Oh no.... Oh no, no, no. We won't be back. Here's what went down: we were visiting from out of town, looked for a bite to eat, our first pick restaurant was too busy, so we picked this place because we didn't know any better. But we should've known better than to pick a waffle place on a Saturday morning during 11am brunch rush. Onto the meh... - The wait time and tiny restaurant. Our party of 4 waited for 40 minutes outside. Why? We failed to realize... there are about 20 seats, maybe 7-8 tables in the entire sit down cafe. By the time we realized that, we already invested 20 minutes waiting in line. Bummer. - Tables took forever to turn over, and there weren't a lot of them. - Not good for groups over 2 people, and we had 4. We had bad luck because there was a family of 10 in front of us, 4 of which were unhinged children between the of ages 5-8. The noise that 4 children are capable of generating inside this tiny cafe was seriously impressive. This is beyond the cafe's control, but it just enhanced the fact that small sit down restaurants that make everything to order have really, really slow service, and the bitterness is exacerbated when you are surrounded by 3 foot gremlins on iPads watching Minecraft videos at 80% volume. - You could see the food being prepared in the kitchen and they were so clearly understaffed for the amount of people in the restaurant and orders to fill. Maybe 3 cashiers, 3 people preparing food. Aside from those things, the pros are the staff are friendly, the food was delicious, and everything is made to order. But unfortunately, after how that Saturday brunch rush panned out, I wouldn't say it's anything worth making a trek for. I can't look past how slow the service was. Hopefully they will figure out quicker way to turn tables, expand to patio seating, or just eliminate dine in altogether and stick to takeaway treats. read more

An amazing little breakfast nook in central Vancouver. It's a small restaurant so it fills up pretty quick around peak times, but if you can snag a spot then you're in for a treat. They have a selection of eggs benny and waffle dishes (both savoury and sweet) including vegetarian options. I went with a Veggie Bowl that had a mixture of cheese, mushroom, avocado, and peppers, topped with a poached egg. It was a very hearty, filling bowl. Just ate here this morning. I wasn't feeling like waffles so I had their Hot English Breakfast. I know it's an "English" breakfast, but it was beyond bland and uninteresting. Additionally, they want you to order and tip at the till, before being seated. Which is fine. I wish I would have waited paying the tip, because there was no service. They sat me outside and didn't check in on my once. No offer of butter or condiments for my toast. Dry toast, yum-not at all. The bacon and sausage were ok. No available medium roast or drip coffee. I found this restaurant here on Yelp. We only had to wait three minutes before ordering our food and sitting down at a table. We had our water and our coffees were given to us. We got an iced latte, which honestly tasted like water with a little bit of coffee. However, I got a hot mocha, which was amazing. Soon after, our food came out. I decided to try this restaurant for brunch. It was close to my hotel while I was on vacation. There was a line up for about 10-25 minutes as you need to wait for a table to be freed before you're seated. While waiting in line, the menu is literally staring at you while you can see the clients ordering and paying at the cashier and on the other hand, the waiter making their orders which smelled so good. I ordered the waffles with vanilla ice cream and it was the best I've ever had for a while! So sumptuous and the quality is consistent. The waffle was well made! I crushed it all within few minutes and the portions are definitely huge for what you pay. My order was brought to me within 10 minutes when I was seated. The service is amazing and it's a cute little place as well. I had jasmine tea accompanied with the waffle. A new breakfast spot that has opened close to my home of course I wanted to try! I really wanted to try their waffles but, when I saw the breakfast bowl it sounded tasty. Breakfast bowl included sausage, bacon, ham, cheese, peppers, onions, potatoes, egg, hollandaise, My breakfast bowl came it looked nice and even came with two slices of toast but, they weren't buttered which was sad. I wasn't even offered jam. I can't eat plain toast lol it was just so dry so I had to ask for some jam. How boring is plain toast lol On my bowl it felt like it was lacking hollandaise and salt. My bacon & sausage were cut not all the way through so when i picked it up it was stuck together like a strand of broken bacon or sausage. The smash potatoes weren't very smashed I had to cut them up my self. Also what I didn't like was how the cashier never washed her hands when she went back to work in the kitchen after handling the money from the customers she helped at the front. That's basic kitchen skills always wash your hands. Especially when you're touching money yuck! If I were to come back I'll only order waffles as my partner's waffles were tasty. Restaurant setting: The floor plan is small and cozy, two sides of the restaurant faces the street. Modern looking furniture, mostly fitting 2 seaters. One 3 seater table avilabe, there are extra chairs stacked in a hallway, so i suppose most tables can expand. This would be a good place for fast breakfast. Sweet waffle goodness. The restaurant is somewhat small, so be prepared to wait if you hit it up during prime breakfast/brunch hours. That being said, it's worth the wait. The waffle is wonderfully buttery, made even better with a heaping addition of whipped cream, berries, and the lightest, most perfect maple syrup ever. The price is a little high, but not outrageous, as it's a decently hefty breakfast. The latte, though, is basically just coffee + milk. No foam. Not worth the money. My "Continental Breakfast" was only $11.99+tax & for Vancouver...that's cheap! They fed a vegetarian a meat plate Not only was the service slow, they served me a meat dish when I ordered vegetarian. They continued to press me about it which I found ignorant because if I had not been eating meat for religious reasons they would be in some serious legal hot water. Just to get them to come over and check their mistake was a hassle and we were served with attitude. They finally (reluctantly) offered a refund which was in cash when we paid in card. My sister first introduced me to this place on a sister's weekend one year when we came down for the Christmas Market. It's a great location on Robson Street...and lucky for us it's just down the street from where we stay when in Vancouver! We usually work in a breakfast at this cute little place! My waffle of choice is The Royal Waffle...strawberries, chocolate and whipped cream...you can not go wrong with this combo! The waffles are just so good and the perfect texture...nice and crisp on the outside and light and tender on the inside! And then they add the fresh strawberries and Belgium Chocolate...wow just so good! Majesty 1 is my husband's favourite! Bananas, caramel, hazelnuts, whipped cream! There could have been even more that I am forgetting...this one is pretty amazing as well! I have never tried one of their savoury waffles cause you know when you've found something you love and you don't want stray too far from a good thing...that's how I feel with the Royal Waffle! Maybe next time we can share a sweet and a savoury and get the best of both worlds. We love to do that as a family so that we can try more of what's on the menu...without completely stuffing ourselves! The cappuccino's are also great here! The waffle was good, (waffles are hard to get wrong) but the sandwich had a lot of bread and the edges were hard and cut my mouth. It was a relatively inexpensive breakfast and filled us up. Not too long after we sat down, the staff brought out my green tea still steeping in a cute tea pot with a cup and saucer. My BF had coffee, which is actually an americano. We both ordered the waffle topped with scrambled eggs and bacon. It didn't take long for our order to arrive. Our server asked if we wanted salt and pepper and immediately brought it to us.
