Makes 3 meals, great portion sizes!

Decided to order in tonight for the Mavs game. I went with the trio Hibachi(NY strip steak, shimp, chicken). Meal also included rice, veggies, miso soup and salad. Good portion size that will usually last me 2 meals. A lot of complaints of being expensive, but this was $33 and lasts 2 meals. I consider that a slam dunk! Hanaya always comes in clutch! Go Mavs! Update, actually 3 meals! Game Winner!

    Ready for hibachi.

Tasty japanese food and great service at the hibachi table. I ordered ribey with fried rice, and it was cooked to perfection. The cook was skillful and very friendly, so it was entertaining to follow the show. Sunday early afyernoon was peaceful - the place was almost empty - but there is plenty of room for serving various parties either in hibachi room or other side. Decent prices for such a high quality menus and special experience. I would definitely come back.

I've always loved hibachi restaurants because I enjoy the way they cook and entertain people with their playful cooking style. I've visited a few different places in the area, but this was my first time coming here. The food was okay, but Chef Kevan was really nice and took great care of me. The place itself has a cool vibe

We chose Hanaya for our Christmas Eve dinner reservations. We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and Christmas Eve seemed like the perfect celebration to do so. Unfortunately, we were very underwhelmed. Our waitress was the highlight of our experience. She was very attentive and on point. She gets five stars. Our hibachi chef was good as well - very entertaining presentation with a couple new tricks we haven't seen before. However, the food was average at best. We only had hibachi, so maybe the sushi is better? I had the hibachi tofu, and it was simply not good. I realize tofu is probably not an entrée that many people choose, but it was extremely gritty and difficult to eat. My husband said his shrimp and chicken were okay. Behind the festive Christmas lights, and the restaurant itself seemed to need some interior refreshing. I also have mixed feelings on the large screen TVs that are over the hibachi tables. While it was nice to keep an eye on the Cowboys game, most folks don't choose a hibachi restaurant as their football watching destination. The whole experience felt rushed. I understand that it was Christmas Eve and perhaps on a different evening we would have not felt like our dining experience was a race to the finish, but that is unacceptable at this price point. We were not offered a dessert menu or coffee, and I found myself gulping down what was remaining of the single class of wine I had as the staff was prepping the table for the next party.

Great service and even better food! I got the filet minon & shrimp combo and was delish. Really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back again.

2 out of the last 3 years our service has been absolutely horrible. What kind of restaurant would take reservations a month in advance and have the chaos that iv witnessed year after year is beyond me. A 630 reservation pushed to 6:40 and then were given the option to sit dine in instead with our party of 8. Again scheduled a month in advance. And the second year in a row, all I can say is get it get it together and plan your reservations better. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that restaurants will be busier and people will eat for longer over the holidays. For the price we will not ever be back. Stick to Asahi

came with my wife and loved every bit. must try scallops if you like seafood!! bring the kids

Located in the Lakeside plaza, this Japanese restaurant is in perfect walking distance for those living the apartments and homes in the area. We came on a Wednesday evening and the place was already filling up! I assume everyone was hopping on their happy hour. They offer a great deal on $5.50 rolls (or 2 rolls for $10) and $5 appetizers. Happy Hour is available from 4:30pm-7pm Monday through Thursday (Dine-in only). We started off with the Heart of Hanaya which has salmon belly, tuna, octopus, squid, yellowtail, sweet shrimp and roe. It was very fresh and the presentation is impressive and great for the 'gram. I recommend this for a bigger group since it has a little bit of everything for people to try. Next we had the hibachi steak and lobster (we didn't sit in the hibachi section since we wanted our own table). The lobster was Brazilian and not your usual Maine lobster, which was a nice change as it gave a tender texture packed with flavor. It's served with lemon and butter for your liking but I feel like it stands perfectly on its own. The steak was great quality as well, a tender cut with a slight chew. We then shared the seafood ramen which had shrimp, scallop, naruto in a hearty broth. The noodles are more al dente and has that chewy "QQ" texture that I love. The broth is flavorful enough to coat the noodles and leans more authentic Japanese as they typically don't drink the broth, but it's great on its own and not too salty. It has a light ginger flavor to it which cuts through the pork broth and pairs well with the seafood. I usually prefer lighter broths since I can't handle that much salt but I thought it was just enough to enhance the flavors of the ramen instead of masking it. If you're craving hibachi, ramen or sushi, this is your place to go. It's great for groups or a cute sushi date. It has a little bit of everything - Asian fusion for the win - so everyone can be satisfied. I am looking forward to coming back to try their Happy Hour!

Great lunch on Sunday. It was super busy bc of Mother's Day on the hibachi side. Withdrawal highly recommended reservations. We had sushi. The crab rangoons were yummy. Sushi options were plentiful. I liked their riceless food but was able to substitute the cucumber wrapper for the soybean wrap. All great food and service.

I called ahead of time to ask…read moreif they had anything I could have, I assumed I would just be eating meat with steamed rice but was pleasantly surprised to learn they have gluten free soy sauce and were able to make the fried rice with the lunch hibachi special. I ordered it with the chicken and just requested that they didn't do the teriyaki (since it was not gluten free) and just had them cook it normally and it was delicious. I will say that the soup and salad that you get at the beginning of the meal required some modifications. No dressing on the salad (it contained gluten) along with the soup being changed to just broth because the miso came with noodles in it. Overall the staff was so kind and patient with my questions and needs.

Just after 1. We had the pleasure of being to only ones seated at the grill, so got a private cooking. We ordered off the lunch menu. I got the NY Strip and Shrimp, my wife got the Teriyaki chicken. Both upgraded to fried rice. The cook was friendly and cooked the food to our liking. We also got the tempura shrimp and veggies appetizer, along with a caterpillar roll. LOTS of food for the two of us. Price is reasonable and staff were all friendly. We will happily return!

I was sat quickly at the bar, and then seemed to be forgotten about. I did wait a while before a man came to me to take my drink order, and then things progressed quickly. Though everyone who ended up being sat after me were immediately taken care of. I ordered the sushi and sashimi bento box. I sat at the sushi bar so I was able to watch how things were prepared. Everything comes out quickly, as all of the proteins are pre sliced and ready to go. They were busy and the turn around is quick. They also do a lot of to go orders, and those were stacked up by the front door. I thought the quality of the fish was good for the price. I really liked the ginger dressing that comes on the salad, though it is a wild color. The gyoza just tasted like frozen dumplings you can buy at the store, and then deep fried. But they were good. The rice was cooked properly, and not mushy at all. The only thing I didn't care for was the California roll. It was super goopy and just tasted like mayo. I had to leave that alone. The atmosphere is very noisy and if you are sitting at the sushi bar, you hear the constant beeping of their order machine. I may try them again for dinner if it is a bit quieter, or takout seems like a good option, though there is no online ordering on their website.
