I've lived in stockton for over 10 years and this place always has a bad rap for bad customer service. However every time I go to dine there or order to go, the male manager is always welcoming with a smile and has his undivided attention on me, which I like. They are sometimes understaffed, especially during the peak hours like lunch, but the waitresses were always kind to me and my party. However, the location isn't the best. There are always a bunch of homeless people roaming/sitting around begging for money. I wish they would go somewhere else as it is clearly a problem for Dennys and that greatly affects the customers and their willingness of wanting to go inside. It's conveniently located right next to a Shell gas station, so if you ever need a bite to eat and refill your gas tank, this is one of the options for you. It's right off the 5 freeway so it's not only locals that eat here. read more

Group of 5 were seated, took over 15 minutes for us to get a drink order, another 15 to get our order, then over 40 minutes for our food to come. The restaurant wasn't even full, maybe 7 other full tables with what looked like plenty of servers going about. Food presentation comes out poorer than the 1 star I rated this Denny's... An ultimate omelette that was basically an inch thick egg pancake with inserts slopped onto it and folded over... The rest was just as bad with over cooked meal items. Cooks don't seem to care about the quality of the food they put out, but hearing the servers trash the cooks was entertaining. Charter and pacific are the worst Denny's in town. read more

I must say this is the first place I've gone to eat at and I didnt leave a tip. Service was slow we couldn't get water or coffee without asking continually. just ate the worst steak ever, Couldn't even finish it. Was very chewy, had no flavor and not juicy at all. There's no way this steak was fresh. Taste like it been frozen since the ice age. Disappointing. Overcooked pancakes. Hamburger dry and unseasoned on a burned, greasy bun. Didn't get the eggs on one order and got an egg white omelet instead of whole egg. Fruit side was frozen, thawed. English muffin was burned also. Other locations of Denny's are usually very tasty with the things we ordered. I blame the cooking on the cook, time for a new one! This is the worse Denny's I've ever gone to. We had a big group coming late at night and it took them 20 minutes to get a waiter to our table. I used to get take out from them since I work on Charter Way but the problem is that they usually get the orders wrong, It's like they aren't even paying attention. The food is usually cold when you get take out as well. If you ask them to microwave your food because it is cold, they give you a dirty look. These people are completely incompetent to run a business!! Zero stars!! Ordered online, order of fries, bacon, fruit, and an orange juice. 20 minutes. Got to restaurant and not a SINGLE person wearing a mask both girls working behind the counters were rude and ghetto the bigger one told her boss she wasn't coming in the next day (forgot the reason) he responded "ok." Waited for 20 minutes and customer after customer got their food. I asked if mine was in order for processing the girl said she's "bagging them as they come." With an attitude of course. First timer here, originally from San Jose. My steaked was cooked welled done as I asked, but the sides of broccoli could of been alil more than the 6 lil pieces they gaved me. Clam chowder was water down (gross)... egg streak omelet was cover with some nasty saucy cheese instead of the american cheese they usually put on top. this location is OPEN!!! today is November 24th 2015 it rained earlier today. My son needed to get a dragon kids cup so we drove 40 minutes to find this place. It is wonderful spot inside. Nice people fast service good food I ordered peanut butter pancake and was full before I got to the pancakes, but I made room for it it is delicious my wife got the ever wonderful chicken fried steak and just as good as always. Came here for Veterans Day. What could've been a pleasant experience ended horribly. Waitress and service was good expect the Cashier who happened to be the manager. 1) I asked the cashier/greeter aka manager if this restaurant honored the veteran discount. He said yes. 2) I asked the waitress which meal was part of the discount. She told me and I order. I also had my kids I ordered kid meals for them. 3) Before I asked for the bill I offered to show military ID. She told me to show the cashier. She was kind to write "VET" in red pen on the receipt. 4) With military ID in hand I waited in line with the kids. I gave the cashier my receipt. I told him I ordered the Veterans Day meal. He nod his head and said ok. I grabbed my wallet and paid him. 5) I left realizing the discount was never applied. 6) I came back and explained to the MANAGER who was the same cashier! he said I should have showed ID and he refused to refund for the discount. He said because I paid cash he can't do anything about it. I happily showed him the receipt that proved I paid by credit card. He said he still couldn't refund. I asked for store credit he refused. I asked if he could check the original reciept it had VET in red letters. It was probably still in the drawer he refused. 7) To make a long story short he said he cannot give me the discount because I didn't showed him ID. I asked why he didn't ask for my ID when I told him I was a veteran before being seated and before paying. The manager told me that he was probably too busy to hear me and didn't notice "VET" written on the receipt. I asked if he could understand that I was busy and I had two kids with me but at least I said I was a veteran. He said he cannot refund me. I didn't argue anymore because it was my fault I forgot to show ID when I told him I was a Veteran. It's so unreal how they get you with technicalities lol. I just wanted a manger to understand or even acknowledge that he should've asked for it when I told him. I learned my lesson. I thank God I left without getting mad without expressing my dissatisfaction. I left respectfully and my last words were thank you! I saved my complaints for Yelp. If you want good costumer service don't come here. The manager is money hungry and unapologetic. Happy Veterans Day to those who served! read more

this denny's is prett good. my nachos always come out just right and i get alot too. the food it good. it's not to busy after midnight and thats when i usually comer here but on sundays it's more packed then the ones on march lane! so i recommend coming here on a weekday or after midnight. read more
