they have a very solid bún chà, especially considering it can be somewhat hard to find in the city. The service was good too, and the atmosphere when sitting outside on a nice day was amazing. There is better Vietnamese food in the city, but it's still worth trying if you're craving authentic Vietnamese food.

Very cute! Happy hour on Sat and Sun from 4-530pm Fast service! Var fits about 4 people total. Little tight space. the food smells delicious!

I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening with a friend. This place was pretty busy so definitely make a reservation! Ambiance was good! Service was great. The food was not bad! It was a chilly day so we both got the standard pho. Flavors were decent! Would consider coming back here in the future.

I enjoyed the bone marrow and the sauteed clams appetizers! However, the entrees including the house special pho and the bun cha/rice vermicelli was just okay. It's a bit dark in there and crammed in terms of sittings but cool to check out a popular Vietnamese spot!

On a cold winter day, Hanoi house presented itself to us. This was the most perfect pho I've had in my life. Perfect temp, soft meat, perfect portion. I felt like fucking Goldilocks hitting the jackpot. The ambiance is cozy and cute and 3 months later I am still thinking about this pho..

Came by for dinner over the summer and it was easy to grab a table despite it being fairly busy on the weekend; maybe we just got lucky. The food was all solid! I'm a little picky about my vietnamese food and thought this was a solid choice for us. The sandwich was yummy, but the spring rolls were probably my favorite bite. The herbs were pretty fresh and it was a fresh, crisp fry on it. The greens were a great add on, especially to get some veggies in there. Shrimp chips are solid though I don't know if I would get them again just cause I know how little they cost to make having grown up eating it. The service was attentive and we sat outside but the inside was dim and had a nice vibe. It's lively, and it sits on a lively part of the heart of the East Village, so expect that. Check it out if you're wanting Vietnamese and in the area!

As far as vietnamese restaurants go, this is a pass. No standout dishes. Even the standard dishes were poorly executed / bland / lacked seasoning and flavor. The best thing is probably the bone marrow since at least it's hard to mess that up. Service was at least quite good. Ambiance was small but nice.

Food: I was excited to try this place after seeing photos on Yelp, but I was underwhelmed after actually trying the food. The pho broth wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. I chose the brisket, oxtail, and bone marrow and each one was just okay. The oxtail was shredded and overcooked. Overall, the pho wasn't enjoyable and I won't be returning here. We also tried the pig ear and spring roll appetizers which were equally underwhelming. Service: Service was average. It was hard to get someone's attention at times if we needed something. They also don't come check on you throughout the meal. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size and has two sides with outdoor seating also. Good for both small and large groups. Space is tight and tables are pretty close to each other. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant. There is better pho in NYC for a better price.

General manager, nicole who was also our host was so so amazing! We sat outside for the first week of summer(she let us sit at our table for four hours and didn't bother/pressure us RARE to find in nyc). Nicole took such good care of us so did Logan. Pleasantly surprised by this food. Drinks were amazing happy hour prices were great. Favorite place to sit out on Saint Marks. 10 out of 10 vibes.

Everything in here tastes delicious. The worst part of dining here was the lack of AC, which I'm sure they couldn't help with. Summer roll with pork sausage was delicious. The wings were enormous which wasn't a good thing. The meatball vermicelli was good. Nothing to write home about. The clams underwhelming The pig eat salad was one of the best things The spring roll was crispy and delicious The house pho with that bone marrow was amazing. Our server was really cool and patient with us.

i have definitely found my new go-to spot for pho! it gets busy so i def recommend a reservation or be prepared to wait. the staff was super kind and service was quick once seated. we started with the shrimp salad which was more of a slaw, but it had great texture. for mains, the chicken pho hit the spot. the broth is light and flavorful and the noodles were bouncy and thin. perfect for a rainy winter day. i'll definitely come back and try more items, or just to get my chicken pho fix :)

Had tried the banh mi classic and pho. The food was pretty disappointing. Had been wanting to try here for a while. The banh mi didn't feel like it had any pate or mayo. It was as so dry. If this banh mi didn't come with a side broth, it would've been as dry as a subway sandwich without mayo. The pho broth was great but the meat was crazy overcooked. My meat was not asked to be cooked extra, just ordered everything as was. The meat was so overcooked when it came out it was basically bending/folding over into a C-figure already from how overcooked it was. The meat was so hard to chew and had very little flavor in my opinion. It was the same for the banh mi, the same type of beef brisket it seems. Someone in my party ordered a margarita. Came in a wine glass half full. That's like 2-3oz of a drink for 16$. They said the drinks used to come out in actual glasses filled to a respectable amount. Service was fine, they were nice and attentive. Place was a little aged but it's new york, nothing out of the ordinary and wouldn't give any stars off for either.

Very vibey and good service. Dark and intimate space. The papaya and pig ear salad was by far the best thing we ate. I highly recommend going for that and maybe drinks. The pho was nice - the bone marrow is a fun touch. The shaking beef was not good.

What is the parking like near the restaurant?

No one in her or his right mind would try to park in the East Village (uninformed opinion of a non-driver).

Do we need to reserve a table for dine-in?

No dine in when I was there 2 months ago, I believe dine-in is prohibited now (1/9/2021). If they take reservations for outdoor dining, best to get one.

What animal bone marrow is used for the broth? Is it possible to get pho here without pork?

I believe the bone marrow is from cow. The broth could be pork-free if they don't use pork bones and only beef bones. I would ask them.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
