the process to me. Basically I could make my own pizzas or pick from the list. For instance, you can always modify any pizza on their list, saying more mozzarella, more basil, etc. It's similar to a Subway line where you can be like 'a few more tomatoes please.' All the pizzas are based on personal size pizzas. Even though you could probably share one if you aren't that hungry. They are thin crust so it's not hard to eat the whole thing. I ordered 12 pizzas and all were fabulous. Oh yes, they even have gluten free pizzas for those of you that don't eat gluten. That's actually pretty hard to find & most places that make gluten free pizzas end up tasting like cardboard. Even though I didn't try that one, I was told it was very good! My first experience was pretty awesome. I was told for the future if I have big orders I can always call it in, or place my order over the Internet. I have been back multiple times since my first experience and continue to enjoy this place. For under $10 you can get a drink and a thin crust personal pizza. Did I say that it was fast? It's a wood burning pizza oven and they cook pretty fast. So even if you are craving pizza and are in a hurry this place could have you in and out within 10 minutes or under. Blaze pizza is not only tasty, but the staff are so sweet! Every time I tell them about my milk allergy they are on top of it. They make sure that they don't use any utensils that have been used for dairy products. Highly recommend them if you have allergies (or just love pizza)! read more

Unlimited toppings on a fresh made pizza for under $10, yes please. Using my trusty yelp app like usual, I tried to order online. For some reason, my online order didn't go through, but no worries, they were quick to take care of me. I'm not joking about the unlimited toppings. These pizza crafters do a great job of spreading them out. They don't really load the toppings on, but how could they at that price. Especially with toppings like goat cheese. Awesome place. Live the concept of adding any topping I want, all for one low price. The kids love it too and can get their own 11" single topping for 6.50. Everything cooks is 180 seconds so you get your food fast. You can order online and skip the line out front! Been coming since opening weekend after we tried the first Blaze in Louisville a few times. Mike, the owner, seems to have a great handle on things. Only complaint - add more seating and add a second line - this place should be on everyone's must-do list! Hint - I timed the line one night - if you are stuck in a long lost line that wraps outside the door, it takes 30 minutes to order, pay, and get your pizza from the outermost door. I have been to blaze before and had good experiences, but this time was different. The boy taking orders and setting up the dough (first employee you come to) had the worst attitude. He was rude and short when interacting with customers, kept throwing his sharpie, and messing up orders and then getting an frustrated when the customers corrected it. So it started off bad, as for the rest of the experience it was just okay. Flavor of the pizza was good and I liked the variety on the soda machine, but the whole experience started off horribly. This was my first time here. On the upside, the ingredients are fresh, they aren't stingy with them, and everyone behind the counter was patient (with us first-timers) and pleasant. We had a standard cheese pizza with sausage and mushrooms, and a Caesar salad. On the down side, it took a very long time. It was busy, and we waited in line perhaps 15 minutes before getting to order. Then, you pay and wait again for your order to come out. The whole process seamed much longer than if you went to a sit down pizza restaurant. The pizza is a thin and crispy style, but I would rate as three stars because the dough is pressed out in a machine before being topped and cooked, and it just seemed like it was commercially machine-made, unlike other pizza restaurants. There is one size only, no wait staff, no one bussing or cleaning tables, and no recycling. We're glad we tried it, but I think I will try other places next. read more

I love Blaze sooooo much. Pick your sauce, cheeses (always multiple lol), toppings, and optional drizzle...regardless of your choices, the price stays the same. The combinations are basically limitless, but I like to stay in my Greek/Mediterranean comfort zone. The most dazzling element of Blaze is the oven. It's an honest to goodness screaming hot pizza oven, and it makes all the difference. The finished product is perfectly textured and slightly charred. It's insanely good. Another huge plus here? The customer service. As busy as they get during lunch, employees and management alike do their best to get your order out as quickly as possible. Pro tip: when you order online, you skip the line. Check in the at the register, and they cook your already assembled pizzas once you arrive. This way, they're just as fresh! Oh, and you must try the agua Frescas/blood orange lemonade. Nice thin simple crust with great flavor. They don't over do them. Honestly you can't go wrong. It's a good size for just yourself and take some slices home if you want. I have been to Blaze a couple of times in the last few months and the pizza quality has always been good. I would rank Blaze over any of the delivery pizza places in the area but at the end of the day they are still fast food. I usually order ahead online so when I get there I can walk straight to the cashier and have them fire my order. The drink selection is nice as they have more than the typical soda selections by Coke and Pepsi. Off of food alone I would rate them 4 Stars however my most recent experience with their service has pushed them to a 5. I ordered online before picking up my kids from school and had every intention on taking the food home to eat. My toddler got hangry so I changed my order to in house dining after they had begun to box them up. We ate and boxed up the leftovers to go and made the mistake of letting the elder child hold their pizza which was promptly dropped on the floor. The manager came over and gave us not only a coupon for free pizza during a future visit, he also offered to replace the dropped pizza on the spot which we graciously declined. read more

This is my second time to grace the 'Blaze' because the first time it was just a fizzle. The crust is so thin it's on the cracker side of things so this time I got the 'thick crust' which is still thin in my book but it makes for a much better eating experience. The 'build your own' with a drink set me back $13.00 but the 6 piece pie will make 2 more lunches for me. It's fun picking the ingredients so - 4 stars it is. This is a pretty busy place, I had 35 people in front of me at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. They got things going within about 20 minutes and I had my pizza. I always love Blaze Pizzas and enjoy I can get just what I want on my pizza. I always pay extra for the healthy cauliflower crust. I feel like I ate all my veggies and ate pretty clean. Place is clean and fast. I thanked all the workers for working at this time in the earth's history. There were two people who look like they were managers working the line, and one commented, "it's been really hard to keep this place moving with so few people." They did a great job. We had no idea what to expect when we decided to go to Blaze... The sweetie wanted pizza and it was the closest place I could find on Yelp with decent reviews. For those of you uneducated like me-- Blaze is what it would be like if Subway did pizza-- but not pizza like their mediocre sandwiches, I'm talking really, really good pizza. When you walk in, you follow your pizza crust down the line as employees put whatever you want on it. We had specialty pizzas with set ingredients listed on the menu, but even those could be altered. No onions? No problem! We went in on a busy Friday night and still completed the whole process of choosing our pizza to getting it at our table in about 10 minutes. Not bad at all! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their pizza and we agreed we'd all gladly return. My only complaint is that the salads they have are all pre-made. I always have salad with my pizza :-). They did make a new one to accommodate my sweetie's nut allergy, so I'm not complaining... I was just hoping to be able to customize my salad as I did my pizza. read more

Is it just me, or have the local Blaze Pizza locations lost a few steps? When they first opened I was really excited about their product. It was fast, any toppings you want for the same price, and I really liked the thin crust. Now the whole process is slower, the pizza quality variable, and what the hell happened to their pesto? I have trust issues and when you make grand promises of awesomeness, I immediately put on my skeptical hat. Let's run down the Blaze Pizza concept, shall we?! You're telling me that I can get a pizza with WHATEVER I want on it, that it will be cooked to perfection in 180 seconds, AND that it's going to cost me only $7.95? I feel like we're playing a game of one of these things is not like the other. Because there is no way these things could be true and the pizza be worth consuming. Yesterday Blazed kicked off their first day in Knoxville by offering free pizza to all. Someone clearly told them how to get my attention! So with the promises listed above, we decided to give it a shot. At least disappointment would come at a digestible price. Except, there was NO disappointment! From the moment we walked through the door (or should I say stepped in the line that went down the side of the building), the staff was so friendly and helpful. The people busting their butts to sling pizza for the masses were bubbly and cheerful. As we were shuffled down the line in a chipotle style fashion, selecting your sauces, cheeses, and veggie, we were met with personality and an array of tasty toppings. At the end of the line, you are told to stay close because your pizza will be out in just a matter of minutes. Even with half of Knoxville in line for free pizza, this was true. In a matter of minutes, my pizza was being topped with a pesto drizzle and cut into pieces. It looked and smelled amazing. And the moment of truth....DELICIOUS!!! Seriously, I was blown away. The Mister and I played a game of swapsies and while his pizza concoction was completely different than mine, it was just as fantastic! While I am not one to typically sing the praises of chains, I was really impressed with my experience at Blaze. I love that they are open later hours during the week than most restaurants in the area. I also noticed that they have options for just about all dietary needs. We went here on Friends and Family night. The restaurant is tucked in that spot that never seems to work near Altruda's. I think this could possibly be the place that sticks. The ordering process is a little long, this could have been because they had everyone there for the event. One person writes the order, one puts the sauce, one puts the cheese, and so on. We got the green stripe pizza, the caesar salad and the caprese type salad. The salads were fine, the caesar is way to fishy for my tastes but it had those huge pieces of parmesan that are the best! There are about one billion options and they all look good, there are multiple sauces and crust choices, the spicy marinara looked interesting. When you are going down the line, it may look as though they are not putting nearly enough cheese on it (this is almost always a concern of mine)... frankly our pizza looked really sad. BUT, when it came out of the oven the cheese was perfect. Trust the process, people. They added fresh arugula and pesto and our pizza was pretty good. I think this place would be perfect for a quick/light lunch or dinner or a place to bring family. It's no secret. What you've heard about Blaze is true. For the price, you can't get a better, fresher pizza... and made to order, no less. They could certainly offer fewer, poorer quality toppings, and this could be just a custom-made Ci-Ci's (sad, stale, and yuck), but this place is fun, fresh, and delicious! And while I imagine the dough is made in a pretty industrial process, it bakes up perfectly in their wood-fired oven. Perfectly crispy every time. For the price of a frozen pizza, you can get one that tastes more like an "artisanal" hand-made pie that would cost three-times as much at some hipster joint. read more
