Would always pass this area of town prior to trying out CF & didn't even notice it was there ! Glad I stopped in last Tuesday (9/6), I really enjoyed everything I tried ! We started w the pear salad , it was refreshing & light . We also tried the clam chowder which was up there as one of my favorite dishes from the night. We tried the asparagus soup which was also good but not my favorite . I got the beef Wellington cooked med rare & my date got the wagyu ravioli . The presentation of the beef Wellington was beautiful! It was really good but I loved the ravioli even more ! We ordered the key lime pie for dessert , it was really good (prob would have been better if I had eaten it right away). The vibe inside the restaurant was kind of different than anywhere I had eaten before which was interesting . The service was great though! And as I was doing, so the guy answered the phone had a little bit of an attitude and made kind of a smart ass comment. I told him that was a dumb comment and he didn't respond "F--k you man". I also believe he still does the catering part but his main focus is that small restaurant. The servings are large, and the variety is there. Oh my goodness. I'm not sure where to start. I enjoy finding off the beaten path dining experiences, especially on road trips, I love adventure AND great food. This restaurant is truly a diamond in the rough. You literally have no idea how gourmet and sophisticated the menu is as you pull into, essentially, a strip mall in Granada Hills. I'm telling you the food is spectacular! We had: Beef Wellington (the best I've encountered!) Fried Brie (truly decadent, perfectly executed) Clam Chowder (quite delicious) Steak sandwich (it's just a sandwich but it was one of those, "this is the best steak sandwich evers " moments And French fries. You guys. The French fries were even amazing!! We had dessert too, they were both delicious! I wanted to try something new so I checked out this place And ordered beef Wellington It came with clam chowder and yummy dessert. I couldn't believe how the dish was beautifully prepared. Not only that The presentation was so good but the meat was very tender, juicy and delicious! You get a 3 course meal for $48 and every Wednesday is $40 but worth it. Let's start with the location which looks like a liquor store from the outside. I'm guessing they keep their costs low so they can make their excellent food at a price they can make money at. Next the service is classy and even elegant. The salad included in my meal had everything but lettuce in it, micro greens and tiny purple colored tomatoes. Best salad I've had in a while! Free bread was fluffy, light and crunchy on the outside. The scallops in my spicy dish were cooked perfectly. I like spicy and it definitely was spicy where I know my wife wouldn't like it but I loved it. We came in after seeing the amazing pictures a neighbor had posted on nextdoor. They raved so much so we had to give them a try. We had pre-told them that I was a vegetarian since it's Covid and it's been harder to find options available. They sweetly accommodated. We ordered a bottle of wine to share between 3 of us, which by the way they have a great wine selection! Our meals started with a salad, I liked it so much I forgot to take a picture. The dressing was light and delicious. They gave us a bread and butter to share while we waited for our food, which was fluffy and airy. My fiancé and his mom ordered the filet mignon medium well and were pleasantly surprised when it was cooked to perfection. They sauce nicely complemented the meat and mashed potatoes. The chef wanted to make me a special meal which now I'm kicking myself for not trying but I really was in the mood for pasta since I hadn't had a good plate of pasta in years. They really loaded the vegetables and I was in heaven. It was perfectly al dente and the sauce was a light flavorful tomato sauce. I'm hungry just thinking about it. The filet mignons came as a dinner combo so we were able to try the chocolate cake and strawberry cheesecake. The pictures say it all. We didn't leave even one bite. The chocolate was like a lava cake and the cheesecake had an amazing crust. We can't wait to come back! We had the best time talking to the waitress, so much personality and so sweet. The chef even came out to see if we liked the food. You can just tell that they care. We love this place for its great food normally found on the menus of at some of the best restaurants but at a very reasonable price. We also enjoy it's quite ambiance where you can have a conversation with all your dinner quests. The service is excellent from very personable servers. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Don't let its location in a strip mall fool you. My wife and her friends used to go for there for lunch but they had stopped serve it a couple of years ago. We just found out they have resumed lunch service for limited hours. Awww man, wanted to like this place, but for a thirty dollar lunch special, I was expecting a bit more. It is possible the quality of the lunch special differs from that of the dinner special, but my beef Wellington was not medium rare , but rather medium. Comparing my pics with the dinner beef Wellington, mine lacked the crimson pink- hue beef-center that only a well trained chef can nail. My side bread was uncut, and came with no butter too.
