Kimmie's is a good breakfast/ brunch diner that offers your typical breakfast dishes that you'd expect. Prices have gone up from the last time I've been which is expected as all prices have gone up everywhere. The place can get a little crowded on the weekends and we came on a Saturday morning and waited about 20 mins which was not too bad. I like the big diner booths with space that fit 2-4 peeps. I can't stand cramped seating when I'm trying to eat. I ended up getting the Country Scrambler with biscuit n gravy instead of toast. I should have just gotten toast as I forgot that my scramble had gravy on it. The gravy itself needed more flavor as it didn't even have a peppery taste. The scramble was nice as it had sausage, peppers, onions, country potatoes and ample amount of cheese in it. The peppers n onions had some crunch to them still. The other dish we had was a stack of pancakes n side of bacon. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. The side of bacon had 4 nice pieces and was good n crisp. The amount of food was large as you'd expect from a diner and was pretty good. The waitresses were young and friendly. There's plenty of parking so no worries. read more

This cafe oasis feels like a cozy Midwestern childhood home. I felt like I was visiting my Aunt's house in Indiana. Love the ambiance. The service was prompt and the food was good - especially the potatoes! They give a large portion of breakfast potatoes & I added the peppers and onions for a couple extra dollars. We are long term customers of Kimmies. Overall, the food is usually very good. Really love the French toast bread pudding. My husband also likes their sandwiches. Only complaint I have is when it gets busy the quality of their food drops as far as the preparation goes. We just try to avoid the busy periods. read more

Normally we really like this place and come here often but on our last visit someone wrote a Bible quote on our check and it just felt very uncomfortable. I would've thought it odd if it was printed on a menu but at least then it would be on something I know was given to everyone. Because it was hand written and not something that was ever done before, it felt targeted, especially because we had been discussing growing up in a non- Christian household. It wasn't even some sort of generic quote about loving your neighbor, it was Romans 10:9 which is about accepting Jesus and being saved. We have a regular breakfast spot we've be going to forever and are very happy with, but after driving by Kimmie's Coffee Cup in Cypress for years and years we decided to finally give it a try...and crossed our fingers. The service was fine, the servers were nice and the place was overall clean. On the downside, however, the place was a bit noisy, our food was just okay and the bill was definitely on the high side...even some 5-star reviewers say Kimmie's prices are high. I mean, just under $5 for a small orange juice and $4 for an iced tea. Really? We could have saved $10 just by ordering water instead. And, to boot, they tack on a 99-cent service charge just because you pay with your credit card. Hmmm. Most places don't do that and with its higher prices, there's no need for Kimmie's to do so either. We have money, but paying just under $50 with tip for two average breakfast entrees, even for us, seemed a little too much for what we got. I can go to my usual place, be happy, don't have to drink just water and will still save about $15...and there won't be a 99-cent service charge. Sorry Kimmie's, we wanted to like you, and we do, but we probably won't be coming back. read more

Normally good service but today the service came with a attitude. Ordered burger patties for my dog server brought sausage patties and said I didn't hear that instead of taking them Back and bringing the right patties out. Eggs were cold and toast was burnt. With the prices of food eating out and a tip is expected you would think they would be embarrassed to bring out food like and not have an attitude. A very cute little place to eat! I like their breakfast house aesthetic. Their menu has a variety of breakfast/ lunch items. I got the breakfast quesedilla, and my friend got the combo breakfast. The quesedilla was huge! The cheese was melted just right, and it was so savory. My friend got a waffle with his eggs and bacon, and his waffle looked really good. I do wish to come back to try their lunch items. They do have very limited drinks, which was my only gripe. Only coffee, tea, milk, juice, and soft drinks, which is fine but may be a letdown if you're looking for mimosas or something else. They did list their drinks in their menu, but they were listed in a small print. I must have looked over so many times I didn't even notice! The egg-oozed-out yolk action made me happy. (this earned an extra star) YUM. Came with choice of hash, he picked red potatoes - just perfectly cooked. Tender, not burnt or undercooked. I picked the Bread pudding French toast - this was great. I never even thought of this combination. Brilliant. (this earned an extra star) It is Kim's house recipe bread pudding. Served with maple butter, berries compote. Warning: this is more than enough for two. No one should eat this much lol! Love that I have some leftover for later. Maybe I will serve with a scoop of ice-cream at home. Husband and I did share our meals. Because most portions are just too big to eat all in one sitting. And it is more fun to share. Glad there is outdoor seating because no one indoors seemed to be masked at all. I have elderly folks to care for so I must be careful myself. Our group of 5 visited Kimmie's Coffee Cup in Cypress for the first time on a Sunday morning around 11:15am. Luckily we were seated right away and there seemed to be a few other tables open at that time as well. I don't remember what everyone ordered, but I know we ordered 1 Old Fashion Buttermilk Pancake, 1 Breakfast BLT, 1 Chipotle Chicken Wrap, 1 Irish Benedict. There was a good variety of menu items on the menu, so we already decided we would have to go back to try other things the next visit(s). Our server was attentive and came back multiple times to ask if we needed any other items, like condiments and napkins, and to refill our water glasses. The dining area had booths and tables, which offered plenty of seating options for small or larger parties. It was also nice and bright in the restaurant with plenty of windows, so it had a nice perky atmosphere. We enjoyed our food and the service and will be back again. read more

I'm surprised this spot doesn't have a higher rating because I definitely thought this place was pretty tasty. I ordered the Irish Benedict with breakfast potatoes and was super impressed with this fattening and delicious breakfast option. Super generous amount of corned beef hash on top of an English muffin, topped with hollandaise. Super filling and very good. Servers here were nice and efficient. Out beverages were never empty and I felt like I was in a cute and quaint country cafe. If you're in the area, I would definitely give this spot a try. read more

I'm all about supporting the local small businesses. I live a few cities over and seen someone post this business on facebook. Staff was nice and friendly. They had outside seating. Masks were not required to enter. Staff wore masks, but no gloves. I didn't really see social distancing required by staff. Tables were close to each other. Food was good. I ordered the chicken and eggs benedict. I didn't care much for the gravy. The biscuit was good just a little dry. The chicken was ok. The best part were the eggs. They were cooked perfectly. All together a tasting dish. I would definitely order it again, but without the gravy. My partner ordered the joy omelette or scrambled, I can't recall. It was a special. She enjoyed it. Long wait on a Sunday 10am (about 40 minutes) even though there were only 3 parties ahead of us, and we asked for first available. Food was not bad, not great, just whatever, but at around $18-20 per person (before tip) there are much better options out there. If you do go here, get there before 9:30 on the weekend. Or after 12 noon... Service was spotty as well, we asked for a substitute for the side instead of fruit, and they still brought the wrong side, and we had to ask for coffee refill. At least the side of toast with butter was tasty. But not going back except maybe to try the Benedict? This restaurant has really hit a low. I use to bring my kids and have breakfast here all the time. I experienced the worst service ever. No one came to take our order and that was AFTER we waited for our menus. I truly believe it was bcuz we were "of color". EVERY table around us was served before us. I'm not an insane person with access to the internet. I am speaking from the history of our visits. I haven't been there since. The food was good. Didn't mind paying their slightly high prices for small portions. It just sucks that our memories of this place were ended with trash service and a racist experience. read more

That was done to my great satisfaction. My sandwich was excellent and it hit the spot. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with my mother's sandwich as some of the meat was tough and unchewable causing her to be quite unsatisfied.
