Took my mom and brother here since it's down the street from my brothers school and my mom wanted to try it out. The food is actually fresh and doesn't taste like it's been sitting under a heat lamp. They have sesame seed balls which are my favorite. The sushi tastes like actual sushi and not a cheap version of it. The fruit is also and delicious. The only downside is the service. Not sure if they are understaffed but both times that I've been here, our drinks don't come to the table until we are almost finished eating our first plate of food. Also to get a refill was a mission. Again, it might have been that they were understaffed and it seemed pretty packed for a Friday afternoon. Would definitely come here for lunch again. I have been to this buffet a few years ago but I'm not sure if they've changed their name since. This is a fairly decent buffet. We had a huge party of 24-30 people today and the bill came out to be around $600 (so I'd say dinner is about $22-$25 per person). Our go to buffet (Ichiban in El Monte) closed down so we opted for this spot. The place has been run down since the last time I came. They had leaks in every room from the rain tonight. Also, my aunt slipped and fell while walking into the hallway towards our private room. The floors were not slippery from the rain (it had not rained yet), the floors were lopsided as well as extremely slippery overall. The last time I was here, I distinctly remember the floors being extremely slippery. That's really all I remembered about this place. I believe it's from the employees waxing the floors, or not cleaning them at all (built up from oils). This is extremely dangerous OBVI because had it been anyone else, it would've became a 0-100 situation really quick (we had a lot of elderly people in our party). If you guys are thinking she was being reckless, NOPE. At one point, I merely got up from my table to get thirds... I slipped and almost did a split. Luckily my aunt caught me! The service was pretty good, our server was spot on with all of our drinks. They came by often to take away our plates. The endless options to choose from is my definite fave! They have literally everything here, which is a lot more than most other Asian buffets. Did I mention there was a bird frantically flying around for freedom in our private room? The food is pretty hit and miss, but there are TONS of options. I found a few dishes I liked and many that I absolutely would never come near with a 10-foot pole. The number 1 dish seems to be the king crab legs. I do not recommend these, as once they were out of their shells they smelled horrible and were past their prime -- at least on the day that I went. I had a good experience with the following: Garlic Shrimp, Chinese Greens (Gai Lan), Fried Rice, Shrimp Cocktail, Mackerel Nigiri, Roasted Duck, Ice Cream (this doesn't really count ha) Banana Pudding (they use almond cookies instead of nilla wafers -- loved it) The things that were pretty awful: King Crab Legs smelled horrible when the shell was removed, Sushi Rolls (I tried 3 and all were mushy), Salmon Sashimi, Baked Clams, All deserts in the fridge, Siu Mai (this needs to be fresh or they get soggy), Just skip the back corner with the heat lamps entirely, unless you see something fresh come out. It's pretty dirty and very busy. In terms of the sushi rolls, which look tasty and well presented, I think there are simply too many of them put out at a time -- or they are made ahead of time. The rice was super soggy and not well wrapped, and almost all tongs I used were tarnished with 2 or 3 other dishes in the sushi area. The crab legs actually include claw, which is nice. Don't be fooled by the salt and pepper crab. It tasted old and funky. Stick with the cold crab by the sashimi. We had a group of 29 adults + 4 kids. These classy blokes charged incremental prices for the kids who are 11, 9, 7, 6. Seriously, they have it down to a science. I've never seen such aholeness. It wasn't simply kids under age# @ $#.##. The two drink fetcher/plate removers could not keep straight who had presented coupons from our group. They would bark at people with an accusatory tone. Flat out rude. Then at the end the two drink fetcher/plate removers both came up to me twice EACH with a copy of the receipt which I already had from settling our tab, parroting "the tip is not included". I was of the mind to leave nothing. Tip not being included was already disclosed when we reserved for our group. They have a wide selection of food but quality is low. Quantity over quality. Food=3/10. The place smells unpleasant. The drains beneath the cold bars are mildew infested. The floors sticky. Restrooms could desperately use some disinfectant. Mongolian Bar - we all know that Genghis Khan invented the Mongolian bbq In the 13th century after returning home from battle hungry AF and his wife's stove wasn't working. He quickly grabbed two sticks and a flat skillet and put his wife Margaret to work. Well my friends im here to tell you that Marge and GK would be so proud of the value and quality of this bar. 3. Chinese Food - we then head to China and come across a delight known as the garlic shrimp. Complex in flavor simple in its name the garlic shrimp reminded me of what buffet heaven but me like. I began to eat and before I knew it I was 85 shrimp in. I've been burping garlic for three days but I don't do it, who will? Overall the experience was an amazing journey that also included stops in Italy for the pizza bar, middle American for some ham, Poland for some kielbasa, and a walk past the salad bar because I don't need any negativity in my life. It also reunited me with an old friend. A voice that is telling me to go back today. To find all the weight that I lost! Another Typical Chinese Buffet. $9.99 for lunch. They took over the old Charlie Brown location. They're located next to the 60 fwy, Motel 6, & Chevron Gas Station. Parking is plentiful. This place is more of a 3.5 stars but I'll give it a 4. I've only been here during lunch time & it does get pretty crowded. Best to come early. The salads, cold seafood & meats, fruits and desserts are put together in one area. Sushi & Nigiri is right behind it. There's a Habachi section. They get pretty busy. You'll find the usual items served in these types of Buffets. Fried rice, stir fried noodles, veggies, crawfish, clams, dim sum items, fried chicken wings, plantains, & soups. Dessert section has a chocolate fountain, cookies, cold dessert soups, minardise, flan, & cream puffs. Overall food tastes decent. Service isn't too bad. Restrooms are pretty clean.
