We originally planned to have lunch at A PCH, but after seeing the wait there, we decided to try this restaurant instead because it looked nearly empty. We figured that with so few customers, we'd be able to enjoy a quicker, more relaxed lunch. Unfortunately, that assumption couldn't have been more wrong. After placing our order, we waited approximately 45 minutes for our food to arrive. As the minutes continued to pass, I actually started writing this review while still waiting for our meal. During that time, I also took the opportunity to read through other customer reviews. I noticed that several other diners had mentioned similarly long wait times, which made me realize our experience may not have been an isolated incident. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the experience simply didn't justify the amount of time we spent waiting. If you're looking for a quick or even reasonably paced lunch, I'd recommend dining somewhere else. On the other hand, if you're willing to wait 45 minutes or more for your food and don't mind a slower-paced experience, you may still enjoy the meal once it arrives. The restaurant clearly has the ability to produce decent food, but until the wait service and kitchen timing improve, it's difficult for me to recommend it based on the overall dining experience.
Went out for a few hours to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we tried out this spot at @2nd_pch I loved the ambiance of @jinyaramenbar right when we walked in. So glad we went at a great time where it wasn't busy and overwhelming. I appreciated the helpfullness of our waitress, down to recommendations and service. The LYCHEETINI was entertaining and delicious! My husband loved the SALMON POKÉ MINI TACOS as much as I loved the CRISPY RICE WITH SPICY TUNA. We both enjoyed the GARLIC RICE that was served on a hot plate that got the rice crispy and yummy. The JINYA TONKOTSU BLACK was devoured by the both of us as well. They have several locations and, make sure you check before you go, but they have happy hour on the weekends and that's a plus right there!
Really I'm pressed by the quality, value, and service of this ramen spot. Tonkatsu black ramen is super flavorful with chewy noodles. Tonkatsu original has thicker noodles and heartier broth which I was actually a bigger fan of. Let's talk about this value pick kids meal though. Chicken ramen, chicken chashu rice bowl, chicken karaage, fries, and ice cream for under $15? Say less. My kid enjoyed it and so did I. They have an app too to reward you with food from accruing points and it's super easy to sign up!
Came here on Valentine's Day with my husband and son. No wait right around 12 so it was perfect! We got seated right away. My husband ordered the black tonkatsu and I ordered the classic tonkatsu. we also ordered the kids meal for our son which was $11. The classic tonkatsu came with a thicker broth that was heavier in flavor and had thicker noodles. I wasn't a fan because I like my ramen broth on a thinner side and don't want the flavor to be too overpowering. The black tonkatsu was much more my speed. It was that familiar tonkatsu ramen that I like with black garlic oil. It definitely had more fixing which was nice for my husband, but I'm a "Chashu, spinach, and nori" kind of gal so the fixings were all scooped into my husband's mouth haha The kids meal was also amazing. There was a small bowl of chicken ramen, a bowl of Chashu rice, 2 pieces of karaage, and fries. On top of that, we had a lollipop and ice cream at the end. It was super filling for $11 and we ended up taking home leftovers. The ice cream was really good though! Definite bang for your buck to come here. We were super pleased with the service as well.

I've had Jinya twice, once to go and most recently to dine in. The service was good, but took 30 minutes to get seated at the bar. It seems like they're understaffed on the floor. The 5 piece Crispy Chicken and Premium Tonkotsu Red Ramen with level 3 spice were both very delicious. The chicken was definitely crispy, so I submerged a few pieces in the ramen, which made it more decadent. The staff is friendly & cool and I would return for happy hour. Lastly, structure parking is free for 90 minutes and costs $2 for every 20 minutes after.
12/10/25 - Our server, Chris, had really good customer service and had good energy even though it was the end of the night. I appreciated his honesty when we asked for his recommendations and for what dishes were better than others. I ordered the Chicken Yuzu Shio Delight Ramen ($18.20). I liked how the broth was citrusy and light but the flavor of the chicken wasn't great. I am not the biggest fan of ramen and am rarely impressed by ramen places. The chicken ramen wasn't bad but it didn't make a lasting impression and, in my opinion, was overpriced. My friends ordered the Jinya Tonkotsu Black, one of the most popular ramens, which they said was pretty good so maybe I just didn't order the right thing.
Food was good, but the service really missed the mark. We came on a Sunday around 2 PM when the restaurant was maybe half full and still had to wait about 15 minutes just to get seated. We ordered the Tonkotsu Red, which tasted great once it finally arrived, but it took around 30 minutes for the ramen to come out. On top of that, the appetizer we ordered still hadn't even come out by the time we got our food. The food itself saved the experience, but the wait times and lack of service made it frustrating overall.
Came here for their $29 brunch special and it was worth the drive. They open at 11AM. Best to go at opening because they tend to get really busy closer to noon. For our party of 12, this worked out well. We made a reservation and was seated as soon as more than half of our party was present. For $29, you get 2 small plates (appetizers) and one bowl of your choice of ramen. We ordered at least one of each appetizer so we can all try. The crispy chicken (karaage) and the pork gyoza were a hit, the Jinya pork belly bun was also good, but what surprised us the most was the brussels sprouts tempura. Not only was it battered perfectly, it was also well seasoned - must get this! Most of us opted for the Tonkotsu Black ramen since this seemed to be one of the only options with pork chashu. One of the best ramens I've ever had... creamy, delicious 20 HOUR broth, perfectly jammy eggs, tender chashu, and just the right balance of flavors. Option to also add $10 for bottomless mimosas with a 1.5 hr limit. We also got a few of their cocktails & Sapporo's. They have a condiment tray for gyoza sauce, hot sauce, & seasoning sauce (so so good). I was too shy to ask if they sold bottles of those because I would've totally bought a few. Good service. Delicious food. Great bang for your buck. Highly recommend.
Great experience, very nice ambiance, and the food was filled with exquisite flavors. I tried the Jinya Chicken Ramen bowl and it did not disappoint. I indulged in a glass of plum wine and it match well with the Ramen bowl. I advice others to stop in and try and you will not be disappointed. The staff were kind and helpful as well. I ordered their original ramen and their chasu chicken rice. The ramen, especially, was over the top salty. It must've been prepared by the same cook. If I ever come back, I'll let them know to hold the salt. The rice? It was fine, but I don't think ground chicken works. I like the concept of an alternative to pork, but.... The chicken was a tad dry. Service was lackluster. My table was piling up of dishes and wrappers, but it wasn't removed until the end of my dining experience. I still gave an 18% cash tip, but I wished the staff was a bit more attentive. Also, they do not validate for parking. Kind of a bummer because I was only there to eat; which took 45 minutes. The establishment is located on one end of the 2nd and PCH outdoor shopping center.
Many places you can take your significant other on a date! I took my wife on a lunch date here and we always no matter where we go have awesome food and service when we go here. The host is very helpful, super attentive, not just us, but to other people in the restaurant, even with a large crowd outside . Portions are a great size and amazing and taste ! The chicken Ramen I had, was so soft it literally melts in your mouth and just adding a little bit of their spice that's on the table, outstanding! And yeah, I licked that bowl clean !!!
Food- Red ramen bowl- disclaimer-people will not like this if they aren't into spicy or fatty flavors. I very much enjoyed it. Rich in natural pork flavor and spice level of my choice. Well executed and very easy on the eyes. Karaage with perfectly crunchiness and depth of flavor with the simple soy dip. Value- They do nickel and dime you for the sides, which i dont appreciate. 2 SMALL pieces of extra pork for $3.50, really?? I get that the location is expensive, but this is overboard. Service was excellent from the moment I stepped in and all throughout my dining experience. Overall ambiance is great too. My server Jeremiah was friendly, checking in to make sure everything was good and also that my reward deal was still applicable. Highly recommend signing up for their rewards program and they also have an app, making it convenient for to go orders. *this is solely a DoorDash review*: After having Rakkan a few times I really wanted to try JINYA based on their Yelp reviews. Didn't feel like making dinner so I DoorDashed some ramen. I was very impressed by their vegetarian options and LOVED that they came with thick noodles. Ended up choosing the Vegan Flying Harvest. Unfortunately my ramen arrived cold and I had to heat up the broth but that's fine. My order was missing the tofu pictured online. I was interested in trying tofu with impossible meat. Pretty good ramen place. The outside area is super cool where you can eat around a fire pit. I sat inside and the service was super fast. They current have a promotion where if you like the page on Facebook you can purchase 2 ramen bowls and get a free appetizer. I'm not sure how long this will be running for. The ramen itself was delish. Where I'm iffy on is the selection. It is separated by protein option versus ordering a base and selecting the protein which is what I'm used to. It was my first time here and I decided to sit outdoors. I went with their spicy chicken ramen bowl, and tried their dessert. Overall the food was great! I came here solo, but there were people on dates or on a family night out. The customer service was very excellent. They're very attentive and make sure everything is going well for the experience. I see myself returning soon. ----------- Side note: There was a group of guests that was leaving from the restaurant and one of them seemed to be drunk and as all three were crossing the street, one of them said the n-word... I think this is well noting if other people decide to come here. Took the wife to come eat dinner here and we had an amazing time. We had the Premium Tonkotsu Red and the Spicy Chicken Ramen and it was so delicious. JINYA in Long Beach has one of the best happy hours around great selection and well priced for the quality you get. Pro tip: order the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen as your base, then add whatever meat you like it's rich, flavorful, and so good. The crispy tuna, spicy tuna tacos, buns, and Takoyaki are all excellent as well, making it easy to fill the table with hits. Between the value, the variety, the good service, and the consistently great flavors, JINYA is a go to ramen and small plates spot in Long Beach. read more

Came here for the second time and decided to try the Tonkotsu Red at a Spicy Level 4 after being pretty impressed my first visit. Was definitely still impressed after this one! The broth was creamy but not overly heavy which is common with a lot of Tonkotsu, so it struck just the rich balance of richness. All the ingredients tasted quality and the noodles were nice and thick and chewy. The ajitama (ramen egg) was quite good which to me always is a marker of a good ramen place. When it comes to spice level, I was tearing up a bit at level 4 but it wasn't overly spicy--I could've possible done a bit higher but it would have been a bit uncomfortable to drink the soup. If you're really into spice I would say level 4 is a nice base level to try. If you aren't super into spice but want something spicy I would maybe stick with level 2 or lower. Considering spice goes up to level 10 don't get overly zealous! As usual the parking here was pretty easy in the parking structure and didn't have to drive around much to find a spot. The wait was pretty short for a weekday night--only about 15 or so minutes for a party of 2. Service was also just as great this time around; food came out pretty fast! Never going back. We decided to give this place another chance after a terrible experience where we we ordered take out, and it took over an hour after the time the order was supposed to be ready, to actually be ready. After finally getting the order, one of the items we ordered (Jinya chicken ramen) only had soup and noodles. No chicken or vegetables were included. Also we ordered an extra side of noodles which were not included. This time, there was a bug inside the food. How this can happen is beyond me. The quality control at this place and the service is unbelievably bad. How they stay in business with this terrible service and quality doesn't make sense to me. Weirdly the star of the show for me was the tempura brussels sprouts. Just really crispy and light, great flavor. We got the tonkatsu black and the chicken ramen and both had good flavor. They offered free extra noodles, but we didn't need them since we were full anyways. Both had a good rich broth and we thought it was better than the average ramen place we've gone to. Just had a quick lunch here with Cosmo, my goldendoodle fur baby. Marvin the server was so nice and friendly. He even brought water out for Cosmo. The lunch special for $20 includes ramen, chicken,& a soda. It is so tasty. The pork belly was well cooked and unctuous. The soft boiled egg was cooked to perfection as well as the ramen noodles. Another one of those Instagram recommended places! Cool ambience inside and out. The bowls are big and many choices. Possibly the best ramen I've had, aside from what my daughter has made. If you run out of noodles you can ask for more to go with your broth, but it does cost. They also have a week day special that looks really good, ramen coupled with appetizers and a drink. This is in the 2nd and PCH center, if you look down the center towards the ocean, not the marina, It's straight ahead. read more

This was my first time eating Ramen at a restaurant. Because of childhood trauma, I've avoided ramen in my adult life. My people who were raised in fiscally conservative households understand me. After a lovely afternoon session at Sweathouz, which is located on the same plaza, (See my review on that experience) we over the Jinya, largely due to the huge digital marketing kiosk that was scrolling pics their food on the screen in front and it looked delicious. Initially, I notice to small space which I would call intimate. Luckily it wasn't too packed. We were seated right away but not before me confirming that they served alcohol. They did, so we stayed. We were given a menu and, I looked over the cocktail and I was slightly disappointed. There was not a large selection of libations and it didn't appear they had a full bar so just keep that in mind. I ordered an Old Fashion for my man and Y something margarita (I forgot the name). And yes I said "I ordered", it was Valentine's Day and I was treating this time. Anyway, after ordering drinks I ordered a couple appetizers - the garlic shrimp spring rolls and French fries. YES - French fries! Don't judge. Yall, the spring rolls were fire , so good , I would definitely recommend. The French fries were French fries, nothing extraordinary about them. For the main entree, we both got the spicy chicken ramen. I knew I wanted that because of the kiosk that had this food item on display. It's served on 3 spice levels. We chose to be safe and get mild but we could've definitely been less cautious cause it wasn't spicy at all. The staff were friendly and attentive as much as they could be. It was only 2 of them at that time so they definitely were on there working as the customers began to roll in by the time we were finishing up. My man loves ramen and for my first experience with it, I would say I'm definitely a fan - of this place cause other ramen places I've seen don't look as appealing as Jinya. Was curious to try this ramen but was unfortunately underwhelmed for the price. The tonkotsu ramen was good but there was nothing particularly special about it, and at $20/bowl I was expecting something amazing and/or much larger. The yuzu shio was intriguing but the tangy citrus flavor was a little strong - I think it would be better served with cold noodles rather than hot ramen. Got this ramen delivered, so maybe it's better as a dine-in option. However, I think there's other ramen spots that give you more bang for your buck. read more

I gave Jinya another shot and they have earned another star from me, upgrading my review to 4-stars. I was especially wowed by the flavor of the Impossible Bun and Impossible Rice Bowl. I especially liked that the rice bowl has the option to order a small size and there are so many layers of yummy ingredients such as crispy chickpeas, kale, pickled red cabbage, crispy garlic, and steamed rice. It also comes with a delicious curry ranch dressing that I love! I would easily order this dish again! There's only two reasons why I didn't fully upgrade this review to 5-stars: 1) They ran out of vegan mayo for the Impossible Bun 2) They ran out of quinoa/beans mix which I wanted to sub for the rice Perhaps those ingredients are really popular for the restaurant to be out by 1:30pm on a Saturday. Really great spot for ramen. Came out with a party of 9, they seated us outdoor, the fireplace was on. The Yelp check in offers excellent amount of food that we didn't realize ordering a full meal was plentiful. The ramen had a well balance flavor, really love the bao they served. Stopped here for lunch after going on a Duffy on the bay nearby. We had a party of 10 and the waiter was very accommodating with merging the tables together so we could be seated together. We each checked in on Yelp and got a free tapas plate which included two pieces of chicken karate, one spicy salmon taco, and three pieces of gyoza. It was very generous for a check in item! Super thankful that they let us each check in to get a plate. The service was phenomenal throughout our entire time dining there. The waiter kept checking in on us and updating on when the meal would be served since there was a large group of us. The ramen itself was average. The Yuzu Shio Delight had that citrus Yuzu flavor and I appreciated the uniqueness of the broth but unfortunately I don't think I would get it again. Yes, our food is made inhouse fresh daily including appetizers, toppings and the the broth used for our Ramen. Pork broth is simmered for over 24 hours and chicken broth for over 20 hours.

Yes, there is a large outdoor covered front patio area. They offer heat lamps and have a nice faux table top fire pit to sit around and dine at. They also have tables. The area can probably accommodate 15 to 20 people, maybe even a few more.
