This place has by far, the best dosa in Fremont and surrounding areas. The dosas here are crisp, the right level of spice and the fillings are adequate. A key component of dosa is the quality and taste of chutney and this place delivers. Highly recommend coming here if you like dosas. The rasam Vada was quite delicious as well. The ambiance is reminiscent of older 'cafes' in south India, but could do with some cohesion. The service is good and fast. Definitely stop by for your daily dosa of good food :) read more

Not only was this the best dosa I have eaten it was some of the best customer service I have recently received. My family and I went on a quiet Monday morning because we wanted to try an authentic Indian breakfast. Since we were new to the cuisine we weren't sure exactly what to get. I wandered up to the cash register and the kind worker helped me understand a few of the popular items on the menu. We walked over to the drink area and he even offered me a sample of a beverage I had never heard before (it was a spiced milk and was delicious). Once we had an idea of the menu we put in our orders along with cups of chai for the table. Each plate came out quickly and looked absolutely stunning. The dosas were golden and gleaming, covering the entirety of the tray. We were in heaven. Remember that nice man from earlier in the story, well he came over and offered to refill our dipping sauces for our dosas. We happily obliged. Staffs were really welcoming, polite and customer service was great. We also purchased their idly batter which apparently is preservative free. Visited this place with a group of friends. Definitely suggesting this place to anyone wanting to try wide varieties of dosas.

They started the dine in menu just to attract customers. The very first time we visited the waiter was very nice . But on later visits , the quality of chutneys and sambar just getting average. They even stopped giving drinking water ( tap water) just to make money by charging customers on water bottles. They lost atleast 4 customers today. We are not going back. read more

My friends and I were craving Indian snacks late at night, and when we searched for options at 11:30 PM, Dosa Express was the only place that popped up. We decided to try their vada, and it was perfect crispy. t's amazing to have a place that caters to late-night cravings, especially for young people. Dosa Express was a great find! Ordered lunch online and food was ready on time. I got the masala Dosa/vada combo and one idly/vada combo. Everything was great. The masala Dosa was yummy and they don't skimp on the filling. The chutneys were the best part though. Way better than any other south indian restaurant in Fremont (yes, including idly express!) The sambar (with baby onions) was really good too. My only complaint was the quantity of chutney/sambar was small considering we ordered 2 items. it also comes with a sweet, which was even more tiny :) I also purchased dosa batter and it was super fresh. Tables and chairs acceptable. Bathrooms are common. It was clean but had lot of storage boxes etc. Kids friendly: yes menu is kids friendly Groups: yes good for groups. Although restaurant is small. Food: idlis 5/5 (best idlis so far i have had in bay area restaurants, after what I make at home) Chutneys 5/5 Dosas: 4/5 Vada: 5/5 Sambar: 3/5 (wasn't the best) Coffee & chai: 5/5 Podi dosa: 4/5 Kothu paratta: 3/5: amount of raita for given entree was not sufficient. Either increase the raita amount or decrease the kothu paratta amount. Portions: right amount of condiments for dosa. Definitely will go back there to try other dishes. I picked up a masala dosa, sambar and bissebellebath from here. All the food was horrible. I mean how can an Indian restaurant be this awful. No salt very bland. The sambar was just liquid I could have taken a bath in it. I got the 24 oz and there was only two pieces of carrots in it. Shouldn't these ppl who charge so much have a conscience? A truly excellent South-Indian restaurant with a welcoming ambiance. We tried the Mysore masala dosa, butter masala dosa, and a cone dosa for the kids. The Kesari for dessert was perfectly balanced with the right amount of ghee and tasted wonderful. My kid absolutely loved it. The dosas were crispy and perfectly made. Once the order was ready the young gentleman who handed me it just struck up a casual conversation. He asked me if delivering food is difficult, how many hours I've been out, where I'm from, etc. He just seemed genuinely interested in me as a human being and it was very wholesome and comforting.
