Tried Concerto awhile back and thought the place was ok, but recently tried it again and was pleasantly surprised on my experience here. They have several areas that you can dine at the bar or in two other sections of the restaurant. However, it can get a little cold, but they do have fire lamp things that helps a lot. Recommended Items: sweet potato cake 9/10 - not too sweet and so fluffy and delicate! Truffle fries 7.8/10 - not bad but maybe not enough truffle flavor tomato pasta 8/10 - noodles were cooked really well and tasted pretty decent! They do have a lot of other options ranging from pasta, Korean fusion, and other Italian dishes. They have a cocktail and alcohol menu that I didn't order but will be open to ordering next time. They seem to be under new management as referenced by the waiter so looking forward to my next trip here. Our waiter was really helpful and nice! They have ($3) valet parking or street parking available. Didn't need a reservation went on a Saturday night. read more

Today was a very negative dining experience, this place has a major fly issue during warm and hot weather, food was good but it was so annoying having to shoo away flys constantly. I asked one of the workers why there weren't any fly traps and he mentioned there was a manager here that didn't want to put up fly traps cause it looked ugly.. bruh I rather have a fly trap hanging in a corner than constantly shooing away flys from my food. I don't see myself dining here during hot weather until they fix the fly issue. See you guys in winter. read more

A fusion Korean restaurant in K-Town! I ordered a variety of dishes and desserts, but my favorite was the Truffle Pizza. The blueberry macarons were also delicious. Definitely try them after your meal! The staff was friendly and the prices were more affordable than I expected. I will definitely be coming back! read more

A very warm place to share a meal with friends at. Very comfy. Attentive staff and reasonable wait times for the food. My drink was good, but would recommend something else if you were looking for sweeter - I got the iced concerto cream coffee. My friends got hot peach teas (served in very dainty carafe & cups), mulberry matcha latte, and a dalgona latte. read more

A lovely Korean-Italian restaurant in Koreatown. I think the decor is really nice. They have bar, cafe and restaurant area and food from each area can be dined together. Price was a bit high but it's about the same as other places with similar decor. Their cakes and entrees are really good. I love the lobster pasta and the cobb salad. Parking is valet $ but there are some free street parking spaces after the meter time has passed. read more

Surprisingly likeable place, given the fact that the food isn't much. The "super food salad" was basically trail mix, the desserts are middling, nothing on anyone's plate looks particularly inspiring. But the waitstaff are super-nice (and often funny), it's not often crowded, it's usually quiet and comfy, the atmosphere is great for an intimate convo with friends, family, or lovers, and they don't overcharge for the whole thing. So in an area with so so many incredible restaurants, sometimes you need a place to eat and meet, and this is the place. read more

We came with kids and the server Denton had good ideas to keep them occupied. Got the Shanghai crab pasta. It was ok. The crab's texture felt like it's been in the pot for a while, the shell was soft and the meat disintegrates. We got the chicken alfredo too, lasagna, frutti de mare risotto and carbonara and truffle fries. Food was ok, like one of those something you can probably "cook at home but you'd rather go out to meet friends" kind of quality. The ambiance is romantic, what you'd see in Asia, lots of led lighting that looks modern at the same time. However when our food was brought over we were figuring out what the food was and Denton didn't explain what it was so a little bit of detective work there. Price-wise it's ok, for LA prices (always high). Didn't really take pics cuz we hungry lol read more

Went here with a few friends and shared the lobster pasta and tomahawk steak, plus a bottle of whiskey and had the best time. Service was super friendly and warm, with our waiter checking in just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. They seated us in the private room in the back, which was a really nice touch. It gave us a bit more privacy and was quieter than the main dining area, perfect for catching up and hanging out. The lobster pasta was sooo yummy, and the tomahawk steak was soft, buttery, and cooked perfectly. Between the three of us, the portion sizes were just right. I usually just come here for coffee and macarons, so it was nice to try the savory side of the menu too. 7/10 great for a quiet dinner with friends and some sweet treats after :) read more

This place is either closed or they treat customers poorly. I came to see if it was open to order a dessert and the people I did see told me it's closed and turned around. I came during working hours, some kind of explanation would have been the right thing to do. Anyway stay away, it's run down and I feel there are much better cafes in town than to waste your time here. Sad to see the state of this place read more

I had friend from out of town and always loved this place...but I realize it's been a while and it wasn't the same. Saturday for lunch was a ghost town. I was hoping to sit in their outdoor patio but it was closed and they sat me in their fishbowl which is my least favorite area of the restaurant. Food was pretty good and though the pricing is on the higher side, the portions and flavors were good. Both the kimchi fried rice and bulgogi pizza were tasty. I didn't think I'd like the pizza but it ended up being my favorite dish. Service definitely needs improvement. Valet parking. Neighborhood street parking is quite difficult but not impossible. read more

Was just trying to find a nearby pasta spot and came across Concerto with little to no expectations. Food wasn't to die for, but was still good. The kimchi carbonara and margarita pizza were good and filling. I found their Korean-Italian fusion menu interesting and despite there being 1-2 servers on a pretty busy Tuesday, service was quick and hospitable. Would come again for the ambiance. read more

Our team of 10 people visited this place to have our monthly dinner and gathering! We were overwhelmed by all the thoughtful and detailed service the service crew provided! Concerto has the best pasta deals in the city! Why it took me so long to get to this walkable Italian Korean fusion place is beyond me. I'm glad I finally did though. I must admit when we walked in it was a bit confusing, no one greeted us and we had no idea where to go so walked upstairs...which wasn't right. And then we had to walk back down the stairs in a walk of shame. Once we were seated, everything was great. I appreciated they didn't want to disturb our conversations but it took ages to get our check. Overall, service was nice but a little off. That being said, our pastas were both tasty. We enjoyed the Basil Pesto Cream Pasta and also the Bulgogi Spaghetti, which would be better if it had just a little more creaminess to it. Overall though, great pastas, big portions for food prices. read more

Came here with my family for my birthday eve -- and wow, everything was perfect! The Margherita pizza, Jambalaya pasta, and Kimchi carbonara were all super delicious. Denton was really amazing with his service! He made sure all my friends were warm and toasty . Not only the service was great but he was very funny too! We had good times with wines, espresso martinis, strawberry shortcake and cream brûlée. Parking is also convenient with the professional valet attendant. Many people only write reviews when things go wrong, but I would definitely recommend this place. Spacious rooms and great for big, small parties and I will come back with my partner in the future when we're in the area. read more

This place is a popular place in Koreatown however like many before us have said, it is not the place it once was. Although not generally the one to complain regarding service, I did have some complaints regarding my visit. To start off, getting into the resutrant was a bit interesting. There was no one to greet us or tell us where to sit and we had to wait a little while to even see anyone who worked there. Also, after being seated it took the waiter 30 minutes to ask us for our orders/water or anything of the sort. We just sat there wondering if we were ever going to be served. I think that they forgot about us as people who were seated after us were getting their orders taken and being served. Eventually after talking to 3 staff members we were finally able to order our meal. The ambiance was nice . And the food was good. The Kimchi carbonara was really tasty and was a decent sized portion. read more

I would give this place 2.5 star if I can. I've been here a couple times. But didn't eat here but I got eat there food this time. It's great places for eat and drink coffee with friends. Only one waitress working during the day so it was a bit slow but food came out fast. Welcome bread was not good but it's not bad. Bulgogi fried rice(2/5). Lobster pasta(3/5)- I didn't understand why so popular on this menu. Probably it's nice whole lobster came out. Grilled squid salad& grilled octopus salad(4/5)- the salad sauce tasted amazing but squid and octopus was over cooked. Great interior and romantic place. I used to enjoy this place but the last few visits left me really underwhelmed. Here's my two cents... 1. Parking is a b...... 2. The establishment is cute during the day and can be romantic at nights 3. They changed up the menu and now the food is just okay. The salmon salad was my go until they got rid of it. I've tried other salads and it was just okay. 4. They have decent coffee. 5. What happened to their desserts??? One of the times, they didn't have ANY macrons and that this what they are known for. I ended up getting other desserts which were old and stale. It was very disappointing... I work across the street and my office orders lunch from here periodically. However, every time we order something seems to be off or missing. Also, the wait seems to get longer and longer. I don't know what is going on, but I hope they figure it out soon. read more

Wow haven't had such a horrible experience. Literally just like Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares. Booked for 2 for our valentines dinner tonight and the restaurant was absolutely understaffed and not prepared. You had one waiter serving over 15 tables upstairs. I spoke with table next to us and it took one hour for them to receive their appetizers. Wife and I decided to just walk out they wouldn't even notice anyways. Don't know what this restaurant manager was doing or thinking. read more

My first time here was dinner with a huge group. We took up half of the outdoor patio area. I'm not a fan of these long table set ups because it's hard to interact with people on the other side. Of course we had a reservation for our big group. Outside of having a large group, I do not think reservations are needed. The menu is quite extensive for a cafe. They seemed to have Asian/Italian fusion, like kimchi fried rice and seafood nasigoreng. The lobster pasta $30 sounded really good, but my eating partners who ordered it said it was just ok. The lobster wasn't very fresh I guess. I had the margherita pizza, which got cold real fast. It didn't taste as good so I had leftovers. I also tried the tomahawk pork cutlet, which ended up being too sweet for me. It was like a ketchup sauce that I did not appreciate on a pork cutlet. The tangy coleslaw that came with it helped the sauce go down. I've heard they have very good desserts and apparently there is an upstairs to this place, so those would be reasons for me to come back! The women restroom is inside past the bar. The men restroom is in the indoor dining area. Parking in Koreatown is hard to find. There are metered street spots (free after 6 PM) nearby. There is a parking structure just next door, but they do close around 5/6 PM. read more

I came here Friday evening with a friend at around 7 PM. We got to seated super fast. I ordered the kimchi carbonara and she ordered the pesto pasta and both were so yummy. The staff was also very attentive and sweet. When we wanted to take a picture of our pasta, one of the waiters came by super quickly to rearrange our plates and put a nice placemat and flowers on our table so the picture turned out nice as you can see in the photo below. :) they also seem to have a lot of desserts, I didn't get to try, but other tables had ordered and it looks so yummyyyy. Ambience is casual but a little formal like you could dress up for a cute date night. read more

I just got home from having a fantastic dinner with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. This was my first time at Caffe Concerto, and I had never even heard of the place before. My first impression arriving at the restaurant was that it is super cute!! The restaurant is located upstairs, separate from the Bakery area downstairs. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, and I ordered the truffle risotto for my dinner, and the crème brûlée for my dessert. I also had an espresso martini, which was absolutely delicious!! I am not a big drinker, so when I think a cocktail was very well made, you know it was REALLY GOOD. :) Our waiter, Denton, was an absolute delight and just added to the entire experience for the evening. We asked him to take some pictures of our group, and then also asked if we could get a picture with him before we left. He has such a vibrant and fun personality, and is a great photographer as well!! :) I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and will be recommending it to my friends. read more

I had an amazing dinner here with a group of friends on a Sunday night to celebrate our friend's birthday. The ambiance was nice and cozy at night, and I ordered the lobster pasta. Delicious! We also got a full strawberry cake--not too sweet, which was perfect. For a Sunday night, the restaurant wasn't too busy. Not sure how the other days are. Our server Denton was also wonderful!!! I'm looking forward to the next time I dine here! I've got my eye on the truffle pizza. read more

Thankfully that wait is not TOO long compared to the 2-3 hour wait lines during peak, and 3rd street is very walkable. There are lots of store to window shop or some coffee shops that might be a great place to kill some time.

FIRE HAZARD. I'll get to that in a second. I often come here and have always enjoyed myself, eating cake and macarons, drinking yummy cocktails and coffee, and having good conversation in a very classy and welcoming atmosphere. Caffe Concerto WAS always one of my favorite 5-star cafes in Ktown (especially for their above-standard macarons and despite their pricey menu), but when I left with BURNT HAIR after one particular visit, I had to reconsider. I was standing, waiting to go to the downstairs bathroom, when after a few minutes, I heard the very unpleasant sound of something singeing and burning. Quickly I patted away at my back, and felt the horrible feeling that something on me was burnt. My sister came out of the bathroom and I asked her if my cardigan was burnt, and she just said, "Oh no...." A good chunk of my hair was burnt off. Behind me while I had been waiting was a tall corner table (one of those that come up to your chest), and on the edge of the table were two candles, just simply out in the open and aflame, NOT in a jar or any protective candle holder. There is not much room to wait outside of that downstairs bathroom, and I was waiting like any normal person would in front of that table. Maybe I should apologize for having long hair, but there is absolutely NO GOOD REASON to have candles lying out in the open. Sure, I understand that it is a decorative effort, and having candles in mason jars or whatnot is totally fine. But out in the open, it is a FIRE HAZARD. This may sound like a comical story about a poor girl's hair being burnt, but it's a serious issue and I'm lucky to not have had my cardigan catch on fire and burn my skin. I told the manager (Korean male, late 20s-early 30s?), who was extremely apologetic. He told me that those candles should NEVER have been there and apologized profusely. Although he didn't even offer to take care of our check (which honestly would have been a nice touch considering his customer's hair just got burnt off for his restaurant's mistake), I just told him to never leave candles out like that so no one else's hair would be burned off. Maybe I should have been more upset, but I'm usually a very nice person and I just hoped for anyone else's sake that those candles would never be put there in such a miscalculated spot again. So I left, despite this incident, still considering Caffe Concerto one of my fave cafes. Yesterday, I went again with my family, and to my disbelief, the same candles were out in the open, aflame on the edge of the tall table in front of the bathroom. Obviously the manager did not take his customer's hair being burnt in his own restaurant seriously AT ALL and simply left those candles as is, and that immediately made me lose my respect for him and this establishment. FIRE is ALWAYS a serious issue, and the fact that those candles were still there pissed me right off and I honestly do not ever want to go back and spend my money to support this restaurant. *** WARNING!!! DANGER!!!*** (Read to the end) The service here is absolutely below par (never seen such horrible service in my life). I came here with 4 friends and we ordered coffees and desserts and it took 30 plus mins to get 3 of the 5 coffees and 45mins to get 2 of the 3 desserts and we never even got spoons or napkins for them that we asked for twice, we also never got the waters we asked for 3 different times with 3 different staff members. The thing that really ticked us off was we ordered a creme brûlée the last ONE! We know it was the last one because a couple that just sat down behind us after we ordered 35mins ago tried to order one and their waiter told them they were completely out... 5 mins later they magically got a creme brûlée. OUR CREME BRÛLÉE that was given to them obviously by their friends. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to go work behind the counter yourself and make/serve your own coffees, desserts, napkins, utensils, etc. We could not even get the very BASIC essential services expected at any restaurant/cafe. I've had a million times better and excellent service from Denny's than this establishment . It also took 15 plus mins just for the manager to fix this debacle when we just wanted nothing more than the check so we could just leave the place and that wasn't even happening for us, we were trapped there, it was like being stuck with nowhere to go watching a complete disaster. Also, the last 2 coffees came out when we only started to leave and after the manager waived our bill for ONLY the 3 of 5 coffees that ever showed up after like what seemed like hours. Hour or so for coffee to show up after our other friends were finished with their 3??? That is absolutely unacceptable for a so called professional establishment. Oh, then I started to receive unwanted harassing, threatening to harm and come hunt me down type mentally unstable stalker private messages on the same night as well as the next morning by one of the female servers named Bienca that was there that night. Does this establishment do any kind of background check on their employees prior to hiring??? If you decide to come to this establishment it is at your own risk, watch out for this mentally disturbed female server named Bienca. A decade ago, as a food columnist, I discovered the charm of Caffe Concerto in Koreatown. It was a time when afternoon tea was a delightful trend, and Caffe Concerto was a go-to spot. Fast forward to today, and I revisited the transformed space, now known simply as Concerto, which has expanded beyond its original concept. Concerto now stands out with its stunning white loft, a unique presence in Koreatown. This transformation has brought a fusion of Korean and Italian flavors under one roof. The restaurant is thoughtfully divided into four areas: a traditional Fine Dine space, a vibrant bar, a sunlit garden lounge, and a bakery that's a nod to its roots. While Concerto Bakery continues to delight with its famous Cream Bun, the restaurant itself offers a diverse culinary experience. From brunch to pasta, steak, coffee, cocktails, wine, and desserts, it caters to a wide array of tastes and occasions. Initially, I was curious about how Korean and Italian cuisines would meld. To my pleasant surprise, the fusion is executed with finesse. The chef has skillfully combined these two distinct culinary styles, creating bold and sophisticated dishes. The food is a testament to their bakery origins, with crispy, chewy bread that sets the tone. The Burrata Cheese with basil and tomatoes is a classic Italian delight. The pizza, with its generous toppings and crispy edges, is a must-try. Grilled Squid Salad carries a hint of smokiness, and the salad dressing is perfectly tailored to Asian palates. The steak is top-notch, but do communicate your preferred level of doneness. The highlight for me was the Kimchi Carbonara - a fusion masterpiece. this was my first time at caffe concerto! and I like this place. the décor of the place is so pretty/nice and so unexpected. Food is really good !!! Here is what my friends and I ordered and what I got to try: I tried the red sauce lobster pasta ( which I loved), the cream sauce lobster pasta ( which is also to die for), the squid ink mushroom pizza ( which was just okay~), the squid ink veggie pizza ( also just okay), truffle fries ( which was sooo good), Indonesian fried rice ( yummy ) & calamari ( which was good too) Dessert: Macarons and cake! I really want to come back here for their blueberry cake, the blueberries are fresh blueberries that are frozen so you get this special surprise in every bite... MMMmmm I am still thinking about the cake... I would definitely come here again. (( the reason I only put 3 stars vs 5 is something that might be a game changer for some ppl.... there was a dead TINY worm in my friends French flower champagne.... I think it was from the strawberry and yes that's disgusting but im assuming it was one bad strawberry....if anyone told me this prior to coming I would not want to come here but because I liked the food and the experience I had here------the worm thing I can sort look past it....I mean.. of course they didn't do it on purpose... but still.. eww--- I would just not recommend the French flower..* on a good note we did tell our server and our whole table got free macarons for the trouble of the French flower fiasco... I'm really going to have to try this place a few more times to get a real feel for it, but this was my first time here, so take it with a grain of salt. The place is really nice. Large, airy, different. We were first seated upstairs, which was really stuffy. And by stuffy I mean hot. We were sweating. Also, we were up there for over 5 minutes and no real acknowledgement, so we made way downstairs to be seated outside. Oddly enough they took our menus away. Outside we were seated in a weird dirt area, but we got blankets (LOVELY touch with the wrap) to keep warm if we needed to. More waiting. They allow smoking on this particular patio, so be wary of that if you're not into it. Our server was really quite nice, but the waiting was irritating. We got tea, water and a few desserts. I think charging $6-7 for bagged tea is silly, but the presentation and glassware was beautiful. I do like the brand of tea (Tea Forte, if you are curious) though. The fruit tart looked good and the fruit was fresh. The tiramisu was very nice, but was more like a custard than anything. I loved the little biscotti cookie that came with it. Oh, the background music was really odd. "Copacabana" played, you guys. ABBA, too. There was also some weird pauses in music. I didn't even try to understand it. The average age of the patrons there was about 25-30. You'd think maybe some top 40? A chill mix of something? Elevator music even? ANYWAY. It's a nice addition to a bustling area. Absolutely loved our dining experience here! Every dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented -- definitely a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. Here's what we ordered: Bruschetta - Such a stunning appetizer! The base bread was perfectly crispy, topped with smoked salmon that had a light, tangy flavor. I also really enjoyed the prosciutto version -- rich and savory, both were excellent starts to the meal. Grilled Squid Salad - Very generous portion! The squid was tender yet had just the right amount of chew, and the fresh veggies on the side made the whole dish feel light and refreshing. A great balance of flavors and textures. Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza - Classic and so satisfying. The prosciutto added a nice salty depth, while the arugula brought in that peppery freshness. It's the kind of pizza that pairs perfectly with a glass of wine or beer. Filetto Pepe Verde - The filet mignon was incredibly tender, cooked just right. The green peppercorn sauce added a bold, peppery kick without overwhelming the meat. Rich, flavorful, yet refined. Strawberry Shortcake - Always a favorite dessert of mine! This is my second time visitation to this location. Can't leave out to mention that this place is known for a trendy bistro in the heart of Koreatown LA. They had a lot of things to offer in their menu from appetizer to dessert with handful of alcohol selection. For those wondering about the parking situation, there is a valet parking service where charges $2 only at right out front. Have some spare singles in your pocket before hand! We started with some desserts on the table, ordered pairs of macaroons, a slice of strawberry short cake, and a small jar of green tea -great for sharing. The cake was very soft and literally melting in my mouth every bites I had. Our server came back multiple times in a nice timely manner if we wanted some extra hot water in the jar, napkins, anything else. At the end, I held on a whole cake for take-out Service was above and beyond. The guy manager had tossed some extra macaroons in our to go bag which was an unexpected move. My friend got super excited and that he made our day. I just had one of the best not just Italian meals in all the times I've been to Los Angeles, but, certainly, one of the best meals. I get to LA about once a month and I'm constantly looking for new in different places to eat. Being of Italian ethnicity and growing up in the restaurant business, I am very VERY picky when it comes to Italian food. Everything about my meal was perfect.. My water glass was never empty, my food was delivered hot and fresh, and a slightly special request was accommodated with pleasantness rather than frustration. The pasta I had (Zuppa Di Mare) was full of vibrant flavor, and the noodles themselves were homemade and cooked perfectly. The portion, although slightly on the smaller side, was still plenty. The real treat, though, was the fresh cannoli for dessert. It was spectacular. If you haven't eaten at Drago, you owe it to yourself to try it read more

The staff proactively contacted us via text and phone to ensure all our needs were met before our guests arrived. Upon our arrival, the setup was impeccably arranged. Our waiter, Michael Jacksonel, along with Nina, provided outstanding service, ensuring our every need was attended to. The cuisine was superb, and the service was equally impressive. Fantastic Dining Experience at Concerto Cafe! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Concerto Cafe, and I must say, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Caffe Concerto is a great new spot in K Town and they don't serve Korean BBQ or have karaoke. They do, however, serve some great black squid ink crust pizza, some delicious pasta dishes and an assortment of some tasty tapas plates. Pair that with a delicious glass of wine from the impressive wine list or try one of their hand crafted specialty cocktails. Not a wine or specialty cocktail person? Not a problem. Caffe Concerto has a full bar with several great bottled beer options as well. I suggest trying the Firestone IPA. Dining is available until 11 PM nightly downstairs, at the bar, where you can watch the game on a large high def screen, on either of the 2 patios, or upstairs in the main dining room. After dinner, have a coffee and stuff your face with one of the 24 flavors of macaroons. Mmmmmm read more

This place is next to another cafe called Haus and fried chicken place. the exterior is white and very romantic style. Inside is well decorated too. especially second floor. Most of times there is no wait but I recommend you to make an appointment if you want to sit upstairs. I feel like lot of business people come here for meeting and lot of older and hip crowd. I never seen children here lol. Food is a bit expensive but very tasty. I got the steak risotto thing that came with risotto with just meat but the taste was wonderful and filled my stomach just right. the waiters and waitresses are very nice and keep pay attention to all the tables. There are also cute desserts you can look at on the first floor so you can see how well they kept that place high quality. I like it lol read more

I never really understood these Korean-style Italian-fusion type of cafe restaurants. However, Concerto is a level above the rest. My friend suggested we get some food delivered because we were being lazy - she was using one of those on-demand delivery apps cus she found a promo code for it (RushOrder was the name of the app, and promo code was HUNGRY3 which i think might still be valid). As an appetizer, we got the Mushroom Salad which had a nice balsamic dressing with sauteed mushrooms. good to start with. We also did the crab c akes which i thought were delicious, but could've been a tad crispier. I opted for the Seafood Risotto (delicious!) and she opted for the grilled Chicken breast which was still moist and nicely seasoned. Was delicious and would definitely recommend. read more

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Denton was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was simply outstanding--every dish was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I especially loved truffle mushroom pizza, which was one of the best I've ever had. The attention to detail in both the food and service truly made this meal unforgettable. I have just visited this restaurant for my daughter' s birthday. We ordered spagetti with meatballs. The meatballs were unbearable. They tasted stale, uncooked, hard, and like cooked out of frozen ones. We politely asked to take back take the dish back and the waiter's answer was that they don't take back any dish that is eated partially. I took a bite out of a meatball and my wife had a bite to confirm the horrible taste. Finally, a manager came and took the dish back. I was very disappointed of the tastes of such basic dish as spaghetti with meatball in an so called Italian restaurant and of the poor policy. read more

i was here 2 times now on lunch. just good thing was presentation. not really good taste service was not really good. my water was running out but server never refiilled before i ask. even it was not busy. first time when i visit ordered mushiroom and chicken rose pasta no recommad sever recommedanation this. seabass was tooo much vinegar seasonning. Crispy Garlic Shrimp not bad but not really good. second time i visit i ordered rib eye steak medium rare was tough, Steak & Cheese Risotto was not bad but i won't order again, Ceviche was normal.. read more

$20 for a medium size Pizza that was mushy is way tomuch. Fresh Mushrooms with cheap Mozarellanot cooked well at all, since you could still see the cheese chunks. I will admit, good service, great atmosphere, but crappy Pizza. We got a bread basked with great pesto sauce. Unfortunately, the bread was super hot (clearly heated up with a microwave) for 5 min than cold and like a bricks. Tip to the owner, please hide the microwave on the second floor. You can't charge $20 for a Pizza and have Microwave in the kitchen. No matter what u use it for. read more

Especially, for…read morethe pasta restaurant category.. in the Asian-Italian style, this has beaten everything I've had from Japanese Italian, Korean Italian, any fresh-made-pasta fusion style. The quality and flavor execution was excellent,.. first bite, first course (appetizers), there is an understanding that the food at Lapaba is mature, elevated, not challenging but layered with flavorful personalities. Nothing punches you in the face, each dish balances the contrasting notes and allow a complimentary taste to tell the story. The best example of this experience was the seasonal salad, it was heirloom tomatoes on our visit. There was 3 types in the dish- a beefy, cherry, and plum... everything was sliced so I might be off on the variety. But it was distinct that there was more than 2 varietal. One bite, there was a strong umami taste, next a sweet salinity taste, after a fresh fruity tanginess... which all tasted of the best tomatoes that can be. All of theses unique flavors were countered by a fragrant basil that was chopped in large pieces, very bold and herbaceous so that every tomato piece was amplified upon each spoonful. The dressing probably had me at awe, as explained by the server it is a tomato water that is fermented and distilled-or-filtered so it brought a tomato essence but tasted like a smooth soy sauce that was umami filled without a salty impression which let's you know tomato is the superhero and I Stan for superheroes. A sidekick in the dish was Amareth Seeds, popped, giving a light crunch and provided clingy support for the dressing to the tomatoes. We did level up and added a burrata to the salad, as a suggestion by our waiter. It was amazing, it gave the salad a luxurious creamy texture that made the other textures stand out. The burrata is not made in-house, confirmed by waiter, yet... best burrata I have tasted. It had a milky-wet creamy cheese center with a thin soft skin. It has a delicate sweet cream flavor that no other burrata I've experienced comes close to it. Totally a worthwhile addition to the salad. The rest of the dishes we ordered were on the same level as the heirloom tomato salad. Everything was delicious, well received by everyone in our party. I would emphasize getting the fried chicken (lollipoped, so yummy with the house ranch), agnolotti with smoked scamorza, orechietti and sausage, rigatoni with korean meatballs, aged ribeye steak,.. I guess anything on the menu. Honestly, personal preference and allergies will be the decider when choosing your dishes. For example, the Little Gem Caesar, it was dressed in a sauce based on fermented tofu instead of anchovies and it was a delicious re-imagining on a popular salad ...as it was tasty and enjoyable for me, one person didn't like it because they didn't like fermented tofu. But, I would recommend the Little Gem Salad for people that have a wider palate or want to try something new,.. it is such a smart way to use a funky ingredient and make it delicious. The level of cooking at this place is high, I've been to restaurants that aspire to cook at this level but are years from being so refine. This place is impressive, but exudes relaxing energy... it is a bright modern space with a fashionable touch which makes it a good place to go with friends or for a nice outing without the stress of wearing the super fancy duds. The dishes are sized intimately so the portion size is conducive to the ordering style of Antipasto, Primo, Secondo, Contorno, & Dolce (which shouldn't be missed, i love the BTS - Brown Butter w/ Black Truffle Softserve). But as each plate hit the table, that perception fell and fell until it kind of ended up as one of those places where you'd be open to revisiting, but you wouldn't give any of the dishes a second chance. - Housemade milk bread w/ buckwheat honey and black garlic butter. - the bread arrived as if it had sat there for a few hours, neither warm nor soft, bare minimum for a restaurant that charges for bread. - Fried chicken - decent, but quite a small portion, with the texture and glaze feeling inadequate compared to any Korean fried chicken spot you could find - Agnolotti cheesy corn - probably the best non-dessert thing we had, very cheesy but the sweet corn helped keep it from being too rich - Radiatore galbi jjim - praised as the "absolute favorite pasta" dish from my server and quite honestly one of the worst things I've had this year. Reminds me nothing of galbi jjim, and maybe closer to if someone threw some pasta into beef bourguignon, as it was sickly rich and inundated with wine flavor. - Flannery ribeye - was excited to see how they revamped the menu with more entree options, but this was closer to okay than bad, sold as 'melt in your mouth' but reaching nowhere close. - Tiramisu-garu - personally, I thought this was too much of a boozy dessert, even as someone who enjoys makgeolli, just not in my desserts in such a strong way - BTS - maybe the best part of the meal or just a coping mechanism from everything before it, but this was solid and not too sweet.

While I ordered nearly every skewer and had to have a childhood favorite, tteokbokki, I was surprised to try such a tasty soup served before the real meal began. This whole establishment is a vibe! The lighting and seating are perfect for a photo op or two, and when they say the spicy chicken is spicy, they mean it. I can see why it's worth the wait to dine in one of K Town's best eateries. Now here's the kicker! There were 2 girls (Korean I assume) sitting comfortably at a 6 top eating and both facing the screen. So.... What you're saying is if we spoke Korean or were Korean we would have been seated comfortably and facing the screen?? Cool! Remember, place was empty aside from 3 tables taken and the smallest party of 2 was sitting at the 6 person table. We came to eat and instead we left and found a way better Korean restaurant to eat and watch. Guess things work out!

Parking can be difficult as it is with most places in KTown. They do offer valet on select times, but otherwise may need to find paid parking at a lot depending on the time of day. It's LA, not South Beach. Let the high quality of the food speak for itself. No one wants a party. They want great food and to talk and drink with friends and fam.
