Fuji Steak House is one of the newest restaurants located on the second level of Redmond Town Center across from Matt's. It is a teppanaki grill plus sushi bar so it adds a little change to the scene. Brand new it is still getting its feet on the ground. Service is a little slow, but I think it is just because they haven't quite found their grove yet. That happens - it's new and takes time. They offer a full bar, but their staff is not overly familiar with all the different drinks. I would also imagine this will get ironed out as time goes on. The restaurant is sleek and modern looking with blue LED lighting underneath every surface. Large tables are set for the teppanaki experience while the sushi bar is rather quaint and small. If I had one complaint it was that the sushi counter was much higher then typical to the point that when the sushi chef placed rolls on the top of it I had to stretch on my tiptoes balancing from the stool's rungs to be able to reach it. I know I'm short, but never had that experience before. The food was very good. I had a shrimp tempura roll and a crunch roll. Both were very filling and delicious. Their drinks were equally good! Everyone was pleasant, laughing, and having a good time while keeping the restaurant going. read more

Good atmosphere! Reminded me of Benihanas back in the day. Our cook didn't do any special show moves besides the oil alcohol fire at the beginning. So that was basic. The food was good though! The mandatory 25% gratuity on the bill was meh. Especially with any special show, or service to pay extra for with the food already being $45+ per meal for 5 people. We know our cook was basic, because after he started, the guy behind him did the onion volcano, egg spinning, and cracked image drawing, and the tail flipping shrimp. We got a fire so big my mom (her birthday) screamed so long and loud that they heard her in the back, and thought it was a kid. Lol I still wish I'd gotten that on video. I could mix that scream into some horror movies. The flames went to the top of the hood, and burned for a solid 8 seconds. read more

Places like Fuji Steakhouse and Benihana are always the same: Overpriced for little food. Six of us had dinner to celebrate a birthday. We ordered filets, New York steak along with shrimp and scallops. We asked for one of the filets to be cooked medium; one medium-rare and one rare. They all came out medium. Additionally, the filets are small slabs of some sort of meat that hardly resembles a real filet. Since the chef sliced the steaks, they came out too well-done. For a $500 tab, this is unacceptable. Service is attentive. Drinks were good. We won't be going back to Fuji Steakhouse. read more

It was strange. This is why my stars are in the middle. It's in the heart of Redmond town center, top floor. So free plentiful parking, but it was hard to find using their maps. Place had a very clean and classy atmosphere from outside in, with outdoor and indoor seating and a sushi bar. We were asked about reservations, which we didn't have. But the staff was nice and we were seated within ten minutes for dinner. I usually do not go out with an easy group to serve. But the service was nice and my glasses stayed full the entire meal. I did not order the entree as I wanted sushi, but my husband did. The show was ok, props to the chef for not doing more fire once the toddler at the table got scared. Food was played well. What was weird to me qas that had a be good was awesome, a quarter of the food had no flavor (like tempura) and then one roll (the tempura fried salmon roll) was so bitter and tasted almost like gasoline or acetone that I almost spit the one piece I took a bite of out. That rarely happens to me with fine dining! So I guess the menu is hit or miss? Some of it is awesome and some of it is not. Pricing for sushi and entrees is a bit above average for the region. read more

The value of entertainment, conversation, and good ol' fashioned social interaction is hard to come by these days and Fuji more than delivers. We started with salty, and freshly prepared edamame. Then salad and soup as a refreshing start to the evening. If you are wanting a mixed drink, they have you covered there as well. I had the Sumo which had a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I highly recommend the fried rice option. It has excellent texture and flavor! The magnum opus was the filet & lobster! The steak literally melted in my mouth. The lobster was fresh and buttery, with the tenderness you'd expect from a well prepared tail. Clean, superb service, flavorful food, delightful beverage selection, and entertainment make this an excellent meal and memory. We look forward to our next visit! read more

This place is solid. I don't personally come for the show, the New York and shrimp lunch is a great price for the day. I go here with a coworker and it's actually a pretty quick lunch. The food is exactly what I expect every time and I've been here a few times so far. It's definitely not cheap, but it's seafood and steak! What do you expect really? We experienced a very poor first visit to Fuji Steak House. First, they failed to cook part of our order, and then refused to make it on the hibachi once we asked about it. They also forgot to bring out the steamed rice that was included with our meal, which was important for our son's dietary needs. They paid little attention to refilling beverages. When I spoke with the manager to provide feedback and coaching, he proceeded to blame the chef and then berate the server in front of us, so we defended her as no one deserves to be treated that way. If you respect yourself or others, don't go here! There are much better places with higher quality, greater value, and demonstrated appreciation for their staff that have a similar teppanyaki theme. read more

The food and service were great. My one complaint is that the chef was verbally inappropriate to my young daughters. They were visibly underage (under 9) and he called them both "baby girl" and "baby" and made suggestive moaning noises to them. Totally solid choice for "dinner and a show". I think most people understand what they're getting at this point, but it's standard tapenyaki. They grill the food in front of you, do some tricks, have some fun. My kids came for the first time and were so surprised by the fire! I added sashimi to our meal and it was excellent! Drinks were good and service was super fast and friendly. My only complaint is that they don't have a lunch menu so our lunch was pretty expensive. A fun experience none the less. read more

Pros (I'm really stretching): - We got served very quickly - although, our first red flag probably should have been the teaspoon served with the complimentary soup within minutes of seating us - A side of rice for our little was only $2, win! - The blue lights beneath the table/atmosphere seemed nice - Our daughter still enjoyed the show/fire - They were following COVID-19 protocols - They got our orders right Cons: - The water had a weird taste to it (I drink tap water and I'm not that bougie, but it tasted weirdly off to the degree that I didn't drink it for most of the meal) - Soup was bland - Salad dressing lacked flavor, and the salad didn't seem super fresh - The performance only included the "volcano" trick for the onion, not really anything else (no flipping of eggs, flinging of shrimp, etc.) - Literally everything that we ate was underseasoned (steak, chicken, shrimp, fried rice, veggies) - Yum yum sauce seemed oddly watered down - Entrees ranged from $31-55 Honestly, I don't think I would give this place a chance again - although some are saying the sushi happy hour is the thing to come here for (which seems counterintuitive)? Every time we arrive here it is amazing. We went from the occasional sushi and drinks to now celebrating all family birthdays, New Years and special occasions. I didn't realize a Teppanyaki place opened up in this spot at Redmond Town Center until today. Apparently, they've been open a few months now. The food was delicious! The restaurant was clean and spacious. (The place settings were spaced so we weren't on top of the other parties like in other teppanyaki restaurants.) The staff was friendly and attentive. Our chef, Miguel, was excellent! He was funny and kept us entertained while cooking our food perfectly. I wanted to do a better job with pictures, but I was distracted by the good food. It's not the cheapest place, but as with any good teppanyaki place, it's worth it for the amount of good food you get. (The meats and seafood come with soup, salad, rice, and a 2 shrimp appetizer included.) They also serve a large variety of sushi, but no one in our party ordered any, so I can't comment on it. We plan to come back for lunch sometime and try it out. Overall, I'd recommend this place to a friend. Try it out for yourself! read more

Ok - so before Covid I passed by this location a million times and always thought it was closed and we popped in one afternoon and it was open. Its a freakin hibachi grill in REDMOND. It took a bit to get seated and the chef came out and made it a really fun experience. The food was ON POINT. I cannot wait to head back over and enjoy another experience with them. I heard good things about their happy hour but never had the chance to try that so decided to come for dinner. The chef we got seemed a bit inexperienced, he dropped an egg and could not do the onion fire thing . He made the fried rice first and served everyone and took 15 mins for the rest of the food , by that time the rice was cold which made the whole meal worse. Fuji is a copycat style restaurant of Benihana (The Seattle location has closed). The menu is made of sushi, steak, chicken and fish. I would say the portion sizes are bigger then most other places with the same set up or we just got really lucky. Our Chef was very entertaining from start to finish and even played games with us! My husband and I both ordered the steak and chicken and both were cooked to our liking. Overall, we were very impressed and surprised it was not booked out for a Saturday night. read more
