I love Chicago deep dish and have eaten at their restaurants in Chicago. I would give them 5 stars on food and 1 star on service....hence my generous 3 star rating. We arrived at 10:50 to a Line, which was expected. Our party of 7 did get seated on the patio by 11:10am. The patio is too long and narrow to be serving food. It's very tight. We ordered a large Chicago stuffed deep dish, a small thin pizza, garlic fries, cheese garlic bread, and an italian sub with a Caesar salad on the side. Long story short, the pizza took 30 minutes longer to get than our quoted hour. We didn't get the sandwich or salad and had to flag down our server-after the pizza was gone to advise her....no apology only an excuse that it comes from a different station. 20 minutes later with no apology the missing food came. No offer to comp the sandwich either. No water refills were given once the pizza arrived. The pizza takes 45 minutes to cook yet the table next to us was told Chicago deep dish takes an hour and 30 minutes to cook. Obvious to me there was a kitchen back-up but you don't misquote cooking times because of a crowd. Delicious pizza and apps but the service left much to be desired. I visited this restaurant with my family after hearing great things from coworkers. The wait was long but we were excited to try their deep dish pizza. When we first got seated, the waiter asked for our main orders first rather than drinks or appetizers. I guess the deep dish pizzas take a while to make so those orders have to go in first. It was really unorganized and felt rushed. Waiter wasn't too friendly. When our food finally arrived, the deep dish pizza was delicious. I think we ordered a 12 inch for two people and it was a lot of pizza so we could have ordered less. Overall, I would try again but at a later time. read more

Could NOT get my order right even though I have severe food allergies. I needed the salad without dressing because I didn't know what was in it. Tried to get a different dressing and they kept giving me the same one. Will never go here again, not being careful when it comes to that could have resulted in weeks of hospitalization. Omg as good as in Chicago!!! Plus we were staying in a hotel & had the delicious pizza delivered. They brought us sturdy paper plates, forks & knives & even a spatula that can cut! We didn't even have to ask for any of it! We were soooo happy. We didn't even think to ask! Thank u sooo much! We drove from Cincy to Columbus & stayed the night just for Giordano's pizza. We ordered the deep dish spinach pizza- having loved it at the Chicago locations. There was no comparison to the real thing. The crust was soggy and there was precious little spinach in the dish. Not much cheese either. And even though they said it would take 30 to 40 minutes- it was 59 minutes before we got the pizza. I eat pizza every chance I get and everywhere I go and this is some of the best pizza I have ever had. We have also ordered it shipped to my home and while it is still delicious, baking it in a residential oven from a frozen state doesn't provide the same results. My fiancé and I had heard so much about it we decided to try it. We had our 4 yrs. old nephew with us and order appetizers since it takes time to make pizza. Our server seemed very nervous and was that way with the table behind us that arrived after us. Later our server says it should only be about 8 more minutes. However we notice 3 tables who came in after us , all with no less than 4 people got served their pizzas. A few minutes later the server comes and apologizes and says he never put in our order. So for 45 minutes our server had checked on us several times but never put our order in. The manager apologized and paid for our appetizers. He took my name and number to put in their system and state it was good for $30.00 the next time we come. Won't be coming back there anytime soon, if at all. read more

This is the best pizza you can get in Westerville! It's so cheesy and delicious! I've had it in other locations and it's consistent with what you would expect from other Giordano's. They also have delicious side salads! They can get busy and backed up with orders, so plan accordingly! read more

If there was a way to give negative stars I would. I have never experienced worse service in my life. I was quoted 75-95 minutes for the pizza to be ready. After 2 and a half hours and constant reassurances that "it's almost ready" the manager tells me the order was lost! Do not go here, everyone in line was complaining on the awful service. Wow. This place DID NOT live up to its hype. My fiancé and I came in at about 8 and it took 2 hours for the whole "experience" our waitress was extremely slow and inattentive, and thank god for the appetizer or we would have probably eaten each other. That sounds bad, that's not what I meant... anywayssss on to the food. It was alright. We got the Chicago style pizza with onions and green peppers, the crust was interesting, almost like a biscuit. It was pretty bland, and the sauce definitely has given me a strange after taste. The Parmesan Garlic fries were pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I wanted to give this a one but my fiancé said that I was being vindictive. As someone who was a server, I totally understand being less than the best when it's busy and you have a million things going on. But for most of our visit we were one of three tables this waitress had. She kept disappearing for 15 minutes or more at a time and the other waiter probably thought I was longing after him because I kept making eye contact hoping he'd offer to refill my drink even though it wasn't our section. Not ready for opening three months in. Terrible customer service. Went to pick up a pizza that was SUPPOSED TO BE ready at 6:45, waited in a long line for pickup (the pickup area was not marked at all). Was told that they dropped one of the pizzas I was picking up, wasn't given an apology was simply told it would be another 30 minutes. I was offered a water by the other pick up lady who was much kinder....but seriously a WATER. So I wait and wait and finally the same snobby man who failed to apologize early gave me my pizzas AGAIN without an apology. I completely understand that mistakes happen, however a discount would have been appreciated or EVEN a simple apology. Not sure if I was treated with this disrespect because I am a younger customer or what it was but I sincerely hope they clean up their act! read more

They seriously need to get it together at this place. We got there at 6:15 and didn't leave until 9 and that was with boxes because we were too tired to eat. Our waiter was very friendly and he did a great job but they seriously need to figure out something else or they're going to lose a ton of business. Our waiter told us that the reason why it was taking so long was because they had so many carryout orders. If they cannot accommodate their dine in orders then they should not have carryout. Three hours later we have a pizza and yes it is tasty but not worth the wait. My other issue is the fact that it also took almost three hours for my child's pizza to arrive. A kids pizza should not take 3 hours and children should always get their food quickly or they need to change the kids menu. My husband and I took our pizza loving 6 year old to this new location cause we were so excited to have it in Ohio! We went expecting a long wait so that was not a surprise but we were surprised that we had to track down our server more than once for silverware/plates our daughter's applesauce and also for our check only to find that we were overcharged but too exhausted from the bad service to even argue! Ok the pizza is amazing. That's it. Nothing else deserves any praise. We went on a holiday weekend and waited 10 min to be seated. Then after we'd been seated AND served drinks, we're then told it's an hour wait for deep dish pizza. Um, why couldn't you tell us that before we were seated?! We would have gone elsewhere... but now we have sodas so this is awkward.... We decided to stay and get the deep dish pizza. We're not from here and we wouldn't have another chance to try it so what's an extra hour? Right! Well.... 80 mintutes after ordering, we see our waitress for the first time since ordering. And she says it'll be about 20minutes longer!! So we waited over just shy of 2 hours for one pizza. I also got the chicken florintine and asked for it to be served with my family's pizza. It was. But it was also evident that it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a very long time. The chicken was tough and the noodles eh. Not worth the wait or the price! Anyways, the deep dish pizza was wonderful. But thats it. During our extended visit we visited the restrooms 3 times (we have a lot of little kids) My kids SCREAMED bloody murder because the water only has one temperature: boiling. It was sooooo hot!!! Even to me. And it just gets hotter the longer it runs! I said something to the greeter and he shrudded it off like it was nothing. Anyways. We won't be back. Ordered a pizza over the phone to be picked up at 12:45. It wasn't ready til 1:10. This isn't a complaint it's Giordanos. It was Father's Day. The place isn't even open yet and it's insanely busy. The amount of people I listened to complain to a manager about their pizza taking 50 minutes blew my mind. Have you been to giordanos before? When they tell you 50 minutes it's going to be an hour plus. That's how it is. If you want a 20 min pizza go somewhere else. The staff handled all the complaints gracefully no matter how absurd they were. The pizzas were coming out faster then any location I've ever been to in Chicago. Stop complaining or go elsewhere. Sad to say, but Giordano's Columbus has still not figured out peak periods like Saturday evenings. Ordered on line around 2 pm for 7 pm pickup. Arrived 10 minutes early and spent the next 30 minutes standing alongside multiple customers waiting on takeout; watched the young ladies doing an admirable job trying to handle the crush; the manager working to calm folks down; etc. I'd say, "gee, bad night"; but I've been through 4 or 5 other Saturday nights that were identical. Almost a 2 hour wait time for the pizza to be made, and then the pizza came out weirdly watery. Not really inspired to return.

Don't know how the pizza tastes since we didn't get one. Our son placed an on line order at 515pm Sunday, he was told pick window was between 645 and 705pm. We arrived at the restaurant at 635. First there is no real line for carry out its more who is standing in the right place gets helped. We were told at 655 that our order was not ready. So we waited and waited. about 725 my son was informed that there was a problem. They ran out of pepperoni and if we wanted they would make a different pizza or refund my sons money. He took the refund since we didn't have an another hour to wait. Don't know why it took close to an hour to inform us of the problem since they had my sons phone number and email they could have told him about the problem before we wasted an hour. I gave it 2 stars because my son said that the pizza he had in Orlando was great. Personally I won't return to find out. read more

This was a fun and unique to the area experience. We had the deep dish style pizzas. We ordered one from the lunch menu (heat and serve) and we were told it would take much less time than the 30 to 45 minutes it takes for the made to order deep dish pizza. We ordered 1 from the lunch menu and one from the made to order. The made to order came out in 45 or so minutes as expected, but the heat and serve lunch menu pizza took an additional 15 minutes... we had to ask 3 different times about it and our waitress told us she would check on it right away. However, she never left the room but took orders, checked on tables etc, so she never actually checked on it... Someone else ended up getting it for us. By the time we got my son's pizza, the rest of the table was finished and ready to leave. She came over later and saw the pizza and said "oh sorry about that." We know it is a new restaurant and they are still getting bugs worked out, but be genuine. We will be back, but probably not until the newness wears off. read more

Giordanos is my favorite deep dish pizza! I lived in Chicago for a while and would frequently eat giordanos. It truly is the best Chicago style pizza. I was so excited to learn they opened a place in Columbus where my family lives so I could have a slice when I was home to visit. WOW... the service was non existent. First, the host was very friendly and told us it would be an hour, which is understandable... he also said we could pre order our pizza so it was ready quickly after we sat down. This sounded great! We put our pick up order in 40 mins before the time we were to be seated, we were seated within the window we were given... and the slip the host gave me said the pizza would be ready in about 15 mins.. which sounded like everything was timed great! Unfortunately, we sat waiting for our waitress (Laura) to arrive for awhile... she finally made it over to us and I let her know we put the order in with the host. She filled up our drinks and then disappeared.. after we were wayyyy past the time the slip said our food would be ready, I stopped her and asked what could be the hold up. She said she would check and came back to say it was coming out of the oven. Great... it was late but it's whatever. 30 mins after that conversation is how long it took to get that pizza. The total time spent.... 3 hours. Things go better when you're honest with your tables.. if something got messed up, we would understand.. but to act like everything was fine and then ignore us isn't the way to do it. I have been looking forward to trying Giordano's in Columbus, as I have been several times in Chicago. I called ahead to make sure there was not a wait, and when there was not, we went at about 730 on a Tuesday. We waited about 10 minutes for a waitress, and when she came over, she vented for about 15 minutes about how busy it was and how much she just wanted to go home. We ordered right away knowing the timing delay, but also ordered salad to hold us over. She told us they were out of Caesar and their vinaigrette so we just settled for balsamic on both of our salads. After 45 minutes, I asked where our salads were as this was the only reason we ordered these. Once they finally came out, they were really good. The pizza came out shortly after and was also pretty good (but they also were out of ranch so it could have been better). One thing I would also say that annoyed me a little was the way our waitress handled our drink orders. She gave me a bigger beer than ordered for the cheaper price to say "sorry" for the delay. However, she also did that with the person I was with, but he ordered 2 larger (& more expensive) beers and she charged him less than me who only ordered one, less expensive beer. Overall, I think the food was a 4/5 (and only because they were missing so many dressings/options) but the service was a 1/5. I would maybe return, but I would get carry out. read more
