A slight taste of tangy flavor and a little kick. The kimchi is nice and not too spicy. We also got the cold noodles and it's is so refreshing especially on a hot day. The noodles have a nice texture of firm and soft. The toppings are nice too and each of them don't overpower the overall flavor of the broth. They also have a self serve system with getting utensils , plating and side condiments. The broth they have is really nice with a peppery taste that is both comforting and satisfying. Upon entering, you order and pay at the counter first. While the restaurant advertises that TIPPING is OPTIONAL, you still face a bit of a GUILT TRIP when the payment screen prompts you for gratuity at checkout. Once you grab your buzzer, you head over to a self-serve station to get your own water, utensils, and condiments. I ordered the GALBI AND NAENGMYUN COMBO and waited about 15 to 20 minutes. right after I placed my order, I heard them telling the next guests in line that they were completely out of galbi. Unfortunately, when my food arrived, the meat portion was pretty DISAPPOINTING. It was easily the thinnest-sliced Galbi I have ever paid for, which felt like a letdown for the price. I stopped by Hanta Naengmyun and ordered the bulgogi combo with the mool naengmyun. Overall, I thought it was a solid meal, especially for the price. The naengmyun noodles were firm with a good chew, although I personally prefer them to be just a little bouncier. The bulgogi was well seasoned and paired nicely with the cold noodles. One thing that really stood out was the yooksu broth. It has a slight spicy kick that makes it different from most places, and they offer unlimited refills, which I definitely took advantage of. The ordering process is more like a food court than a traditional restaurant. You order and pay at the register, get a beeper, and pick up your food when it's ready. It's all self-serve, and despite the payment screen showing a tip option, you can simply select $0 since the restaurant advertises that tipping isn't expected. I actually enjoy this setup because it's quick, straightforward, and you don't have to wait for servers. The only downsides were that it was a little warm inside, and I would have appreciated the AC being turned up a bit. The parking lot is also pretty cramped, so I can see it becoming difficult during peak lunch and dinner hours. Overall, it's hard to complain at this price point. This is a self service restaurant with all the condiments and utensils at the front. Lunch time is very busy. There was a bit of a wait. We had to sign in on a clipboard and wait until someone called us. There was not a lot of space to wait so it was pretty crowded by the door. (There were a few chairs along the wall on the inside.) Once we got a table and sat down, we were able to go to the front and order our food, but because they were busy, we had to wait for someone to get to the register to take our order. The bibim nengmyun was great! No complaints. We also ordered the galbi tang, which tasted clean and fresh. The oxtail soup tasted just like the galbi tang but with a different type of meat. This is a fast casual/ self serve restaurant with tipping not necessary. This restaurant specializes in naengmyun which is Korean cold noodles. Typically cold noodles are made with either potato or buckwheat. Buckwheat noodles are usually more expensive. Most cheap naengmyun restaurants only offer potato noodles because it's cheaper. The fact that this place offers naengmyun with buckwheat, makes this place the cheapest buckwheat naengmyun in Los Angeles. I'm on a mission to find the best naengmyeon in LA and just stumbled across this place yesterday. Let's dive in. Pros/Cons/Notes: - No tipping policy: one of their big selling points which is generously advertised everywhere - Almost everything is self-service: everyone grabs their own utensils/water/etc. - For those who care, the music seemed like an Ai playlist on repeat. It wasn't super bothersome, but notable for those with the ear for it - The 2x naengmyeons came out very fast, but our Galbi plate came out 75% through out meal. In their defense it was a busy night for a new business. It's a casual restaurant tho and we weren't in a huge rush so it didn't matter much to us The Food: - Mul naengmyeon base soup was good, and obv much better with vinegar + mustard. Ice was like snow vs. slush which provided a v different texture. the buckwheat noodles worked well with the dish even if i prefer arrowroot more - Pibim naengmyeon: we enjoyed more. Very balanced sweet and tang with light spice. A solid dish - Galbi was really good. Slightly smaller portion but well cooked and the marinade was perfectly sweet. A solid galbi - Always have to mention the free self-serve broth Ultimately, on a more choosy day I'll usually prefer arrowroot noodles for naengmyeon, but it's such a really good bargain and i could definitely see myself dropping by again for a nice bite and quick service at a great price if i'm in the area. Hands down, the best nengmyeon I've had in a long time. What really sets this place apart is the meat they use in the nengmyeon. Instead of the thin, inexpensive cuts you usually get, they serve thick, tender, beautifully marbled slices that completely elevate the dish. It was the standout for me. The seafood pancake was phenomenal too, packed with seafood, incredibly filling, and huge! They also offer complimentary yooksoo (hot beef broth) at the self-serve station, which pairs perfectly with the meal. Don't skip it! A couple of things to keep in mind: try to come early. They recently opened and were turning away a lot of customers because they had already sold out of several items. Parking is also limited, so you may need to find street parking. Overall, this place is an easy 10/10. I can already tell it's going to be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving nengmyeon. Can't wait to come back! read more

Self-serve restaurant with no tipping required, a nice touch. We originally wanted to try the braised beef short rib, but it was sold out . We ended up with the pork collar butt, bulgogi, and seafood pancake instead. The seafood pancake was a 10/10 for me, and my husband loved the pork collar butt. The free beef broth was also amazing!! honestly, that alone would bring me back. Solid meal for the price. Ordered the cold noodles with galbi, oxtail soup, and bulgogi. The bulgogi was mid. Galbi was tender. Cold noodles were nice and chewy. The oxtail soup had two decent sized oxtails in it. It's a self service restaurant. You order at the counter and grab your own condiments, drinks, and food. It's a small and noisy restaurant. Food tastes and quality were terrible. I ordered bibym Nengmyun, noodles were too much boiled and on sauce, they put too much soy sauce, it was salty and too much soy sauce taste. Also, I ordered LA galbi, OMG!! I can't chew, I spit it out. Two husband and wife were eating next of our table and said same things, meat was too tough to chew, all the foods are no good. Overall, I would rather pay more for a place like Surawon on Olympic (near Vermont) than have food that just doesn't taste good.
