It's true that all the old Chinese folks have been flocking to this restaurant. My parents come here a lot with their various social circles for the deals. Is it a deal? Hot pots are $20-30 or per lb market price. Is the decor great? Half the ceiling and walls remain unfinished. Blue marking tape denote unfinished work. It smells of industrial cleaner in some corners. Was the fish tender? Yes Fresh? It seem so, but harder to tell given it's in soupy broth and dosed with lots of cumin. Tasty? Enough so If my parents want to come here, I'd join. Would I invite others here? No

Great lunch specials at $9.99 from 11am-5pm every day including weekend. I placed a take out order at the restaurant in the late afternoon and my food was ready in about 15-20 min. Ordered 4 items. BBQ pork fried rice which is delicious. Very flavorful, slightly oily but in a good way. Filet mignon with black pepper sauce - also delicious. Sautéed string bean with minced meat - another delicious item. The string beans are chopped up which I didn't expect - still delicious. Lastly, Pork chop with spicy salt. This one was a disappointment. There was a lack of seasoning - almost like they forgot to season it. But overall, very good food at great prices and portion size. Also gave 2 large boxes of white rice. Total before tip was $43 and it's easily enough food for 3-4 people or meals. The parking lot in front is small but there's also a rear lot and street parking. They also have dinner specials.

This is my go to place for lunch special. I just see that they have dinner special as well. Everything tasted great here for lunch so I would think dinner is the same. They just did a remodel and have new table, chairs and flooring etc inside. It's really nice to see that they can offer great price while able to upkeep the restaurant.

We stopped by after hearing they offer $9.99 lunch dishes, and this little mom-and-pop Chinese spot definitely delivered good value. SERVICE: 4/5 We arrived just after the lunch rush, so there was almost no wait. The staff were friendly, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. FOOD: 4/5 The dishes were delicious and exactly what you'd expect from classic Chinese comfort food. A couple items leaned a bit salty, but overall everything was satisfying and flavorful. PARKING: 3/5 The parking lot is quite small, so coming during peak hours might be tricky. You may need to grab street parking if it gets busy.

The hot new place all the older people are talking about. All of our parents keep talking about the great lunch special. We didn't end up making it for lunch special but we came for our Chinese new year dinner on the weekend before CNY. Big mistake. We came early but it still got crowded and on top of that people were rude and service was awful. I mean I've been to tons of Chinese restaurants growing up and service isn't always the best but they usually get the job done, food is good and so you don't mind that there are no pleasantries. No, not here. Food wasn't great and at times there wasn't any at all. We were missing two dishes even when we finished the rest of our meal and they kept saying it was coming and wouldn't even apologize for the delay or offer to cancel it. I mean we literally finished all our other dishes and had to go boxes and they still had us sitting there waiting for two other dishes we ordered forever ago. The waitress and honestly all the staff were beyond rude which is even worse for a CNY dinner. I get you're busy but even still, all the unhappiness was unnecessary. Just stop taking customers and close early if you can't keep up and you're gonna have a bad attitude about it. The chicken clay pot rice had small bones in the small pieces of chicken, if you can even call it chicken. It was more like chicken bones with tiny slivers of meat. I don't care how great the supposed lunch special is, I'm never coming back here. I'd rather take my business elsewhere. I think one table legit just got up and left after briefly sitting down with some menus. The only good thing I can say about this place is the fish soup my mother in law ordered kept coming with soup refills even when she was packing it to go. It was a little peppery and definitely tasted better than it looked. Btw the sign on the restaurant says something other than "Boiling Seafood Wok" but the sign on the plaza is that and that's what your gps will route you to. It's just some variation of the name, I forget exactly what but the sign above the doors is just slightly different.

UPDATED MENU & PRICES. New name Boiling Stone Fish? Also, place looks really nice inside after recent remodel. I have only ordered to go in the past, but dined in yesterday as we brought a friend to try this place. Arrived just after 11am. Ordered 5 dishes for a party of 3 with plenty left over to take home: squid with spicy salt, shrimp with tofu, sweet & sour chicken, fish with black bean sauce, string bean with mince meat. All were delicious and plentiful portions. Service was excellent, professional, friendly. Was provided ice water, forks, chili sauce, to go boxes without having to ask more than once or twice). Didn't feel rushed. My friends enjoyed the food as well and liked the decor inside. All agreed a place we would go again.

This is my first time having dinner at Boiling Seafood Wok. Parking may be a challenge as the parking lot is small. The restaurant offers special dinner dishes at $14.99. We opt for its regular dinner menu as it offers more choices. The highlight of the dinner is the fish hot pot. The fish is fresh, and the broth that accompanies it is delicious. You can also get a free broth refill. The rest of the dishes are delicious, and the waiter offers excellent service.

Their lunch special is $9.99 and totally worth every dollar for its quality food! Affordable meals for the family! It's in a small little corner plaza with limited parking spaces; however, parking in rear and streets are available. Prepare for crowds as soon as they open their door!

    House Special Boiling Cod Soup
    Sandy N.

Came here Saturday with a party of four for lunch and got seated right away. We ordered House Special Boiling Cod Soup and Green Beans. The House Special Boiling Cod was flavorful. Though the fish did not taste fresh, they added a generous amount of it. The soup base was delicious and not salty at all. As for the green beans, it was super salty. It was so salty to the point where I couldn't eat it alone and even with rice without chug a great amount of water. Other than that, it wasn't overcooked and green beans itself was fresh. Service is fast. Parking was simple since there was additional parking in the back. Restaurant can be suited for a large party since they have large tables available. Overall, I feel like it was still worth a try since the food does have some sort of authenticity. I also do hope to be back since this is one of my partner's favorite spots. I'm just hoping the day I went is one of their off days and is not considered their regular cooking.

String bean with fish (lunch special), seafood and tofu in claypot, beef chow mien, rock fish hotpot

We came on a sunday at lunch time and waited 40 minutes to be seated, 15 minutes to order food and another 40 minutes to receive all the dishes we ordered. We were ignored, provided with dirty utensils/bowls and pots of yellow water they call tea. Some major things: The fish hotpot was definitely not worth 75$.. It was greasy, random vegetable chunks/cuts and too much alcohol. I am not sure how this is their famous dish. We ordered a 2lb fish for 5 people but there was barely any meat for each person. The menu said that it was 17.99$/lb but the total came out totally different. The stir fried string bean with fish fillet lunch special dish was 9.99$. It was greasy, they used frozen fish and the beans were fried in oil leaving this weird skin texture on the outside. It was lacking a lot of flavors. The seafood and tofu in claypot was 17.99$ but a total rip off. There were about 6 pieces of small tofu cubes, 4-5 frozen fish fillets (same as the string beans stirfry), 3 shrimps, 5-6 cuttlefish/squid. It was loaded with cabbage at the bottom. The dish mainly tasted of oil and toubanjiang sauce. The beef chow-mien was super greasy, uneven coating of soy sauce and flavor. The beef slices were tenderized to the point that it's not really beef anymore? You can't really taste any beef. There is also no wok hei, a big disappointment. Would not recommend wasting time and money here.

3.5/5 in general. In short, everything tastes pretty good except for their signature dish (boiling fish) which is kinda ironic.. 4,5/5 Roasted pigeon : tender but compact meat. Kinda tastes like roasted duck but tighter meat. Love it. A bit pricy for this amount of meat for me tho. 5/5 Califlower: crunchy but flavorful. 1/5 boiling dish: the fish was pretty loose and fell apart the bone super easily. It just doesn't look fresh to us and it's $70... it sounded like a fresh fish when they selling it cause they were like "how many pound of the fish you like". Also my friends are all feeling it's less than 3 pounds that we ordered.

Short while ago, I came across this restaurant on Yelp. The reviews mentioned great food and daily lunch specials, plus something that's unheard of these days, a ling list of specials for only $10. So on a day when we had nothing planned for lunch, we came here to try them out. The parking lot is shared with other businesses. The closest spots are tight and need a little maneuvering skills to get in. The outside and interior is not fancy at all. Just your average Chinese restaurant. The service is similar to a design style I like: minimalist. It's almost like they made an effort to exchange as little words as possible and avoid any facial expressions. For lunch, we went with their specials menu: Filet mignon in black pepper sauce: nice color in the beef but we all know it's not filet mignon. The beef was lacking compared to the onions they filled the plate with. Some pieces were tender, some were chewy. 3/5.(see my photo) Chicken fried rice: decent wok flavor and generous with the chicken. We opted out of scallions or any of the frozen diced veggies. 3.5/5 String beans and chicken: An even amount of chicken vs. beans. Flavor isn't bad. 3.5/5 Seafood tofu hot pot. Decent amount of fish and shrimp with tofu. Good flavor. 4/5. They served complimentary soup, but my soup spoon tasted like dishwater, as if they just fished it out of the sink. One sip was enough for me to thoroughly inspect every bowl plate or cup. Whenever we ask for anything, like water or the rice that was supposed to come with the lunch specials, we had to ask twice. They accept credit cards, but charge .75 extra. And then they tell me they cannot put the tip on the card so we have to use cash. OK, I get why, but what if I didn't bring cash? So the food was pretty decent, not much to rave or complain about. But for me, I very much prefer supporting businesses with good people that actually appreciate their customers a bit. Will I come back? Who knows, but I'm in no hurry that's for certain.

Ken is an amazing server. I love the food here. Always amazing. That pot if fish always chef kiss. The soup is so amazing I kept drinking a lot. Another thing I 100% recommend from this place is that green bean! Do not order regular green bean. I don't know the english name for the beans but show them the picture and I'm sure they'll let you know what it is. I came on a Friday lunch and definitely no wait. Will always come back!!!!!! Thank you!

From what time to what time do they have lunch specials available?

Lunch specials end at 5pm and cost $8.99. Just went there today.

Is this place permanently closed? I've been trying to call them since January... :(

As of 4/2, they are open now. Just called and ordered takeout.

Is this place still buy four item get one free fish?

They said they're not doing this anymore due to Covid making business more slow. However, they still have their lunch specials from 12-5pm daily and provide free soup. They gave me soup and rice with all my dishes for take out.

Is the place still open to do take out?

Yes definitely!! Give them a call or order online

(4/5) Sautéed Pea Sprouts - Nicely done vegetable dish. It's simple but refreshing with good flavors. (4/5) Fried Whole Fish - This dish was gone so fast because it was delicious. Nicely fried and not overly seasoned. (5/5) Signature Lobster - I feel like you have to get this here since it's their specialty. It's pricey, but in my opinion, it's the best and freshest lobster in town. Tons of green onions, seasoned well, fresh meat, and lots of lobster roe. (5/5) Service was good, and they didn't automatically add a mandatory tip for a large party. The total came out to around $364, which is pricey, but the food was phenomenal. Outside of that, it's manageable. Service was friendly and efficient even when it was busy, and the overall vibe was welcoming.

The Peking duck lived up to the hype. I liked that they use pancakes instead of the buns, and building each bite with hoisin, green onion, cucumber, duck meat, and crispy skin gave a great mix of textures and flavors. The other dishes were solid too. The pea sprouts were fresh and loaded with garlicky flavor without being overpowering. The shrimp fried rice was probably one of the best value dishes we ordered at around $13 -- lots of shrimp mixed throughout and a great filler for the table. The honey walnut shrimp was unique because it came with melon, which added a refreshing touch. The shrimp itself was super crispy and I appreciated that it wasn't drowning in sauce or overly sweet. The French style beef was another standout -- packed with fresh peppers and the meat was incredibly tender. Overall, you really can't go wrong ordering here. Great spot if you're craving Peking duck and Chinese family-style dishes.

The sweet and sour pork was unfortunately a disaster. The pork was sliced paper-thin--so thin that it felt like I was mostly eating batter with barely any meat. I was also disappointed they took the sweet and sour fish off the menu because that dish was amazing a few months ago. The five-color noodles were light, clean, and refreshing. The pork elbow was delicious with a fun, tender texture. The fish maw soup was very good and comforting, though it could have used a little more seasoning. Other than that, it was delicious. The steamed sea bass with soy sauce was incredibly soft and fragrant--a definite must-order. The scallops with vermicelli noodles were another hit: fresh, clean flavors and perfectly cooked scallops. My only suggestion would be to cut the noodles, as they came in one big clump and were difficult to serve. We ordered the beef fried rice but were given lamb instead. It was a bit gamier than expected, but still tasty. The black fungus with tofu was also excellent--well seasoned and full of flavor. Overall, there were a few misses, but the Peking duck, sea bass, scallops, pork elbow, and black fungus with tofu made the meal worth coming back for.

By the time we started eating, it was beginning to pack up inside. The ambiance was chill and the service was pretty standard for an Asian restaurant. Servers don't check in unless you call them over, nothing over the top. I ordered the baked chicken over tomato sauce and cheese. It was amazing, I'm still thinking about it days later! The tomato sauce was super flavorful without being crazy strong or tomato-forward. The cheese was baked perfectly on top, leaving a nice crispy texture but still chewy and stringy at the same time. I would definitely come back!

I was too hungry to wait but I decided to come back nice and early. At my 8:30am visit I was able to be selective in their parking lot and no wait to be seated. Yay! I love the interior décor. The table had dominos underneath the glass, the dishes and utensils had lucky auspicious affirmations. I'm all for the positive vibes this early in the morning. Staff are incredibly quick and efficient. They are really on top of it. I think they really have to be in order to meet the demand of the busy crowd. I was excited for the breakfast specials since I love breakfast foods. I can eat it all day! The breakfast combos come with your choice of drink. Cold drinks are an extra $1. After looking at some photos on Yelp and some helpful Q&A with my waitress, I decided on their Breakfast Combo D. Porkchop & Egg Pineapple Bun with Dried Scallop Congee ($13.99) and I opted for the Iced Lemon Tea ($1 cold drink upgrade). What a deal!! I also added a side order of the Fried Dough Stick ($3.50) or also known as the crueler or Chinese donut since I like to have it with my congee. It wasn't needed from a portion perspective but I just like it. The food came out quickly, the congee first and then the fried dough stick and porkchop & egg pineapple bun. What a feast! The ladies at the lady next to me were so excited at my spread they asked me what I got. They thought I was really pro but it was actually just my first visit. Inside the pineapple bun there was a fried egg, porkchop, tomato, lettuce, and sauce. It was a huge sandwich. This is one of the bigger pineapple buns I see and it was well stuffed. The amount of food I ordered was enough to feed 2 people. The congee was really subtle. I didn't get the fried scallop that is in the name... I would just perceive it as a plain congee. The fried dough stick was oily and didn't taste too fresh. I probably won't order it next time. Nevertheless a still overall fabulous meal. My tea was refilled before I had the chance to ask. When I asked for the check, they knew to bring me togo containers without me having to ask too. Very smart service! I had a great meal here and I will definitely come back if I wake up early enough to come at opening.

They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. But the meal was very worth and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Such a yummy meal! I really enjoyed it! I am definitely coming back again!

Boston Lobster is officially my go-to location for any|all Asian lobster cravings!! Newport…read morewho?????!!! My family and I used to religiously eat lobster noodles whenever we made a trip down to SoCal. The pick of the bunch was 100% Newport Seafood- no negotiations, no contemplations. Unfortunately, the last handful of times have left me extremely disappointed and heavily annoyed. The cost and wait times do not reflect what is actually being provided and most of our food ends up being left behind because it simply isn't worth the calories. In all honestly, I've grown a phobia w/ that specific restaurant at this point because of the countless letdowns. My initial taste of Boston Lobster was about 3 years ago and I had the most enjoyable meal. Due to our LA trip coming to an end, my BD thought we should do it big with some lobster noodles- for good old time's sake. I absolutely refused to go anywhere unless we would be giving Boston Lobster a visit! Sure enough, they did not disappoint! Dinner for 3 adults and 1 toddler consisted of: *Boston House Special Lobster [no spice] + Garlic Noodles for an additional fee. Medium Size 5-6lbs minimally. *French Style Beef Cube *Sauteed Snow Pea Leaves We ate like mf'n KINGS!! Each and every dish was spectacular- even the greens! While we should have gone with the small sized lobster, I'm proud to say we went down with an honorable fight. Lmao!! The lobster was cooked to perfection- meat was sweet, succulent, and so darn tender. The garlic noodles soaked up all of the delicious lobster flavors and were not overcooked and mush. The bo luc lac was flavorful, juicy, and complimented the bed of lettuce, onions, & tomatoes so well. The snow pea leaves weren't tough and old- this truly was a simply yet magical dish. Service was on point and the staff continually came by to swap out our plates full of lobster shells. Above all, there was no wait with our initial arrival. Parking is easy given the fact that BL has a pretty big parking lot specifically for them. 5/5 stars!! We dropped over 3 bills here and it didn't even hurt. Lmao- this place is that damn good! Don't sleep on this joint, y'all. Boston Lobster is the real deal when it comes to authentic Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. This spot should be so much more hyped than it actually is!
