Food is good but inconsistent. Plus they have up charges for everything. I really really used to like this place. I'd go with husband, groups of friends and family. However simple things like a sandwich or wrap just got too expensive. Each bill would have multiple additional charges that other restaurants wouldn't have charged us for. I was out with my family trying to find somewhere to eat and the menu here looked decent so we tried it out. Straight off the bat it was extremely tight and the bathrooms are so tight and small as well. The bathroom are clean at least. The food was a disappointment , we ordered simple food and my clam chowder felt as if someone poured a whole container of salt. The chili wasn't hot and it still had the powder on it, the fries from the burger were given to us cold and then we had a side that filled up a napkin from how much oil was absorbed from a single piece of the fried cauliflower, on top of it the cauliflower was drenched in salt that my mother had felt nauseous shortly after from it. The waitress was nice on the bright side thankfully. The drinks here are okay if you want just something simple( the beers are good) I'll give this place a 1/10 read more

I ordered wings here once a few years back for Super Bowl Sunday. I don't remember them being that great, just average, so i never went back. However lately, my friends have been RAVING about their wings...especially their Tequila Citrus. Feeling hungry, i finally ventured out for myself to try out these so called awesome wings OMFG. Tequila Citrus wings were a party in my mouth!!! It hits all your taste buds: they were crunchy, salty, sweet, sour, spicy...mmmmm WOW. They go well with beer for sure. Another great app - Chips N' Bleu. Homemade kettle cooked potato chips with blue cheese sauce to dip them in. OMG so good. The chips were crispy and cooked to perfection, and the sauce was crack sauce. I wanted to dip everything into that blue cheese sauce. The New Yorker Steak sandwich was supririsingly really good too. I asked for hte steak med rare and it came out perfectly med rare. I thought this sandwich would be more like a cheese steak where the steak would be shaved thin, but they pretty much used a flat iron steak and just put it in the sandwich. I guess it would have been cooler if they at least sliced it up a bit but the steak was still pretty tender. The sandwich was yum. Damnn and the beer selection here? It's freaking great. Let's dispense with the bromides, 1. It was bad weather and 2. It was late so..... 3. Everyone has an off day, so.... Today's meal is eponymous with their name--some lazy boy or girl made this meal. Someone just didn't care. Diffident cookery at its worst. First, the fries were soggy and the stench from the tin wasn't just a mood killer, it was an appetite slayer. Yuck. Yeah, I hear you, so I did put them in the toaster once, twice and thrice.....and let's just say the only benefactor of this was the electric company. Now, the wings were soggy too. The sogginess that comes from laziness, not from fried food left to sit a little too long, but rather from technical cooking flaws such as not cooking and crisping before tossing in sauce. Lazy boy saloon--uhhh....huuu, you betcha. The meat barely passed as almost sufficiently cooked. If this meal doesn't make my stomach surrender than nothing will. I didn't even finish them. Tossed. The sliders were microscopic but, after the depressing fries and disappointing wings, they actually tasted quite good. They were cooked precisely and pleasantly appointed with toppings. Nice--very nice. Might the taste have been enhanced with the buns being toasted? Maybe, but after the whiffed wings and fraudulent fries, let's not push it. Moreover the chicken tenders were moist and almost acceptably crisped. I'd give them a thumbs up . I've ordered here before and let me say this much, I wouldn't have taken to my culinary podium for an evening rant unless it was really regrettable. We waited over 20 minutes for some1 to come get our drink orders as my freind noticed that the waitress was going all over, pretty much bouncing along all over. Most times going back to chat with her other freind, another waitress. Service was ridiculously slow for a not so busy Friday night. This place wasn't packed so I was kind of surprised by how SLOW the service was. As for our meal. I usually don't like to try something new but my friend insisted that the food was great!! and so I did. I ordered the lobster pizza. The very flat cracker like crust I did love. I love crunchy! The pizza itself was dry and salty so it was kind of like a salty cracker taste to it. Mahhh not so great for a $20 price. My freind ordered an angus beef pizza and he wasn't thrilled at all. It was dry as well so he asked for sauce to spice up his meal. The service was slow and at the end trying to get the attention of the waitress again to ask for dessert was yet another more waiting then after that getting her attention for the longest to please charge us so we could leave was another task lord. When we arrived ( group of 4) we got asked for our drink orders, I asked for champagne however the waitress stated they did not have any, I asked for bubbly wine ( listed on the menu) the waitress also stated they did not have any. I took a look at the menu which indicates a cocktail that has champagne in their mix. A member from our party approached the bar and was told by the bartender how they indeed did have champagne and he was kind enough to go down to what may be the saloons cellar to retrieve said champagne. Additionally a coffee was ordered and took over 20 minutes to arrive . Honestly what saved this spot was their food, everyone was really content with their food . The lobster grilled cheese was soooooo sooo sooo good!!! Tequila lime wings were a hit, as well as the Buffalo pizza and their cauliflower bites . Everyone at the table was also pleased with their beers ( large selection) . I'm not sure how I'd feel going back , we went on a slow night and the service could of been a lot better I can't even imagine what a busy night would be like . Ive been here before, but I didnt try as many things on their menu as I did my most recent visit. We started with their Tequila Lime wings which were amazing, perfect balance between salty and citrus. You do not have to be a tequila fan to enjoy the flavor (I hate tequila lol). Then for entree I had the Truffle Lobster Mac & Cheese. Sooo good, it couldve just been a bit more saucy. But the lobster was so plump and juicy so It didn't really compromise the dish. For desert we had their fruity pebble milkshake. Omg, it was nice and smooth and wasnt too heavy, not to mention how cute it was presented. I love, love, love this place! Sometimes find myself going twice a week. I've never tried something I didn't like, from the standard bar classics like wings and burgers to their spring rolls and pulled chicken tacos. The lobster mac n cheese is to die for. The beer selection is the real treat though, with a daily changing draft list and a countless variety of bottles no where in the area comes close to competing. Thursdays are .25 cent wing night and here's a tip: they do accept reservations so to skip a long wait call ahead. Only downside: service can be a bit slow and often waiters tend to several tables at once which can be confusing and cause you to forget which waiter is yours!! read more

We were in White Plains and badly in need of dinner. One of our group suggested LBS, specifically for their signature Tequila Lime wings. We were seated right away as the dining area was not very busy after 8 pm on a mid-week night. The beer list was above average in selections and some hard to find drafts in this part of the world. We shared the wings and I opted for a Breakfast Burger for dinner. The wings were excellent and I plan to revisit and either try another flavor or get some more of these delicious things. The burger was outstanding and the fries were among the best I've ever had, think, crispy and well seasoned. Service was ok with the waitress being almost indifferent to our presence here, but I can't dock them given the quality of everything else I had. My friend and I went this past Friday night for a late dinner, arrived at around 9:45 PM and was seated right away by a friendly hostess. Nice greeting by our waitress and we ordered a couple of great IPA's and looked at the menu. We were hungry so when she came back a few minutes later we ordered the buffalo hot wings (10 wings), my friend ordered the Diablo burger medium rare and I ordered the Kobe burger with swiss cheese medium rare. The wings were cooked perfectly and were crispy and delicious with the right amount of spice, also came out fast which was appreciated. We loved the burgers, both cooked medium rare as ordered and both. Juicy and delicious and served with great shoestring fries and a tasty dill pickle. Great dining experience and our waitress did an awesome job and checked in with us regularly. I have been going here for over 17 years and am glad their still around, I know that they changed owners some years back and they did some nice renovations and put in nice new bathroom fixtures etc. Much needed and great to see. The food is well below average and the place is a mess. I found a cockroach running down the wall next to my head so I killed it. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it looked like people were drunkenly pissing on the floors and walls for weeks without a clean, so imagine what the kitchen must look like. The floors and tabletops are sticky, they had one server for the whole restaurant on Wednesday night, their trivia night, so getting another round of drinks was impossible, I had to walk up to the bar several times and just opened a tab there. I wouldn't even recommend taking a dump in this place, let alone eating there. I think they have drink specials so if you're looking for a cheap place to drink they may at least fit that bill, but otherwise there are plenty of better options next door or across the street. read more

Sometimes I wonder how highly rated places on Yelp are capable of having days where they can suck on so many levels. You can kinda understand falling short in some areas on a given day, but when a place completely falls flat, you're almost in awe over how they can have as many stars as they do Unfortunately mulling over this is what much of my lunch conversation consisted of. Met a friend here for lunch during the middle of the week. I assume as a sports bar, Lazy Boy Saloon makes the majority of their money towards the end of the week and likely later parts of the day. If they have different kitchen and service staff throughout the week, I'd imagine the more skilled staff works during busier times-- and understandably so. But is it possible that everyone who works here during the rest of the week can be THIS bad? My friend arrived about 15 minutes earlier than me and had to order after our waitress kept insisting he put an order in. I'd understand if the restaurant was busy, but there were only about 2 or 3 other tables here for lunch. When I sat down our initial order of 20 wings was sitting there getting cold. Our order of "award-winning" tequila citrus and carribean jerk wings were mostly tiny, shriveled raisins of a thing with barely any meat. They looked polio-stricken. On top of that, because there were so many more of the smaller wings paired with a few big wings, the cooking time was longer to allow for the larger wings to cook through all the way. This left the smaller wings (the majority) overcooked and dried up like rubber. And since only buffalo wings are served with blue cheese, drenching them to rehydrate them wasn't an option. If I were a restaurant manager, I'd never allow my most acclaimed menu item to have a poor showing. Unacceptable. Also ordered pulled pork nachos, which wasn't on the menu, but we saw that they had pulled chicken nachos and pulled pork burritos so we asked for those to be combined. When this dish came out, it looked like it would be delicious. But on first bite it turned out the pork was dried out (noticing a trend here) and the only flavor it had was salt. Lots and lots of salt. As if I wasn't thirsty enough from the wings. Between the dryness of the wings and pork, you'd think our waitress would at least refill our drinks every now and then. But no. She stopped by to refill my water glass just once. And it was after I asked. She didn't even bring me a new glass. She took my cup to the back and refilled it with water and no ice. I'm a little baffled. This place has four stars so I'm assuming it's capable of being great. But it's evident they don't give a crap during non-peak hours. My advice- if you're considering stopping in for lunch or during the early parts of the week, go with one of the other fine dining options available on Mamaroneck Ave. read more

I have been coming to the Lazy Boy since 1998. That was a time where they had a free raw bar on Friday Nights, Brooklyn Monster pints for $4 and $.15 wings. Bartenders were liberal on the buybacks, and foreigners, cops, Pace Law Students, and politicians all rubbed shoulders. Occasionally you'd see a famous athlete. And yet, it was a unpretentious neighborhood bar without the preening of other places. The food ingredients are high quality with some delightfully atypical selections. The beer and scotch list are diverse and would satisfy aficionados of food and drink. The wings are the best in the area. It's a place where the bar food rivals those of restaurants. Admittedly, there's stiff competition. The kids who plan on becoming deaf by the time they're forty go to one of the neighboring bars. The Lazy is smaller, so it can be hard to get a table. But in my many years there, during the week it's always busy when the other places are dead. The wings remind me of where I grew up - Western New York. They've added some different seasonings, but they tend not to offer the extra hot as a special anymore. That was part of the fun. Admittedly, they're a lot better than other places calling themselves "buffalo" wings, with their caked on batter and sweet sauces. Over the last few years, the scotch list has pared down a bit. It's hard to bring a date when she wants a pretty good pinot instead. The style of ownership has changed, but they have a new manager and I'm pretty enthusiastic. The new owner made some smart hiring choices. Granted, putting American post-prohibition light lagers on tap makes me a little sad, but it's a business. Like other bars it has plenty of screens and media and is fairly loud after 8pm. There are no gimmicks, however. A place to meet friends rather than be seen. Came for Fathers Day to celebrate with good food. Didn't disappoint. We are always looking for places to eat that have vegetarian to satisfy everyone. The veggie burger was delicious comes with ample avocado and the cheese fries don't leave you scrapping for cheese. Everything was fresh and the service was good despite the fact that there was only one waitperson. My husband had the Santa Fe burger and my daughter had the tequila lime wings/ all very good. First time here and it was okay. A full plate of sweet potato fries for $7 can't go wrong. However they lacked some serious seasoning and the the taste could have been better. The tenders were also just okay and could have used some seasoning as well but they were cooked to perfection so that was good. The service was extremely slow though I couldn't understand that and we were not checked on at all. So when we finally were and it took twenty minutes for ketchup that was super annoying. So I came into the ale house and had to search for someone to greet me. After being confused for a few seconds, a guy from the bar greeted us while sitting and sit anywhere. The beer selection is nothing short of amazing, and the draught beer list fills an A4 page with an option for every taste. What sealed it for me, however, was the ribs. These were, unquestionably, the finest ribs I have ever had. Ever. You could feed these ribs to a pensioner whose teeth had fallen out 10 years hence. So tender & moist. And flavoursome. If everything we ordered wasn't loaded with salt I'd honestly have really enjoyed it.
