We recently had Kolaches brought into work for breakfast and they were pretty tasty so i decided to get some over the weekend with the family. I wanted to try more than just the breakfast ones. I placed the order online and picked them up later. We ended up getting 12 I think, and a variety of most of the flavors they had. Our favorites were the brisket, the spinach and the enchilada. The more Hispanic type flavors seemed to be a little spicy for some of the family but I enjoyed them. What they didn't like much was the pizza because it was completely filled with pepperoni and we were expecting cheese and sauce but the amount of pepperoni just made it too salty. We also didn't care for the Texas Apple. It would have been helpful to know that this flavor is savory not sweet. It is like brisket with apples in it. The parking is tight since it is a small lot but the service was good. They got our order ready a few minutes before it was due and offered to warm them up. And the staff was very friendly. We will come back at some point for sure and next time we will have a better idea of what to order. read more

I stumbled across this place when I was going to an eyebrow threading spot nearby. They had huge posters plastered on their walls that advertised their food. I had never seen something like this before so I went inside to check it out. Although we came in a little after they closed, they still let us in to buy something. I got the sunrise and the ranchero. The bread was so fluffy and moist. The filling to bread ratio was perfect. They also offered a ton of salsa or sauce to complement if. Open for pick up and delivery (through GrubHub) Kolache is a pastry dish that is popular in Austin, Texas. It holds sweet fruits, or savory fillings in a puff dough. I guess the best way to describe it, would be a variation of a breakfast burrito/donut hybrid. There isn't much of this available in Southern California, hence this was the first time I tried the goodies. It isn't eye opening, jaw dropping delicious. But I can completely see why it is a nutritious, fulfilling comfort food for breakfast. The egg potato is tender and moist. I think Kolaches are an amazing handheld food, and this store has the best that I have ever had. I am so fortunate to find this restaurant. Went there for breakfast and got to try three different products. I started with the chorizo, egg, and cheese kolache for my breakfast. The dough forming the kolache is soft, slightly sweet, and tender. The filling was perfectly seasoned and very generous. It is amazing how the Kolache Factory makes the filling stay inside to kolache while stuffing so much into each one. I also got to try the sausage and gravy kolache which I could have eaten a dozen of. The consistency and flavor of the gravy is right on target, and somehow it does not ooze out when you cut or eat it. We wrapped up breakfast by sharing a cheese kolache with was also amazing, The cheese was flavorful and creamy, it made for a perfect ending for all the savory flavors. I think you could eat here for three meals a day for a week and still not try everything available. There are so many flavors that I want to try including their dough-wrapped sausages which look great and are huge. The staff was polite but not very chatty even though we had a ton of questions. I really wanted to love this place, but at the end of the day, it wasn't really anything special. I got two kolaches and one free. Philly cheesesteak: the best one! Meat wasn't dry and tasted like a nice gooey Philly cheesesteak sandwich. This one I would recommend. Chorizo, egg, and cheese: honestly lacking in flavor. I tasted the egg but not the chorizo. Sausage and cheese: it was free so can't complain! Not bad, but again, nothing special. Not a lot of cheese. I will probably come back for the prices though! Really good value as they are really filling. Service was ok. The cashier wasn't particularly friendly, which isn't a big deal given my short interaction with him. I was annoyed that he would stop in the middle of ringing me up or even writing my order on the bag to chat/laugh with the lady cashier next to him. Yet to try the sweet, I have tried ALL of their 20+ fillings and really enjoyed most of them. Both their meat and veggie options are delicious, I suggest getting a dozen mixed. They are heated to eat right away or boxed to heat for a few minutes at home, they also freeze very well and make a good meal later on. The only downside of this place is that everything tastes so flippin good that I always get overwhelmed and can't decide what to order! Nothing beats the chorizo and egg for breakfast. I never knew what kolache's were or just how delicious they could be until this location opened up in my neighborhood. They are these fluffy dough stuffed with all kinds of savory or sweet fillings. I often bring a box or 2 during family/friends gatherings and it was the most requested I was always asked to bring. Yesterday I was so disappointed with the way my order was packed. I found myself craving a sausage and gravy so I headed into my local Kolache Factory (1/20 around 11:00am providing so the owner knows who was working). Upon entering I'm my usual upbeat mood I greeted the staff with a "good morning" which was returned with dead stares back with no response. Upon placing my order and receiving my food, I politely said "Thank you" and again, I was met with a blank stare with no response. I was so taken back and annoyed that the employee was so not customer friendly, I awkwardly stared back at her until she turned around. It's almost as if the staff was annoyed that they had to deal with customers and I was inconveniencing their day. If the manager or owner cares to take action, I would suggest starting with current staff and training them to greet patrons and generally having a pleasant demeanor. From there, ensure new hires have this as part as their training procedure. The general public is finding during these inflation times while their paychecks are remaining the same, that their hard earned dollars might be better spent at a place that has a better customer facing experience. Holy cow, this review is for the order that just got dropped off from doordash. I haven't been into the restaurant but with food like this I'm gonna have to go check it out in person! Short and sweet the items I got were BBQ, jalapeño popper, Ranchero, and spinach. All were good but the outstanding ones I could recommend for the on the go worker would be 1 spinach and 1 Ranchero. The Ranchero is light and fluffy with a chewy texture similar to a fresh made Bolillo mixed with an Asian bun. It isn't sweet but warm,savory and chewy which makes the breakfast surprise inside an epic event. The spinach comes on a flat piece of the dough and has the flavors of a quiche without a crust. If you're a big eater like myself try 1 and 1 it will fill you up pretty good without being too heavy. read more

Love it! First time here last weekend. Even the rain didn't stop me from dropping in since I was at The District, why not. And oh yes! Everything is so delicious. These European pastries, specifically from Czechoslovacia. They have a good thing going here. Of course I had to try the Strudel Nick-Apple Cinnamon flavor. This pastry was actually the best strudel I've ever had. The savory Kolache are delicious. I've had one with chicken and beef filling. Very flavorful. A meal in one kinda of pastry. Getting out of work early in the morning gets me hungry so sometimes I like to go somewhere and grab a small bite to eat. I've heard of kolache factory but I've never been to it so I decided to give it a shot! Walking in the setting feels like a really small bakery. It was nice. They have a various assortment of flavors but j decided to go with 3 bacon, egg and cheese ones. I can describe as really soft baked buns. They were absolutely delicious! The lady at the register asked if I wanted them to be warmed up and she put them in the microwave which was cool! Other than that the pricing is fair. 3 of them for around $11 was enough to fill me up honestly. Service is okay. Decided to come in after a year hiatus. And it looks exactly how I remember! The menu names every kolach including with prices and calories for those who count their calories just like me lol. The place was busier than usual maybe people are starting to catch wind up of this delicious place. These bad boys don't look that big but they can be pretty heavy. They have a wide variety but I've only had a handful. I usually get a breakfast and a savory one. When you order they ask if you want them heated up, they warm it up for you or a bit but honestly I think they can warm it up for longer. I wouldn't say these are mind blowing amazing but they're not bad for what they are. Just make sure you choose wisely.. Some are good and some are just alright being nothing special. 1-2 will definitely fill you up. I always get a breakfast that has eggs in it (very typical one). Be weary as they can be heavy and one may be enough to fill you up. My coworker with special needs brings these every time he is late to work. They're so good, I almost want him to be late every day! The joy on (let's just call him Montana)'s face every time he brings these in is adorable. Kolache... The perfect stuffed roll. I didn't know what a kolache was until our office ordered 15 different flavors for breakfast once. H-oo man... that was such an awesome day for all of us in the office. We hoarded the leftovers and reheated them the next day. A kolache is Czech version of a stuffed bun that's filled with everything, well, anything you want. Some have meat, some have egg, some have hot dogs, some have cheese or a combo of any or all. Others have fruit or cream. They are $2-$3 each and weigh as much as a baseball in your hand because they are just full of goodness inside. I'm still trying to figure out... How did they make this perfectly constructed bun? The reason I say this is because the bun can hold a meaty cheesy filling sit in the fridge for a day and you quick heat it in the microwave to warm it up then finish it off in the toaster over for a couple of minutes, you will have the same fresh gently crusty shell and doughy layer that gives way to that huge pocket of filling. With no leakage! This is impressive, especially if you've ever had a Chinese bao. You know that even the best pork buns leak from the bottom. With kolaches you get none of that mess. Some of my faves: Philly Cheese Steak - The quality of this is better than some cheese steaks. No junk meat inside, ideal ratio of meat, cheese and bun. Sausage & Gravy - Like biscuits and gravy, in a roll. You had me there. Jalapeno Cheddar - This is a simple combo but it just works so well. Spinach & Cheese - This is one of their few open faced kolaches, but surprisingly also one of their best. Creamed spinach in bun that looks like a fruit danish would. No meat in this one. Egg & Cheese (Any of them) - Bacon, ham, or sausage, they are all good with the egg and cheese for breakfast. Do note, that if you see some of the sausage ones in a long roll, those sausage kolaches are really hot dogs in them. For the Sausage and Gravy or the Sausage with Egg and Cheese, those have sausage bits in them, not hot dogs. ***Hot Tips*** Use the Yelp Check-in offer... Buy 4 get 1 free. And also sign in to Five Stars at the counter and get points for that too. If you go during the last hour or two, your selection may be more limited as they often sell out of various rolls. As you can tell I'm a huge fan. You can refrigerate these for 2 or 3 days and they'll still be amazing when you reheat them.
