I went to Moxies on a friday around 7pm with my boyfriend celebrating our one year. we didn't book reservations so we were weary about if we were going to get seated or not because it was busy and booming. But we got sat right away. Our waiter and hostess were great, quick, and kind. We both ordered the ramen. Me ordering the miso ramen and my boyfriend ordering the pork belly ramen. It is the best ramen I have ever had!!! The food came quick and our server checked on us throughout the night. I recently went to Moxies on a Monday evening during a work trip with some colleagues and it was fantastic! It was nice that they were open pretty late even on a Monday evening and were able to accommodate a party of ~8 last minute. A very cool vibe all around, they offered us indoor or outdoor seating, and when we said indoor asked if we wanted to walk upstairs or use the elevator (a really nice option to have). The seating and ambiance of the whole place was cool and comfortable. The menu is awesome; really playful and diverse at decent prices for what it is and where you are. I have a unique taste in food and rarely find myself struggling to choose between options, but that's exactly where I found myself at Moxies with both food and drinks. I'm a sucker for a good salad so couldn't help but to try the kale & quinoa salad with blackened shrimp and ended up trying The Marky Marg, which was refreshing and absolute perfection in drink form. The waitstaff was really friendly and attentive, and all of my colleagues enjoyed what they got here as well. Truly a 10/10 experience, I couldn't suggest going here more. read more

Came for drinks and appetizers on a busy Saturday night. Great vibes inside with a crowd ranging from mid-20s to older folks. Can accommodate larger and smaller parties! The spicy tuna roll was great, but we really enjoyed the guacamole with seasoned tortilla chips. Had a few mishaps with the drinks, but all was resolved with extremely attentive waitstaff. We headed over to Moxies for an early dinner and drinks (3:45pm). The hostess said there were no tables available as the ENTIRE restaurant had reservations starting at 4:30. She said we could go to the bar. Which we did, where we watched at least 10 empty tables sit for the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Espresso martinis with baileys ($20.00 each - way too sweet, I did not finish mine. My husband thought it was ok, but would not get it with baileys again. We waited close to 20 minutes trying to catch the bartenders eye to order some food. We got the pork pot stickers with mango salsa - good. Pork belly ramen - very good and my husband ordered the Caesar Salad with blackened chicken. The chicken was not a traditional blackened chicken, it was was more like coated in Cajun seasoning and baked-not blackened. We wanted to order a couple of more drinks, but we sat for almost 30 minutes just trying to get one of the bartenders to acknowledge us. When one of them finally did, we closed out the tab. My fiancée and I really enjoyed our experience at Moxies. We ordered the nachos and a burger and both were so good. The nachos were huge and would've been enough but we're glad we tried both. We wanted to try the mocha cake but we were so full we couldn't do it. However, Jon, our awesome waiter, convinced us to drop by the next night to try it out. When we showed up the next night, Jon was super welcoming and made us feel like royalty, taking us on a grand tour of the beautiful upstairs and balcony. To our surprise, Pablo from the kitchen brought out a slice of cake on the house. The Moxies team made us feel super welcome and we look forward to returning on our next trip to Boston. It has a great location and a beautiful venue. There is outdoor seating but not adjacent to the water. I ordered the calamari appetizer and the shrimp tacos. The appetizer was ok and so was the entree. I wish the shrimp tacos had more flavor. Service was ok but could have been better. read more

While the view from the second floor patio was nice, the food was underwhelming and the service was even worse. We ordered drinks and apps which the food runner brought over but after that our server just disappeared until almost an hour later another one came over to see if anyone had been over. By far the worst restaurant experience we've had in years! Including the night a bartender broke a glass into their ice well and tried to continue serving drinks out of it! We arrived early for our reservation on a busy night so we understood a small wait but after watching the entire lobby empty out while we sat there for 25mins after our initial reservation time. When we finally were seated, the waitress dropped waters and disappeared. I had to go out back and find her in the dish pit (on my way to the bathroom) - I explained that we had already been waiting an hour and honestly just wanted to place our drink order. She finally took our drinks and we quickly asked to just place the whole food order. We were more than a little worried we'd never see her again to place another order! The guest of honor for our group (10ppl) is celiac and was very clear when ordering her food that she cannot eat gluten. 15 minutes later, a supervisor came over and informed us that the nachos and in fact nothing fried is available GF. We asked why it took 15mins to figure that out and they had no answers. At this point the guest of honor (GOH) was basically in tears and didn't want to order anything else for herself. We told the waitress we'd still take the nachos since others were eating them as well. We discussed walking out but most were of the opinion "we've waited this long, it can't be much longer for nachos, salads, and poutine!" The poutine arrives... for a Canadian proud restaurant, it was mediocre at best and was not the advertised cheese curds but shredded cheddar cheese. After this I went and asked for a manager and explained the situation. The person who told me she was a manager (later learned only a sup) came upstairs and after trying multiple times to convince the GOH to order something else apologized and offered free desserts which we declined. 15mins later, we finally see the waitress again and ask how long until the food arrives. She goes to check and then we are visited by manager #3 of the night who smiles with her iPad and says "I heard we had some folks here interested in dessert?" Honestly, we all saw red and just started dumping all of the issues and mistakes of the night to her but were interrupted as our food started to arrive. First item dropped is a large plate of Luke warm chicken tacos with congealed cheese that had obviously been made more than a few minutes ago. We turned to the 2 managers and the waitress standing behind us, said we're done and leaving. After 2 hours, 1 round of bad drinks, and only 2 dishes... we asked for a drink bill and they comped the whole thing. It was the least they could do! I'll be honest by this point, our language got a bit tough and we swore a few times, you would too if you waited all that time to get cold food and an apathetic staff. The manager told us not to swear in front of her and then proceeded to swear to her staff in Portuguese! TLDR? - we showed up early for reservation - they told us half a dozen times 5mins 5mins - an hour later (25mins after our reservation) we were sat - waitress was barely present and less than helpful - gluten allergy ignored on item and only caught 15mins later - food we did get was cold or not as advertised - drinks were all mixer and watery - guest of honor was so upset she decided not to eat - staff kept trying to apologize w/ free dessert while we waited on basic food - so bad that half the table took the Exec GM's info to call and complain - ruined the night and 10 people are going home hungry - staff were rude and disrespectful - we've all worked in a busy restaurant and sometimes you have a bad night but this was beyond unnecessary - if I could give zero stars, I would. Could NOT count on this place to honor a confirmed reservation! We made a reservation far in advance for a group dinner and received a written confirmation with the correct details, stating "Thanks for Booking. You're all Set!"More than two weeks later the restaurant notified us that they could no longer honor the reservation, simply stating that they were fully booked! Follow-up messages to the restaurant attempting to understand what happened and reschedule went unanswered. At this point we had to scramble for an alternative. Celebrated a birthday with a large group last week at Moxies before heading over to a concert at the pavilion. The entire staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating to all of our bday requests. They even sent over complimentary food and drinks for us to make it a special time. The servers seemed genuinely pumped to be serving us. Drinks and food were delicious, and was a cool and fun scene.
