My husband and I enjoy eating the weekend brunch here in Cypress. Always Cypress residents have their brunch at Kimmie's at Bank of America mall. Their hash brown and french fries are so good. If you choose the biscuit w omelette, you will be happy. They open very early and close at 3 p.m. The space in Cypress is a little small so it takes more time to get the table. Kimmies is a great place for comfort food. A little smaller than Denny's or IHOP and you'll pay a little bit more, but for the decor and quality of food it's worth it. Bring your conversation with you, it took us 41 minutes (from the time we checked in on Yelp) to get our food. Had the seasonal pumpkin pancakes combo and my GF had eggs Benedict. Both dishes were really good. Especially the bacon which wasn't super crispy, but was very thick slices. My GF asked for a Togo box, not her usual thing. My friend and I started off with the coffee and I loved how our waitress was so attentive towards us. I was so glad to find that there's a Kimmie's in Cypress. I've eaten at their Fullerton, Brea & Orange locations. Every one of their restaurants are consistently good & I'm happy to experience that the Cypress location was excellent, too. We had the country style French toast, Kimmie's style patty & eggs, and chicken fried steak. All tasted delicious like the other locations. Service was warm, large parking lot, indoor & outdoor seating. Waited ~30 minutes before food came out but it was fine considering all the restaurants are adjusting back to business since the pandemic regulations and it was a busy Saturday. First I'd like to say I've been to Kimmie's several times and have always enjoyed my food. We've referred people here and they too have enjoyed their food. I don't like writing this review but my last visit didn't sit well with me. My husband and I went in for lunch last week. He had a Cobb Salad which he liked and I had the Beef Dip with au jus. My meal was extremely salty to he point I couldn't eat it. I tried a few bites but immediately needed to drink water to drown out the salty taste. When someone came by and asked us how our meal was, I let her know that it was very salty, to that she asked if that was good or bad thing. I told her it was bad and that I couldn't even eat it, to that she politely replied "sorry about that." As a senior, I don't eat a lot of meat so I was looking forward to this meal. She didn't offer any resolution when I told her it was too salty, she just apologized. I suppose I should have asked her to take it back, but, I think she could have also asked if I wanted it taken back or, a new plate considering I was only able to eat a few bites. Decided to take my wife out to breakfast this morning and stopped by Kimmies. I had the blueberry pancakes with eggs over medium and turkey sausage. The blueberries on the pancakes tasted like they came out of a can from the .99 Cent store. The eggs were way over cooked and the turkey sausage look like it just came out of the freezer and tasted even worse. The service was unremarkable as you could tell the girls were not thrilled about being there, and we listened to the music from Mexico, come out of the kitchen and fill the entire dining room while we ate. I don't know how you can screw up breakfast but you did and it was $55 to boot. Needless to say, this is the last time that I will come to this place. I hope that they go out of business soon. We came here once and the service and food was great. Came here again, and it was quite the opposite. The staff were quite rude, very transactional. The food was bland and did not taste like it was made with love. Once the food came, they never checked on us. For example, they brought Tapitio and I wanted Cholula. But because they never came back, I had to get up and grab it myself before my food got cold. Additionally, when we asked for half things in general they were rude and made us feel guilty for asking. We have visited a couple of their locations over the years but this larger Cypress location has definitely become our go to. Sunday is the one day a week where we delve out and indulge ourselves with a quality breakfast and Kimmie's is definitely one of those places where we continue to come back to. They offer a large and varied menu consisting of scrambles, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, french toast (regular, cinnamon roll and crunchy varieties) as well as mexican style breakfast items such as huevos rancheros, breakfast tacos and quesadillas and much more. They also offer a plethora of lunch items such as soups, sandwiches, salads and burgers. I have only been here for lunch on one occasion but the turkey club wrap I had was large and filling and had good flavor and was reasonably priced and was definitely a good choice. My wife also loved her veggie sandwich on squaw and did not leave disappointed. All items outside of the salads come with fries, potato salad or fresh fruit as well. I am also definitely a fan of their breakfast and have had the scrambler twice a well as the cinnamon roll french toast and was not disappointed in either dish. The service here is typically quite quick and attentive and the layout is nice with perfectly spread out tables and a very country like interior theme. I definitely recommend getting here prior to 9am if you do not want to wait for breakfast/brunch as this location much like all the others gets extremely busy during peak hours. As a teenager living in Cypress I actually ate here at this address before except back then it was "Boys Burgers" which was one of those greasy 100+ menu item type of places that was cheap, dirty, and with huge portions. If you haven't checked this place out, be sure to do so! We have glanced at the Fullerton location for quite some time, but never made it around to checking it out. They have early hours, or we would forget, and the location looks tiny. From what I hear, they all pretty much are. I have heard that it gets quite busy all the time, and after our morning walk with a friend, we were looking for a place to eat. My husband remembered about this new location and suggested it. While it sounded great, I was still iffy considering that it was now after 10:00. We decided to try it anyways. There are now six locations here, and hopefully continuing to grow. Fullerton, Orange, Brea, Placentia, now Cypress, and a random one in Reno. By the time we got back to the car and got there it was near 10:30. We were expecting a wait, but had heard from other people's experiences that they seem to move quick despite there being a wait. We were lucky. There were surprisingly a lot of seats! Good luck? Maybe. It could also be the fact that it was a Saturday and not a Sunday where it is usually worse. We were seated and greeted immediately. Drinks were served quickly and the menu while fairly simple, had a lot of things on it that sounded great. I already found a few more items to try so we are going to have to make a trip back real soon. I went with the fried egg, ham, and cheese sandwich with a side of fresh fruit. I wanted to keep it fairly light. I decided to go with wheat bread but later heard them mention squaw bread which made me sad. I guess I will keep a mental note for next time. Came here yesterday for breakfast. Put my name down for a table of 2. Hostess proceeded to seat three parties that arrived after me. I asked her why this happened. She said they have bigger parties. That wasn't true because she sat two tables with one person. There was a table open so I asked why we can't sit there. She said oh hold on let me check. Then tells me my table will be ready in a couple minutes (even though there is an open table right in front). Couple minutes passed, still not seated. A new party of 3 walks up and she sits them ahead of my party at the open table. We wait another 5 minutes before finally being sat. Overall waiter about 20 minutes when 4 parties were sat that arrived after me. I understand saving table space when parties are on a wait list. But they're basically holding tables open for larger parties that have not even arrived yet. There is no guarantee another larger party is going to show up. So the smaller parties of 2 are left waiting way longer than they should have. They also don't have very many 2-tops which makes the wait even longer. I might as well have lied and said I was a party of 3 because they weren't even waiting for the entire party to show up. If someone said "Table for 3" and was only one person they were sat right away. read more

This was my first time for breakfast at Kenny's. I give it a one star. The waitress was unfriendly and through things on the table. I ordered scrambled eggs with Jack cheese and mushrooms, breakfast potatoes and wheat toast. My eggs were burnt and tasteless. For some reason they didn't bring me potatoes or toast. I brought it to their attention. They brought me potatoes about 7 minutes after my eggs came and they were the wrong kind of potatoes. When I received my French toast, it was very bland. It was missing the love that I know Kimmy is known for when preparing the comfort foods that people enjoy. Normally I try to leave at least a 20% tip but today the service was really bad so I only left a three dollar tip. We love this place. My baby just turned 2 and we take her here occasionally for breakfast because they have the best kids French toast sticks. So good that my husband and I usually take a stick or 2. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, so I assume they deep fry it. One time I called in an order of French toast sticks and it was totally different, so make sure you specify kids French toast sticks! Everything from this place is pretty solid.
