This place is such good vibes!! It's super calming from the moment you come in. It is pretty quiet, so good for both coffee chats and working. I tried the communi-tea which tasted great and was so refreshing -- perfect for a nice SoCal sunny day. I also tried the chocolate cookies which were to die for (and they were so kind to offer it warmed up!) They have a cute outside patio that is dog friendly. Stopped by Kind Grounds for a Saturday morning cup of coffee with a group of friends and loved the vibes! The cafe's mission is ethical and intentional and the intentionality really comes through throughout the space - the decor, the drinks, and the overall energy! I got a Iced Strawberry Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk (a seasonal special) and I loved it! It was definitely a sweet drink but I enjoyed every sip. My partner got The Kind Mocha with oat milk, which is one of their Specialities, and enjoyed it as well. We paired our drinks with the vegan banana nut muffin and vegan chocolate chip cookie, and enjoyed both. Another favorite that was mentioned was the Grounded Latte, a rosemary vanilla latte, and is also one of their specialities - that's what I'm going to go back and try! I've been able to visit Kind Grounds twice over the past month and I've left feeling satisfied with their customer service and drinks each time! The ambiance of the space is relaxed, modern, and comfortable. In total, there's enough seating for about 15 people inside and 8-10 people outside. The booth lining the wall is pretty neat and provides space for studying. Outlets and wi-fi are available as well, which is incredibly convenient for those looking to work for a few hours. The music also isn't playing too loud, which I appreciate as it can be over-stimulating at times in other cafes. The drinks are moderately priced and pretty good! I ordered an iced caramel latte w/ almond milk and enjoyed it. I've also ordered their sea salt chocolate chip cookie and it was amazing! Definitely have the barista warm it up before trying it! Flat white...honey...orange bitters. All my good stuff. The flavor was there with moderate caffeine kick. Notably watery. Just checked out this place over the weekend. It's a cute small coffee shop with a cozy vibe. Loved the space and outdoor patio! I tried the strawberry vanilla matcha latte with oat milk. It was delicious. My only complaint is that it wasn't that hot, more like room temperature... but I'm not a regular matcha drinker so I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be. Would love to try their other drinks in the future (the seasonal and specialty drinks are enticing!). I also tried their buttery Chicken pot pie and it was delicious... however, just to warn you, it's a very tiny pie. This is a great place to work as the music/ noise isn't too loud. But might not be the best place to read... however I was reading a WW2 non-fiction book which may have required more focus and concentration than usual. I wonder if they would expand by having table and chairs outside their front doors in the near future, just so there would be more options to sit. It was a rather busy day when I was there. The coffee shop has a neighborhood vibe, not trendy and not in a busy area either. You would never have known it's there if you didn't seek it out or walk by it. Not a lot of parking there. The staff here is overly preoccupied with chatting with other regulars and each other rather than the customers they are currently helping. After prompting me to ask me what I wanted the barista my order the barista stopped and turned away from me to have a conversation with a coworker and then asked me to repeat my order. They then also stopped mid order to fist bump someone who I assume is a regular before continuing to type in my order. They then proceeded to make my order wrong. I decided to stay and enjoy my coffee but from my observations after this was not an unusual experience for this barista (they later interrupted a different customer mid order to explain they needed to write down a mobile order really quick). A very odd and unpleasant experience. I would recommend trying one of the many other decent coffee shops in the area instead. read more
