I have passed this hidden gem a thousand times and stopped today forvthe first time. WOW burgers done right, I had the french burger, 1/2 lb patty with catsup, tomato, onion and mayo on a French roll. Soft fresh bread, well cooked and juicy patty and the taste was fantastic. Also ordered double onion rings and these are quite tasty. They do not strip themselves of onion on the first bite. Topped this off with a large butterfinger milk shake, thick and creamy with butterfinger in every taste. I give these guys 5 stars and will be back to try other items of their full menu. read more

My nephew exclaimed, "These are the best nuggets, fries and shake I've had in my entire life!" I was really surprised at how good this food was. It's decent. To be fair I know this isn't fine dining, but maybe i set the bar too high for this place even if it just a drive through. I waited months for it to open. I was thinking it would be like a drive thru burger dive like we had back home in the 90s....Maybe get a good burger and fry basket, a hand dipped cone, or a half chicken and biscuit basket with fries. Or maybe it would be like Food Junction a few miles away which is delicious and an abundance of food for the money, at fair prices. I went with such high hopes that I'd have a go-to place for a pre soccer, or late night meal. The burgers are just OKAY. They are a decent alternative to Mcdonals. The fries are probably the best thing going. The milk shakes are pretty good. I do have an issue with my ranch and thousand island looking and tasting like they mixed seasoning into some sour cream. And I always have to wait a while considering there is no line and I'm sure the majority of the menu is frozen then flash fried. The price isn't worth the quality... but again it's a fair alternative to McDonald's. Might be a good stoner food or perfect meal to put something on your stomach after eating. If you are willing to take the drive go to Food Junction or In n out. If not, and you really want a burger I'd probably pick this place over the surrounding fast food. Again. It's decent. The burgers aren't great, you are probably going to do well just ordering sides, but $7 for a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink isn't too bad. My recommendation to the owner: check out burger junction and model their portions, quality and prices. Keep the variety you have and the flavor. We need a place like you in Rancho but we deserve a little better, and then you will definitely deserve our business. read more

We stopped in the drive thru if the place the other day and got a strawberry sundae and let me tell you they are GOOD! They are generous on the sauce and it comes with whipped cream and a cherry. I would definitely be back to try other items on the menu but the sundaes are a must try. read more

I drove by during lunch time and came in here and ordered a chili burger (no cheese ) which is pretty good, and I ordered some jalapeño wings. Oh man these are one of the best tasting wings ever!. It is a cold day and wanted a warm lunch. Tried this new place. Was surprised that there are only 2 small tables (tiny tables with 2 chairs) so this is not really a dine in place, well, not for very many people. And even if you eat in, food comes to go, in a brown paper sack. Turns out this is their 2nd location, the other in Rio Linda. Had a BLT. Bacon was a pile in middle of sandwich, on slightly warmed white bread had chunks of lettuce and the one slice of tomato was hard with big stem area in the middle. It was really bad. Mushroom burger came with a wad of bacon in the middle (not ordered nor on menu) and had chunks of lettuce (not a leaf or two) and they promptly feel out onto the table. Sheesh. Milk shake was good. Fries were kringle cut, warm not hot. I don't think we'll be coming g back here ever again. read more

This place hits the spot. Their burgers are just the right size, their fries are tasty(and I usually don't like crinkle cut fries!), and their milkshakes are great too! Even their ranch was delicious, I'm pretty sure it's made in-house. The first time I went, I ordered the taquitos, which I wouldn't recommend. Not a lot to say about this place. It looked different so my girlfriend and I decided to try it and honestly it is not worth the time or money the food costs. We went through the drive threw and waited there for a while for hot wings and a corn dog meal. The wings were over cooked but the corn dogs were good. That's hard to mess up. I've only gotten the milk shakes / malts, smoothies, sides and corn dogs. This is my snack place. When I'm craving a milkshake/malt or smoothie and I'm lazy to make it myself I go here. The pineapple milkshake and peanut butter malts are my favorite but the peach smoothies are my go-to this summer. Their French fries have always been freshly fried and crispy. I love just cheese sauce fries and they make it for me whenever I ask. When I'm hungrier their chili cheese fries really hits the spot. The fried zucchini and corn dogs never disappoint either. This place is like all the state fair foods I want but without going to the fair and paying the overly expensive prices. The girls that work there are always super nice and I notice they always throughly check the to go orders before giving them out. I've never had a drive thru order that's missed anything. read more

Not very good! Ordered 2 1/2 lb burgers got 1 1/2 lb burger and 1 1/4 lb burger there was little tiny bacon pieces not strips. Very plain tasting burgers. My uncle and I visited this place yesterday afternoon. Got inside and there was 1 gentleman waiting for his food. We ordered our food and waited about 5 minutes. There's only 2 tables to sit and eat. We wanted to go outside however there isn't any coverings over the tables. As I was eating my food my burger was dry the cheese wasn't melted and all over I should've just went to McDonald's. And their prices are excellent, compared to a lot of other fast food joints. Bowinkle's is yet another Sacramento gem. Definitely will be back! Will never go back to this place! We don't eat fast food much, but decided to try this place because it was new and l like to help new businesses in the area. And, You never know until you try it. First of all, I had to wait 30 minutes in drive thru for our food. I would have backed out of the line, but there were already 2 cars behind me. Ordered the OL' standby 2 cheese burgers, fries, and vanilla Shakes. But, was told the shake machine was broken, so, no drinks. When we finally received the food, it was cold. Fries are the frozen kind, and of course they too were cold. While in drive through line, I could hear the cook coughing and sneezing in the back, and it's cold and flu season. Very disappointed. The wait time was exceptionally long, tried 3 different burgers, 3 tacos, as well as burritos, and it honestly tastes like something you would eat after getting wasted. The food is also pricey, your probably better off with Jack in the box down the street. Lastly our meal was complimented with a frozen beef patty box which carried all of our food.
