The kunefeh sundae was my favorite thing on the menu, specifically with the baklava ice cream on top. The space itself is really tight, and the line doesn't have room to curve. Only 1-2 seating spaces and a barricaded loft space. It could be a 5 star late night dessert spot if the seating and crowding can be addressed. The staff has top tier customer service but the crowding and tightness during high traffic times makes it uncomfortable to visit. read more

I've been coming to this dessert place many times and have always brought my dogs inside with no issue. Today, out of nowhere, I was told that dogs aren't allowed inside even though I've literally eaten here with them before. I am in love with Filo! I ordered their crispy knafeh, baklava and the Sana'a sunrise. Everything was so good! The Sana'a complimented the baklava for sure. I'm not into sweets, but the baklava had a really good taste to it and wasn't overbearing with the honey. Pairing that with the Sana'a coffee was amazing. But the star of the show, for me, was the crispy knafeh. What can I say? I'm Asian, it's not too sweet. That's my highest compliment. On top of the yummies, the inside of the shop is beautiful. And the service was too notch. They didn't have the tea that I wanted ready. So the server was kind enough to make me an off-the-menu tea without charge. On the search for some dessert, and Filo Dessert caught my eye on Yelp. First off, it's different than most dessert places listed and the high rating didn't hurt. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by the owner. He asked if this was our first visit and I confirmed that it was. He went through the whole menu with us, explaining pretty much everything and strongly encouraged us to try all the ice cream flavors. We headed to the ice cream section and the worker was happily assisting us with each flavor try. He gave us his opinions on his favorites and the most popular ones, and I didn't feel rushed at all. We had a few favorites amongst the four of us, but we opted for two flavors - Desert Rose Strawberry & Lotus Biscoff. They were able to do the two flavors for one scoop at $6.95, and you get a free topping. We also shared the Knafeh Kishneh (crunchy) for $11.95. We put in our orders, paid at the register, and took our seats. They brought the desserts out to us when they were ready. I do believe this was my first experience with knafeh, but I have had other desserts made from shredded phyllo dough. The cheese layer gives it a slight savory contrast to the sweetness of the simple syrup, and it's topped with pistachios too. I'm a little embarrassed that I don't have more experience with knafeh after spending some time traveling through the Middle East. The ice cream does have a different texture, similar to Turkish ice cream because of its elasticity. I really enjoyed the flavors and textures, and wouldn't mind going back for more. There is limited seating on the main floor with additional seating available upstairs. There are restrooms located through the back door, you'll need the code to use them. The place was beautifully decorated, not busy at all, and perfectly located at the Chapman entrance just before the Circle. We ordered the Dubai latte and karak with saffron tea, both served in elegant glassware, which was a nice touch. For dessert, we tried the Basbousa, a homemade coconut cake, paired with Biscoff ice cream, and everything was absolutely perfect. The flavors were well-balanced, not overly sweet, and the coffee was served at just the right temperature (not scalding hot, thankfully). 10/10 no notes!! We randomly stumbled across this place after eating at the orange circle. Its a cute little shop towards the outer part of the circle. Looking for a sweet treat, my husband and I came across a TikTok recommendation of Filo and made our way out from the inland empire. Was definitely worth the drive! I came here with high hopes because I love supporting places from my culture, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I was in the area for a work meeting and brought a colleague with me, excited to share some Middle Eastern desserts. We arrived around 3 pm when it wasn't very busy and ordered right away. I had asked about the knafee in bread, but they no longer offer it, which was a letdown. Instead, we ordered two types of knafee (cheese and ashta), along with ice cream. The ice cream was tasty, but when I asked about portion sizes, the answer wasn't clear -- and the servings ended up being huge. While we waited for the knafee to bake, I mentioned to my colleague that she could take hers back to LA for her husband and reheat it in the microwave. The staff member didn't clarify anything at the time, but later, when she brought out the knafee, she told my colleague directly (right in front of me) that it shouldn't be microwaved and had to be eaten right away. It felt awkward and dismissive. As for the knafee itself -- I had some, and my husband did too. He grew up in Lebanon and has had some of the best knafee there, and I've enjoyed it with him on visits over the years. We both agreed this version was subpar, lacking the richness, freshness, and authentic texture we expected. To make matters worse, the value just wasn't there. For 3 knafee and 1 ice cream, the bill came to over $60, which felt very overpriced given the quality and experience. The space itself is small with limited seating inside, though it has a nice aesthetic overall. They've added a loft area upstairs for more seating, but it felt a little tight. Overall, the desserts were okay but nothing memorable, and the service left us disappointed. I really wanted to love this place and support it wholeheartedly, but between the lack of clarity, mixed communication, underwhelming knafee, high prices, and cramped seating, I don't see myself coming back. read more

I came by with my coworkers and the service is great and felt very welcomed. We were able to get some samples for the different flavors of ice creams that they had. I tried the biscoff, banana, and coffee. All flavors were very unique but my favorite was biscoff and banana I would recommend both of those flavors. We also met the owner, Mo.
