holy cow. I really like their pizza. I have been to different locations. this McKinney location off of custer/eldorado is closest to us and next door from where we get our pedicures:) we go often. This location/management/employees/stocking/customer service/friendliness and probably more lack beyond measure. They rarely have plates, parmigiana cheese, pepper flakes out and accessible. wine/beer/drinks in the case are always missing/lacking and the beers -two beer taps are rarely working. the guy tonight gave zero f's about customers/his duties/or other employees. after our pedicures next door, my husband came to order while my daughter and I finished up. I got there 8 minutes later and they were waiting on their order. I grabbed a bottle of wine and waited for someone to ring me out. and waited. and waited. and Zero acknowledgement I was there. Another guy came in with a to go order issue, and they could not have cared less.. finally the girl swamped, assembling pizzas acknowledged I was there and apologized, 5 minutes later. the guy manning the stove was a waste. I get it is hard to get and retain employees, but he was worthless and my pizza was toast! over done and this has never been an issue at mod. The iPad machines for payment default to tips? I wait forever for them to wait on me, get my own pizza (which was way over cooked because the dude didn't give a shit) and I bus my own table? drinks were half stocked, pizza was way too over done, no condiments were out nor plates accessible and no one cares. it really is a mess in here. maybe worth driving to the Allen location. we have yet to have a 4 or 5 star experience In the 20+ times we have been here. boo. get it together! read more

This is my new favorite pizza place! I actually want to go in and sit down to eat instead of just taking it to go! The people there are friendly and fun and the atmosphere is uplifting. Salads are great, the pizza is outstanding, the milkshakes are thick and wonderful, and you can't beat the price! Great modern concept for brick oven pizza. Good Pizza for a Good Price! Comparing MOD Pizza to Pie Five: If you've been to MOD Pizza, you've probably been to Pie Five (or at least heard of it) as well. My family and I have been going to Pie Five for about half a year now, we've been meaning to give MOD a try since they are the same concept - a build your own personal pizza with as many ingredients as you want for no additional charge - well, I'm happy to say that we finally tried MOD Pizza! All 3 of us thought that the crust was better at MOD - which is an important part of the pizza! MOD uses an actual oven to cook their pizzas in, so you get a tastier, crunchier crust. So far, MOD has a slight advantage over Pie Five. (It's your own 11-inch pizza, although you do have the option to get a "Mini" (6-inch)). The sauce is about the same as what Pie Five has to offer - they're both good. The toppings are about the same as well, although we thought MOD had a few more ingredients - so also a slight advantage over Pie Five here. As far as the price, I'd have to check (even though I'm currently writing a review) but I'm pretty certain that MOD was roughly 25cents more - so really (really) about the same price for a better pizza. I'd definitely recommend trying MOD - it's good, the employees are friendly, and I love the personalization of your own pizza. read more

I don't know if the management changed or what but this location continues to disappoint me. All the workers want to do is flirt with each other instead of helping customers. They use to greet you when walking in and now you just get a nasty glare from a teenage girl that's putting all her energy into flirting with her coworker. They don't immediately help me anymore. They will wait to finish their conversation and give side eyes as if I'm interrupting. Once again today this girl was so busy flirting with her coworker that she ignored me as I walked in and continued flirting with the guy taking the pizzas out of the oven...then she was so eager to get back to speaking with him that she rushed and cut my pizza terribly. This happens so often now...the employees rushing putting ingredients on...rushing and taking the pizzas out prematurely...rushing and cutting it haphazardly....like ya'll can't hang out outside of work? I'm not sure whats going on because I used to come here for the great service. I'd honestly rather make the longer drive to go to the new location on stacy. It seems as the managers are too worried trying to be friends with the teenage employees to actually care about whether they are giving good service or not. read more

I have been to MOD multiple times and the one in Midlothian is amazing, so expected this visit to be amazing too. It wasn't. We went on a Saturday afternoon and we were the second in line and it was empty. The ladies were less than thrilled to be working and service was slow. I found it strange because all other MOD's get super busy and work diligently to get the line moving but here with 2 people in line, there was no rush at all. After placing the meat on the pizza, she tried to put in oven without even asking about vegetables. The restaurant wasn't clean and tables were dirty. This place is not clean and needs to focus on hygiene in their restaurants. One of the worst nightmares for guests has been experience of insects, bugs, ants and poisoning after eating in a restaurant or some other hospitality facility. The price you pay for not taking care of hygiene and cleanliness in your hospitality facility is very expensive. We checked this place out for the first time today after hearing from friends how good it was. We were not disappointed!! The staff was so friendly and definitely made us feel welcomed and our business appreciated! We all decided to do a build your own pizza. I did the double dough with garlic cream sauce, mozzarella, Asiago, Parmesan cheese, bacon, pepperoni, salami, Canadian bacon, black olives, and some oregano. The pizza was awesome!! I couldn't have been more pleased! The crust was so crispy and the pizza was so cheesy and the bacon on there made it perfect. My family loved their pizza just as much as I did. We come here every Friday! Why? All 3 kids eat all of there food and so do we! We get a pizza to ourselves and are stuffed when we leave. We also earn rewards that get us a free pizza on some visits. The hubs and I came in on a Sunday night and the place was super busy, so busy tending the line that the entire restaurant was filthy. The lovely young lady making some pizzas wearing gloves not only kept touching her face and hair but she loudly complained about a previous customer still in the line. We have been to Mods in Colorado and the energy level of the employees is so upbeat. Coming into here it is very quiet. The topping are fresh but their choice of adding flies to the menu is very interesting. It is fall here and their are more flies inside then outside. Hopefully the heat will kill the fly eggs on my pizza. My daughters gluten free crust tastes like it was wrapped in plastic and after tasting it I could not eat my pizza. The drive out here was a waste of time. With my daughter and granddaughter's allergy we can only eat so many places. Well this place is off our list. read more

My first time ever to MOD Pizza was as a plus-one to a yelp elite event. I have to say this was probably one of my most favorite yelp elite events I have been to yet, and I have been to quite a few. The customer service was outstanding. Our waitress flew in from Seattle for the special event, her name was Tiara. My friends invited me to this event knowing that they had some vegan cheese option on their pizza, and since I am vegan and I decided to join along. When I arrived the waitress Tiara helped me with picking my choices and was very catering to vegan friendly options. My pizzas even arrived before everybody else's. She suggested the garlic rub on at least one pizza and I'm so glad I did, it was amazing! I found out that the restaurant does not charge extra for vegan cheese versus regular cheese, and no extra charges for all the veggie toppings I want! The food was really good and the customer service was even better. I would definitely go back time and time again and recommend as many people as I can! read more

Went for lunch yesterday. Line moved at a good pace. Made my own pizza and loved it. Husband loved his salad. The no name cakes at the register are really good. These quick pizza places are popping up all over the place. The food is good here, and quick. My only complaint, and reason for 3 stars, is that when I grabbed a plate from the pile of plates, I had to put the first 4 back into the dirty plate area. There's no excuse for not making sure the individual plates are clean before putting them out for customers. That's kind of nasty to me and unappetizing.
