Tres Leches - all so pretty and well stocked in the mornings! Go early! Get your cake!

Go early, but sometimes it does taste all the same - a little bit of the same flavors even though the baked items are different in appearance.

Mi Tradición located on the south end of a strip mall on 183 has a bakery and eatery co-located together. They do both takeout and dine-in. For dine-in, it's counter serve. Place your order up front, and then wait for them to call your name. A few menus are available for reference, but they also have cling-wrapped display plates that show you what certain dishes look like. There are some choice items that are pretty tasty. On the kitchen side, they primarily fashion blue corn masa into different shapes and sizes for holding a variety of toppings. Their tacos listed on their menu are a different. They are small in size, and not blue, and they only offer steak and pastor fillings. They come with lime, packets of salsa, and non-uniform radish slices. I prefer the options that come with blue. I like their quesadilla de calabacitas, and huaraches and picaditas order with their chicken tinga or chicharron en salsa roja. It's difficult to go wrong with any of their options. Their tacos de arroz are interesting. It's a blue corn tortilla filled with rice, and then something more substantial. I ordered a chile relleno one. The chile relleno was fried; so their tacos de arroz are on the heavier side. Once you order, you can pretty much sit where every you'd like. Their counter seating offers a partial view of their kitchen. There are booths along the wall. Bathrooms are in the back. A hand-washing station is located outside the bathrooms.

I was super overwhelmed by the different options they had! came pretty late at night and they still had a lot of items. the one thing was that none of the items were labeled when I went so I wasn't sure what a lot of things were. dubai chocolate strawberry concha: 7/10 the concha dough was still very soft even though it was probably out for a while. there was a little too much chocolate for me and not enough strawberries or knafeh! HEAVY on the sweet side but was a nice cheat meal dessert pumpkin concha: 8/10 I don't think it's actually pumpkin flavored, the filling inside tasted like chocolate. was a little bummed about that but it still was quite good regardless! the pink cookie was a basic cookie, very crumbly but not too sweet. it would've been great with coffee! the total came out to be like $10 which is a steal in my opinion. for the value and variety I would definitely come back!

Quick and comforting bakery and food at a reasonable price. This bakery is a local favorite, with many customers constantly coming and going. Food: The tacos and tortas are good, but they're not my absolute favorite. Still, I definitely recommend giving them a try since lots of people really love them. Service: The staff was friendly, and the service was efficient. Everyone was on top of it. Ambiance: Walking in for the first time can be a bit intimidating, especially when it's crowded and people are busy selecting their baked goods. However, everyone tends to mind their own business, so there's no need to worry.

These were so delicious!! I ordered the plate with five tacos - 3 bistec, 3 al pastor. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The bistec was juicy and the perfect consistency, the al pastor tacos had pineapple on them, a wonderful touch. I could tell this food was made with love and I will be ordering from this location again. Very affordable for the quality!!

Mi Tradición has the key to my heart and this bakery is hands down one of the best panaderias I've been to. This bakery features plenty of different options including churros, pan dulce, empanadas, donuts, pastel, bolillos, and so much more. What I enjoy most about this shop is the sensation of playing baker and getting to select your baked goods with your own metal pan and tongs. Maybe it's the inner child in me, but I dig it. I find myself always coming for one or two bolillos and I swear I won't be grabbing anything else; however, three minutes in I'm filling up the tray lol. My faves are these flaky pastries topped with raw sugar and filled with guava. I'm seriously drooling as I'm typing this. Their apple empanadas are delicious too! Everyone is super friendly here and there's a restaurant adjacent to it as well. Take a few moments to appreciate the baking process and the quality of their work.

    Tres Leches

This is a hidden gem with the best Tres Leches cake in Austin. I ordered a birthday cake from here and it did not disappoint. I took the cake home and decorated it myself. The price of the cake wasn't expensive at all. The service was fast and the employees all were very nice. Each time I visit there are always lots of people, but there is never a super long wait and it isn't too noisy. I've only ordered cakes but they have a lot of items on their menu to select from. Cakes are baked fresh daily which is a plus, and there is a large selection to choose from.

The place has two sections: a Mexican restaurant and a bakery. I didn't order any bread, but I did get a tacos de arroz and a zucchini huarache. The tacos de arroz came with a piece of breaded poblano stuffed with cheese. The pepper was delicious, though the bread was a bit too salty for my taste. The zucchini huarache was juicy and had a rich, complex flavor for a vegetable dish.

Love this place because it's a one stop shop for pan dulce and to grab lunch/dinner. One side is the bakery and the other side is the taqueria, which offers a variety of legit Mexican dishes. You can find flautas, chilles rellenos, blue corn quesadillas, tacos, tinga, gorditas, sopes. The best part is they allow modifications if you don't like certain ingredients. The tortas are quite hefty and very filling. I always judge a place by their salsa and theirs is actually spicy so they get bonus points from me! They have all the options for aguas frescas to go with your meal and service is prompt and friendly. Don't pass this up when you're in the Austin area.

This place reminds me of one of my favorite panaderias in Houston. You walk in and it's self serve of all the Mexican pastries one could want. Service is quick, efficient and friendly. It's located in a big strip mall with plenty of parking in the lot.

There are many things that make me love Mi Tradición. One of those things is the wide selection of amazing baked goods. From conchas to churros to cakes to empanadas, there is genuinely something for anyone here. Not only is the selection huge, but they are very affordable. And it's so fun just to throw stuff on your tray, even if you don't know what it is! Besides the bakery, the food side is solid as well. I've gotten tacos in the past and had to try the tortas. While the torta isn't the best I've ever had, it's definitely fantastic and one that I would want again. There are a variety of flavors to try so I'm looking forward to it! Lastly, you've gotta try the horchata. Seriously some of the best I've had in Austin! Love this place altogether!

I love the green soft chairs, the tables, and the chef statue greeting you as you pull in front of the building. He's right there in the window. The bistro honestly takes your breath away. I love it! So in the last two weeks, I've been back exactly four times. My first introduction was the Croissant Scramble with chicken and veggies inside, with the Arnold Palmer. My friend got the Croissant Scramble with brisket. The presentation of the croissants when brought to the table blew me away. It was wrapped up in the cutest paper with the ends twisted. The topic of conversation was how good the croissants were. Before we left, we ordered some delicious cookies. The chocolate chips were yummy. So I went the following day and grabbed some pastries! One in particular was the Pecan Bar. The following week, another friend and I stopped in for the Chicken Pesto Omelet. I like that the fire-roasted bell peppers and onions are cooked, if that's the right word. But l have to tell you, the Mexican Hot Chocolate drink brings on the flavor, as does the ice-cold Mocha. Of course, we got the Pecan Bar for dessert. So yes, I went back yesterday for the Almond Croissant. I know, I know!

When I arrived, I was told the cake wasn't ready and was asked if I could come back the next morning--which obviously didn't work given the timing of the event. As a substitute, they offered me a pre-made cake from their display case and assured me it was chocolate like I originally ordered, just with a chocolate mousse filling. They refunded me $15 to account for the difference, and I felt pressured to accept since I needed something for the dinner that night. Unfortunately, the situation got worse from there. When we cut into the cake, it turned out to be confetti--not chocolate. Then, when we tried to eat it, it was clearly stale, dry, and inedible. No one touched it after the first bites. It completely missed the mark for what was supposed to be a special moment. What's especially frustrating is that I ordered from them last year for the same occasion, and everything went perfectly--that's why I trusted them again. This time, however, it was a complete letdown from start to finish. When I called the next day to request a refund, I asked to speak with a manager but was told that wasn't possible. Instead, I was told I would only be offered a partial refund because I accepted the replacement cake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and quality here was really disappointing--especially for something as important as a birthday celebration.
