Good quality, just too many claw pieces that taste of the sea, too much for my taste. Meat was top notch. 2- Chowder was as good as I've had. Creamy with a great ratio of clams to potatoes. So tasty. 3- and the best dish was the chili. Where to start: Great fresh chunks of tomato that don't turn to mush; well seasoned meat that compliments the jalapeño slices. My favorite place in the Quincy Market food court is Boston Chowda. I am obsessed. They serve the best soup and lobster rolls. I also love how they are always adding new delicious items to their menu. In addition, the employees are always friendly, despite the fact that they are always super busy. I usually get the Manager's Special: a cup of soup, meal and drink. I like the New England Clam Chowder and lobster roll. I used to get the cold lobster roll, however, they recently started serving a hot buttered lobster roll on toasted bread that is divine! Boston Chowda also makes a delicious Lobster Mac n Cheese Pie. Disclaimer: review of the CLAM CHOWDER IN BREAD BOWL only OMG.... it is so good! This is definitely perfectly creamy without being too thick, the clams are real and there's legitimate sized chunks in there (unlike what we have in san francisco) and a good amount of potatoes perfectly cooked. Taste was on point and went great with the white bread bowl. The bread was soft enough to rip and dip, yet that thin outer crust was enough to keep the contents in. We have good chowder in the city, but our bread bowls are dry and hard sour dough for the most part. The stand is located inside Faneuil Hall. When I came here on a Sunday, the place was packed. It was kind of hard to find a seat in the dining area. I personally don't have too much experience with clam chowder (haven't eaten much), so take what I say with a grain of salt. If you ask me what my favorite soup is - my answer would be New England Clam Chowder. I LOVE clam chowder and often pair it with my lunch at work. It's the best part of my work day. I came to Boston in search of delicious clam chowder. While passing by Quincy Market - we saw a lot of people carry the bread bowl and stumbled across Boston Chowda Co. There was a bit of a line - more so than the other stands at Quincy Market - but thats a good sign right of it being popular? We decided to go for it - line moved up fast and service was quick! I ordered a medium size clam chowder soup - and wow, it turns out this the best clam chowder we have tasted thus far in the city. The soup tasted home made with the right amount of clam taste and not too salty. The quality of the seasoning was superb, the soup was full of large chunks of clam and absolutely delicious! I got their corn chowder in a bread bowl. They put a scoop and a little more in the bowl. The staff seems like they just want o get you your food and have you leave. I couldn't even hear them say how much it was after tax, so I just gave them my card. The bread bowl was really meh. Not good at all. The corn chowder was good though! It could have been a little thicker but the flavor was all there with plenty of corn and potatoes. There was seating in the middle of Quincy market but there are more people than there are seats. Our lobster rolls had a reasonably generous serving of lobster claw meat in them (as they should, for more than $20 each), and were only a bit mushy. The macaroni and cheese was nice. The food just wasn't good. We were visiting Boston and found this place on yelp. It's inside of a strip mall that's just restaurants. We got in line and were served quickly which was great. They had Mac n cheese pies already made and kept warm in a hot box. I picked the lobster Mac n cheese and my boyfriend got clam chowder in a bread bowl. There is no place to sit inside so we headed outdoors and grabbed a table. My Mac n cheese just wasn't good. 5/10 at the best. The cheese they used was something orange but don't think it was cheddar. Lacked any sort of flavor. There was a lot of lobster however but the overall taste just tasted weird. It was cooked in a foil dish (which I've cooked in myself, things like bread and such and never had a weird flavor) and it just made it taste off. My boyfriends chowder also lacked flavor and since we were outside there was no salt and pepper. He finished it but didn't even wanna eat the bread bowl because it just wasn't good. This place has a pretty solid lobster roll. I got the hot buttered lobster roll which was about 21 bucks. Steep but it is lobster after all ! The bread and bun was sooo buttery and delicious. This actually was so soft. The lobster portion was generous and had nice texture and flavor. I got full from eating this! The squirt of lemon on top went well. When looking up Quincy Market, you will see multiple pictures of lobster rolls & clam chowder. It's a must when coming here! My friend and I came here after finishing the Boston Freedom Trail Tour that ends at Faneuil Hall. I had already looked up Quincy Market and knew I wanted a lobster roll & clam chowder from here but, didn't know which vendor I wanted to buy from. So, I walked around and looked at each vendor, searching for what I had seen online. When I came across this place, I immediately knew I needed to get their lobster roll & clam chowder. Loved that their lobster roll was just lobster on a buttered roll. Other vendors put a ton of mayo on their lobster which I didn't like. I ended up ordering the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll & Clam Chowder combo which comes with a small drink. My total was around $30 which I thought was pretty steep but I knew it had to be good with a price tag like that. Once I bit into that lobster roll, I knew it was worth every penny! The lobster was definitely fresh and was seasoned with just the right amount of Cajun spices. The roll came with a wedge of lemon which I squeezed all over my lobster meat. It was seriously the best lobster roll I've ever had! The roll was somewhat sweet and very buttery. I savored every bit of that lobster roll! Moving on to the Clam Chowder, THIS was the clam chowder I had been searching for! It was thick and had a generous amount of clams and potatoes. That with the lobster roll, BEST.COMBO.EVERRR! Especially since my friend and I were freezing from walking outside in the 33-degree weather for 90 minutes. I came here to try Boston's famous lobster salad roll and clam chowder combo which came with a drink (~$24). The lobster salad roll wasn't too flavorful. It literally tasted like lobster and mayo. Maybe that's just what a lobster salad roll is but it didn't fulfill my taste buds. One good thing was that the portion of lobster was very generous. The clam chowder was good! It was creamy and had the right amount of saltiness. Overall, I don't think a mayo-based lobster roll and a creamy claw chowder is a good combination. It needs more flavor. They do have hot sauce (tabasco and cholula) which does help, so ask for it! If you're not a big fan of mayo, don't get the lobster roll just because it's famous. read more

Was on a hunt to find my first CHOWDAAA in Boston :) got their medium size New England clam chowder (in pic). One thing I appreciated is that they try their best to fill it up to the very tippy top. No room for sad gap between the soup and lid at all. Comes also with oyster crackers. Taste was nice -- definitely more actually solid connect (potatoes/ clam) then what you get out of Campbell's. The highlight of the food vendors at Quincy Market is undoubtedly Boston Chowda Co! During the peak hours, the line can get very long and when you're in a food hall it can become a bit hectic for some. However, the bottom line is, it's very well worth the 20 minute wait! If you do come here during dinner time, the line is much much shorter though. As for the food, I don't think I really need to state this, but will anyway, The New England Clam Chowder is a must! If you're buying for 2, skip the bread bowl though and go for the quart of clam chowder! I always felt the bread bowl was too much bread and too little chowder. In addition, if you still have money in your pocket, get the Maine Lobster Roll! The lobster was so fresh and the bread was still toasted when we grabbed a table to bite into it. There are two main queues inside the tightly packed market. Hordes of tourists crowded at the registers not sure what to order. The owner was pushy and belligerent in his acknowledgement of each customer and practically shouting at you to get the pre-set special of lobster roll, chowder bread bowl and drink. We managed to get through the queue and quickly ordered our hot lobster roll and small bowl of chowder, no bread bowl. Our to-go food arrived quickly and we ate outside in the public seating area. Immediately upon picking up the roll I noticed the sitting seafood smell and also realized my hot roll was not hot at all. Rather the roll was toasted and got cold and the lobster was room temperature and rubbery. The chowder saved the meal though not very much clams in the thin soup base. Flavor profile of chowder was all there, not much to chew on except a stray piece of clam and copious potatoes. Added the oyster crackers in the end for some semblance of texture. All in all, the rolls here were the least memorable during our time here in Boston. I'd recommend you venture away from Quincy Market for a hot roll elsewhere, such as Neptune's up the way - theirs was fresh, juicy and hot! read more

It's in a mall type setting with LOTS of food options (see photos) and then a central food court seating area. I got the "buttered lobster roll". While it was good, $20 is ridiculous. It's too small a meal to justify that price point - even in the financial district of Boston. I got the "combo". Lobster roll, clam chowder and a drink and it was $30!
