Stepped through the door around 7pm Monday night. Upstairs closed and somewhat busy. Had to put my name down for two. Waited around a spacious seating area to sit at a table.. maybe five minutes then Steven approached us and asked if we wanted to share one grill on a much bigger table. We then changed tables and opted to have our own hot pots and grill. QUALITY 3.8 food! Seafood selection were alright CRAB RAGOON. I want more just thinking of it.. Now their cuts of meat?? I don't have a lot of hotpot eating experience, but I was recently introduced to hotpot during a vacation in Hong Kong. This compares quite favorably to the hotpot there! Food is great. Order the biangbiang (sp?) noodles and the waygu beef. Getting seated was a little confusing but it worked fine. We had to write our name and cell number on the wait list which is a notebook near the front door. Staff is busy but attentive and polite. read more

This place was really nice! I went for my graduation celebration and was with a small group, but we ordered A LOT at once. They were super accommodating and friendly! A few waiters even made jokes with us. Anyway, parking was easy to find since it's in a semi-residential area. The sauce bar is just like the one at Q Pot. I really like their roasted red pepper oil! I wish they labeled their vinegar and oil bottles though, I had to guess which was what. Service is great and quick (I went at about 7:30pm), meat and vegetables were fresh and new, and they even have Chinese donuts! Lastly, the Chinese Herb and Pork Bone soup is actually a little bland than other hot pot places, so if you were hoping it would be super flavorful, I suggest getting something else. read more

Very friendly and prompt service! I came here for lunch on a weekend, and the crowd was fairly light so your mileage may vary. But our waitress quickly explained how everything worked and left us time to decide what we would get. Extensive menu, for sure, but 1/4 of it is different kinds of fish balls, essentially, which don't really appeal to me. I did like that there were several cooked food options - it helps to have some dishes cut through all the hotpot. They definitely had the basics and then some. Everything we selected was brought out quickly. We also had the taro milk tea, which was very sweet but I didn't actually mind it here because it helped with the spicier things! I wanted to try the regular milk tea but they happened to just be brewing it when we sat down and we were told it would be another hour. Oh well. I do think it would be nice if they just went ahead and included the cheaper drinks in the AYCE price/menu, though. But I won't complain too much because it was a small pitcher for a dollar, I'm down. I learned that eggplant works really well on the grill! Just keep turning it so it doesn't stick and give it time to cook through. I did end up using the pot portion for most of my food, though - was afraid to make too big of a mess on my grill! Ultimately, though, I just wish my stomach were bigger! Also - possibly my favorite thing was the sauce bar. Why don't more hot pot places have these?!? I hadn't seen one since a hot pot place I visited in Beijing a couple of years ago. These should be standard issue, SAUCE BARS FOR EVERYONE!! Anyway, give this place a try. It seems like they're doing a really good job with service and they've got a strong selection of foods, so why not? I think I just found my best shabu spot. The waitress that we had I believe her name was kaman she was really nice during our time here. The quality of their beef was really good especially their short rib which was hella bomb. They have so many soup bases I couldn't decide which to settle for so the waitress gave me 4 base at one time how cool is that right? They have a full cart of all you can dip sauce which I created my own personal smack sauce out of it lol. The boss was really nice he even offered us free beer A+++++ I'll be back next week with more of my friends soon. read more

Literally hands down my favorite place to eat hot pot!!!!! The service is amazing here and the food is so good!! They give great portions and they have the most variety of food for an all you can eat hot pot! The drinks here are bomb too and complimentary ice cream! I love their sauce bar and they have dim sum and let me just give a minute to praise their milky buns, soup dumplings, and crab rangoons as part of the dim sum menu! All so bomb! AYCE was for $28... which is actually higher than any of the other places I've been. Our first plate of the wagyu was delicious and barely had any fat. Our 2nd plate of wagyu had a lot of fat, where each slice of meat was at least 1/2 fat, leaving a tiny sliver of meat. Anyway, me and my friends all got the BBQ pot, which was half shabu and half bbq... pretty cool concept. The only thing that was annoying was that my soup was boiling, but my meat wasn't cooking on the BBQ side! Oh yea, another annoying thing was that our table got these thin water cups whereas everyone got bigger cups with handles and we kept on asking for water. The one thing that seriously bothered me was the lack of ventilation in this place. I didn't get to see the whole restaurant, but I'm assuming the tables on the side share one big pot and the tables in the middle, each person has their own pot. Since everyone basically has their own pot, you would expect the ventilation to be high or maybe turn not he AC. The steam from the pots were blowing straight in my face and by the end of dinner, my eye liner was running off my eyes... pretty embarrassing. When we left the restaurant, all the windows were all steamed too... There have actually been a few times during dinner where our servers forgot our order and we had to ask a few times to check on them. Overall, my experience was okay... I probably wouldn't come back unless I had no other choice of other restaurants. read more

My go-to hotpot spot in SF. This place got me to appreciate hotpot. And if the hotpot wasn't enough, it's AYCE kbbq too - and AYCE assorted dim sum (from their short but on-point list). And all under $30. Simply amazing, and worth the trek to Inner Sunset. If you haven't had hotpot before: you choose your own broth, order raw meats and cooked dim sum off a list (can always add more but no waste allowed, standard AYCE policy), and while you wait, make your own sauce to dip all of that goodness in. For broth, I recommend the Chinese herb (I think that's what it was called?), which was really recommended to me by the friend I go with. For meats, there are tons of options, but my favorites are the Wagyu beef, spicy beef (comes with a red sauce), pork belly, fish balls, and mussels. And for dim sum, the scallion pancake hits the spot. And save room for dessert - the one thing you must get off the dim sum list is the dough balls with condensed milk (not sure of exact name, but they'll get it) - basically these perfect donut hole sized balls that you dip in condensed milk. So good! The pumpkin pancake and green tea ice cream are also great ways to end the meal. read more

AYCE hot pot and grill. What is better than those words. When you first walk in there is usually semi loud EDM or pop music playing. Super friendly and helpful staff, but remind you, it is still new, so at times when it gets really busy it is kind of hard to wave down a waiter. The food is great, wide selection from the premium meats such as ribeye and wagyu, to your more traditional stuff such as fish balls, tofu, etc. Broth is good, have a choice of either half pot half grill, or just a regular hot pot. A big mug of milk tea is $0.99 so that's nice as well. Place gets really crowded at times so coming early is always a good idea. Parking can be slightly difficult as well. I've been to a lot of hot pot places and this is by far one of my favorites. read more

What a deal! There will always be a wait but you know what, it's worth it. The meat is sliced thinly, the veggies are fresh...what more do you want? Oh and dimsum is included in the all-you-can-eat menu. I didn't realise you got ice-cream for free afterwards. My friend and I were truly stuffed but we were asked if we wanted ice-cream at least four times by four different people as they took away our plates and trays. If you have a party of 5 and less then I suggest that you ask for a table with 4 stoves so you can choose more than 2 soups. We were sat down immediately, which was great because I was starving. They have a lot of items on their menus to choose from. If you like spicy soups I suggest that you get the "Secret Spicy Soup." The soups had plenty of flavors but if that's not enough for you, they even have their own sauce bar where you can mix your own sauces. Their employees were really friendly and quick on their toes. My new favorite hot pot spot! I love me some good hot pot - it should honestly be its own food group. Overall, IPOT won me over with their stellar decor, service and food! First time I came here was actually because The Pots of Judah was completely packed and had over an hour wait at 6PM! My brother did a quick search and found IPOT - gave them a call and they told us there was no wait for a large party of 8. Decor - love, love the large circular dining tables they have upstairs for big parties. It's great to be able to see everyone you're with unlike other hot pot spots that put you in long narrow tables where to can't interact with anyone on the other end. Also came here with a smaller group a few weeks later, and the individual pots in the booth seats are awesome as well! For those worried about sharing a pot, a booth table of four can each get their own soup. Overall, their set up rocks. Service - honestly, every waiter and waitress there is amazing! They're patient, attentive, and super helpful. Crazy, right? They deserve five stars for their service alone. Shout out to their awesome team! Food - PSA: I'm a pescotarian, so I can really only comment on their seafood and veggie dishes. Let's just make it known that everything was fresh and delicious. For soup choice, I always opt for the spicy pot, which has a nice kick to it. Be careful when ordering this one because soaking the veggies in here can be a little extra extraaa spicy. Fish paste, spicy fish fillets, and the shrimp are my fav seafood dishes! You can always judge how fresh the seafood is based on the shrimp quality, and theirs is delish. IPOT, you're doing great work! Other favs are the Biang Biang noodles (handmade), green onion pancake (surprisingly delicious!), wintermelon, fried taro, and fried bean curd. Sauce bar is super legit- peanut butter, satay, soy sauces, garlic, green onion, cilantro, bean curd, chili oil, all for you to create your dream sauce. Service is pretty good too. Usually very attentive and keep the food coming before you run out, since it is All you can Eat after all. Make sure to not eat within 6 hours for maximum fill. What else? Temperature is kept cool which my husband loves but I have learned to bring a sweater. After decades, I dropped in to this address, where my absolute favorite seafood place had been ( D'Wave ), only to find this unique Chinese melange restaurant. It was late, customers were few, and perhaps that is why we were spared the poor service that many have mentioned. it is almost like a Mongolian BBQ-cum-hot pot ( PLEASE note that Mongolian Hot Pot is an altogether different thing ) joint. The ingredients seemed quite good, if not top-tier, but excellent for this type of place. The 5 stars have some caveat: 1) huge appetite, 2) adventuresome spirit and some ability in mixing sauce ingredients, and 3) no wishy-washy tendencies. If you do not have a huge appetite, the price may be very high for you. I miss D'Wave badly, where the Chommanard ( God, I hope I spelled it correctly! ) brothers would basically throw in a second lobster tail for under cost if you wanted it. But, this interesting Chinese place is indeed a worthy successor! Go fast yourself for a week, and have a feast here! read more

Fun and delicious! They are still in the "soft opening" phase so they're working out some of the operational kinks, but we are definitely fans. I've done hot pot before but not quite like this. You get your own personal pot of broth (two different flavors, or broth + grill), and there's a seasoning bar so you can flavor it to your liking. Dinner is "all you can eat" and you're encouraged to order several times during the meal. It's a little overwhelming at first with all the boiling broth and plates of food, but it's awesome once you get the hang of it. The staff is also very nice. Pro Tip: Don't be afraid to ask for a fork if you're not skilled with chopsticks. read more

I really enjoy their all you can eat hotpot! Their tomato soup base is very yummy and after cooking a whole bunch of different meats in it, the soup just tastes so good! The item that this place offers is the bian bian noodle which I have not seen at any other AYCE hotpot places but this type of noodle is so unique and yummy! The fact that the plum juice and some other juices are only 99cents makes me so happy to get a drink along with hotpot. The experience is good, We two ordered just right portion , three dishes of meat, three veggies, beef want, fish tofu, shrimp slices. The american wagyu beef is good , but beef wantoo and shrimp slices disappoints me a little bit. They have free deserts ,ice cream , which is must better than any other Chinese restaurants. It's hard not wanting to try a restaurant with 4 star Yelp rating and is literally a brand new place. The individual pot with one side hotpot and one side grill is pretty cool. The sauce bar is a plus too. The portion of food they serve is smart. 4-5 slices of meat per plate and very little gets wasted. The quality of food is pretty good. The reason this place only gets 2 star from me with all those pluses is first the way the whole place smells. We walked in 15 mins after they are open and the place smelled like old dirty mop. The odor was so strong and it made me not want to sit down at first because I wasn't sure where the smell was from. Very very awful. With more people coming in and more pots and grill started cooking, the dirty mop smell was covered but it was still sitting in the back of my mind. The other reason is their service. Just very unorganized. The servers are all polite but all of them are like busy bees. I feel very bad for them. The sauce bar is a great idea but without proper maintenance, it's a train reck. Sauces were all over the place. A lot of spoons for the sauces were missing because they had sinked to the bottom of the containers. You see a few drops of white sauce in the brown sauce or vice versa. The poor servers were just too paralyzed to take care of the sauce bar. I came in with a group of 3 on a Saturday night at about 9:30. We stood there for a good 5-6 minutes before anyone even saw us. We had to flag someone over to seat us. The place was half empty (or half full if you're an optimist!). We each got individual pots with our choice of broth to boil our food in. The first wave was okay. Then we weren't checked on for a good half hour, not even a single word. I wouldn't even have minded if they didn't say anything and refilled our pots when they were running low. Our broth was starting to run dry and one of our friends had to pour her glass of water into her pot just to keep it from reducing some more. Again, we had to flag someone down just to order the next wave of food. At that point, some of us were already over this place. It was the lack of service that bugged the hell out of us. It's not like we can get up and get food to cook ourselves. Otherwise I would have given it a better score. Oh, two of my other friends got food poisoning the next day. I was fine and I ate whatever they ate. Can't fully blame the restaurant for that, but it sure added to the overall negative experience. read more

My boyfriend and I came for the first time today and was not disappointed! I suggest the spicy miso soup. It's not spicy but has that flavor. They have their own diy sauce bar which is very appreciated and they had such high quality ingredients! The meat is nice and thin and their shrimp was plump and juicy. I'd give it two stars, but given the sesame sauce, I'll give it another star. Hot pot: not good, the taste was bland and it was not anything like the authentic mala guo (spicy) pot, it didn't do the meat any flavor and it just wasn't the right taste. The soup base was not a good one. BBQ: Bland taste, hard to use, not practical. This is not a great place to have BBQ either because the meat wasn't the right fit for bbq, and the sauce available was also not good for bbq meat, none of the meat was actually marinated for bbq purposes. I am really experienced in hot pot and bbq, I've tried all the highly praised and well received hot pot/bbq places in the bay area, and I can say responsibly that this place is not worth the try or the return, which I won't be doing. read more
