This review is in response to internet sales and customer service. I understand that there is a lot of browsing and lookie-loo in the car sales game. Many people are thinking about a new car, but not committed to it or actively shopping to purchase. I have sent out feelers before trying to get an idea of what kinds of deals, new features and the like were available. I wasn't in serious car-shopping mode, but more of a curious interest mode. I sent a query on Edmunds.com about a couple of pre-owned vehicles I found there. One was at Concord Chevrolet. To their credit, I received a response back in a very short period of time. Sadly, the vehicle I wanted was no longer available. The internet sales rep sent along a few quotes or suggestions on other vehicles of that style, if not that brand that they had in stock. So far, nothing wrong here. Generally good customer service. I replied back to this email on the same day expressing my disappointment that the vehicle I inquired about had already sold. I also expressed that I had researched the specific make and model I was looking for and while the suggestions were appreciated, I had already ruled those out for other reasons. I stated that I wanted a specific make and model within a set year range, that I planned to actually buy a car in the next 7 days, and if anything matching my specific request came in, could they let me know. This afternoon I got a follow-up email. This email wanted to know if I'd seen the first, had a chance to review the suggested vehicles etc, etc. Here is where Concord Chevrolet goes off the rails sales wise. You sent me a customized to my request form letter to my initial response. You basically told me you didn't have what I wanted. I still took the time to reply and make my interests and needs clear. Instead of replying specifically to my response, or not replying at all until you had what I asked for, you replied back to me with a generic "I'm sure you have questions about the quotes I sent you." Are you? Let me tell you what I'm sure of. I'm sure you can't be bothered to actually read and LISTEN to what I'm asking for. If I said NONE of your suggestions meet my needs, why on earth would I have more questions about those vehicles? Me: I would like to buy the blue corvette in your internet ad. Concord Chevy: We already sold that corvette. Would you be interested in hearing about our new Camaro SS? Me: I belong to a corvette owners club and I really like that color blue. I only want a corvette in that color. Let me know if you get one or can get one in stock. Concord Chevy (next day): Did you think about that Camaro quote I sent you? Do you want more information on that Camaro or would you like to look at any of our other great Chevy products like the new Impala? Me: Do you even read replies? I gave two-stars because it started off well and answered my primary question.. .no you don't have the car I actually wanted to talk about. The staff at Concord Chevrolet was great, the manager Jet worked with us to get the best offer on a 2017 Chevy Traverse after I had been watching the price on it. Lisa the finance manager was busy but accommodating while helping us. The whole staff stayed late to get us written up for the purchase. They didn't have time to detail it but that wasn't a big issue. Two days after we drove it off the lot the "Service Stabilitrak" light and check engine light came on. I researched and found this is a common problem with many GM cars. My bigger issue was driving out of my way to Concord from Sacramento to purchase the car, with the sensor issue driving back there to repair the car was an issue. Luckily I got the warranty but wasn't aware that it didn't go into effect for 30 days. So now I am paying for a car I can't safely drive until Tuesday when I can take it into my local dealership for repairs, and I'm not even sure the warranty will cover it. I have been in contact with the finance manager and the sales manager to hopefully correct the situation, we will see how that goes. I would warn customers to thoroughly check the car before purchase and ask Concord Chevrolet to improve their service department. read more

Horrible bait & switch when buying a pre-owned car. Arranged sale & pickup, purchased insurance & cashier check for the pickup - and was then told that the car was sold to somebody else. Calling out Darren Menez specifically on this - stay away! Hilariously, the person at the insurance company hotline was more sympathetic than the Chevy Dealership (where my calls were carefully placed on hold and ignored). My initial intention wasn't to write a negative review of Concord Chevrolet. When I purchased my car, I felt like I got a square deal, and their service and tire pricing is relatively reasonable. My concern is when they falsely stated I needed to have my brake fluid changed and transmission serviced. It turns out, neither of these items is listed under the maintenance schedule as outlined by Chevrolet for my specific vehicle. If you look under "Maintenance Schedule for your 2017 Chevrolet Volt" at https://my.chevrolet.com, neither of these items is listed. I asked to speak to a service manager and was told they weren't available. When I left a voice mail, I never received a callback. After four business days, I called to speak to their service manager and was again transferred to voice mail. Finally, I asked to talk to the service manager, who threatened and hung up on me without providing any additional information. I am waiting for the general manager to respond to my inquiry about false service items that appear to be fraudulently assigned to my vehicle outside the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. read more

Not very customer service oriented to say the least. I walked in with my wife in shorts and flip flops asking to lease a new Corvette. it took some time for someone to approach us, Which would've been ok if they were busy, but that was not the case. There had been several people literally standing around and simply just people watching us. we finally got someone, who had, based on what he said, just started working there a few weeks ago. When I told him we were looking to lease a Corvette, he mentioned that he lead us to the person in charge of leasing, and that's when I was VERY disappointed. That person in charge of leasing shook my hand and asked right away; "do you have a credit score of at least 800?" Apparently they only lease cars to the 12% of americans who's credit score is over 800. But anyways, not a big deal. now, maybe my wife and I didn't fit a certain profile (or perhaps fit a different one,) to where that gentleman decided to pass us over to the newly hired sales person, who had little to no idea on how to answer any of our questions, and kept going back and forth every two min. the newly hired guy really did try to help us, (hence the one star) giving us different rates and worked with us from "No you can't lease this car," to "you need $12k down, to $3k down at a slightly higher rate" which was very reasonable for us to say the least. Words cannot express how appreciative I am for buying my 2011 Chevy Equinox from here last year. Today, I experienced the best customer service ever! I truly felt like a trusted customer. I dropped off my SUV for an oil change at 3pm. I received a call about 1 and 1/2 hour later informing me that my vehicle would be ready for pick in about 20mins after a car wash. Well, I was shopping at the Sunvalley mall nearby and by the time I made it back to the dealership, the service department was closed! I missed them by 30minutes. I went into the Sales department completely mortified and asked them how do I get the keys to my SUV (which was parked outside) and pay the total. The men behind the counter didn't know what to do but one guy in particular tried his best to get me my keys so I could go home! Phil went above & beyond and found one mechanic who was still in the garage to help him find my information and keys. The mechanic told him where the Service receptionist keeps the keys..well, they opened a few drawers and my keys were in there! Unfortunately, since their systems are a little different, they couldn't charge me for my service. Phil let me go home with my SUV on complete trust that I'll call the next day and pay my balance. I told him I would and I appreciated his help and customer service. I felt completely trusted by a man I've never met before. I called to get a key copy for my new car and they had only one key in stock! This is Chevy dealership - how is it possible they have only one key in stock? Plus their key machine was broken and they couldn't make a copy of my key! I purchased the key but had to go elsewhere to have it cut. This is unacceptable. I also asked for rubber mats for my new car and they didn't have any! I had to go on E-bay and order them. Sales people rush to you before you even enter the building but when you tell them you are not looking for car they loose interest in helping you. The parking is very limited. I parked on the street but was asked to move the car into the parking lot. I had to wait 15 min for somebody to pull out. There was something going on that day so maybe it was just one incident. After I spent 30 min inside waiting for them to locate the key I had to drive the car into the shops garage to get the key alarm synced. To get a car key duplicate took 1.5hrs! Plus another hour to get the key made elsewhere! I'm disappointed how slow and unorganized this dealership is. Maybe it's time to look for more capable employees! read more

The worst possible service and experience. Took my car in for a warranty repair, was told that it was repaired under the warranty, and that there was NO BALANCE DUE. I was even given an invoice that claimed there was no balance due. A few days later, my wife and I are called, harassed, and annoyed every day to pay up. Apparently the service guy incorrectly invoiced us, and claimed we now owe $155...for their "error". Even though I paid it via phone, I thought I would share with you all the lousy tactics here at Concord Chevy. The people are not very friendly, and they obviously have no regard for customer service at this two-bit dealership. When I even wrote a complaint to their management...I got a phone call asking about which car I'd like to come and test drive...clearly they didn't even read the complaint! Pressed by circumstances, I had to take the car to a GM service department... Not happy, Bob. Not happy. At $180/hr, their labor rates are outrageous, but standard dealer practice. What can I say... I knew that going in. Other than that, no complaints. Took the car in at 8am. They called with an estimate at 11am and it was done a couple of hours after that. They gave me a ride to/from Bart. Sales rep Jag Samra nabbed me a week earlier as I was crossing the lot on the way to the service dept. When I was done in service I asked him a few questions about a new truck, although I was not real serious about buying one soon. He helped me with info. Then a week later I decided I *did* want a new truck and my wife used the Chevy website to search out a truck that matched my needs and printed out trucks available at five dealerships. The nearest one was Concord Chevy so we started out there. Jag saw me and remembered me and helped me search for trucks then he got the truck that was available at Concord and brought it out so we could see it. Nice... This started the conversation, interaction and sales pitch and after hearing his prices I was interested. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. But then it came time to talk trade-in on my ten-year-old Checy truck and I was not prepared to take such a low offer. We were getting up to leave when Jag brought out "Steve" who had located a few trucks for me earlier and he was able to find more rebates and set me up with a better trade-in offer so I bought the truck. Then came the finance/paperwork part and we were helped by "Ken". He had answers to all our questions and was able to get through the paperwork faster than I have ever had happen at a car dealership. He's a smart one and explained all our warranty options, protection packets, etc. So really, the whole process was pretty painless due to these three people. I must add too, that Jag is an exceptionally good sales rep. He was able to answer all my questions about this truck, which was to be "mine" and not my wife's, but Jag always remembered that she was there and involved and he always kept her included in the conversation and process. Overall easy car purchase. Certainly nothing extraordinary...pretty much a typical car dealership experience. Haggled...haggled some more. Got a decent price on the car I wanted, so that was good. Everything got a little complicated since I live out of state. They didn't charge me for out of state delivery which they claimed was $350, but they added $350 to the final sale price of the car I bought, which I was less than impressed with. Oh, one more thing: Since I live in Nevada they had to send one of their drivers to deliver it. The guy delivered it with about 1/4 tank of gas left. I said, "Really? You didn't even put gas in it?" He replies, "Well, I filled it up when I left Concord." The delivery guy was super nice, so I didn't get too worked up about it, but that was definitely NOT A COOL MOVE, Concord Chevrolet. Re Service, We bought a Bolt and a Volt from a dealer in S.F., but have taken them to Concord Chevy for service because it is closer to us. Unfortunately, our '17 Bolt had the battery recalled, which took about a week. Dealership provided a loaner and delivered the Bolt back on the date promised. Last week I brought in my Volt, which was periodically making a loud whooshing sound, like a plane taking off and landing. Of course, the sound went away when I showed up at the dealership. But Service Consultant Jim Pegler volunteered to ride around with me until we heard the sound again. Nada. So he called in their head mechanic, Mr. Uno, to do another test drive with me. Uno is an electronic wizard. He explained why my new Bolt battery wasn't charging properly and discussed other electric anomalies on both cars. After spending about 20 minutes driving around, we finally heard the sound again. It was cause by a small piece of plastic that was bent in the right wheel well, and occasionally rubbed against the right wheel on sharp turns. It took him a few seconds to fix the problem and I was good to go. No charge, of course. Came in today at 4 pm to see if they could squeeze in a 7,500 service on the Bolt, which is just a tire rotation and fluids check. The car was ready at 4:40. Pegler and Uno were all about listening, getting to the bottom of the problem and solving it. They were extremely helpful, efficient and pleasant, rare qualities in auto repair or any other field these days. Big props to you both. read more

I am not into writing reviews but love to read them prior to making my visits. I almost did not visit this dealership based on the not so stellar reviews (mostly on the service dept), but because they have a used Mazda that I am interested in for my daughter, I decided to go. After filling my info on the car ad from their website, I was contacted by Johnny Huyhn who gave me a call right away about the car. I tried to negotiate over the phone but he asked that I visit the lot and will try to work with me. That almost turned me off from visiting as I felt like it was getting baited. However, I still went. Johnny was busy with a customer so he had his partner help me out. HIs name is Bill Escobar. At that time, I felt like there is no way I would be getting this car since I will need to re-negotiate with this man. Well, what I can tell you is we bought the car. Bill is great to deal with! He is so helpful, patient and accommodating. I never felt any pressure from him. Even when I told him that I wasn't happy with the selling price, he worked with me to where I signed on the dotted line. There were some minor fixes on the due bill that needed to get resolved but Bill took care of me. Gave me a loaner car while they take care of the fixes. The day after I took the Mazda to get the minor fixes done Bill called to inform me that his manager did not like the way the tires looked on the car and that they will replaced the two front tires with brand new tires. They didn't have to do that but that tells you want to keep their customers happy. That's Customer Service! Thank you Bill for everything!!! Dealing with these guys when I bought my car was really easy and enjoyable. However once I went in for my 30,000 mile service it was a completely different story. I had been having problems with the "mylink" so I asked the service tech to take a look at it. He forgot while my car was getting serviced, which is annoying, but not that big of a deal. The guy poked around a computer for about 20 minutes before he told me no updates exist for my model and VIN number. Fine, no big deal. However later that day I got a snarky call from the service manager about how he wanted to follow up but made some snarky comment about he didn't know "what I was talking about with the stereo" and implied that I must either be stupid or making it up. THIS WAS FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER! Anyways long story short I call him back (twice, and the GM once because the service manager doesn't call people back.) and he tells me after I describe my problem that an update does indeed exist for my model of car. Now I am starting to get more than just a little annoyed. I ask him how it could take him multiple phone calls to figure out my stereo problem? He says he is too busy with recalls, and then proceeds to complain to me about how hard his job is, for 10 minutes. Save your money, go to Dublin Chevy or Fairfield Chevy DON'T GO TO THESE AS THEY ARE ALL RAN IN CONJUNCTION), unless you want to have to make multiple phone calls, call the general manager, and just get an intolerable run around from the most unhelpful yet potentially profitable portion of the operation. Have had my Corvette in storage for 9 years. Rodney and the Corvette specialist mechanics have really helped me out getting my car back in shape to where it is fun to drive again. They diagnosed a recent problem quickly (replacing the ECM) and the car is running like new. I am really pleased. I have had two bad experiences here in a row and I doubt I will be coming back. Most recently, I came in to get recall parts replaced and order a new key and key fob (much higher prices than quoted as many people have stated). My first quote was $10-$20 for key and $60-$90 for the fob. Ended up being $35 for the key and $150 for the fob. Pricey!! After taking a day longer than expected, I picked up my car from the dealership. The steering wheel and shifter were improperly configured after my recall parts were put in to the point of making the car almost undrivable. How did they not notice how loose the steering wheel was while driving it into the service bay? After I bought it back to have that fixed, my battery "completely" died while in the lot (which had never happened before). Fine, whatever, it was almost time to get a new battery anyway, so I replaced my battery myself on the lot with the help of AAA. It took two different tries to get the shifter fixed, at first they tried to blame it on my car just being like that and having a loose/old shifter? It was awful, scary experience and I was worried my car was going to be completely un-driveable after getting recall parts put in. Thankfully everything that I noticed was messed up by the technician working on my car was fixed. Who knows about all the other parts of my car that I don't know to check... The only reason I gave them two stars instead of the one star they deserve is because I feel like Dung didn't completely brush me off and actually listened to me when I said there were things wrong with my car that were not there before dropping it off for service. Left my Enterprise rental there was promised they will return it. 10 days later got a call from Enterprise asking for their car. The car was still on theit lot and they were wondering why. On the top of it they manage to lose the keys Anyway had to deal with the mess, I just asked them to make a gesture for the couple hundred dollars I had to spend. Maybe send a gift card!
