I used to go to the Koa pancake house in Aiea. That was close to where I lived quite a few years ago. I worked the graveyard shift so it opens when I used to Pau hana. I always tell myself I wanna try something new, something different but it never happens. Lol. I order the same thing every time. It hasn't changed at all. The taste and consistency still remains. I get the kalbi with fried rice and two eggs over easy. Break the yolk over the fried rice and it's so yummy. One of the better fried rice in my opinion. The kalbi is juicy and the marinade is just perfect. Service is pretty fast as the line moves quickly. The girls behind the counter are friendly and helpful. They bring the food to you. It's just your regular restaurant with the normal chatter of people getting together and enjoying good food. Yeah I know it's a pancake house so you should be ordering breakfast but I just can't stay away from my favorite. One of these days I will have breakfast but I wouldn't count on it. LOL read more

A friend of mine and I had planned on going to brunch. We were looking at egghead Café until I realized they were closed on Mondays. My friend recommended this place and I'm so happy that she did. We both ended up getting Vinha D'alhos Burritos. It's pork, sauteed white onions, chopped up home fried potatoes, and eggs. The burritos aren't overwhelmingly large. I would recommend getting a side of maybe home fries. The burrito itself is flavorful and has a decent amount of filling for $8. I've been back a couple times since. The home fries I would recommend getting crispy. Also reasonably priced around $5. The one day I did go the wait was about 40 minutes and while the place isn't overwhelmingly large you could tell by the constant flow of people that this place is a local favorite. I've also ordered pick up which you can do directly from their website. The time I was quoted, my food was ready when I showed up at that time. And even with a 10 minute drive home with the food was still nice and hot. Staff seems to be super friendly and hard-working. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot and indoor and outdoor self seating. You order up at the counter and then they give you a number and bring you your food once it's ready. The last time I ate and they did warn us about how long the wait was, but we didn't mind waiting. And I'm happy we did because the food was delicious. We love this place!! This place can be crazy busy and they are still Decently fast on getting food out to you. Not a ton of places to sit, but to go is fine too! After trying a too crowded breakfast spot we ended up here. You stand in line to order your food and then hope to find an open table. We didn't see it as we drove into the mall and walked around confused looking for it as the GPS said we were in the correct area. It's literally the first store in the same set of stores that Starbucks is at if you're coming in off Nimitz. Once we found the restaurant we could see it was really busy. We secured a table and then went to order at the register. You order there and they bring your food out to you. The people who worked there were hustling. Taking orders, serving food, and cleaning tables in continuous motion. They were smiling, upbeat, and helpful even through the press of people. The food came out quickly and was wonderfully hot. You can go back and get coffee refills at the front if you would like more. The coffee was good too. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed our meals. The food is solid and well seasoned. Though this place has been around for awhile, I tried it for the first time. It's a fast, casual restaurant where you order at the counter, they give you a number and then they bring it to your table. I tried some type of marinated pork Loco moco, can't remember the name. The pork had a strong vinegar flavor to it. It was different and something unique. They gave you a decent amount of rice and portion for the price. My dad got a short stack of blueberry pancakes with two scrambled eggs. There were a ton of blueberries in his pancakes, and the pancakes were light and fluffy. I didn't like the paper plates and plastic utensils, but the food was good and the service was decent. The parking also can be tight with so many businesses in the same parking lot and limited parking near the restaurant which is on the corner. read more

This location is in Moanalua Shopping Center right next to the gas station and with lots of free parking it's an easy place to grab a quick bite event though it's all made to order the system they have is great you walk I. And place your order at the counter to which they give you a number and if you're dining in they'll call out your number so you'll need to listen and be aware. I got the Koa Omelette which is filled with all my favorites...Portuguese sausage, cheese, mushrooms and spinach I wanted extra mushrooms and added tomatoes along making it egg white omg it was just the yummiest bite especially enjoying it with their home fried potatoes was so nice. They have a very big menu to choose from and appears that you have to stand in front of the registers to be able to see everything while people may want to order while you're still looking. I ordered the breakfast plate of egg whites and corn beef hash with a side of pancakes. The corn beef hash was a little overdone and after seeing someone's Portuguese sausage, I wish I went for that. Egg whites were very nicely cooked I just needed to add some salt, and the pancakes Were light and fluffy. My husband got eggs over easy and Spam with side of pancakes. Eggs were beautiful and perfectly cooked and you can tell how fresh they were, Spam was also nicely cooked. This was my very first time at this particular Koa Pancake House and I was so glad I went! It's a small place compared to the others KPHs, but everything was great! The prices are very fair, especially if you compare it with fast food these days! The counter staff give you a number which you display at whatever table you sit at. Tables were clean and adequately spaced so it was comfortable. The food came out so quickly - with the nicest food server saying this was only part of our order bc he didn't want the food to sit and get cold while we wait. Awesome! Really personable young guy! The food was great - tasted great, temperature perfect, and servings very adequate! You can refill coffee at the counter, and the condiments are readily accessible too. Nice mix of military and locals (us), and everyone was friendly. I was here on Monday and found out that they do Military Mondays, which means 10% off for military and vets. The place was packed especially since this location at by the NEX. I got the breakfast plate trio (2 links, 2 bacon, 2 Portuguese sausage) with over easy eggs and home fried potatoes $12.95. The hubby likes to get the cheese omelette with buttermilk pancakes. I'm not sure of the price. It's not on the menu, but they just make it for him. Most omelettes are around $13. I hardly ever come to the Koa Pancake House, but it was pretty good. My eggs were cooked correctly and you can't really screw up the meats. The potatoes were cubed and pan fried. I just put ketchup, soy sauce and pepper on the whole plate and it was good to go. They have an online ordering system so it's so easy to order and pickup. The food is affordable and always consistent. The portion sizes are good, they are not small but not huge either. It makes for a good meal. They're usually busy on the weekends but we have never had problems picking up. Place was packed and the line was to the door but we only waited 5 mins to order. Service was excellent and the girl working the register was very helpful with making suggestions on the menu. We were lucky enough that a table cleared when our food got ready so we didn't wait much at all. They have ample tables both indoor and outdoor. Most people were taking food to go and none of them waited more than 10 mins max for their food. The floors, tables, and drink dispenser area were cleaned really well and kept up with. I expected a little more trash/ food laying around with how busy they were but none was seen. Food was really good. The pancakes cake out hot and fresh. They give you huge portions here because the strawberry pancakes were a side order. Meat omelette was great! It was stuffed with meat and a nice thin layer of cheese so it didn't over take the entire omelette. Fried rice was also good. A little on the saltier side than what I'm used to with fried rice but I loved the taste and it went really well with the leftover egg I had. And if anyone does have some sort of card option, not everyone uses CashApp. Don't try to recommend me "Apple Pay" not everyone has apple. Not everyone has a card.
