I came here for dinner this week with a friend and loved the decor of the place. The design was well thought out. People sitting at tables next to the window either get a view out the window or in at other tables. This is so much better than restaurants where one side of the table gets stuck staring at a wall. Service was truly excellent by Zander. He even was able to get the ingredients of the dessert options so I could choose one without a specific dietary restriction. The truffle cheese bread was good but that's the only culinary choice I liked. I ordered the grilled Chilean salmon dish. The salmon eaten alone was drenched in salt. It tasted like they poured a bottle of salt on it. The accompanying sauce and couscous eaten alone was so sweet it made me nauseous. The greens that came with it were drenched in too much lemon. The BBQ chicken pizza my friend ordered was too sweet as well. So was the lemon pie. The spicy blackberry margarita was good but too spicy. The next one we ordered without the spice and was not good at all. Very syrupy. I guess the spice took away from that. We both ordered their delightful gin and tonic and thought it was extremely bitter. The Raven and Geary Margarita tasted like salt water. The Local without grapefruit was super bitter. read more

We had a great experience here for lunch, with our pups, on NYE. I like that you can make a reservation, I also like that their patio is dog friendly (and so are the servers!) Super cool vibe and tables spaced out (yeah, that is a thing for me). Our server was fantastic and took great care of us, and brought water for our dogs. I ordered their cocktail "The Local" which was delicious. We ordered the Brussels appetizer, a burger, a Detroit style pizza and topped it off with the Butterscotch Cake. The chicken dishes and pizza at Doughbird are excellent. The chicken is always perfectly prepared, moist, and flavorful. Staff members are friendly and attentive. One recent experience prompts me to make a suggestion. My husband and I ordered the chicken tenders that come with Cole slaw and fries. We both have issues with blood pressure and cholesterol, so we asked if we could have mashed potatoes instead of fries. The server said yes and made a note. The menu shows a list of sides at $8 apiece. Among them are Cole slaw, fries, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. All of the sides are the same price. The server never mentioned an upcharge for mashed potatoes instead of fries. When the bill arrived, it included a $3.00 charge for the change. Because of some recent unforeseen expenses, we watch our budget closely and only order what we can afford. There is no notice or mention of substitution upcharges on the printed menu. I explained to the server that if she had notified us, I would have chosen just to deal with the fries and would not have paid to change. She said that the fee was a policy and their regular practice. The restaurant needs to give notice of this in the menu and needs to have servers warn the customer that there is a fee for a substitution. We thought that given the same price for fries as for mashed potatoes as side orders, there should be no charge to make the change. The manager came over to discuss it with us, and she said that she redid the invoice to give us a military discount that was $2.95 ((10 percent), instead of removing the upcharge. It did not strike us as easy to obtain this adjustment. Also, my husband was in the Air Force for several years, and we had never seen any evidence of a military discount, which would have been helpful on previous occasions. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner for my brother and was extremely pleased with most everything. The standout aspects of our experience were the service and the ambience. From the moment we walked in, we were taken care of so well. Every employee we interacted with was so genuinely kind and very helpful. This made for such a warm, welcoming, and comfortable experience. Great job. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Love all of the plants throughout. The exposed ceiling is cool too. They have outdoor, indoor, and bar area seating. The decor is cool. The wall outside of the bathrooms is chock full of things to look at--my toddler especially enjoyed that. I loved that they had a few mocktails for those of us abstaining from alcohol but who still want a fun drink! I got the blackberry Ricky and it was delicious. Brought a friend here for lunch yesterday. Was yapping to her about how great the pizza was when I went last. We ordered deep fried mozzarella as a starter. They were perfectly hot and crispy and came with a standard marinara sauce. Very delicious! She ordered a margherita pizza hand-tossed and I ordered, hands down, the best salad I have had in a long, long time. I usually don't steer from my yoozh, which is a caesar salad, but I felt like shaking things up a bit and experimented. Best recent decision of my life ordering the Ingredient Salad. I expected big chunks of sweet potato, weird quinoa, and too much sweetened stuff and just all these separate flavors. But the menu copy is very basic. The salad is a chopped salad so you can gather a perfect bit of everything. The dressing is perfectly balanced, not too vinegary or mustardy. I can't say enough, about all things, a frickin salad but I honestly cannot wait to have it again. Caesar, I love you, but I think it's time to dump you, at least here. The restaurant wasn't unmanageably busy for a Monday lunch imo. The parking lot seemed crowded as always but there we found space. Our server was on point. Nice sized portions with a variety of entrees to select from. Started with the Lebanese Hummus appetizer, which is a full plate of hummus and a small puffed pita loaf. Texture was great, but the hummus was very salty. Probably wouldn't order that again Table ordered the Copper Hat pizza which I believe everyone enjoyed. Nice balance of flavor with the sweet dates. Would definitely order again. My entree was the chicken parmesean. Another nice sized portion that I was able to split and take home. Consistent thickness with the right amount of sauce and cheese and not too much breading. Only problem was this one was also very salty, but I would try it again. The orzo was also cooked perfectly and was nice and creamy. Also have a picture of the chicken tenders which were positively rated and the butterscotch cake. We were greatly disappointed yesterday with our experience at Doughbird on Campbell. We've been here before and looked forward to great service and wonderful food, but this didn't happen. I understand the brunch was busy but please prepare for crowds. Our service was mediocre. No checking on our table of six. No refills offered. The milk for my grandson never arrived. The food was not anything special. The Mediterranean salad was drenched with dressing and no pita bread ever arrived. Came to Doughbird for Sonoran restaurant week and what an amazing meal we had!! For a three course meal + an alcoholic drink, this was such a great deal! My friend and I came here without a reservation and luckily there were two seats at the bar! For apps we split shishito peppers and some hummus. The shishito peppers were amazing, and the sauce that came along with it was delicious! Hummus tasted fresh and delicious also! For mains, we got the Aviator Pizza and Prime Rip Dip. The mains were good, but the aviator pizza too salty for our taste (probably from the bacon, pepperoni and sausage). The prime rip Dip was good and the fries were crispy! Now dessert was probably the best thing. The Butterscotch cake was so so good. Nice and crunchy on the outside, ooey and gooey and just so moist when you get towards the center. The service is ok but not great, the servers seem a little rushed and once they take your order they are hard to stop for anything else, but I like being waited on so the fact that they have them is a plus. The bed thing they have is the chicken sandwich, so I will get that every time now. The burger was like cardboard, a frozen burger from a school cafeteria. I got invited to try this place out and I was impressed. The place inside was clean and the tables were set very neatly. I did have to wait 30 min for a table to come available but it was worth the wait. The menu is simple with a few items listed to choose from. I ordered the truffle cheese bread appetizer and a Spicy Blackberry Margarita. The truffle cheese bread was so tasty! I could have eaten the whole thing but I had to leave room for my main course. I might be the outlier here, but holy saltiness! I've been twice now and ordered a variety of salads, starters, pizzas, chicken and chicken fingers and the consensus is that the food is super salty. Perhaps Doughbird caters to the American palate for salt. So if they are then they're right on track, but just not for mine. We had guests from out of town and decided to try Doughbird. It was a busy Saturday night, so the only available seating was outside on the patio. They have shades and misters, so it was pretty comfortable. Our server was friendly and offered her recommendations when we inquired. We started with the guac and pimento appetizer. It's a dollop of pimento and a dollop of guac in a bowl served with crostini and tortilla chips. All of us enjoyed the pimento by itself and with guac. The crostini were especially tasty. We'd definitely get this again. Three in our party ordered the tenders with various sides, and they were all happy with the quality and quantity of their meals. I ordered the caramelized cauliflower steak. It's a very large, filling serving. The dried cherry/almond crunch on top and the dill + Greek yogurt sauce make this dish. My partner got the simple Caesar with grilled salmon on top. He expected a small pice of salmon and ended up with a typical dinner-sized portion. He found the salmon a bit on the salty side, but otherwise good. Since servings were so large, we decided that we would all share one serving of warm butterscotch cake with vanilla gelato. Huge shout out to the folks at Doughbird. I hadn't been in since my doctor put me on keto and I couldn't get my favorite Copper Hat pizza. I went in today and, tired of another salad, server Melanie, manager Marlene, and a chef created me a crustless version of my favorite pizza! A "crust" of mozzarella with prosciutto, pistachios, figs, goat cheese and arugula. This was to die for. When I asked about carbs in the marinara, the server and chef figured out a range and it was a great dip. The picture doesnt do it justice, because i had cut up the crust by rolling it. I'm looking forward to having this again, and in further conversation, trying the wings with homemade blue cheese dressing. Keto peeps, these folks go above and beyond. Doughbird did not disappoint! We tried to come for dinner a few months ago but didn't have reservations and didn't want to wait so luckily, this time we made reservations. Wanted to have an early dinner and then get to the movies so we actually arrived 15 minutes prior to our 5pm reservation. Lucky for us because Doughbird's happy hour is from 2-5pm. Seated immediately and greeted warmly by our server, a friendly young man. We placed our order quickly in order to get the happy hour special on our food. Here is a rundown on the items we sampled: * Truffle Cheese Bread - so delicious! Just the right amount of cheese, sauce and truffle flavor. I could have eaten the whole serving! * Personal Pepperoni Pizza: my husband ate this and he enjoyed it but I didn't taste it.....not even the leftovers we heated up the next day. * Personal Margherita Pizza: my pizza was very tasty. Love, love, love the crispy, cheesy edges. Reheated the leftovers the next day and the pizza was even MORE flavorful * Wings: We did the dry rub and I was very impressed. I only wish the order was larger. Perfect amount of rub and cooked to perfection. * Lemon Meringue Pie with Blackberry Compote: that pie was a feast for our eyes! Huge stack of meringue that stood up stiff and straight and caramelized to perfection. The lemon was delicious. * Warm Butterscotch Cake with Vanilla Bean Gelato: Oh. Em. Gee. This dessert was so good and not overpoweringly sweet and sticky. I want that butterscotch sauce to take home and put on everything! So, so good. We each had a couple of cocktails from the bar, just our standard drinks and nothing from their special cocktail menu. The pizzas were big enough to share and with plenty of toppings. The Tuna Sashimi Salad was also a popular choice for several people. The serving staff is amazing! Went there for a staff appreciation with my team. We all enjoyed our food. I especially enjoy when I get cheese/dairy free pizza because I of my allergies and without any weird looks! The server was friendly and accommodating us while we waited for the rest of the group. Everyone else either tried different style pizza, salad or even the pot pie! We waited a long time to get our order taken. I had to go ask the hostess to get someone. Pizza was below average. I ordered 3 and only received 2. I didn't ask because I thought maybe it was taking a little longer but it never came so I said forget it we won't get it. Chicken strips were good. We were never given utensils. Our server only came out towards the end of our meal to ask if everything was ok. The outside patio area was nice due to the weather today but the chairs were horrible and uncomfortable. However the bbq chicken pizza sauce was quite sweet for bbq, would've preferred more tang versus the sweetness. The corn on the pizza was unusual as well. The Chilean salmon was very salty and the honey glaze was a bit too heavy and overpowering. The cocktails were overly sweet and somewhat bitter as well, even when asked to remove the simple syrup from the recipe. I went here for a friends birthday last week or the week before. My friend and her family really liked this restaurant, however it was my first time. The server I think was newer, but very personable, helpful and friendly. She helped me choose the Bolognese and I loved it! I also got the butterscotch cake, dessert and was very excited about this. I have a sweet tooth and love desserts...however, when I tried this, I did not taste butterscotch at all, but more of a burnt caramelized-like taste that was not pleasant. We then ordered the peanut butter brookie to try, though I'm not fond of peanut butter desserts. It was just as I expected, thick and rich. For those who enjoy a peanut butter dessert, they'll probably love this. Someone else at the table ordered the lemon meringue dessert and that one was OK but had, the blackberry seeds in the purée that get stuck in your teeth, which I'm not a fan of. Overall, I was really excited about the desserts here thinking the dessert menu looks so good but after trying all three, I would skip them. The actual food on the menu however looks really good and I did try some of the pizza from others at the table, which was delicious as well.
