Came in on a random Tuesday night and gave it a shot with my handsome man. It has a nice and attractive atmosphere with a lot of Hollywood or wannabe Hollywood types. The bar was filled with people and I REALLY did not care for squeezing in between bar customers, screaming in an order at the waitress over a stranger's shoulder, and frankly I could tell he didn't like it either. There are definitely better ways to take orders. I ordered the three cheese flatbread pizza and my honey ordered a burger and both were very good. I guess we'll be back eventually. read more

Doesn't seem to be ample enough seating as there were way too many people just standing around and it was pretty difficult to get a drink. Maybe I'll grab food here one of these days and try my luck again and hope for a more pleasurable experience. read more

There's a certain time to go to avoid the rush, either early, 4-5 or a little bit later 830-9. Otherwise you will get stuck with a lot of douche and grime. My new fav local hang out!! No fuss just plain old simple good times with simple drinks and food. Great place to chill with friends. I have found that the communal table in the middle is where the action is at. If you are looking to make new friends definitely the key spot to locate yourself. I am now addicted to the laurel burger. A must have if you are going here for the first time. Prices are reasonable and no cover at the door. I will be back for sure again and again!! read more

The beer, the food, the staff, the atmosphere, Laurel Tavern is the shiznit! Grilled Artichokes that have so much flavor your mouth will think you are eating a steak. We also feasted on the following: cheese platter (including the best olives I've ever had at a restaurant), Burrata & Tomatoes, French Fries, and my friends also ate the Pork Belly Skewers. The Blue Cheese Burger is fabulous! They cooked it exactly as I had requested (medium rare). It comes with a generous serving of blue cheese on top. It also includes bacon which I sometimes have them hold. But, what I think really sets this burger off from all the rest is the thin slice of a Granny Smith apple under the burger. It was juicy, savory and by far the best burger that I have ever had. For $10, it is quite the deal. read more

Good beer and a nice atmosphere. The walk up to the bar and order your food aspect is a bit interesting. Be warned, this place is small, and at night it can get busy as all hell (not to mention the parking nightmare). I much prefer to stop by during off hours. Burgers are delicious! Fries are tasty, big, thick, and still have their skins, though they are served in a puddle of flavorless oil that should be avoided. ENORMOUS MINUSES: Terrible ambiance and horrific parking situation, gets ridiculously noisy, and attracts the most stereotypically self consciously LA crowd Ive seen. Worst of all is their idiotic refusal to hire waiters. You cannot order anything without fighting your way to the bar. Almost equally stupid is their hiring only 2 bartenders, ensuring their astonishingly slow service gets even slower. Avoid this joint from 5pm and after. read more

This is a four star place. Period. The food is good, drinks solid. The bartenders know what they are doing. Laurel Tavern needs to handle their traffic a bit better, and offer a more structured or convenient way to order and they will get that extra star. I would go more if it were easier to get in and out. It's not cheap, but when you consider the neighborhood, and the disappointing places around it, you see real value here. read more

My boyfriend took me to this place yesterday. I ordered BBQ pork ribs. At first, I didn't expect that the food was going to be good at all because most bars have a bad reputation about serving the worst greasy food. Surprisingly, my BBQ pork ribs were perfectly cooked and moist. The meat was clean and lean. It was very tasty! Even my boyfriend who has really high expectation when it comes to food liked it! Also, the service was great. The bartenders greeted us politely which made the environment more enjoyable! I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but we had to pay for valet parking. The parking was kind of weird structure. We had to parked in the tiny parking space. Anyways I would recommend all of my friend about this place, but find other places to park. read more

This place is pretty cool. They have a ton of beer on tap, very wide selection for you to choose from. Seating kind of reminds me of the inside of a classroom because of the tables and chairs have that old school style to them. I unfortunately did not arrive in time to order (around 1:00 am ish) but it looks like a place that would have good burgers and the like. It is a great place to go and have a drink with friends and enjoy a nice conversation, music is not too loud at all! I will definitely return. read more

This spot is a great hang out spot. Loved the environment,however our food was just ok. It looked like it would be tasty but the chicken sandwich was very dry and flavorless.
