If your favorite breakfast place has a long waiting list, COME HERE! My little sister and I wanted something savory and shared the Baja Shrimp & Chicken Apple Sausage Skillet which looked like the tastiest order on the menu. It had home fries on the bottom, fried eggs, and topped with a bunch of veggies, shrimp, cheese, and a side of guacamole. The chicken apple sausage had pork which I don't eat so we substituted for turkey sausage! Our skillet was big and my sister and I were not able to finish it even though we were sharing. The cilantro and roasted corn made it soo tasty, that was the best part. Our skillet also came with a side of order of choice including toast, muffin, biscuit, or cornbread. I ordered wheat toast and it was warm and buttery. My older sister wanted something sweet so she got the 2 Super Jack Pancakes topped with powdered sugar, whipped cream, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. I had a bite and the pancakes were warm and fluffy. For drinks we ordered a chocolate shake and an oat milk latte. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to friends and family. The lady came back with our drinks and I had ordered a coffee and was adding the creamer and sugar, I didn't even finished prepping my coffee and look over and our waitress was bringing our food out I kid you not it took like four minutes for our food to be serve after we ordered it was so delicious and on point I felt the need to come here to tell everyone this is a place you definitely wanna try out. Hadn't been here in quite a while. Over a decade. My boys had the day off so we decided on grabbing breakfast. They have great deals and generous portions. I tried their Santa Fe skillet. Very good. I would pass this establishment and think it would be interesting to try because they don't have other locations in my area (OC/LA) and I finally did! We got the DIRTY BERRY AND BANANA. Rancho Cucamonga, CA A return visit early Saturday morning with the same friend about a month or so later and we could not sit outside on their patio because every single table covered with vinyl table cloth was visibly dirty and had not been cleaned, so we sat inside which was not nearly as nice on a crowded Saturday morning. Also, the light bite menu (reasonable portions red menu) I learned is only available on the weekdays. I really dislike restrictions on menus as to what days to order and would not have come on a Saturday had I known, as everything else on their menu for the most part is gigantic portions. We ended up splitting something, a veggie omelette which was ok. The Blueberry Muffin I wanted to come back for, was overly sweet....go figure! This visit was not as great as the previous time. I am not as eager to return unless a "big maybe" on a weekday. The asked if we would be willing to sit in 3 back to back booths to be seated sooner, otherwise we'd have to wait longer for a group table. We took the booths. Service was ok..did have ro wait for waitress a while in between service. Food order took a longtime. A few items were incorrect and mine never showed. Everyone else got there order n started eating. When waitress came out she thought the wrong order item was mine, I said no and asked if I wanted it a few times and I said no I wanted the sandwich I ordered. Turkey. When it came out a few minutes later, it looked like it was quickly slapped together. 3 pieces of turkey folded in half, a gob of mayo on the bread. Which I didn't want any to begin wi.. ends of cut up romaine lettuce squished in there and semi ripe Avocado put in. I was starving and the rest of the family was already eating. Idk who this jack guy is, but if you know him tell Him good job. The food is delicious and presented well and a good amount of it. Today makes 14 days since getting food poisoning from Kickback Jack. It was the boil eggs. I asked for freshly boil eggs, and I knew something was wrong with those eggs. The bacon has BLACK residue from the dirty grill. I showed the manager, and she said the bacon is made to order. I said the bacon was cooked on a dirty grill. Not planning on going back there. The tables, chairs and floor are sticky, and dirty. Zero Star is not an option, but it should be. This place just needs to be reported to the health department. It is not safe to eat at. read more

Such good food!! Amazing staff and friendly service. They have so many options for the breakfast lovers. We have always done the family platter which has a great variety and big portions. We needed breakfast since the hotel wasn't serving this, morning and Yelp brought us, here. What a pleasant surprise! I had the chicken fried steak, and it was possibly the best I ever had. Crispy on the outside and, nice an juicy on the j side, with the perfect amount of sausage gravy on top. Even the gravy was well seasoned! Then I noticed the grits on the menu and I was in heaven! Food, was great, service, was outstanding, and overall a, wonderful experience. Next time we're in town (which will be Christmas week) we will certainly come back here! We needed to have accommodations and they made it seem like it was such a problem. Went here for Mother's Day so the service was a bit slow but I can't blame them, there was a waiting line. I had an omelette with flapjacks and I will say the portions are huge! I totally get both sides of the restaurant closure issue in regards to Covid. It takes balls the size of basketballs and wads of cash to successfully open a restaurant in the best of times. Throw in Covid and the risk of closing is too scary to contemplate. For me, personally, I'm scared of this virus and do not want to to dine indoors. I prefer cooking at home or ordering takeout. There are times I'll eat outdoors and have appreciated the restaurants that set up outdoor dining. Kick Back Jacks has decided to continue offering indoor dining in defiance of the governors orders. I would say that that is their right but it actually is not. They do not have the right to violate these orders, the same way Disneyland and movie theaters and Dodgers Stadium cannot reopen. When the local sheriff's have gone public stating that they will not do anything about bars and restaurants staying open then there are no teeth behind the orders. The waitresses are in masks, the tables are spaced out. There is hand sanitizer everywhere. There are shields in place at the cash register. I will do my best to support local eateries by ordering takeout but I will not dine indoors until I feel safe, governors orders or not. The inequality of the state and local policies are laughable. Those fortunate enough to have patios or large parking lots are doing much better than those who don't. OK, here is my review. I ordered their lunch special 1/2 sandwich, cup of soup and fries. Everything was freshly prepared and tasty. I was not a fan of the water soaked sliced turkey but the soup, fries and sandwich were quite good. A very decent value and large portions. read more

Went here on Sunday with my family. There were 12 of us. My uncle called the day before to make sure they could accommodate us all at the same table. He was told yes, but when we arrived we were not seated together. When asked if we could all be seated together the host informed us that the owner doesn't like to do that. When the owner arrived and came to the table we asked if we could be seated together he stated these he couldn't do that because his banquet room is used for a waiting room for customer waiting to be seated. He then went on to tell us that the 2 tables he pushed together could comfortably seat 10 but it barely sat 8 comfortably with the remaining 4 of our group sitting in a booth. He continued talking saying that he's been in the business 25 years and I replied that our family had been there longer, he then said pre-Covid he could accommodate larger groups at tables but converted everything to booths. When the food came there were so many inconsistencies. My mom and I ordered avocado toast her bread was more toasted then mine. The avocado was smashed on my bread so much so that it con-caved my bread. I say bread because it was not even lightly toasted. My daughter order a bacon patty melt with grilled onions, the onions were barely heated through. We tried calling someone over and each time we were ignored. The server only came by to refill coffees and never asked how everything was. Lastly when we got the bill each check (we asked for separate checks) had an 18% gratuity. I understand that large group automatically get charged gratuity, but we were sat as 2 smaller groups not one large group. My family and I used to frequent this place often, but we will most likely never go there again. This is a casual breakfast place that delivers huge portions in a hurry. When you walk up, if there are a lot of people waiting, don't get discouraged. We only waited about 15 minutes and there were several parties in front of us. I had the Eggs Benedict and shared a cinnamon roll (highly recommend) with my brother. They warm up the cinnamon roll, and it's a massive undertaking. They also are quick to fill up your water and top off your coffee. Our server was such a delight. She was friendly and funny. She seemed to be enjoying herself and still rushing around to take care of her tables. We never felt rushed or like we couldn't get her attention.
