Absolutely incredible! We'd never had kolaches before so we didn't know what to expect, but these were AMAZING. The dough was soft, thick, and slightly sweet and the fillings we tried were all awesome. We tried the potato, egg, and cheese, the chorizo, egg, and cheese, and the bbq brisket; the potato one was our absolute favorite with the chorizo not too far behind. Every time my parents would come to visit they would bring us 2 dozen kolaches so we could get our fix haha. There were 2 employees working this morning. The older lady working the register should not be working there. I am not sure if she doesn't like guys or Hispanic but when I orders my food she didn't bother asking for my rewards and had an attitude, I was holding my baby and didn't even bother asking about my point due to her attitude I didn't want to deal with her more than I had to she was giving. At first, I figured it was just early and she isn't a morning person still no excuse for her attitude but again I had my baby and didn't want to deal with her more than I had to. However, the next person in line she helped was an older white lady, her demeanor completely changed, she asked her for her rewards almost immediately and became more polite. I get home to only find out she messed up my order. A person like that regardless of the reason should not have a job dealing with costumers face to face if she is unwilling to treat everyone the same. I will definitely make a point when I go in the future and she is at the register to avoid her taking my order and if asked why while I'm there I will state why and say it loud enough for other costumers to hear why and what I experienced. read more

Had to wake up early to drive to this place. Sister recommended it. The hype was big and it somewhat met expectations. I ordered the Philly cheese and Ranchero. The Philly cheese was pretty good. Plenty of filling which had lots of flavor. The bread was soft, fluffy and sweet. If you like Philly's try it out. The Ranchero is a breakfast item which also was great. I was craving kolaches and I've known California doesn't do kolaches besides at this place so I opted to give it a shot. I'm from Texas where it's easily accessible from shipleys, local donut shops, more popular places like Czech stop just to name a few so I know what a good kolache is supposed to taste like. I absolutely agree with the previous reviewer Vic. Unfortunately, Kolache factory was highly disappointing for several reasons. 1) these look more like kolache balls when kolaches either look more square or I've had them rectangular length. 2) these were not soft at all like the way kolaches are supposed to be even when reheated the dough was tough when it should be a soft puffy pastry 3) The filling was too much, there was no sauce, enough cheese to add flavor straight protein if that's what you're going for 4) way over priced I bought a dozen with 5% off and the total was $41!!! I was really happy with the curbside pick up. I had my toddler with me and sometimes it's hard to find nice local shops to eat at because there's not a drive thru option. I called when I arrived and the staff was very polite and helpful. They even warmed up my order for me before bringing it out to my car. The online ordering was easy, and the curbside pick up made it so convenient because I didn't have to worry about wrangling my son out of the car. We've really been sleeping on the Kolache Factory!! My sister has been living in the area for 3 years and it took us that long to get try them?! LOL Shame on us! I know a big part is that I'm more of a night owl and not a morning person compared to most people. Well we finally had our chance a few days ago and it was so good we went back the very next day! My sister went on a whim on Sunday and of course the selection was bare bones it was closer to them being closed for the day. She snagged 2 cream cheese kolaches and they were delish!! The next day we tried several savory ones along with a strawberry kolache, I would be in big trouble if I woke up early and lived in the area! These things are so delicious!! The bread is so fluffy and addicting! I don't know what people are thinking it's mass produced aka grocery story pastries because there's nothing that can even compare to these Kolaches!! We stumbled into The Kolache Factory about a year ago on a late Saturday morning while shopping for a property to flip. Its located in a newly remodeled strip mall on the edge of a slightly sketch area of Tustin, but the service is fast, friendly and the selection is massive....best part? The Kolache's are delicious! I love the Italian Chicken Kolache, but P loves their Sausage and Gravy - which is hilarious as he's kind of a health nut and works hard to maintain his 7% body fat. A few months later I needed to arrange for breakfast for a large client presentation, but wanted something hot, yet, cost effective. Even though they're a trot from my offices across from SNA, The Kolache Factory delivered and knocked the socks off our clients and staff with a fantastic array of savory and sweet Kolaches. Weeks later I still had requests from peers, as well as my client calling for contact info they went over so well. My best service however came when I did a huge Sales Kickoff meeting in Dana Point in February. I had 118 people to feed and no time to drive north in the AM to pick the order up before busting a move thru OC traffic to DP for an 8:00 a.m. start time. I really didn't think TKF would be able to help, but I checked just in case - and they were so accommodating! They arrived right on time, set everything up and I was able to serve a hot breakfast, including juices, coffee and a fantastic array of Kolaches for less than $10.00/per person! I walked in with smile and she has a bratty face on. I still tried to be nice with a smile but when she snatched my card I dropped that smile. Oh my goodness...where do I start.... My husband and I just moved to Tustin this past weekend and we had to get up early to run some errands and wanted to grab breakfast real quick. After looking on yelp I found Kolache Factory and we decided to check it out...I'M SO GLAD WE DID! We tried the following: ranchero, chorizo, sausage/jalapeno/cheese, & polish sausage/jalapeno/cheese. Overall we liked the ranchero & chorizo one. The dough of the round kolache was slightly thinner than the ones that had the whole sausage in it so the ratio was better with the round ones. It was so good we literally bought a dozen after to eat it for dinner with some friends who were coming over later. The best part most of them are around 200 calories so you don't feel guilty when you're eating it! And trust me 2 gets you pretty full! I definitely found a new favorite place and will come by often to get a dozen for parties, company events, or for lunch for the week. Highly recommended! read more

Seeing as I didn't get to eat any Kolache when I was in Czech Republic, I decided to pay a visit to Kolache Factory as an attempt to make it up to myself. Blueberry Kolache($1.62): The jam was sticky and tasted very synthetic. What a waste of calories..I'm glad that it wasn't overly sweet though. Sausage Kolache: I enjoyed the supple bun but perhaps they could put more than 1/3 of a link of sausage inside? The pastry actually has a strong resemblance to the sausage rolls Hong Kongers like to eat for breakfast... except the buns in Hong Kong are more buttery and have a more complex flavour. read more

I heard this place from a coworker of mine so I had to go. When you walk inside it reminds me of a donut place where all the dinner rolls full of filling inside are in donut trays. I have to say each different flavor is savory and mouth watering. I recommend the the the kolache with sausage, egg and cheese. The dough used in the bread is very soft not hard or crispy. Delish kind of slightly sweet bread stuffed with A LOT of delicious fillings. Love pepperoni? The pizza kolache can't be beat. Awesome. Brisket, spinach and Jalapeño poppers are super tasty. Been to the Kolache Factory a number of times now and always look forward to another. I had friends from the former Czechoslovakia who introduced me to delicious homemade kolaches many years ago and when I first discovered Kolache Factory I immediately trotted over to see how they compared to the ones I fondly remember. My Czech friends only made fruit-filled varieties such as apricot, peach, berry and such. Kolache Factory has some sweet fruit versions as well, but has clearly gone well beyond sweet into the savory. You will find a wide variety of egg, meat, cheese and other Kolaches awaiting your hungry mouth. My biggest challenge is which ones I will consume immediately and which will I depart with for later enjoyment: They are all very good and I have never been disappointed with any. Open until 2PM, Kolache Factory has friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel happy you chose to come here. There is typically a line during the busy morning hours, but the efficient folks behind the counter keep things moving along quite well. The usual morning hot beverages are here along with a variety of soft drinks. Prices are very reasonable and certainly worth every penny. One of my friends brought Kolache to work, and it was love at first bite! There were an assortment of buns to choose from but I opted for the ham and cheese. So good! The ham was really flavorful and the bun was nice and cheesy. There was plenty of filling, too. The girls who work the register, one in particular, is very rude and unfriendly. I've had her serve me multiple times and she always has a stank look on her face and is so unfriendly.
