Another great meal at JJamPPong. Their Korean Fried Chicken ("KFC") is the best in the area. The wonton soup pairs well with the KFC as it lightens the calories count. The garlic string beans dish has a nice snap to it. Their dishes has a home cook vibe to it. Good job chefs at JJamPPong. It is a treat to eat at Korean family owned restaurant.
Hands down one of the best in the city, this place is truly a gem. They do get pretty busy, but that just speaks to their quality, taste, and generous portions. Add in great service and friendly owners, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and the food they serve. It never misses, always consistently good. We've been coming here for a couple of years now, and whenever this is the lunch or dinner option, it's always a quick yes. We've tried quite a few dishes here: the honey walnut prawns, salt and pepper pork loin, salt and pepper prawns (so good), shrimp fried rice, and their regular chow mein with beef or shrimp, honestly all 10/10. But our definite go-to is the Hong Kong-style chow mein and the Mongolian beef. The portions are generous and usually feed us with some leftovers, which is always a plus. Pricing is fair for the quality and portion sizes. The place is clean. The only downside is parking, it's street parking only, so it can be a little tough to find a spot sometimes.
Delicious I was surprised at the food at this unassuming hole in the wall. There were plenty of seats when we came in on a Sunday night. Their menu seemed to have the classics + a few other Chinese dishes, but we didn't bother with those. We ordered and the food came out fast. *The Tangsuyuk came out first. Lots of crispy tender pork but the sauce was really special. Not too sweet with just the right amount of thickness. *The namesake jjamppong was hot and very spicy, but in a pleasant way. It could have used a little more seafood but the flavor was very on point. *Can't forget about the jajangmyeon. We tried both the beef and the seafood + beef. Both were excellent. The sauce is thick and rich and grappled onto the noodles. The service? attentive. Prices? great. Will def be coming back
Happend to be near this part of town and it was dinner time. Parking can be difficult in this area, bring your patience. This restuarant was tasty and service was fantastic. I don't usually have high standards for service at traditional Asian restaurants, but this one was genuine/friendly, quick, and efficient. I was impressed with the green beans in garlic sauce. The green beans had a nice crunch and weren't greasy. I truly tasted the garlic flavor, but it didn't overpower the dish. The clams tasted fresh and the chives/sauce paired nicely. Their famous jajang mein noodles had a nice chew, not soggy. They had enough sauce with bits of various ingredients that all went well together. Prices are standard compared with other similar restaurants. The ambiance was cozy and clean. There were a few tables available for large parties of 8-10, but probably best to come in small groups. Will definitely dine here again in the future. #31/2025
Go out of your way to dine at JJamPPong. Seriously, no matter where you are in San Francisco, this is a place that is worth checking out! Located in the mission district area, this is authenticity at its best. It's a lovely mix of Korean and Chinese delightful and delicious dishes. We've been here several times because it's that good. The dining room is small, but it's clean and the staff is very welcoming. Outside of outstanding food, here's what I absolutely love. The way they package to go orders. Yes, you read that correctly, the way they packaged to go orders. This alone outside of as I mentioned the delicious food, is a reason to dine here. The to go orders are vacuumed sealed, ensuring freshness, warmth, and the ability to reheat if need be the items. I absolutely plan on going back, again! Because there are so many dishes that are on the must try list. The double fried garlic chicken wings are so tasty! I wish they had a little bit more of the garlic sauce, and plan on requesting that for my next visit. The wings are super generous size. Not those small flimsy wings that you might find elsewhere. Perfectly crispy and perfectly moist meat. Just so delicious! My new favorite and go to is the JaJang Mein. It absolutely takes me back to Korea. This is comfort food at its finest, and I'm telling you this is the place to have it! The black bean sauce with bits of pork, and veggies, and the noodles, it makes my mouth water just at the thought of how good this incredible dishes. Don't let the coloring of the sauce dissuade you. I'm telling you it's fabulous! Parking is impossible because, San Francisco. Make the effort. Make the push. Go and try all the food. Seriously you can't go wrong. And again, if you don't wanna dine in, the way they package everything to go makes it even more tempting. You can even call in your order!
I've been craving JjamPpong and I finally had the chance to visit again after more than a year. This place is still SO good, with big portions that are reasonably priced. I usually order the spicy marinated crab but came for lunch this time, and ordered seafood jjamppong, chicken wings, and garlic green beans. It seems that they have hired more people to help out with the restaurant, and I was grateful when the server would come by to help us refill our tea and water. Looking forward to coming back again in the near future!
The area surrounding JJamPPong is maybe a little bit sketch, but the interior is clean and put-together! We ordered the jjamppong (seafood noodles) and the black bean noodles, which were tasty and well-portioned. I thought the sauce could have been a bit saltier or flavorful, but that could just be my own tastebuds. Service was kind and quick! A wonderful Sunday lunch experience
Everything came out hot and flavorful. The compao shrimp was packed with veggies and had the perfect kick. The tofu dish was rich and soft, and the fried rice was cooked just right -- not oily, full of eggs and veggies. The wonton soup was super comforting. Also first time trying the Raw marinated crab and it was very good also the service was amazing. Portions are generous, the food tastes fresh, and it's a solid place to come with family or friends. Cozy, casual vibe -- definitely a spot I'd come back to.
What a fun hidden gem in the Mission! I never had raw crab before and totally did not expect something so soft, creamy, and tasty. The spice did kick my butt though so we got some extra rice and lots of water. The jajang mein was solid, not amazing. The sweet and sour pork was good and fried really nicely (not too greasy) - it felt like I was eating protein fries. Great service.
Went over at around 6:45 pm on a Monday and we got a table for 2 immediately. The restaurant is pretty small but the seating isn't too tight and it is a quiet place to get dinner. They have a variety of Korean and Chinese dishes which are unique and also some specialties like the Jjamppong and Spicy Raw Crab. Jjamppong - I had been wanting to try this dish and it was packed with flavor. The spice and tangy flavors came through very strongly, loaded up abundantly with the noodles and mix of seafoods which were all cooked well. Tangsuyuk - I typically really enjoy the Cantonese style of sweet and sour pork and this one was a cool variation of that. It was sweet, sour and a refreshing break from eating the more intense jjamppong. It was different with the pork being fried and the crunchy vegetables. From the generous portion sizes to the flavors, I would definitely come back and try some of their other dishes.
This spot is a hidden gem! You don't usually find many filling and affordable Chinese-Korean places in the city, but this restaurant is one of them. The ambiance is nothing particularly special, but the food is comforting and delicious. Our go-tos are always the jajang mein, tangsuyuk, and crispy garlic beef. Plenty of other good dishes here too, but I highly highly recommend the jajang mein. I've come here often with my family for Sunday lunch and we never have an issue getting a table. Service is fast and the waiters are so nice, always refilling our picked radish. Bonus: they give gummy bears with the bill. Lowkey wanted to gatekeep this place but it deserves so much love !
You know it's not too often you get to try a place that's 5/5 on Yelp, but this place definitely lived up to the rating! First off, we had a big group of nine people, but they were able to accommodate us right away. It was a Saturday night, so we just so happened to get lucky! Also, this restaurant is on Mission St, so expect parking to be a little tough. On to the food! There were a lot of us, so we just ordered tons of dishes, lol, and they were all very tasty! I'd have to say that my favorites were the spicy raw crab, the seafood jjamppong, and the honey walnut shrimp! Literally everything was delicious. As far as service goes, they were kind and attentive. Overall, this was a wonderful meal, and they are definitely worthy of their amazing Yelp rating! read more

JJamPPong is one of my favorite places for Chinese/Korean fusion food. They have the best jjangmyeon. My partner and I really wanted to try the spicy raw crab and we don't think it was worth it. It's pretty pricy with not that many crab pieces - however I would recommend trying it and sharing it with others. The raw crab flavor can get overwhelming after a while. Service is ok. The food came out fast but they didn't check in on us at all. We did want more radish but it was hard to grab their attention. The parking here is also a struggle - you might need to park in the neighborhood nearby. I will be back for the jjangmyeon! read more

One of the only Korean styled Chinese restaurants in the city. I was so happy to find out that they sold gejang. Possibly the only place in the city to have it. The gejang was good. There was plenty of meat and tasted fresh. However, there wasn't roe inside any of the pieces. It was a tolerable amount of spice. The seafood jjamppong was flavorful, and the noodles were cooked well. The fried rice was standard. Fried chicken was moist and super crunchy. Tangsuyuk was good, but a little bit too acidic for me. It's a good place to get introduced to Korean styled Chinese food. Parking is a bit difficult around here but not impossible. read more
Came here on a Saturday night with a friend around 7:30pm and was seated immediately! Parking around here can be tough but there are some in the residential areas. The restaurant is pretty spacious and a very homey feel to it. We ordered the jajangmyeon, salt and pepper fish fillet and the fried chicken. The jajangmyeon sauce was very tasty and filled with lots of meat and veggies. The salt and pepper fish fillet were fried to perfection and seasoned well. It came out piping hot and had a really nice crunch. My favorite was their famous fried chicken. The skin was so crispy yet the inside was tender and moist. I do wish there was a bit more sauce to dip it in but overall the taste was great. I would definitely come back and order the other dishes to try! read more
First time having RAW Crab and wow it is delicious. The spicy sauce they use is so good, even the veggies in it can be eaten with rice. The spicy crab comes with a side of rice and seaweed. This dish is so good that I want to go back now! My friend and I also ordered the JaJangMein and the Double Fried Chicken Wings. The noodles were pretty solid but the wings, not so much. It didn't taste fried and it is supposed to be double fried. I did not know what went wrong there. The flavors were good tho. Service was nice and friendly. read more
It feels as though I seldom get blown away by the flavor of foods at a restaurant however, this spot is truly in another league. I'm talking specifically about the Spicy Raw Crab & the Double Fried Chicken Wings. The Spicy Raw Crab reminds me of food in Korea- truly spicy and the crab tastes fresh. That sauce is so addicting, you could eat it with just rice on the side and I even smothered my chicken wings with it. The Double Fried Chicken Wings has so much flavor, all I could do is smh upon eating it. It reminds me of San Tung's wings but delicious in it's own way. These two dishes are impeccable. Between the Jajangmein and the Jjamppong, I'd recommend getting the Jjamppong because the black bean noodles tasted pretty mid. The Jjamppong is more flavorful and has a great level of spiciness to it. Service isn't perfect and quite slow but I honestly don't care b/c they are all incredibly friendly/sweet and the food is that good. Highly recommend this spot, you can thank me later :) read more
This place popped off after TikTok videos highlighted the marinated raw crab so we decided to give it a try! It's decent food but didn't find it to be too special hence the 3 stars. Service was good and price was as expected. Good for large groups too since there's a round table. read more
tl;dr Spicy raw crab is a must try if you can handle some spice. Sweet pork and jjajamyeon were tasty but not as impressive. My friends and I came on a Thursday a little before 1 pm right before the Christmas week, so the restaurant was already pretty busy since many corporate workers like ourselves were already off for the holidays. Because of this, we had to wait about 10 minutes for our table of 3. The restaurant itself is not the hugest. One of my friends immediately knew she wanted the spicy raw crab, as she hadn't had a party that wanted to share it with her before. We also ordered two of the Special dishes, the sweet dried pork and black bean noodles. The raw crab comes with a bowl of rice and package of snacking seaweed. Highly recommend using the clear gloves with the raw crab as to have to squeeze it to get the smooth meat out. Very interesting experience! There wasn't anything bad about the pork dish or black bean noodles. I just felt that they were a little more standard or not quite my taste. Very well prepared, to be sure, but they didn't have that same wow factor. read more
tldr; one of the few places to get korean raw crab in the city and a must-try here! price: ~$30/pp recs: spicy raw crab JJamPPong is the kind of restaurant where you eat in silence because everything is just so good. Portion sizes for what we got were great, and we even got free tea. - Spicy Raw Crab: Comes with six crab halves, each of which has a good portion of meat. LOTS of spicy sauce. Rice and seaweed are also included. - Fried Chicken: The honey chili comes with a dusting of parmesan. Not incredibly crunchy but came out piping hot and was satisfying. Would be curious to try the garlic wings next. I think the only mistake we made was ordering two large dishes with a sweet and spicy flavor profile -- the raw crab is smothered in spicy sauce and would pair better with another dish with a different flavor profile. Ordering fried chicken and raw crab together is also great because you can just use the provided plastic gloves for both the entire time. :-) read more
Wow. Let me just say: incredible service. We came around 7:45PM and were greeted and seated immediately in this quaint mom and pop shop. It felt very homely, like someone's mom was cooking up dinner for me. We ordered the spicy raw crab, tangsuyuk, jajangmyeon, and seafood jjamppong for 4 people. Everything came out pretty quickly to our surprise since the restaurant was full of patrons. They even gave us an extra bowl to discard or raw crab & gloves to use to eat. As we were wrapping up, servers immediately took our crab bits & gloves away to clear our table! I think this has been one of my favorite meals I've eaten since moving to San Francisco. The crab was so juicy and tender. Really easy to squeeze out of the shell! Definitely put it in a seaweed wrap -- straight up fire. Second fave was the tangsuyuk. Great crispy texture and flavorful sweet & sour sauce that had a nice consistency -- not to liquidy, and not congealed. Jjamppong and jajangmyeon we're both good too, but not as noteworthy as the two other dishes that blew me away. Amazing food and amazing service all around! I literally cannot stop thinking about that seaweed wrap. read more

Worth the hype! At least I saw this place on TikTok and had to try their spicy raw crab. The crab was the first to come out. It came with a bowl of rice, a seaweed pack, and a box of gloves. Ours had 7 crab halves. Some halves were smaller than others but I thought it was a good amount of crab for the price! The crab was spicy too! The heat kept building but it was so good plus fun to eat. I also got their jjamppong. I never had a Korean soup like this before. It was really tasty. The flavors were less in your face than other Korean soups. I liked how mild it was. It was refreshing in a way and soothing in a way. The broth was less seafood than I expected as well. There was enough toppings and noodles in it too. Service was great too. Everyone was kind and helpful. The service was quick and the food didn't take long to come out. I'm really glad I got to try this place and can't wait to try their other dishes. read more

A really nice restaurant for some Korean food! We came on New Year's Eve and it wasn't too crowded, so we were able to get seated immediately. I came mainly for the spicy raw marinated crab, which I was really excited to try. Once seated, we were given kimchi and radish which were both great. We ordered the crab, jajangmyeon, and spicy garlic fried chicken. The crab was really good, despite being a small portion for the price. It also came with rice and seaweed which all paired really well together. I think I actually liked the jajangmyeon more though -- the noodles were probably some of the best I've had in terms of texture and taste. The sauce was also super flavorful and coated the noodles nicely. The spicy garlic fried chicken was decent -- it wasn't really crispy at all, but the sauce it came with was delicious. Overall, this is definitely a great spot for Korean food but I wouldn't say it's one of the best I've had. I'm glad I got to try the crab though! Certainly a unique item. read more
In all honesty, I understand why people rated this restaurant 5 stars. I almost did as well but honestly there are 1 thing that made me hesitate-the batter. Both batter on the chicken wing and crispy beef had the same issues. Too moist and not crispy enough. The flavor is good but just that little bit of crispiness. If you have been to another very well known restaurant in sunset, you will know what I meant. Nonetheless, I'm very impressed with this place. Crispy beef was very flavorful, I've had this at another restaurant in Los Altos and it was better but not by much. Twice cook crispy chicken wing - again, flavor was fine. It's the batter. Fried rice - not bad. I've had others which taste better and I noticed it didn't use MSG or not as much. Jjamppong - I have to say it's pretty good but not as strong flavor as the Korean one. It's spicier though. But regular spicy is ok. Most people should be able to handle it easily. read more

This is a family own restaurant, so please be patient with them since they did get more popular after tik tok! The fried chicken was pretty crispy. Clams were yummy, but nothing out of the ordinary. Lots of parking in front or around the block in the neighborhood. On a busy street- Mission. Saw this place on TikTok and it looked really good, so I had to try it! Went in at noon on a Sunday and got seated immediately. It wasn't that busy and there were a a lot of tables available. It was a clean place. There were a lot of options! I would say their cuisine is Korean and Chinese. We wanted to get what they were known for, so we tried a lot of the specials. We ordered 4 dishes plus rice and that was more than enough for 2. We had to take a lot home. Seafood Jjamppong: Had a lot of seafood. We got it mildly spicy, but you can get it spicier if you want. The noodles were egg noodles and had a spaghetti like texture. I liked this one a lot! Double Fried Chicken Wings(Garlic sauce): They we're a bit too sweet for me. Surprisingly it wasn't that crispy because it had a lot of sauce. It tasted better the next day after putting it through an airfryer. Jajang Mein: Not bad. A simple recipe. Spicy Raw Crab: I saw this on TikTok and I've never tried raw crab before. It was freaking amazingly good! It was pretty spicy. Came with rice and seaweed. I put a spoonful of rice and raw crab with vegetables on the seaweed and ate it like a wrap. Supperrrrr yummy! My favorite dish I tried! Overall, it's a decent place to eat Korean food with great service! Next time I want to try the Chinese food. read more
This place was delicious! I was happy with every item I ordered. I ordered the spicy raw crab, pot stickers, tangsuyuk, and the jajangmyeon. My favorite item was definitely spicy raw crab. The balance of spicy, savory and sweet was spot on. It was so refreshing! They served it with a bowl of rice and seaweed which was perfect to complement the fresh crab. I also ordered the tangsuyuk and was pleasantly surprised by how light and crispy the batter was. The noodle sauce was smooth and savory. The pot stickers were light and crunchy. I was just so happy with every dish and felt like they nailed every flavor profile I look for when I try these dishes. Overall very happy with this place :) read more
I've been looking for raw crab and this place was recommended ! I'm glad I checked this place out because the food was great, fast service and very convient. I ordered the spicy raw crab ($28) and it came with 2 crabs, rice and seaweed. It was very spicy but also delicious! The server also gave us a box of gloves to avoid messy hands. I also ordered the Jajiang Mein ($14). The noodles were pretty thought and well sauced. It was mixed with zucchini and onions. Our crab arrived very fast and we were served with tea. I asked for water upon request. I was in and out of the restaurant very quickly. If you get the food to go, they machine seal it. That was amazing because we were on a motorcycle so we avoided spillage. Can't wait to come back for other items on the menu! read more

Came here on a Saturday around noon and was first on the waitlist. The place is small, so prepare to wait for a table during peak hours. ORDERED (for 3 ppl): Spicy Raw Crab - the best dish we ordered! SO FLAVORFUL and would come back for this dish. Comes with rice and a pack of seaweed. Gloves is provided. Garlic Eggplant - good veggie dish! This was my friend's 2nd favorite dish we ordered. Jajang Mein - solid dish, but don't feel the need to order again if I come back. Double fried chicken wings w/ garlic sauce - delicious wings, not that crispy, but the sauce was so good!! OVERALL, I would come back again! Service is fast, portions are big, and they packed our leftovers. read more
By far one of my new favorite Korean places to eat at! My mom suddenly wanted to eat spicy raw crab and I have been wanting to try this place for a while. The spicy raw crab is DELICIOUS. The crab marinade is sooo tasty! It's spicy and sweet with vegetables to add to the texture and flavor. The crab itself was super buttery. I was afraid at first, but after a taste, it's one of the best things I've tried. They give a bowl of rice, a bag of seaweed, and box of gloves for you to use. The double fried chicken is also definitely a star of the show-- another one of my new favorites. The chicken isn't as crispy as other places, but this honestly doesn't bother me at all because the flavor on point. The chicken is coated in a sticky garlic sauce, which has a strong and pleasant garlic taste. It's tender and not oily! The jajang mein and jjamppong are also good stable choices. The jajang mein has a great black bean flavor with lots of vegetables. The jjamppong had lots of veggies, which I absolutely love. It's not crazy spicy, so you can actually taste the soup base. The seafood jjamppong also comes with a small half of a crab. A little far from me, but worth the trip! read more

Wow this is a must try place!! Super good food and amazing service Food: I highly recommend the spicy raw crab, jajangmyeon, jjamppong, and deep fried green beans. The spicy raw crab was super flavorful and tasty and pretty spicy imo so be careful if u don't have a high spice tolerance lol. The crab came with rice and seaweed and I highly recommend combining them all to make a wrap. The jajangmyeon was my personal favorite while my bf loved the jjamppong soup. The portions are pretty big here and they package/seal the food nicely for you to bring home. Ambience: pretty big restaurant with some really big tables so I can def see a large party or family coming here Service: really nice service and the food came out super fast. First, I will say parking was a little bit of a pain. The service was nice, the workers were respectful and kind, and made me and my partner feel comfortable, which is always nice. The sweet and sour pork was interesting and different, it was good, but maybe could have used a little more sauce? Or something else. The chicken wings were a solid 3.5/5. Definitely good, but could've been crispier and more spicy/chili flavor. Overall, it was a solid experience and a nice place with nice people. Give them a try! read more
JJamPPong is a cute little authentic spot with delicious, flavorful food and exceptional, homey service. The people here aim to please. They make you feel right at home and make sure that everything is to your liking. It's clear that those who work here take pride in their service and food. And how's the quality of the food? TLDR: So many fermented, lively, spicy, tasty flavors. Make sure that you get the raw crab. Wow, I've never had anything like it. And I mean that in a great way. The crab lived up to the hype. It's not by chance that this dish presented itself at every table in the restaurant. The Mongolian beef? Sautéed nicely with onions and topped with a healthy abundance of fresh, dry spices. Wasn't overly sauced liked most Mongolian beef meals. I loved it. JJamPPong is an original. Definitely worthy of 5 stars. read more
You been watching them eat crab with plastic gloves on K-dramas? Missing the crab poke from Hawaii? Finally, there's a place right here where the restaurant gets like 90 crabs, cleans them and puts the stuff on it for you to eat it. Every table in the restaurant had an order of crab. It's amazing- better than any raw crab I've had in Kauai. This is a darling Korean Chinese restaurant, the woman is Korean and the husband of Chinese Korean. Their menu reflects those fusion Chinese Korean dishes I keep seeing in my TV shows, and it's amazing. In addition to the crab, we enjoyed the tangsuyuk, the jjamppong, and the green beans. Their kimchi is very fresh and their daikon has a touch of jalapeño. When they bring out the soju, they shake it up for you. Their portions are generous so go with your friends. read more
My brother and I came here for dinner especially for spicy raw crab. It usually hard to find spicy raw crab in the city. It comes with rice and seaweed. They provide a box of gloves since it can get messy and the crab is saucy. The crab is spicy but really good. You can mix the crab with the rice and seaweed which is a good combo. We also order black bean noodle, deep fried eggplant, and double fried chicken wings. Since the fried chicken wings has different flavor, we got the honey chill sauce flavor. All of these dishes are also great. They are very tasty and they give you plenty. You can actually can get full. Friendly staffs and quick service. This place quite small so expect to wait especially if you come during prime lunch or prime dinner. Even though we come before 6 pm, it started to get pack after 6 pm even though we came on a Wednesday. Street parking is tough around here. Definitely will come back here again read more
Been seeing this place all over TikTok and gave it a try for lunch on my birthday with my fiancé. Came in around 4pm and we were the second party inside. As time went by, many groups started to trickle in. It is along mission (near Geneva) so be prepared for street/meter parking. Double fried chicken - crispy and saucey. Reminds me of San Tung chicken but it's own twist. Very good! Spicy Raw Crab - the reason why we came! It has a nice kick to it and an interesting texture. I enjoyed it and it is something to give a try when coming here. It comes with rice and seaweed. Black bean noodle - can never go wrong! Super yummy. We were going to opt for the honey walnut shrimp but didn't want to over do it. The portions are good for 2-3 people I would say per entree. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. Food comes out pretty fast too! I feel like we would have had a different experience if it was crowded, so I am glad we came before dinner on a Monday. read more

Seafood jjampong: spicy seafood noodle soup with thick noodles, shrimp, mussel, crab, and various veggies. Warning: broth is fairly spicy so wouldn't recommend for people who can't handle spicy! Jajangmyeon: noodles with thick black bean sauce, diced pork, and veggies. Unique and comforting Korean dish that I always love getting! Double fried chicken wings: crispy, flavorful chicken wings. Pretty self explanatory. Comes in different flavors and with 12 pieces. SERVICE: Staff was attentive and owner was kind to accommodate our large group by putting two tables together by the door. ATMOSPHERE: Small, hole in the wall restaurant vibes. PARKING: Typical SF street parking available nearby. Headed to this restaurant for dinner per my friend's recommendation. We had a group of 6 dining on a Saturday night, so we had to wait a bit for a table, but we were happy to do so since the owner continued to check in on us to reassure that we'd have a table soon. The food came out quickly and every dish was delicious! We were bummed because the spicy raw crab was already sold out for the day, so we'll have to come back earlier next time. You would miss this place if you're not looking for it. Food was really good. It's cozy inside, and there are tables for families/larger parties. Their jjampong was also really good (didn't get a photo of it). They advertise their soft shell crab, which looks really good. Maybe we'll try it out next time. Definitely a great find! read more
This is a place I recommend coming with a bigger group since there's a lot of food you're going to want to try and is a great family style restaurant. I came around noon on a Sunday and we got seated right away luckily. They had a lot of tables for such a small restaurant. The only con of this place is that parking is tough to find in the area. We ordered the jajangmyeon and double fried chicken wings. Chicken was huge portion of at least six wings and six drummets. Jajangmyeon was a decent size but my boyfriend said he could have easily finished the whole bowl on his own. Everything was really flavorful and delicious. They even gave us some sugar bowl brownie bites as the to go dessert (this is a step up from the fortune cookies and mints I would get). Next time I come, I will definitely want to try the raw marinated crab and jjampong but alas this was more than filling for two people. We had to get take out boxes for the rest of our chicken. read more

Local family owned Korean Chinese restaurant that is clean with tables spaced out, simple menu, KPOP on the tele, weekday lunch plate specials and excellent service. We ordered for lunch and took leftovers home for dinner: - Double Fried Chicken Wings and Drummettes that comes in a choice of 3 flavors: Plain, Sweet & Spicy, and Garlic. I've been looking for a place that serves raw spicy crab after seeing places in LA and seeing this featured in a few kdramas. So happy that there's one right here in the bay! Definitely a MUST TRY! Finally there is a place in sf for korean raw marinated crab. Jjamppong is also a great noodle house as thier noodles seemed homemade and thick and chewy. Perfectly qq. To start off the raw crab was unlike anything else I've experienced. It was creamy and pudding-like in consistency but all the crab flavor was there. It was definitely a threat to eat over rice and seaweed which is both included when you order the crab dish. Not to mention the marinade is so delicious that our group continued to dip other foods into throughout our meal. The seafood jjampppng had great broth and a good amount of seafood, split across five people each of us were able to get a bite of seafood in our bowls. The black bean noodles were on the sweet side but personally I enjoyed them more this way. Although some people at the table wished for a deeper beany flavor I thought it was still delicious. Again the noodles were cooked perfectly to where they were still chewy and bouncy. Finally the sweet and sour shrimp was a hit as the portion was pretty large and the shrimps themselves were massive, an easy two biter! The sauce was more on the sweet side that followed up with a sour bite after. Dipped in the crab marinade you couldn't have asked for a better bite! I've visited this place several times now, and each time, it's been a wonderful experience. The food is amazing, the customer service is excellent, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The owners are incredibly welcoming and sweet! Most of the time I've stopped by, there hasn't been a wait, but I do usually come on a weekday, which may be why. Do be aware that parking is terrible and extremely hard to find, so if you can, it's best not to drive. Food: Spicy Raw Crab (10/10): I don't have another place to compare it to, but every time I've had it, it's been delicious! The seasoning is quite spicy but has good flavor. The crab hasn't been fishy at all, which is a good sign of freshness. This is a must-try if you're not put off by raw seafood or mushy/slimy textures. It comes with around 6 halves, a bowl of rice, and seaweed. Seafood Jjamppong (10/10): The broth is slightly spicy and seafood-y. It comes with a variety of seafood, including squid, shrimp, and crab. There are also veggies that help balance out the dish. The noodles are chewy and come in a large portion! Jajang Mein (10/10): I'm not a big fan of jajang mein in general, so take this review with a grain of salt (or seriously?). I was pleasantly surprised when I liked it. The sauce isn't too thick and is savory with a hint of sweetness rather than a strong black bean sauce flavor. I just want to emphasize that the owners and workers here are great, which makes the place even better. If you want delicious food AND good service, come here! read more

I'm always hesitant to try restaurants that have a mix of different cuisines, but JJamPPong was SO good. Like others have mentioned, their menu consists of Chinese and Korean food. However, when I saw a photo of their spicy raw crab, I knew I had to try it. Parking was a little difficult in this area but after our meal, it's worth it! We ordered the spicy raw rab, regular jjamppong with seafood and pork, and the double fried chicken wings with garlic sauce. They also served us kimchi and pickled radish as a side/banchan. The spicy raw crab was my favorite, it comes with a side of rice topped with seaweed. For $25, you get an entire plate of blue crabs which was more than enough for two people. We boyfriend really enjoyed the jjamppong and the flavor was good. Both the crab and jjamppong definitely had a spicy kick! The chicken wings with garlic sauce were also delicious, the wings were huge and my boyfriend said that it reminded him of San Tung. Our meal was super comforting and filling and I definitely will be back for more spicy crab and to try some of their other dishes! read more
