It has a similar texture to crepe, but a little thicker and it taste savory/sweet. It kind of does look like a crepe with syrup, but not as sweet. The side of pickles added a good balance. As small as the portion looks, it was actually very filling! Also, the BBQ bao was pretty good as well! It had a good amount of pork in it and again, the pickles paired very well with it as well. It does have peanuts, so just be aware if you have allergies. Otherwise, the bao was pretty good overall. If you're getting both the pancake and bao, I think it can be shared between 2 people because both items were pretty filling even though the portion looks small. Oh Taiwanese toasts, how I have missed you so dearly. Back when I visited Taiwan in fall 2018, these were one of my favorite foods to get. The toasts look tiny, but actually it's a lot more filling than you think. There's a reason why this is their most famous toast because the pork is marinated so flavorfully. More Q, as we call it. We had the BBQ pork egg pancakes and a black pepper beef submarine sanwich and a cold soy milk. All on the sweet side, which is typical to southern Taiwan cuisine. I've had this place bookmarked for a long time and was really excited to try it! Since it's a bit far from where I live, I decided to make the most of the drive and ended up ordering more food than I probably needed to. I especially liked the house bbq pork egg pancake and tuna corn pancake, as strange as the latter combination might sound. The lamb with basil rice bowl was also pretty good, but a bit pricey considering the small portion size. I would definitely skip the pork belly bao, as I've had better tasting ones that were much bigger and more affordable than the one I tried from here, plus the pork wasn't as tender or flavorful as I would have hoped. The drinks were definitely the biggest disappointment, as I ordered two boba milk teas and their black bean soy milk, which were all completely watery and disgusting! Quite frankly, the milk teas literally just tasted like black Lipton tea with maybe a splash of creamer and nothing else. The boba was also oddly soft and not the chewy texture I was expecting. I should've known better it wouldn't be crispy due to the egg part but I felt like it needed something refreshing with the pancake. WIth the house bbq pork, the egg soaked up all the sauce so it felt very one-tone on the palette. The pickled cucumber it comes with needed to be more pickled and less sweet. Since it's topped on top of the pancake, it also made the pancake wet from the drippings and soft.. I needed a bit more variety in the pickled vegetable area. Portion is decent but I got over the dish really quick due to the same flavor. It's probably best if the dish is eaten right away but my drive home was still only about 5 minutes. Whenever I'm in the mood for some Taiwanese food the first place I think of L'uxweet which is one of the mom and pop food places you can try in the OC. Primarily known more for their breakfast items the food items are made to order and my favorite section are the egg pancakes. -House BBQ Pork with Basil $6.45 (5/5): This pancake is sweet and savory but more on the sweet side. There's only the slightest hint of basil but you will get plenty of pork pieces. The egg pancake will be drizzled with sauce and is very fluffy to eat. Highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth! -Kimchi with BBQ Pork $6.45 (4.5/5): For those who want a little bit of spice and more of a savory combination this one is for you. There are bits of the kimchi which is infused with the egg pancake. The BBQ pork bits and the hint of spice from the kimchi makes this egg pancake almost a meal on its own. One of my biggest gripes with L'uxweet is that it takes a very long time for them to finish orders. Ever since they've opened and even during COVID-19 hours of operations, they still struggle with completing food dishes in a timely manner. On average expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes for your food order. You might have to wait longer if it's a crowded day. I do appreciate that the food items are freshly prepared which is why they have a longer wait time. Better to order over the phone in advance or order online so that you don't have to wait as long. Love this place! At the beginning of the pandemic, my boyfriend and I would frequent this place at least twice a week. My go-to is the house BBQ pork egg pancake. The inside has delicious, flavorful pork, which is wrapped up in the egg pancake, which is soft and slightly chewy. It's sooo good and it's a generous portion size :) For their drinks, we always default to the orange fruit tea. It is SO refreshing and I love that they use real oranges! It is a tad pricy, starting at $5.25 before any add-ons, but I figure that's the price you pay for freshness. We've also tried the pineapple fruit tea, but it was just a tad too sweet for our liking. The wintermelon oolong tea is also good if you're into wintermelon! I love that you have an option for "less boba" when you add toppings, only downside is it's the same price as the regular amount of boba, haha. We got 2 of the Taiwanese Egg Pancakes; one with the house BBQ pork and one with basil and cheese. They were both sooo good and definitely met my Taiwanese food cravings. My friend got the lamb and basil pocket toast which was also delicious. The only thing I could do without was the pork belly rice bowl--it sounded a lot better than it ended up being. I think I was just expecting the pork belly to be really flavorful, but it was rather bland. It wasn't terrible, but I probably wouldn't get it again. We also all got tea/milk tea drinks. My bf and I got the Cloud Brewed Tea, one Oolong and one Matcha, which is the tea with a sweet foam on top. It was good, but not anywhere close to my favorite Happy Lemon teas. This wonderful mom and pop Taiwanese place is a little gem! Authentic, down to the cardboard boxes that the food is served in (same kind used back in Taiwan). They have boba, teas, cheesecake, egg rolls (cookies), but importantly Taiwanese breakfast and street food. If you're not familiar with Taiwanese food, the food menu can be a bit daunting. You can't go wrong however with the pork belly bowl (delicious Unami fatty pork served with rice and pickled veggies). If you're feeling a bit more adventurous try the egg pancakes. This is a pan fried, delightfully chewy and savory snack/breakfast commonly eaten in Taiwan. They also have Taiwanese style breakfast sandwiches. Food and service are fantastic. This was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. I came here because I was in the area and wanted to support a Taiwanese business (: Parking was easy to find, and there's outdoor seating available! The cashier was also very nice. I will say that this is not a typical place where you can order a variety of dim sum- they only offer toast, egg pancakes, and pork rice bowls (my mom was pretty sad about that- we're used to Yi Mei or Shi Hai where you can order pretty much anything you like). It seemed a bit pricey, too- about $8 for one dan bing (I got the BBQ pork and kimchi). We also waited 30 minutes because I think they were really backed up (we're used to waiting 5 minutes at Yi Mei even with larger orders). I was the most upset, though, when I opened the box and there was cucumber in the corner (I have an emotional allergy to cucumber). Their boba is nothing to write home about, mid and forgettable. Their food though, is totally worth the wait and the trip (it takes me 25 minutes to get there). I always get the house bbq pork egg pancake and not once has it failed me. The pork is juicy, the pancake is just the right texture, the sauce is immaculate and pairs so so well with the cucumbers. I will be trying other items at some point in the future but that pork pancake is always on my mind whenever I'm in Tustin or Irvine. read more

Really excellent for breakfast. Never had these dishes, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. It took some time to get the food out, but this was expected. Just make sure to order in advance online, it's worth it. The folks behind the counter were kind and attentive. The place is small and looks a lot like your typical boba shop -- no seating inside, but a good bit of seating just outside next to the place. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
