The cook was rude and made comments that made our group feel severely uncomfortable.

We were here for my son's birthday dinner. The service was good, keeping the beverages topped off and making sure everything was going well. The chicken, steak and vegetables were great. The small things like both the fried rice and steamed rice seemed old, it was hard and crispy. The chef was having a difficult evening. He was doing his normal flipping of cooking utensils but he dropped two of the three eggs and got one of the ladies table side. We had told the servers and the chef that we had a person in our group that has seafood allergies and all acknowledged the allergy. We were told that they would just cook the steak first and then cook the remaining orders. That was not the case, the chef went ahead and started cooking the seafood first and I reminded him, he had to order another filet and have it cooked in back. He also forgot to bring out a filet order and my chicken order, so they did not get cooked until everything else had been served. It made for an extended dinner opportunity for to talk to our table mates. I do realize that being a chef at a teppanyaki restaurant has to be tough and very demanding but I know he gave it his best shot. It seems like this place could have potential but they really need to pay attention to special requests specially when it comes to food allergies. That would have been an ambulance ride to the ER if we were not paying attention to how the food was being prepared. read more

This is the newest restaurant in Town square. Well first of the gal working the front desk is so rude. We walked in and she asked for my name. I figured they would put us on a list to get in. Well the place was empty so I was confused. It was a Saturday night at 6:30. She told us the soonest she could get us in would be 7:30. Well the 4 of us waited and walked the mall. Came back to complete attitude at 7:15 and she said she could seat us but we will not be served until 7:30. Again the only table that night... WHAT???? waitress was nice. Now for the cook... SO BOARING.. for the price of the 4 of us 250.00 for a few small pieces of Filet Migon and Scallops NO NOT WORTH THE COST! and the portions are tiny. Very boring performance. I am not a fan. This steakhouse is the best thing to hit Redmond Town Center Mall. Besides The Original House of Pancakes, after you get breakfast at OPH, make sure you get dinner here at Fuji Steakhouse! We stopped in on a Saturday right at lunch time and the place was empty. I was shocked bc it's a beautiful restaurant and the food and service were terrific. Service was great. If our server was not available, other staff members were quick to refill drinks and take clutter from the table. Our food was delicious. The lunch menu is reasonably priced making the check for a large group reasonable. The dinner menu looks really good but the prices go up considerably ...$40 for a filet. Our lunches came with soup, veggie stir fry mix, cabbage and bean sprout stir fry, fried rice and our choices of meat. There also is a kid's menu! Our meat and fish were so fresh and cooked to perfection. I ordered sushi. I got the tiger eye roll. Delicious! Came out hot and fresh with a tasty sauce. (It was tempura so don't panic!) The restaurant is in the Redmond Mall on the top floor. There is no super close parking. Lots of cute stores to walk by on your way! The hibachi chef was fun and great with the kids. My friends and I made a big plan to try out this new steak house. I went through this Yelp page and their website a day before to check if I need to make a reservation. Literally, NONE of them indicated we need to reserve before coming in. Only until we walked into the restaurant, we were told that we have to make a reservation or wait for 1.5hr to dine due to the capacity and current reservations while half of the restaurant was empty. We drove all the way from Seattle and were VERY disappointed when we were told this. At least, a good business should have the basic information available to its customers. Came here for my birthday yesterday without any expectations and it was just wonderful. My parents are notoriously hard to please and they were really wowed. Friendly staff, fun presentation, wonderful food. Verrry reasonably priced, considering all you're getting (especially true at lunch time). The beef and onion broth and vegetables were delicious, the steak, shrimp, and chicken prepared perfectly. I am visiting Washington for a trip and this place caught our eye. The service and food was amazing, but the portions of fried rice were quite small, especially for add-on price of $5 on top of the $32 meal. I got the shrimp and steak. We had bad scallops, that were so fishy, my chicken was barely done, the cook was boring, could barely hear him, his food tasted nasty, meaning no flavor, The teriyaki they used on the food was completely watered down...Their was no salt coming out of his salt shaker!!! The service for drinks was the only good thing...Their ginger sauce they use to give now is water down teriyaki sauce, no ginger in the sauce!! They are trying to cut corners on all levels! This place is a REAL HIDDEN GEM! The decor is tastefully austere, as you would expect of a well-kept Japanese home. The bathrooms are beautiful and very clean! The location in Redmond Town Center is very accessible, and close to major freeway and surface streets, with plenty of parking. The staff were friendly, and eager to please, and our chef/artist was fun, entertaining and skilled at his craft. The food was FANTASTIC! The salads were fresh and nicely prepared, the fried rice was the best I've had in the States! The Steak and Lobster were excellent, I'd never had Lobster cooked that way, it was great! Japanese steak house expert here! No really, I've eaten at several hibachi steakhouses from NY to CA. During a bike ride with the Mrs to the Redmond town center we discovered the Fuji Steak House upstairs in the south side of the center. We decided to make a reservation for the entire family at a later date. Well, that date came along and we entered the establishment with our guard up. The hostess was nice and seated us at our own grill. The server was very pleasant and was very quick with serving drinks and taking orders. The chef was humorous and skilled with the blade. The dipping sauces where ok, if they were Benihana style then this place would have gotten 5stars. This place totally blew me away on Saturday night. Amazing amazing food and a fantastic experience. I got New York steak Japanese style, and my lady got shrimp and scallops. Both were phenomenal. We went there on Tuesday at 3:45 PM and with huge attitude they ask us if we had a reservation. Huge attitude. Of course we can see the notebook with no names on it and got grilled about not having a reservation. We ordered tempura and it came with mo daikon, we had to ask for it, waiter had no clue what it was. I stopped by and said that you should make sure to serve daikon with tempura, the owner said "thats the way we do it here" I returned that using Fuji in you name should stand for Japanese standards. He said "Go sit down". When we left I again tried to engage this person and I said that the Japanese community is a small one and before I could say any more the said"I am the owner and do not give a fuck about the japanese community, get the fuck out of my business" BEWARE anyone trying to eat here, if they do not care about Japanese traditions then this guys cares about nothing in his own Japanese restaurant. I can not believe how much we paid for how little value we received. The food was substandard for hibachi, but it was unnecessarily expensive for hibachi. Veggies were pitiful and everything was an upcharge. Adding cucumber to a sushi roll was an extra $2. Switching from steamed to fried rice was $5 per person. And of course none of these charges were disclosed until the bill came. I am still trying to get over the shock of our bill being over $100 with no drinks... And no noodles?!? read more

Where do I start... the weird atmosphere soon as you enter the place, the place was empty during peak dinner time. We hesitated to leave but nice greeting welcomed us so we decided to give it a try. I feel offended to call it a "Japanese" restaurant. When I order Tempura, I expect to have some Daikon-oroshi (radish condiment) with souse. When my husband asked for it to the manager, he told him "I am the owner and do not give a fuck about the Japanese, get the fuck out of my business"" We will never go back.... Very poor customer service, not willing to listen to our opinion. So sad for them to call it a Japanese Restaurant, and use the word "Fuji" which is so special to us. read more

Just an fyi that they stop serving well before their closing time so recommend you plan accordingly. We've been there multiple times but we were unaware of their policy. The night started out strong, we were sat and drink orders taken. We walked in about 5:30 pm. As the night progressed the service went directly in the crapper. The service became slow and lacking. By the end of the night I had to go and get my own to go containers, along with me walking up front asking to speak to a manager to get the checks for our party of 6 people. Had mother's day dinner at Fuji steakhouse last night and were excited to try this new addition to Redmond Town Center! Of course we compare to the popular Teppenyaki place that used to be in Seattle and it's very similar. Our reservation was right at 4:30 when they opened for dinner and we were seated promptly. A little pricey for the kids menu, but my daughter was given a large amount of food, would prefer to have a smaller option for the kids. Would also be great to see an explanation of what's included for the kids menu. We assumed it had soup, salad, rice and main course, but the salad wasn't included. Also, we loved at Benihana's when the kids got ice cream at the end, that was always a fun treat! I would say overall it was fun, but it felt a bit rushed. I remember the dinner at other places, being more of an experience, slow courses, etc....this was very brief, soup before the cook arrived, salad during his show...he skipped the shrimp appetizer (?) and then meat was ready, vegetables came after meat. Overall I would like to have the courses a little more drawn out. One of the people at our table ordered sushi, they were late bringing his sushi, but once it got there it looked delicious and fresh. Overall we will be back, and hope they have some sort of Happy Hour option so I can meet friends after work in the bar. read more

Japanese steakhouse with sushi/sashimi options. They have a nice decor, and your personal chef cooks your food teppanyaki style on an iron griddle located at the center of the table that wraps around it. The place was surprisingly empty for lunch time at the town center. The chef put up a nice show with some acrobatics involving food, utensils, and, of course, fire. Food was ok but not outstanding for the price, which was on the high side. I also found it strange that he prepared and served rice, veggies and the proteins sequentially, rather than time them to come out together. This way there was at least a good 10 minutes between the first and last components of the dish. But maybe this is how this style of Japanese steakhouse food prep is done. I don't have a basis to compare as this was my first teppanyaki experience. read more
