Am always hesitant to try new breakfast places (I always eat at Spencer's on Rosedale) - but the commercials really looked good. Went to IHOP on Rosedale - and while they didn't seem thrilled to seat me, the service was generally good. Complaint is the food. First clue is that you can't smell actual food cooking when you enter - and that is precisely what it tasted like. Ordered a lot to try out.....but made no difference. The pancakes were O:K at best, though they did LOOK as good as the TV ones. The eggs, sausage and potatoes joined the pancakes in being almost totally tasteless. Even the salt and pepper didn't add any flavor. Not joking, if I had been blindfolded, I would have been hard-put to know what I was eating. Prices would be O:K if one could taste the food. Horrible service. We came in at 11:00pm last night December 11, and only lasted 10minutes in there. So i don't know what her name is, Gina or whatever. A lot of makeup and glasses. She seemed racist and was flat out rude. She didn't care for our order. Completely ignored us and then came back to take my sisters order with no pen and paper. Might I add that my sisters order was long. Now I don't think she can remember all that. Please don't come here. Don't waste your time and money. I am going to call later on and file a complaint. I want to speak to the manager or supervisor about this. This is completely unacceptable behavior. If you don't like your job, don't work there. Be happy. It's not that hard. I'm giving them one more star because last night I had a late dinner at 11 pm at this restaurant with family members and I had a great time and the service was much better than my last visit here. They were busy as usual at that time of night but they kept our our orders straight and kept our drink glasses filled. Everyone else there seemed happy but maybe someone might have thought it was a bit noisy but I enjoyed the jovial atmosphere. read more

Wow! Very rude and disrespectful waitress!!! She had bright redish/pink hair and I believe her name was geanie or geena! She rolled her eyes when we asked for a refill and she walked away shaking her head. Ihop is the place to go for me and my coworkers after a long night shift. We come at least once a week and we are never disappointed. We've made friends with the server Cory and he is INCREDIBLE. He's beyond helpful, very friendly, hilarious and he always takes care of us. He already knows our orders! He'll even joke with us and our riddles. This man should be a manager! He deserves more than being just a server! The food is always amazing as well, we love the seasoning on the French fries! read more

Went there for breakfast on 2/15/13. The place wasn't too busy as we got there after the breakfast rush. We were seated right away and got our food pretty quickly. At some point the waiter disappeared and was never to be seen again. People around us that were just coming in were served by another waiter. This waiter never spoke to us or checked in on us. I finished my drink and really wanted a refill. I looked for the waiter and put the empty glass at the end of the table. No one ever tried to refill it. I gave up and left. Upon paying I told the cashier that the waiter disappeared and she said he was put on break and should have told us. Apparently the other waiter that was busy yip yapping with some regulars should have assisted us, but since we weren't regulars we didn't matter. Kind of annoying. read more

I have gone to this location several times and it seems to me that recently that the service is getting pretty sucky! There is this one waitress there that I can't stand and so that will change the times when I go if I have to and have no choice. She isn't very friendly and seems like she is a " know it all" and it really gets to me. Also, she doesnt check up on us, looks at us weird at times, and then overcharges us on something that I didn't want and she tells u the total and doesn't even give u the receipt when u have to go up to the register to get ur ticket to pay and leave. Yeah, I had to go up to the register to get my ticket cause she never came by after she gave us our food! I wouldn't really recommend this place really but if you are in that side of town and have to eat, so be it, but I would rather go to another location if it was me. read more

I was about to give this place a 3-4 stars due to the food that we ate 2 nights ago. The meat was tender and tasty. It was quiet that day we came. And I decided to come again, this time to pick up my order. I was 2nd in line and the guy ahead of me was given a seat already. I waited for few more minutes, then a couple came in. The server came by and said that she will get my order but seated the couple who was waiting After me!! She even said that why people come in that time of the day?"I was there just to pick up the food I ordered! Shouldn't be First Come, First Served?! I took the food home, the meat were hard to chew, the eggs tasted different, my daughter didn't like it. I ordered almost same food the first time we went but it was cooked differently. My 7 year old chose this restaurant for his birthday dinner. The restaurant was clean and the food was great as usual. I was very impressed with the wait staff. We were checked on often and when our waiter overheard it was a birthday celebration, the staff came over with a big sundae and sang "Happy Birthday". It made his day and we left a large tip. Stopped in after my daughter had a fasting blood test. Manager seated us and immediately brought her some orange juice. I love the carafe of coffee at the table, no need to wait to get my fix. Flavored creamer is a very nice touch. Buttermilk pancakes and bacon were delicious. The restaurant was remarkably clean considering how busy they are. Service was great. Our waitress let us in on a little secret, fill out the survey on the receipt before you pay. The code is good for a free short stack which they will honor on the same visit. read more

We made a spontaneous trip to Ihop at 12 in the morning. I was expecting it to be kind of empty on a Wednesday night but to my surprise it wasn't and people just kept coming. They only had one waitress during that time and she was an older lady. She was really struggling to keep up with getting people seated and giving us our drinks and took a long time before we even ordered. She was real nice though. My family and I prefer this IHOP even though this one is not the closest to our house. We often go in the later evenings with the kids before we do our normal shopping. The business is always clean. The staff is always accurate and friendly. We have two younger children and they are always attentive and kind to our children and not letting us leave without telling us how well mannered they are. They never forget to deduct the kids meals on the days when kids eat free, I do not have to remind them eight times. The food is good, especially love the variety of omelettes. I know IHOP restaurants are suppose to be similar across the board since there are so many, but I want to compliment the GM on creating an inviting atmosphere which makes this one more appealing to visit than others. read more

Got the cheeseburger burger omelet which was good. Huge portion so took 3/4 to go. Service was good. There's definitely a difference between IHOP & Denny's. Ihop dishes have flavor. Friend tried the latte pancakes and really liked them. It's been a long long time since nice I've been to IHOP. Glad we cane here. This is most definitely the better location. Late breakfast because of shopping,IHOP in center so we stopped in. Only had a 5 minute wait for table and server seemed to have it all together..taking order,coffee, water etc.Being around 11:30am we chose 2- combo,ham,1 sausage,1 egg and one pancake along with the very tasty red potatoes. The order was delivered and request for A1 was quickly brought to table. What the let down was in the ham.The smallest serving I have ever seen on a breakfast plate.A vegan could most likely consume this amount without violating his oath. Oh, the pancakes arrived just in time for lunch......meaning we consumed most of the meal by the time they were brought to table.No explanation from server as she dropped the two orders and took off.What will not bring us back was on exiting business and walking to auto,parked in rear,were the dozens of dead water roaches around building.I understand they have to spray as this is a sewer problem but please,there was a guy emptying trash 6 feet away,he didn't notice? If I could give a negative star, I would. I myself as a server understand how it is to be busy and even short handed. I had a bad experience with service at another breakfast restaurant down the street so I decided to try I HOP instead. We were seated right away. Even though they were busy our server Rebecca got our drinks started right away. Already I was more satisfied. She had great attitude which i really appreciated. Just had a great dinning experience at this ihop. One of my Sons favorite places to go. Samantha our server was very pleasant. Her coworkers were nice as well. Every time my wife and son go they have no complaints. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommend for an inexpensive night out. Always great if you go on an off night. They do get busy. Tonight was just another great experience with excellent service by all. My wife ate the sirloin steak tips and eggs which was bomb. I usually would not think of ihop for anything other than breakfast but I now know what I am ordering next time for sure. A+ item that they have nailed the last two visits my wife says. I had the smoke house combo with the sausages. Pretty good. My son tried the bacon temptation omelette with biscuits and gravy. He loved it. Good job ihop folks. Mmmm that really hit the spot this morning. They were pretty busy as it was a holiday morning, but we didn't have to wait all that long... About 20 minutes. They have cushioned benches in the front lobby to sit while you wait, so it wasn't bad at all. Our waitress came over and asked us three times if we were ready to order before we were even done reviewing the menu... Which was a little pestery, but I know it's because they were busy and probably just trying to move people through, and maybe a lot of people that come regularly are fairly familiar with the menu and it doesn't take them long to figure out their order. The food came out quick and it was delish! The restaurant appeared clean. There were quite a few crumbs and things on the floor near the tables... But again, they were busy and there were a lot of children, so that was understandable. The Lobby area was very clean. I would go back again. read more

Every time that I've gone here, they've gotten my order wrong. We each (three of us) order simple food, didn't hold anything or make additions, and it took around 30 minutes. We saw the waitress twice, in two hours. Never got a refill, and she forgot my hot cocoa and forgot the eggs for my combo. This happens every time.
