We've been here a few times since my initial review and I can tell you that every time, we've had a wonderful meal. This past Saturday we went back and had a fantastic time. We asked for our usual waiter Jay Michael and got him. Awesome server. Very attentive and made it a special time. Best wait-person I've ever seen. Joe from the bar-area was very sweet. When he saw us waiting for our table hunched around one seat at the bar, he let us sit at his table until our table was ready. This is a great example of why Morton's is different. You get real five-star service here. This is not just a good restaurant, it's a great restaurant. Everything from the food to the service to the management. We've had Mark for the manager for all of our visits and he's such a consumate professional. Genuine concern about our comfort, he checked on us frequently while we waited for our table. The only reason we had to wait was that I misjudged the traffic and we arrive a half hour early. Even with that, they were able to get us a table before we finished our second drink at the bar. So, let's dig in. The apps were the bacon-wrapped mozzarella which were perfectly cooked and lasted less than two seconds. Yummy. The lobster ravioli were very good for flavor but a little more watery than I would like. For the mains I had a special request. I was in the mood for chicken but ordering chicken in a steakhouse seemed crazy to me. So I asked and was able to change the filet/lobster-tail meal for filet/chicken. Absolutely perfect. Checked all the boxes and was very satisfying. These guys cook steak perfectly. My wife had the salmon and was very pleased. My daughter went for the filet Oscar style (again) and it was outstanding. I would say that the Oscar filet is probably my favorite entry from them. Blue crab and filet with a creamy thick sauce. Wonderful. Great sides included asparagus, loaded potatoes and lyonnaise potatoes. But my favorite is the corn soufflé. Apple crisps and açaí ice cream rounded out the meals nicely. Another nicety was the whiskey flights. Three high quality whiskeys each in Glen-cairn glasses was excellent. Today I tried it in old fashioned dress. Each whiskey was prepared as an old fashioned. So you get to sample different whiskeys prepared with the same ingredients. Nice! Now I know which whiskey I prefer out of these three whiskeys in an old fashioned. When I'm out I order old fashioned's mostly unless I'm going to go neat with higher end stuff. This was a great experience and a lot of fun. You can get them neat as well which I've done before. Since Hamershley's Bistro closed I've been trying to find a replacement for my favorite restaurant in Boston and I think that this Morton's is it. I wish they'd bring back the table side steak cut selection though. Maybe make it a special night for regulars. Just a thought. ;) read more

You can't beat Morton's for being an excellent high-end restaurant. Well decorated with low (but not dim) lighting, quality tablecloths and nice, heavy silverware. Beautiful glassware for wines and mixed drinks. The service is top notch from the hostess to the valet and the wait staff. Danielle was simply excellent at taking care of our table of five tonight. Attentive and at the same time, silent like a ninja. She understood the tone of our little party and gave as well as she got. Well done. Some of our party arrived early and had starters and a round of drinks in the bar so I wouldn't be able to tell you about the appetizers in the main dining room. We were seated right one time for our reservation. Five dudes and therefore, five steaks around the table. We also had two orders of the au gratin potatoes and one each broccoli and Brussels sprouts. I chose the Prime Ribeye and while the steak was cooked and plated perfectly, I found it to be a rather "mushy" cut of steak. Only a little fat on the cut. It was very close to being 16 ounces and it was tasty with the bourbon au poivre sauce. It was just okay, especially when considering the $50+ cost for just the steak. Broccoli was excellent and al dente. The potatoes were excellent and cheesy. The roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon were a mix with some being underdone and some perfect. I let myself be peer-pressured into dessert. The Crème Brulée was very good with a hard sugar shell on top and creamy underneath. Yum. Bonus points for Danielle at the end. I was wondering where my leftover steak went, since we'd paid our check and I never saw it come back to the table. It was actually boxed and bagged right next to my seat, "I didn't want to interrupt the conversation." NICE! read more

Hmmm by the looks of this place it's expensive BUT they have a bar bites menu! This teeny menu is what brought me here :). The menu is offered 4:30-6:30pm and also after 9pm. The bar was deserted, only 2 other people, more room for us!! We had the truffle matchstick fries, the cheeseburgers and the crab BLTs. The fries were delicious but cooled off quickly because they were so thin ($7). The cheeseburgers were good but a little overdone ($8). I like my meat medium rare and these were well done. Still worth getting! I really enjoyed the crab blts ($9). Decent mini crab party and the sauce was good too. Nice and soft. We also had drinks! We ordered delivery so this review is fully based on the packing and taste of the food: I've have been hunting a deliciously cooked wagyu beef from a steakhouse ever since I cooked one myself with a filet from Sevenor. The 7oz wagyu filet mignon caused over $70. But it arrived in a tiny alumni tray where all the sauce/juice leaked out in the bag. Accident during delivery is understandable, but i feel an expensive steakhouse should put more effort in packaging. The steak was very hard and chewy. Didn't have the "umami" taste that wahyu steak usually possesses, I can't tell the marbling of the fat and it definitely didn't taste like the tender wagyu beef which is rich and melts in your mouth. Overall, I'm very disappointed with the experience I had with Morton's. read more

This review is specifically referencing a visit recently with a team of co-workers as we got ready for a holiday celebration at a neighboring venue. The took a reservation for our party of 8 with high top tables facing the windows which also made people watching fun. The service of our wait staff was exceptional; attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, supporting and accommodating. Oh, and a great sense of humor to keep us laughing and on our toes whenever needed. The bar bites were delicious. We samples most things on the menu, but particular favorites included the Short Rip Steak Tacos!! They were fabulous and required another order so all could enjoy. The Tuna Tacos were crunchier with a little zip to them while the mini crab cake BLTS were good too. The potato chips and Parmesan truffle french fries were also a big hit that required refilling as others joined our little party. You can actually talk to each other without screaming. One of the reasons we picked Morton's besides the excellent food. We were a group of 7. Fantastic steak - one of the best I've had maybe ever. We came for Valentine's day and got to try a little bit of everything with the pre fixe menu. The lobster bisque was delicious, filet and lobster tail were cooked perfectly, and the key lime pie at the end was the perfect palate cleanser. The meal came with a bottle of wine, but we also tried the signature cocktail (hibiscus kiss) which was good and very photogenic, but not worth the price - mine was more watered down than I was expecting. Overall we had a great experience - my only con is that they really rush you during dinner. I know the pre fixe stuff is all ready to go in the kitchen, but had we not asked for some time to digest we would have been in and out of there in 60 minutes - including time to pay the bill! Our server was super friendly and was able to slow down the food service so we could actually enjoy the experience and I'm grateful for that. From the start of our first drink order it went down hill... 8 of us and over a hour for drinks ,then they were wrong,cold coffee, parts of orders missing, one dish was horrible and was to be removed from the bill but wasn't when asked to speak to a manager 3 times the assistant manager Tom Lambrecht was very dismissive and snobby, we spend over 1,200 and will never be back!!! My husband and I usually go here for special occasions because they have good ambience, service and food. Last Sunday is our first time coming here for restaurant week. We can tell there is a difference. The soups, the steaks and the desserts are good but the side dishes are not at all. They tasted like from a box of frozen vegetables. As a good high end restaurant, there is no room for mistakes. Any little element will give a bad taste to the customers. That is the difference between a good restaurant than a mediocre one. If your restaurant decide to do the Restaurant Week, please make it a good one then the customers will remember and come back next time. Otherwise it will ruin your reputation. read more

Came here for a work dinner. Typical steakhouse classy vibe inside. Our menu was limited but I had their Caesar's salad to start which was delicious, then came the filet mignon. I asked the waiter for my typical medium rare and I was informed it would be cold inside since it's a thick piece of meat. So I told them I would follow his recommendation to avoid a cold steak...the steak came well done which was fairly disappointing. Never ran into this issue before. Tonight as we were headed to town I found the need to contact Morton's as we were in heavy traffic, I just called Morton's, as traffic is unbelievable crazy. Manager Mark answered. Told him about reservation. He asked me "did anyone contact you and say that a private party was paying good money, and they don't want people to be walking around unnecessarily." Mark told me that he was moving us to a high boy table. I said I don't sit there as I am short and I don't like those type of tables. As a manager, knowing a person has a reservation, you would think he was kind enough to let me know what was taking place there this evening. He wanted to know if I wanted to eat outside. I said absolutely not. Weather is going to change and possibly rain, there was no way we were going to eat outside. I then said why didn't anyone contact me. I made this reservation some time ago on Open Table as I always do. I then said why didn't anyone contact me. He neglected to answer my question. He said he would figure out something. After discussing what transpired in this phone call as we were on our way to Boston, I decided that Morton's would not get our business tonight. This is NOT the first time we were given this type of treatment, so I thought it would be best to try a competitor of theirs! I contacted another amazing restaurant that was happy to accommodate us on a last minute call. I contacted Morton's and canceled the reservation and said since our reservation is such an issue there with another party, we are canceling. The person answered the phone and was relieved to hear our cancellation and said he would let Manager Mark know I called. Me, my husband and two boys went for Easter dinner. My kids love Capital Grill but we decided to try a new steakhouse. The ambiance was nice and the waitress lovely but the food was not great. We paid over $400 for really bland steak. It wasn't a lack of flavor, the steaks had no flavor at all. I was also surprised at how hard it was to cut. Usually a good filet cuts like butter. The sides were good so that made up for it a little. But it's a steakhouse. That's what people go for. I should have said something but it was busy and a holiday so I didn't. So I have to rate this with 2 stars cause the servers were fantastic. However my visit here was anything but what a fine dining experience should be. I was invited to a dinner to celebrate someone's 22nd birthday and it all went crazy. she had some of those numbered helium balloons. Another patron came up and stabbed one of the numbers. Fair to say nothing went well after that. I was more than amazed that something like that could happen in such a fine dining establishment. It was rude, unexpected and unsafe. It was a reminder that ppl anywhere could do anything at any time. Management didn't do anything about the situation. I know it was out of their control, but something should have happened to the patron that stabbed the balloon. Not to mention she was waving that steak knife around after the incident. It's only at the bar. The hours are reasonable and you get their top notch food for such a deal! The cheeseburgers are to die for - MUST GET. Mice! Been to other Morton's in most cities. Don't go to this one! I was there this evening and saw several mice as did other patrons. The waitress saw it as well and sent the manager over. He did offer to comp our entire meal. However when it came time to pay the tab the bill was full besides him saying he took off a few drinks! Morton's is a well-known brand to many and the name creates certain expectations in one's mind before visiting. This location (not far from BCEC) probably won't disappoint you, although it won't surprise you either. Its proximity to the business hotels in the area ensures a steady flow of traffic here and it was quite full the night we arrived. Dining here on a business occasion, I went straight for the protein and enjoyed the prime rib (see picture), tender, juicy, well-seasoned and nicely done. My side dishes weren't particularly memorable but did nothing to upset my enjoyment of the delicious beef. Service was fast, attentive, friendly and earned the waitstaff a sizable tip. Prices are high as you might expect looking at the neighborhood, but not off-putting. I would not make a special trip here, but if I was in Boston, I'd definitely return if I was looking for a solid steak dinner. read more

I have been here numerous times and I definitely think their steak and seafood special is a great deal. You get a choice of a salad. I usually get the center cut iceberg salad which is really good with thousand island dressing. The steak is the filet mignon, and you get a choice of shrimp, crab cakes or scallops. The filet is good. I usually get the scallops which are wrapped in bacon. You also get to choose one side and a dessert. For sides, I definitely recommend the creamed corn, or lyonnaise potatoes. For dessert, their molten chocolate cake w/raspberry sorbet is a must! Their complimentary onion bread is always warm and fresh. They also have bar bites during happy hour which is a good deal. I was always a fan of the steaks at Mortons. My family and I have been celebrating my birthday here for the past few years. They've always taken our picture but kind of sad it didn't happen this year :( Parking is not the worse here, street parking around the corner and lots of private lots/garages and valet. We initially thought we were there for the Dine Out Boston menu but turns out they didn't do Saturdays. Not an issue for us as the main reason we came together was to catch up! We ordered off the normal menu, I got the Zabuton steak. I didn't expect it to be already cut when served but it was cooked to perfection. It was an 8 oz steak, not dry at all! I think that was a great choice. The fries were very very thin but crispy. We didn't get to finish it and it was cleared right after we finished our entrees :( The brussel sprouts were good, just needed to add a small bit more of salt and pepper. Overall, a good experience! The bread and butter here are still my favorite and would definitely recommend Morton's. Came here for a work trip and fell in love with their cheesecake. It is MASSIVE. It should feed two people!!! It's dense, creamy, and rich in every possible way, probably because it stands around 2.5 inches tall or so. The crust is not too hard and slightly crumbly! Also got the 10 oz. steak :) Fantastic quality and great service. Well-marbled meat and cooked to perfection - just the way you ask for it. Compared to other steakhouses like Houston's or Fleming's, I don't think Morton can compete as well, but I'm mainly praising the cheesecake. read more

Where should I start.. I made a reservation for my mom's birthday celebration on a Tuesday night. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and the manager? It was just the beginning of a series of birthday greetings. There was a birthday message on the paper menu, and the server again said happy birthday. We started with a bottle of merlot; Morton is serious about wine. It has extensive wine menu and the many wine cabinets in the restaurant pretty much say it all. Since it was restaurant week we thought it would be a great deal to get it. Indeed, you can't beat the price and quality of food here. Bread to start: warm gigantic bread that came with cream. It's tempting to eat it all but we resisted. Appetizers: -Clam chowder: tasted like Canned chowder. It wasn't bad but no thanks. +salads: the two salads were slightly better; pretty small portions. The appetizers weren't impressive. Entrees: +pork chop: cooked to medium. This was by far the best pork chop I've had so far in my life. Very tender, soft and it was seasoned perfectly. When asked how I wanted the chop cooked, I didn't know what to answer because I thought it had to be cooked well done. The size was bigger compared to the filet mignon. I loved it! +filet mignon: again, tender. It wasn't seasoned enough or maybe it lacked some Sauce with it? It was good nonetheless. +salmon: decent entree but it wasn't impressive; I never expected it to be anyway. Sides: +creamed corn: delicious side but a little too sweet to my liking. +broccoli: can't go wrong with broccoli.. +Mashed potato: delicious and not overly done. Desserts: +cheesecake: great cheesecake but it's A little too salty. Not a problem. -chocolate mousse: eh it's okay. Service was top notch. Our server go above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our experience. We also got a complimentary photo taken and printed as a souvenir. The Seaport is more than a hop, skip, and jump away from the Boston Downtown arena, but I headed out there for lunch on August 13th because they were celebrating National Filet Mignon Day (gee, there's a day for just about everything!) with $1 petite filet mignon sandwiches all day at the bar. And I wasn't the only one who had this splendid idea, as there was a cluster of folk following right behind me as I walked through their door. I don't know if this was their first year doing this or what, but they were a tad overwhelmed with the orders placed for sandwiches ranging from a pair to an entire platterful at a time. A couple of fellas seated at the table behind me was more than a bit upset at the length of their wait, and they let the manager know. Whether in the usual completed state, deconstructed, or directly stashed in a take-out container, my sandwich orders were each respectfully taken and fulfilled. The only misstep being that my server neglected to ask me how I wanted my beef to be prepared on my initial order. Thus, I ended up with slices served medium between the toasted buns. No recompense were offered - not even to rush a do-over of my order of 4, but rather I was encouraged to just try them as they were. Since I placed a 2nd order of 2 immediately, and each was but a buck that day, I decided to let it pass despite the fact that though a single thicker slice was acceptable in tenderness, the other thinner ones were on the dry side and not particularly enjoyable. The mustard mayonnaise, however, did much to make amends for the dry beef. My next plate of two was served medium rare as requested and such a difference! These were more than satisfactory and were an utter enjoyment to consume! 4 stars for the medium rare filet mignon sandwiches 2 stars for the medium Before posting this review, I had a thought - shouldn't the default when no selection is offered or taken be the chef's recommendation? Sub-par in terms of food and service to Del Friscos across the street. The decor is nice though, with a black and white theme that reminds me of a black tie event. Service was good, but a bit understaffed (one to two waitstaff during lunch) - we waited a decent amount of time just for the check to come by. As for the actual steak, again, I prefer Del Friscos across the street. It's juicier and more tender IMO, and about the same price. Plus, Morton's literally has no view, unless you like to people watch joggers in the small park next door. Way to be creepy. read more

The management here is amazing. The food, unbelievable. The view, best in the city if you are at the right table (which we were). We were enjoying everything to it's fullest, except our server. NY strip was cooked perfectly, same with the filet. Asparagus, was also cooked perfectly. I would return just for the lobster bisque. We haven't been out for months, so please be aware that touching your mask, your face, re-arranging our silverware every time you come to the table etc. is making us uncomfortable. We also were clearly having a much needed date night, and were interrupted constantly. We would have had desert, but wanted to go. Solid 4 stars. We came in for an easy going dinner meal. The service was excellent, we wanted for nothing. The steaks came out cooked to perfection, I had the 8 oz Wagyu filet. I could cut my steak with my fork. The sides were the real disappointment. Our mashed potatoes were very bland and the creamed spinach was decent at best. We will be back someday. Until then, I hope that Morton's works on their sides. I would give them 5 stars if they do. Bottom Line: A great steakhouse to visit. Just forego the sides and pig out on meat. Let's get busy with some deets: We were greeted at the entrance by an impressive maître Dee and started the evening with class. My One and I came here for the $99.00 Meal Deal which offered Two Apps, Two Entrées, One "Sharable" Side and a Dessert and a bottle of Wine. It was completely empty in the dining area probably due to that it was Labor Day Eve and it was raining wicked hard out. It was potentially nice and quiet in Morton's but thanks to group of rowdy "grown ups" at the bar, loud screams and howling and high-pitched guffaws ruined the potential romantic setting. Moey and I asked to be moved as far as possible from these "people." This is absolutely unacceptable at this kind of establishment and they should have be removed as it as beyond rude and completely negates any pleasant/relaxing vibes. These "people" had zero awareness of their behavior or concern for others. I realize they were simply having fun but take it elsewhere, bro, please... We decided to each order the Lobster Bisque and the Filet Mignon and shared a side of Horseradish Mashed and Molten Lava Cake and the Pinot Noir. Another person brought our Bisques which were Onion Soups. Oops. No biggie. We flagged down our waiter and he returned with the LBs which tasted great and contained a couple small chunks of lobster meat. The steaks came out and were just the two 8-oz pieces on plates with the juice slopping about the plate with no garnish or any type of "presentation" and had no sauce option or seasoning. This is a Meal Deal but it would make a huge diff if Morton's would pimp out the presentation with at least something basic. He announced the rare and the medium rare and placed each accordingly but they were wrongly placed as we quickly discovered as we cut in. This somewhat took most of the festivus out of the dining experience by this point. And it made for awkward vibes as he politely tried to decipher each when he came back to the table to check on us. The steak was OK but really not tender but I'm sure not really their fault as they get standard shipments. It was just kinda meh meat. Not bad, just OK... Needless to say the wine was not very good nor did we expect anything other than a "two-buck chuck" type in a Meal Deal. The Molten Lave Cake was good and rich and we received a crème brulee as a freebie (and the bean) compensation for the small errors that occurred. Not sure why this restaurant got less than 5 stars. Food, service, drinks....all amazing. We were in Boston to celebrate my birthday and decided to try this place because it was walking distance to our hotel. And by walking distance I mean 50 feet away:) We got the Vespa drink (2 rounds) and the blackberry mojito. The Vespa was by far the best cocktail I've ever had, perfect amount of sweet/tart. Normally, I stick with wine at a steakhouse but the drinks were so refreshing and delicious. We got the shrimp cocktail, filets, au gratin potatoes, and sour cream mashed potatoes. Steaks were cooked perfectly and everything came out like clockwork. Our waitress (and other staff) was very attentive and helpful with menu (annoying gluten free customer here) and drink suggestions. For dessert, we got the creme brûlée which was also delicious. For the people complaining about the prices....it's a steakhouse...you get what you pay for. I would definitely return! read more

We chose Morton's for our Anniversary dinner. The service was excellent - our waitress was great, and we were greeted and seated promptly, with a warm welcome. As with most upscale steakhouses, menu items were ala carte, even the flavored butter. The drink menu was extensive. Those are the positives. My husband ordered a bibb salad (that was outstanding!) and a strip steak, and I ordered the 8 oz. Wagyu beef cap steak special, it was a $79 cut of meat. I ordered it medium, as was suggested by the waitress, which should have been "some pink." It definitely came out far more rare, it was mostly red and chewy, and it did not resemble it's photo at all. The flavor was decent, but the texture...not so much. I would expect better from a place that specializes in steaks. I am not one to send anything back, especially if it means not getting to enjoy my meal with my partner, so I ate most of it, but it definitely was not what I would have called an enjoyable experience. My husband did enjoy his steak. They were sweet and brought us a molton lava cake, on the house, to share for our Anniversary. That was a nice touch, and delicious. Together we had five drinks - a glass of Riesling, a beer, and three cocktails. The bill, even after using a $100.00 gift card, was well over $200.00 with tip. $300 + dollars for what we ordered was a little surprising. Go elsewhere. There are so many other steakhouses in the area within walking distance more worthy of your well earned money. The service was terrible. The waiter, Dave, was very opinionated and told us not to order too much food. Huh? Trying not to be completely negative but I have not one positive thing to say. They even threw out my leftover entree when I asked to have it wrapped saying they didn't understand my request. Food was awful anyway but they didn't even take it off of my check. read more
